A/N: Modern AU along with a Life is Strange AU. Also, Julieta has time travel instead of healing powers. Julieta's also the only one with powers.
Julieta drove into the Encanto. "I can't wait to meet your family finally," Agustín said. Agustín and Julieta have been dating since their first year of college. They were both freshly graduates. After Julieta's family didn't show up for her graduation, she figured it was time to visit them. Julieta had sent them all invites, including her sister.
"I can't wait for you to meet them too," Julieta responded. "I have a little warning for you. Things have been tense with my family since my dad died, especially with my sister. So, if they're a little icy, it's nothing personal. They're like that with everyone."
They arrived at Julieta's childhood home. "It's huge," Agustín gasped. "I know you told me your family is rich, but I wasn't expecting this."
"My mamá is one of the town founders," Julieta explained. "She took a leadership role in building this community. When mamá got pregnant with me and my siblings, the community built this house for her and my papá."
"So this place is relatively new?" Agustín asked.
"Only about fifty years old," Julieta explained. She parked the car. The couple climbed out of the car and grabbed their bags from the trunk. Julieta took a deep breath before knocking on the door. A woman with silver hair opened the door.
"Hey, mamá," Julieta said. Alma Madrigal didn't say a word. She only pulled her eldest child in for a hug.
"Welcome home, mi panecillo perfecto," Alma said.
"Thanks, mamá," Julieta sighed. The two of them pulled away after a few moments. Julieta then nodded towards Agustín. "This is my boyfriend, Agustín. We met at the University of Valle."
"I look forward to getting to know you," Alma said. "Come in. Bruno and I were sitting down for coffee."
"Where is my money?" a feminine voice asked. After coffee, Julieta decided to go for a walk around the community. She was hoping to run into some old childhood friends. She hadn't been home since she went off to college.
"I don't have any money," a male voice asked. Julieta hid beside a wall.
"Bull," the woman yelled. "Your family is almost as rich as mine!"
"Then why do you need my money?" the man asked.
"My mother cut me off," the woman screamed. "Now, give me my money, or I'll have to go to the police. I'm sure they'll love to know about your extracurricular activities."
"You have no proof that anything happened," the man yelled.
"Or do I?" the woman asked. "Or, maybe, you could just tell me what you know about Gabriela Gutiérrez."
"I don't know anything," the man growled.
"I know you had something to do with her disappearance," the woman accused.
"I know nothing," the man shouted. "Your getting on my nerves."
"Is that a gun?" the woman asked. Julieta quickly moved out from behind the wall. The woman fell to the ground, and the world for Julieta turned white.
