Four years later
Brittany looks up from her homework as her phone rings and smiles slightly, she grabs the device and accepts the call putting it on speaker so she can turn back to her homework. ''Hey mom.''
''Hey Sweetheart, I am just calling to ask when you and San will be coming.''
She smiles as she hears the smile in her voice knowing that she and Mason made Holly's day the second they handed her adoption papers the first Christmas after she moved to Nashville with Santana and the group.
''We will be leaving in about two hours, we wanted to surprise Maze at school.'' She turns to her phone and smiles slightly as she hears her hum. ''Does he know that we are coming?''
''Nah but he keeps asking.'' Holly replies chuckling. ''Seriously that boy will turn nine in a week, but currently he is acting like a goddamn teen in the middle of puberty.''
Brittany raises an eyebrow dropping her pen and leans back. ''Puberty?''
''Yeah, he is starting to get embarrassed whenever I hug him in public.'' Holly tells her scoffing. ''Just yesterday I tried to hug him at the grocery store and he told me and I quote 'Moooom we are in public, hug me at home' Like that bothered him before.''
Brittany burst out laughing and shakes her head. ''Yeah that sounds like him, he isn't that adorable little boy anymore mom. Sisters hugs are still okay though.''
''Keep on dreaming B.'' Holly mutters with a scoff. ''You will hear the same tomorrow.''
''Meh don't think so, where are we celebrating?'' She asks changing the topic.
''His birthday at Maribel's house, your birthday Sunday at mine. Is the group coming?''
''Yeah they will all drive over tomorrow, only San and I will be there tonight.''
''Where is she?''
''Shooting the last scene before her two weeks off, she should be coming home in half an hour.''
''I still can't believe that she got discovered so quickly.'' Holly breaths out pride filling her voice. ''Six months into college and she already had a small scene in an indie movie, now four years later she stars in blockbusters.''
Brittany chuckles and hums in agreement. ''She still can't believe it herself either.'' She tells her proudly. ''I told her from the beginning that she will be discovered quickly, same goes for C they are both hella talented.''
''What movie is she starring in now?''
''I have no idea, she isn't allowed to spill anything until they release the trailer.'' Brittany tells her chuckling. ''But judging her shit eating grin, it's something amazing.''
''How is school going?''
''It was already hard but now knowing I could cut it one year short, just made it even harder.'' Brittany breaths out with a groan. ''Final exams will be two days after break, so I will be studying most of the time I am there.''
''And how is that other thing going?''
She laughs hearing the teasing in her voice and rolls her eyes. ''You should ask Noah, he keeps on gushing.''
''Can't blame him.'' Holly tells her chuckling. ''He captured your beauty and everyone is hooked B, if architecture isn't something you can imagine for your future you sure can turn to modeling.''
''Nah architecture is more mine mom, I'll model for fun and to help him out but that's it.'' She glances at the time and sighs. ''I got to hang mom, I have thirty more minutes to hand in the last project before final exams and San will be home soon.''
''Alright, see you at Maze's school sweetheart.''
''Yeah see you there mom, love you.''
''Love you too!''
She ends the call turning back to her paper and groans as she eyes the sketch of a house figuring what is missing, she drops her pencil and reaches for her coffee taking a sip hearing the front door open.
''Honey I'm home!''
She laughs hearing her girlfriends voice bouncing off of the walls and leans back in her chair. ''Bedroom!'' She yells back.
She turns around in her chair as she hears footsteps nearing the room and smiles slightly as Santana walks in smiling happily. ''Well don't you look hot.'' She mutters as she eyes the fitting red dress and leather jacket she wears.
Santana giggles and walks over to her, she places her hands on the arm of the chair leaning down giving her a nice look of her cleavage and kisses her softly. ''And you look stressed, hot but stressed.'' She whispers against her lips. ''What's wrong mi amor?''
Brittany just drops her head back and sighs. ''Working on the last project before exams, I just can't figure out what is missing.''
''Show me.'' Santana whispers softly as she turns the chair back around so her girlfriend is facing the desk, her hands immediately finds her shoulders and slowly starts massaging the tense muscles underneath her fingertips.
She leans her chin on the top of her head as she taps the sketch and looks at the beautiful house on paper, she tilts her head and hums. ''Is it facing a street or a backyard?''
''Yard.'' Brittany mumbles. ''I wanted to sketch the scenery last.''
''Well it's beautiful Britt-Britt, I think I know what is missing.'' She smiles as she looks up at her with an eyebrow raised and pecks her lips. ''A balcony and definitely add a pool in the backyard.'' She murmurs.
