Chapter one
Strong hands pulled her closer to a familiar warmth she had missed oh so dearly. Try as she might, Hinata Hyuga was so enraptured by him that she decided that she didn't care anymore about what everyone else would think.
The feel of his lips on her neck was making her lose track of her senses. She allowed him to undress her, letting his hands roam freely down her body, leaving a tingly sensation everywhere he touched.
Never had she thought she would crave one's touch as much as she craved his, craved him.
Turning her head a little to the side she kissed his jaw, hand going up to his silky strands of raven-colored hair as she rolled her hips against his hardened member.
He answered with a grunt and pulled her legs further apart for better access. She honestly didn't think she'd be able to endure the sweet torture she had grown accustomed to. Biting on her lower lip, Hinata let her head fall back to his shoulder, exposing more of her neck to his lips as he began a trail of bites on her soft skin.
"Missed me that much, huh?" His raspy voice sounding against her ear was almost too much as his fingers kept teasing a sensitive spot in her inner tights, not quite reaching the place she wanted his deft fingers at.
Feeling her body heat up, Hinata used her free hand to guide his right one towards her core whilst his other hand caressed her breast teasingly, making sure his hand stayed in place as she continuously used him to pleasure herself.
Her lover kissed all the way from her sweet spot behind her ear towards her clavicle, the hand on her breast working wonders as he used his thumb and index finger to gently pull on her nipple and his other hand rubbed her clit, letting her set the tempo as she began feeling a little hazy.
Hinata could sense how restless he was, how he probably counted down the seconds until he could finally bend her over and began having his fun.
For now, though, it was her turn to have her fun. Savor one of the rare moments her lover lowered all his barriers and let her see the true person behind the carefully mask sculpted over centuries.
It had been some time since they had been together like this and she intended to make the most of it. Her twin sister and her boyfriend were not in the apartment that night and she kept thanking each and every entity she could remember for that.
Hinata couldn't help but moan as he turned her around, with her now straddling him. " Sasuke -" His mouth came close to kissing her but at the last possible second, met her previously unattended nipple and his tongue licked it before his lips began sucking on the pink nub. "I missed you so so much- Ah !"
His hips kept thrusting upwards and she couldn't help but touch his feathered wings, on a special spot she had learned about a while ago and she couldn't help the grin that accompanied his loud, uncharacteristic moan.
His hands now settled on her waist, his grip tight but not unpleasant. He moved to her other mound and he ever so slowly began lowering her down on her bed.
One of the many pillows she had on her bed suddenly flew off towards the wall, as he set her down and ruffled his wings a bit, tucking them closer and making sure Hinata couldn't access that weak spot that she loved to touch just to see him undoing before her.
"Come with me then." Obsidian met pale lavender as he held her chin. His countenance was serious and stern, yet his onyx eyes told her a different story, showed a sense of vulnerability and longing. "There's nothing for you here." Sasuke proceeded to give his lover a languid kiss, tongues battling for dominance as he kept caressing her face, his thumb settling on her lower lip as they parted for air.
"I can't. I have my family-" Cupping his face, she placed a small kiss on his nose and smiled. "Haruki needs me here… I can't just leave her alone with Menma! Imagine the disaster."
Rolling his eyes at the mention of her sister and her husband (of three weeks now), Sasuke leaned his forehead down to touch hers. "I could steal you away…" Kissing her cheek, he moved to her earlobe and nipped at it, hips rutting down and eliciting a gasp from her.
"No you wouldn't," her hands braced themselves at the back of his neck, her lips parting and letting out a stifled moan. Her hips undulated enough so that Sasuke momentarily lost his train of thought as she kissed his jawline and pulled his painfully hard cock inside her.
Both gasped at the sensation of finally being joined together. Their breaths mingled together as Hinata held onto his shoulders, nails digging painfully into his skin (at least to a human it would) as she adjusted to him. " You love me too much …" she whispered, nose playfully nudging his.
With a particularly hard thrust, he pulled back and whispered, "Don't really know about that." Pretending to be shocked, Hinata punched his arm and pouted, something that didn't last long since she threw her head back, letting him take advantage to kiss down her throat and sucking on her weak spot by the clavicle.
She responded by pulling his hair hard, earning a hiss and a growl from Sasuke before she leaned up and kissed him hard, biting on his lower lip as she spread her legs wider to accommodate him as he increased his pace.
"Says the person who confessed first."
"Technicalities of the situation at hand." At that point, Sasuke was tired of talking, much preferring to get lost in his lover's body. So he did just that. Not even giving the chance for her to talk back to him, his hand reached down and nimble fingers took to circle on her clit. It didn't take long for her to reach her climax and after a bit of adjustment, he found that special spot of hers that made her stumble into yet another orgasm.
