Chapter 1: Emporer Land
There was snow everywhere. I've been walking alone for hours, not being able to find my family. Hi, my name is Lana Mason. I am 15 years old. I have long brown curly hair that I like to wear in a high ponytail. I have green eyes and white-toned skin. For my clothes, I like to wear shirts from my favorite movies and tv shows, I also love to wear leggings. During the winter, I wear thick turtlenecks with my t-shirts over them. But I don't have a turtleneck because it is summertime in panem. I am not cold right now. If you're wondering how I'm not cold, I have the power to withstand the cold, but it is very windy and there is snow everywhere. I also have a visible scar on my right eye and the top half of my left ear is cut off. I got those from my old family, the one I had before the family I have now that I met in panem. I also have a shock collar around my neck that my husband forced on me a while ago.
So, how did I get here? I was going on vacation with my family. We were on an airplane, going to Australia to study animals but the plane crashed in the ocean. Somehow, I was washed up here in the snow, separated from my family. I have also lost my phone, so I had no idea how to contact them. I am scared. I sat down, curled up in a ball, and started to cry. As I was crying, I started to hear some singing.
"Only you..."
Norma Jean: "But how can you know for sure?"
"Can make this world seem right."
Norma Jean: "So many songs, but I'm feeling so lonely."
I decided to walk closer and see where the singing was coming from. I gasped at what I saw. Penguins. Emporer Penguins and they were singing to each other. There were thousands of them, gathered in a big circle. I walked closer and closer, but I hid behind some of the penguins so I wasn't spotted. I listened as the penguins were singing.
Norma Jean: "You don't have to be beautiful to turn me on. I just need your body baby."
Male penguin: "Hello."
Norma Jean: "From dusk till dawn."
Male penguin: "Is it me you're looking for?"
Norma Jean: "You don't need experience. To turn me out."
Male penguin: "Take... these broken wings."
Norma Jean: "You just leave it all up to me."
Male Penguin: "Let's talk about eggs baby, let's talk about you and me."
Norma Jean: "Mmm mm uh-uh. You don't have to be rich."
Course: "Give me all your loving."
Norma Jean: "To be my pearl. You don't have to be cool to rule my world. Ain't no particular song I'm more compatible with, I just want your extra..."
"Boys! Boys! Give a chick a chance!" The female penguin said. The female penguin is really pretty. I turned my head when I heard another male penguin singing.
Memphis: "Well, since my baby left me... I found a new place to dewl. It's down at the end of lonely street at a heartbreak hotel. And I said I'm feeling so lonely baby I'm feeling so lonely."
Norma Jean: "Oh I'm feeling so lonely... I could die."
Memphis: "Don't have to be rich to be my girl."
Norma Jean: "Don't have to be cool to rule my world."
Both: "You rule my world you're the particular song I'm compatible with I just want your extra time and your kiss."
When the song finished, penguins gathered around, making a heart shape for the two penguins. The two penguins touched their beaks and kissed. I smiled. I wished I could stay here, but I have to go find my family. my parents, Katniss and Peeta must be worried for me right now. They are my biological parents. My wife, Johanna must also be worried, so are my best friends, Finch, Gale, and Rue. Aunt Prim must also be worried for me. The same can't be said for my husband, Cato and the careers, Marvel, Glimmer, and Clove.
Maybe I could ask those two penguins to help me. I pushed past the penguins and went up to those two penguins.
"Umm... excuse me?" I said shyly. They turned towards me and approached me. Penguins were whispering to one another at my presence. I don't think they have seen a human before.
"Oh, you must be lost. What's your name sweetheart?" The female penguin said. "I-I'm Lana. Lana Mason." I said. "Hello. I'm Norma Jean." The female penguin said. "And I'm Memphis." The male penguin said. "Where are your parents?" Memphis asked me. "I lost them in a plane crash. I don't know where they are. I don't know where I am." I said. "You are in Emporer Land. You can stay with us if you want to until you find your parents." Norma Jean said. Suddenly, some elder penguins walked up to us. A tall elder emperor penguin walked up to me. He was old with his back crooked.
"Memphis. Norma Jean. This girl has to be trusted in order to stay with us." The elder said. "I'm sure she can be trusted, Noah. She's a sweet girl and she is lost, she doesn't look like she would harm anyone." Norma Jean said with a smile. I shook my head. "No, I would never harm anyone." I agreed. Noah thought for a moment. There was a long moment of silence before Noah spoke up.
"Well, alright then. The girl can stay. Don't do any harm to any of us, or you will be kicked out." Noah said. "You're room is in those caves. Norma Jean and Memphis will show you." Noah said. "Thanks," I said. Noah and the elders left.
"Follow me." Memphis said. I followed Memphis and Norma Jean to the cave. When we got to the cave, I saw a big tunnel. There were pink curtains in front of the entrance.
"The room is decorated for you. Feel free to use any of the stuff." Memphis said. "Go on, take a look." Norma Jean said. Norma Jean and Memphis waited for me outside. I looked around the room. There was a queen-size bed leaning against the right wall. There were purple sheets hanging from the bed. I saw there was an Avengers-themed covers on the bed too. There was a dresser on the right side of my bed, leaning on the wall next to my bed. There was a lamp on the dresser near my bed. On the other end of my dresser, next to it there was a comfortable chair that was a blue color hanging from the ceiling. I loved how there were cushions on the chair and pillows. On the wall next to the chair, there was a bookshelf with all of my books on it already. There was a big flat screen tv next to my bookshelf, with speakers. I saw there was a switch and a Wii gaming console hooked up, and a DVD player. Next, shelves were leaning on a wall with all my movies on the shelves. There was also a bean bag in front of my tv.
On the wall next to my bookshelf, there was a closet so I could store more stuff. Next to my closet, there was a desk with a chair in front of my desk. There was a computer on my desk too. I also saw there were Avengers wall stickers with all my favorite superheroes. There was a big wall sticker of Captain Marvel next to my desk, there was a big one of Gamora next to my tv and a big one of Black Widow next to my bookshelf. I love my room. I also have a big carpet. There were colorful lights on the celine. When I looked at my desk again, I saw that there was a phone! It was an iPhone 13 with a pink case. Yay! As I was hanging out in my new room, Norma Jean and Memphis walked into my room.
"Hey Lana, how are you liking your new room?" Norma Jean asked me. "I love it! Thank you guys so much!" I cried. "You're welcome." Norma Jean said. "We have something to tell you." Memphis said. "What is it?" I said. "You wanna tell her Norma Jean?" Memphis said. "Sure. Lana, Memphis, and I were talking outside, and... we think we should adopt you." Norma Jean said. "Adopt me?" I said with confusion.
"Yes. In case you can't find you're parents again, we can be your parents. That is if you want us to. We won't force you." Norma Jean said. I smiled. "Yes, I would love that," I said. "Okay then, we will be your parents from now on. And you can call us 'mom and dad' or whatever you want to call us by." Memphis said.
"Mommy, daddy. Thank you." I said. "You're welcome. Call us if you need something okay?" Norma Jean said. "Okay," I said. With that, Norma Jean and Memphis left my room.
I am happy with my new parents.