She smiles lovingly as she sees the grin appearing on her face and chuckles kissing her forehead. ''Continue drawing baby, I am sure you have a deadline.'' She pulls back and gently runs her hand through her blonde locks. ''I will pack our bags, anything you need to bring?''
''Just my books to study, I will pack them after finishing.'' Brittany tells her as she turns back to her sketch grabbing her pencil. ''How was your day?''
''The movie is almost done, the trailer will be aired on your birthday.'' Santana tells her as she grabs their suitcases. ''I still am not allowed to tell you what it is, but there will be a screening the day it releases.''
''When will it release?'' Brittany asks softly knowing the screening will be be a huge publishing event with paparazzi and fans.
''Next month, will you be my date to it?''
Brittany turns in her chair and smiles slightly as she sees her nervous grin while she packs. ''Is it red carpet?'' She smiles as she turns to her in surprise and shrugs. ''Gotta know if I have to go shopping babe.''
''Wait you will..''
''San I told you in the beginning that I will attend whenever you want me to.'' Brittany tells her softly as she sees the surprise on her face. ''I don't care how many people there will be, all I care about is that it's your career and I will support you no matter what.''
''God what did I do to deserve you?''
''Probably something bad.'' She dugs dodging the pillow she tries to hit her with and laughs. ''Hey no hitting, I have coffee here.''
Santana just growls softly and slaps the back of her head. ''Not funny Britt-Britt.''
Brittany holds up two fingers showing her the small gap between them and smiles slightly. ''It was a little.'' She reaches out grabbing her hand before she can walk away to ignore her and pulls her between her legs leaning back in her chair, she wraps her arms around her waist stroking her thumbs over the small of her back and smiles lovingly. ''Just kidding baby.'' She murmurs as she looks down at her with an eyebrow raised. ''And I ask myself the same every damn day San, I sure am lucky as fuck to have you in my life.''
Santana just smiles lovingly and leans down to kiss her softly. ''I am the lucky one mi amor.'' She pulls back before she can deepen the kiss and kisses her forehead. ''Finish your homework Britt-Britt, I will bring our suitcases down and grab some snacks.''
''I rather make a quick stop at Starbucks babe.'' Brittany mutters as she turns back to her homework. ''I think I need another coffee.'' She smiles as she just hums and focuses back on the paper in front of her as she hears her walk out of the room with their suitcases, she drops her pencil after adding the finishing touch to the scenery making sure the pool is the main focus from the balcony and leans back turning her laptop and scanner on.
She places the paper in the scanner after clearing the desk and smiles watching the image appear on her laptop. ''Babe?!'' She yells as she hears her rummaging in the kitchen.
''Yes B?'' Santana asks as she walks into the bedroom a few minutes later.
''What do you think?'' Brittany asks softly leaning aside so she can see her sketch on the screen with the colors she added.
Santana walks over leaning against the back of her chair and smiles proudly as she sees the beautiful house and backyard, the main focus placed on the balcony and swimming pool. ''Well damn.'' She breaths out. ''It's amazing baby, what is the railing design called?''
''Wrought Iron.'' Brittany replies softly as she adds the color green to the backyard. ''It's a classy design fitting for this kind of house.''
''That's a craftsman right?'' Santana asks softly as she looks at the house, she chuckles as Brittany nods her head looking up at her in surprise and winks. ''Some things I can remember mi amor, I know you dislike designing craftsman houses but they are still your go to design because you can add your own touch to it.''
Brittany chuckles and nods her head. ''Yeah it sucks to draw it because it's just difficult to make it look amazing, but the second I have it on paper I can go crazy.''
Santana hums and kisses her head. ''I wouldn't add another thing Britt-Britt, it looks amazing like it is now.'' She smiles as she nods her head in agreement and leans against the chair as she watches her open her email account to send it to her professor, she kisses the top of her head and steps back as she turns off her laptop plugging everything out. ''Do you need your bag?''
She walks to the door as she hums and grabs it for her, she holds it out and leans against their closet as she quickly shoves her laptop, books and pencils into it. ''Where are we celebrating your birthday babe?''
''At mom's house, Maze's birthday will be celebrated at your mami's house.'' Brittany tells her. ''Mom called shortly before you came home, we will meet her at Maze's school.''
''God I can't believe he will turn 9 in one week.'' Santana breaths out shaking her head. ''Hell you are turning 21 in two.''
''And you are 21.'' Brittany murmurs with a chuckle. ''Time definitely flew by the past four years.'' She shoulders her bag turning to look at her and smiles. ''Ready to go?''