Not long after he followed her, and when the two laid back to rest for a few moments, Hinata took it as an opportunity to trace the scars that littered his chest. One question kept popping up in her head as she tried not to focus on a few new scars that decorated his sculpted body.
"Do you regret it?" Her voice was small, eyes focused on her hand's movement instead of meeting his. She was met with silence, but knowing Sasuke, and by the rise and fall of his chest she knew he was simply waiting for her to continue. "Giving up your birthright for me? Having to live like this simply because you fell for me?"
"Never," His hand, which had been previously combing through her loose hair came up and pressed her face closer to him. "Even after everything, I don't regret a single thing. Having you by my side Hinata Hyuga has been the greatest blessing of my life. And don't think for one second I'd take a single moment back. Or regret it."
"Not even that one time when-" Sasuke quickly sush-ed her by rolling on top of her and pinning her hands up.
"Not even that." As much embarrassment that one memory brought him, it was one he cherished the most. The one where he learned how much he loved her and she loved him.
Hinata playfully scrunched up her nose, trying not to laugh at his sudden mood change, as if she said the words out loud someone would hear. "I love you Sasuke Uchiha."
"And I love you, princess "
Hinata Hyuga lived a fairly simple and somewhat boring life. She shared an apartment with her twin sister Haruki, worked part-time at a vinyl store, and was studying archeology at Konoha's university.
Every day she would wake up, eat breakfast, sometimes with her sister and her boyfriend, sometimes alone (it would also depend on whether or not her sister had broken off things with Menma or not), then she would take a shower and prepare for her day that consisted of attending her classes in the morning and working at the store in the afternoon.
Then she would come home, sometimes her friend Ino would come as well to study for a test or to simply watch some cheesy romcoms. And after dinner and tidying up the apartment, she would go to bed.
Whether she got any sleep depended once again whether Haruki and Menma were on good terms or not. On the nights (and sometimes days) he was at the apartment, Hinata would use her noise-canceling earplugs and read a book or watch a silly movie in order to fall asleep.
She would often let her mind wander when and how her life could become more interesting when in the solitude of her bedroom, a rather spacious room with floor to ceiling windows facing her bed, and a private bathroom (thank goodness otherwise things would've gotten quite awkward in the mornings Haruki had company) on the left side and to the right sat her desk with her laptop and some small trinkets.
She would often stay inside her room when she didn't have to go out and let her imagination run wild as she thought about how her life would be if she had a personality more like her twin.
Haruki was an extrovert and although sometimes a bit too stubborn and the fact that she had absolutely no filter, one could say she was a people's person, hence her opening the store. She had refused to go to college and when their father threatened to cut her off, she just laughed in his face and left the compound crashing at their friend's house, Tenten.
Haruki and Hiashi never saw eye to eye, and with her being the older twin, she was supposed to take on their father's role in the future, leading their clan and managing all their businesses. But of course, that would never happen, Haruki was a free spirit that couldn't care less about what others thought, much less what their family thought.
In the world they lived in, humans weren't the only ones that populated the earth. It was said that the Hyuga had some Angel blood and that had given them the Byakugan, the all-seeing power that made their bodies stronger and allowed them to mold their chakra to create their own fighting style and form seals that they used in their battles with demons.
It was once custom for the women born into the main house to learn the arts of the occult and use their power to read ancient runes and old texts that allowed them to banish demons to their realms. The men would mainly focus on their fighting skills and protect the clan with their lives.
But in modern days, things weren't as bigoted. Everyone learned both skills and depending on one's proclivity, the training would, later on, focus on the ability they were best at. Haruki was talented in hand-to-hand combat, whilst Hinata leaned more towards the art of sealing and banishing demons.
As a child Hinata always liked to read about mythology and lore of every kind, her father had even allowed her to study demon culture. While for her it was out of genuine curiosity and excitement to know more about these so-called creatures her family devoted their time hunting. For her father, it was a way to learn more about the enemy and boost her skills.
Hinata knew how to fight but she wasn't too keen on it. It was a department more fitting for her twin and their cousin, Neji.
Knowing this, Hiashi was actually glad that Hinata devoted her time to learning more seals and other techniques to exorcise demons. He always said that it was their family's duty to protect others and rid the world of demonic beings.
She and her sister were trained to work as a team. Where one's skills lacked, the other more than made up for it. And, according to the elders, the two of them were some of the best demon huntresses the clan had ever 'produced'.
But what truly made Haruki and their father cut ties was Menma Namikaze.
Hinata had been aware of her sister's relationship with him and saw no problem with it, but to their father and the rest of the clan, the heiress dating a two-hundred-year-old fox demon had been an issue.
Hyuga's were strictly forbidden from dating demons, claiming it tainted their pure blood. They said the same thing about humans, but considering most of their angel blood was now distilled, they could also be considered humans themselves, but unfortunately the Hyuga pride was too big for that. Hinata hadn't understood what had attracted one to the other since Menma was cold and barely showed any emotions and ninety-nine percent of the time would ignore when someone spoke to him.
They were so opposite that Hinata had once questioned her twin about it, with Haruki answering that they just had felt a pull to one another that none could explain, and that when Menma was with her he showed a more caring and loving side of him.
At first, Hinata had been inclined to tell Haruki she had been smoking way too much weed but after spending some time with the couple she realized what Haruki meant. They had this strange bond and although Menma was still rude and had a superiority complex, he genuinely cared for Haruki and that was more than enough for Hinata to support them. Even if the PDA tended to be aggressively explicit at times…
And it was obvious that the more the Hyuga did to split the couple, they would just grow even closer.
She had always supported her sister and never judged her relationship with the demon. After all, it wasn't as if demons and half-demons didn't live in this realm. Some lived honest lives and were overall good, and those the Hyuga didn't care much about. They still cursed and looked sideways when in contact with one, but they usually left them alone.
It was the other demons they abominated. The ones who caused trouble. That robbed and killed without mercy. The ones who just came to the human realm to disturb the centuries-old peace they had going on. The rogues.
And Menma was one of the latter. Had been. A retired troublemaker as Haruki often put it. Menma would come and go, looking for fun since he claimed his realm was boring as fuck and that the one they lived in was mildly better than his, but it made do and it gave him the freedom he had always wanted. But, in Hinata's opinion, the reason he stayed had more to do with her twin than Menma liked to admit.
And he more often than not brought along his friend Sasuke Uchiha. Hinata had never personally met the other demon but had a general idea of who he was, since her sister Haruki often went on what she called ' missions ', with her boyfriend and Sasuke.
Like Menma, Sasuke was one of the strongest demons in all their nine realms and was considered royalty amongst their kind. He was the second-born son to the main family of the Uchiha clan, technically making him a prince of sorts. And again, like Menma, he had no desire to live a boring life, so he accompanied Menma on his trips to the human realm to hunt down rogues since it was the only way their families allowed them such liberties.
Hinata had been mildly curious whenever Haruki talked to her about their adventures and about the Uchiha but never brought the subject up unless her twin mentioned it. Besides, whenever Haruki invited her along Hinata would politely decline, claiming that University kept her busy and someone had to take over the shop.
Hinata enjoyed her quiet life, although a way too monotone one , too much to go on such life-threatening adventures.
"We're going to be in the back, if you need anything just yell!" Her twin informed her as she walked towards the office with Menma in tow.
Don't they ever get tired? Hinata thought to herself as she placed her bag underneath the counter and pulled her hair into a bun. Kiba was supposed to drop by any moment now to pick up his order, a vintage ABBA record to gift his mother.
She turned on the radio once she heard furniture moving and hoped the old lady that lived across the street shop wouldn't come in and complain about the loud noises and the promiscuity she sometimes saw through her living room window.
Whenever Hinata brought the subject up, her twin would just ignore it altogether and Menma made sure to wave to the woman whenever he got the chance, earning a scolding from Hinata and a punch from Haruki, followed by an ' idiot' .
"And here's your ChocoChino and a cinnamon roll. Honestly, Hinata I really don't know how you're able to ingest that much sugar." Kiba complained as he entered and made himself home by handing her breakfast and sitting on the counter. "Where's the hothead ?"
His eyes scanned the room hoping to find another bluenette but seeing the store empty, he sniffed the air a couple of times before a sour expression took over and Hinata saw him roll his eyes. "Seriously? Again? Don't they have any sense of-"
Hinata stifled her giggling and continued eating her breakfast as Kiba went on and on about the couple. "Can't you like put Menma back in hell or something?" She was in the middle of taking a bite of her cinnamon roll when she looked up to her friend and rolled her eyes.
"Like Haruki did to you?" Pulling up her phone as she sat on the chair near the register, she watched with amusement as Kiba froze, then shook his head as he answered. "Exactly like that, but this time make it like a one-way ticket banishment." Kiba shivered, recalling the time he pissed off Haruki and ended up stuck in hell for two days. Hinata had been out of town so she hadn't been able to bring him back, since Haruki had accidentally blocked any way out for him for at least a day.
Kiba was a dog demon, but like his sister Hana, he had been born in the human realm, so he had never set foot in the other dimension before. It was quite the traumatic experience for him, and Hana had confided in Hinata that Kiba slept with a light on since that night, after they had brought him back.
It had been four years since that happened and he still held on to that, Hinata thought to herself, trying to hide the grin that slowly spread over her face.
Thinking back on it, Hinata came to regret teaching her twin those particular seals but then again, more and more rogue demons came to their world and their main target was always humans with angelic powers or helpless 'muggles' as Tenten liked called them.