Santana nods her head following her out of the room and slips into the kitchen. ''We won't have to make a stop at Starbucks Britt-Britt, I know you want to get there fast.'' She grabs the cup of coffee she made and holds it out for her. ''Your favorite blend with caramel sauce and.'' She shakes the small box in her other hand and smiles slightly. ''I brought donuts.''
''God I love you.'' Brittany breaths out taking the cup, she grabs her hand and pulls her close leaning down to peck her lips. ''Let's hit the road and hope we hit the highway before rush hour.''
They both walk out of their apartment after grabbing their jackets double checking that they have everything and didn't forget Mason's gifts like they did the year before and jog down the stairs to Brittany's car, Brittany slides into the drivers seat placing her coffee in the cup holder and grabs her sunglasses sliding them on as she starts her car.
''Ready?'' She asks.
Santana nods her head and smiles slightly intertwining their hands. ''Hell yeah, I am looking forward to two weeks of relaxing.''
''No scenes, no paps, just family and studying.'' Brittany murmurs as she pulls out of the parking lot.
Santana giggles and nods her head. ''Quinn told me the same after we finished for the day, she will still keep an eye on all social media actions but she is happy that she can ignore her phone for the better part of the next two weeks.''
Brittany laughs and nods her head. ''I believe that, she is busy ever since she became your and C's manager.''
''Yeah but she is damn good at her job, it's amazing to work close with one of our friends and I will be forever grateful that Q offered it and even switched her major to make sure she is qualified to be our manager.''
''Q also loves it, I could picture her being a lawyer but I never saw her as the office type. Being your and Cedes's manager, allows her to work from wherever she is and she isn't glued to just one spot.''
''Yeah Cedes mentioned the same and Puck also mentioned that Q is happier now, then she was working for a firm.''
''Some of us had to change majors, but now we are all doing what we love.'' Brittany murmurs with a grin. ''Puck loves being a photographer and I think Sam and I made his day the minute we told him that I would model sometimes and Sam will be his model full time, Mike is living his dream running his dance studio and Tina found love in being an accountant and working together with Mike.''
''Q is an amazing manager, Cedes storms the charts with her amazing voice and you will be an amazing architect mi amor.'' Santana continues with a loving grin. ''Only two in our group changed majors, T and Q. C and I are both doing what we wanted to do, well I wanted to sing but I fell in love with acting and you still love architecture and everything you design is amazing.''
''C is storming the charts, but you my love are on your way to become the most requested actress in movies and soon maybe series too.'' Brittany glances at her as she drives onto the highway and smiles slightly. ''Everyone just can't stop talking about your acting in scream 4, they all mentioned that your fear was so realistic.''
''Well they will never know that it was, I hate Q for not telling me what kind of movie that was.'' Santana grumbles still mad about the many jump scares in that movie, Brittany snickers and squeezes her hand softly.
''That will stay our secret.'' She breaths out through a laugh. ''But still, you are really talented baby and I am glad that people finally see it.''
Santana smiles and lifts their hands to kiss the back of Brittany's hand. ''Thank you for always believing in me Britt-Britt.'' She murmurs softly. ''Without your constant support the past three years, I would have never had the courage to really dream of everything that happened and will happen.''
''Even though it scares me, I am also looking forward to my first red carpet experience because you will be by my side.''
''And I will always be.'' Brittany promises softly as she squeezes her hand. ''They will all love you and that day will be the turning point in your career San, after that Q's phone will blow up with requests and even though I don't know what movie it is I am sure you will be amazing in it.''
''It's my first main actor gig.'' Santana murmurs nervously.
''Wait..'' Brittany mutters in shock, she turns her head to glance at her and raises an eyebrow. ''For real? Main actor?''
Santana sucks in her lips and slowly nods her head smiling nervously. ''Yes, main actor Britt-Britt.''
''Well damn.'' She breaths out grinning proudly. ''Now I really can't wait to watch it.'' She squeezes her hand softly and smiles slightly. ''I am assuming you weren't allowed to spill that either, your secret is safe with me babe.''
''I know, I also know that I could tell you everything about the movie and nothing will be spilled but I kind of wanted to surprise you with it too.'' Santana confesses softy.
''The only thing I know is that you are the main actor San, everything else is still a surprise.'' Brittany tells her with a small smile. ''Now let's change the topic before you blurt out something else.'' She tells her as she let's go of her hand to take a sip of her coffee.
She chuckles as Santana just reaches forward turning the radio louder knowing talking more will cause more secrets to be blurted out and just intertwines their hands as they drive down the highway towards Tennessee, she runs her thumb over the back of her hand glancing at her as she hears her sing softly and smiles as her eyes lock on sparkling brown orbs thankful for the past four years of having that amazing girl in her life.