And since Hinata didn't enjoy going out on those search parties with the rest of the Hyuga, she had decided to expand her sister's seal arsenal, but it came back to bite her in the butt since Kiba and Tenten often complained about Haruki's failed attempts.
But ever since Haruki met Menma both her and Hinata hadn't got that many problems with rogues or any demons for that matter.
"We both know the answer is no. Besides Menma can come and go as he wishes." Hinata finished her cinnamon bun and upon seeing two customers coming in she greeted them and pushed Kiba off the counter. "Here."
"Thanks." He handed her the money and then looked towards the back of the store upon hearing more furniture moving. "You have the patience of a saint you know that?"
The bluenette answered with a laugh and went to help the two girls. He then checked the vinyl a couple of times, nodding to himself as he went behind the counter and pulled out wrapping paper.
"Bye, 'Nata! Thanks for the help!" He yelled out as he exited the shop, making sure it was loud enough for the two people in the back to hear.
Hinata contained her laugh as she heard the office door open a few minutes later and Haruki's head peeking through it. "Is the mutt gone?"
"Yeah. He brought you some tea." Haruki thanked her sister as she sipped her tea and looked her up and down, probably judging her outfit choices. Pursing her red lips, Haruki looked back into the office before turning to Hinata again.
"If you want you can go home early to study for that exam, it will rain later so the odds of anyone coming by in the afternoon are small."
"Oh! Really?" She still had barely begun her shift, but Hinata was indeed struggling with that class. "Thanks. I'll do a couple more hours then I'll walk home-"
"No! It's too dangerous for you to be walking alone. Menma will drive you." Hinata noticed said person was chilling on the couch arm covering his eyes. He looked like that was the last thing he wanted to do at the moment.
"There's no need. Besides, I can-"
"I'd feel better if he drove you." Both Hyugas heard a grunt and turned to watched as Menma finished putting his shirt on."Walk her into the apartment as well."
"Stop bossing me around, woman." Grabbing his car keys from Haruki's desk, Menma nodded towards Hinata who had already given up on trying to dissuade her twin and her boyfriend.
Apparently, there had been a series of disappearances around the area they lived, and Haruki was convinced it was something to do with some barrier breach that she and Menma had found a few weeks back. Which led to some paranoia and her insisting Hinata never walked home alone or stayed out for too long (at least until Menma found if any demons had slipped in through the breach and dealt with it).
"Thanks!" Hinata said as they pulled up at the apartment building. Menma got out first and opened up the door for her. "You don't have to actually come inside. You know how Haruki likes to exaggerate..." She trailed off as Menma gave her a small smile and leaned back against the car door.
Hinata waved him goodbye as she entered the building and once again when she finally got home and looked through the living room window. Menma waved back and drove off.
Around noon Hinata went to the kitchen to make lunch but upon opening the fridge there was nothing there she could make a meal out of. Sighing, Hinata changed into a pair of jeans and a lavender hoodie and headed out the door.
Sure both Haruki and Kiba had warned about the rogues that had been seen around the area they lived, but she was sure none would be brave enough to attack her in the middle of the day.
Tough is quite dark outside due to the rainy weather… but it's still too early. Besides the convenience store, it's only two blocks away…
Shrugging, she went on her way and bought the things she needed to make her spaghetti Bolognese. On her way back home she was passing through an alley and heard some strange noises. It must be some stray cat, she thought but quickened her steps and soon she was back in the safety of her apartment.
See, you're being paranoid for nothing!
After she finished eating and cleaning the kitchen, she noticed the trash was ready to be taken outside. I mean, I still have time to throw this out… It's right behind the building. Hinata figured that if she could go out to the convenience store then she could take the trash out.
After a good ten minutes of internal struggle, Hinata took a deep breath and straightened herself up.
Haruki might be better at hand-to-hand combat but I'm better with seals and my Byakugan has a wider range than hers! I have nothing to worry about. And it's not that far anyway. If I scream someone ought to hear me and call for help.
All her confidence dissipated once she went into the back alley where the dumpsters were. Light rain started to fall, and it had gotten way darker than before.
But she was alone in that alley and there was nothing to fear.
Opening up the dumpster, she threw the bag she had brought along and after cleaning her hands she took out her keys from her pocket and accidentally dropped them right after.
"Fuck." She cursed her clumsiness and when she bent down to pick them up, she heard a whooshing sound and used her Byakugan to see three pairs of feet jumping down behind her, as she felt the air thickening.
" What do we have here?" One of the voices, male if she had to guess, asked, and took a few steps closer to her. Hands shaking, she tried placing her keys in between her knuckles, but there were only three and too small to cause any damage. But if they are demons…
Gulping she turned around and kept her head low, hearing the other two snicker and make rude comments about her.
"I told you the Hyuga girl lived around here." The one further away said and cracked their knuckles.
"Time for payback."
