Chapter 1:

Shuchi'in Private Academy a prestigious school originally meant for the aristocracy of Japan now used for the education of the children of the modern-day nobility known as the wealthy elite who will go on to become Japan's future leaders!

But even among the elite there are different dynamics of power and clear social hierarchies and standing at the top of this Pyramid are two individuals who our readers who are incredibly familiar with.

For those who don't know who's being talked about let us introduce them. First there is the Student Council President Miyuki Shirogane, while the son of a commoner, he is the top student at the Academy, a man of unparalleled wisdom and intellect constantly taking first place in mock exams he is a genius of geniuses!

At his side was his academic equal Vice-President Kaguya Shinomiya, who not only possessed brains and talent but also possesses one of the highest pedigrees possible, being the daughter of the wealthiest conglomerate in Japan, the Shinomiya Corporation, that combined with her beauty beyond comprehension made her an existence beyond normal plebians!

Normally these two's day are spent in the Student Council room scheming plans to make the other confess their love to each other because their pride (awkwardness) wouldn't allow them to say the words I like you to each other. This has led to mental warfare that makes other battles pale in comparison.

The Crusades? Trivial.

The Hundred Year War? An argument between two neighbors.

World War 2? A spat between children on a playground.

The topic of today's conversation, however, surprisingly had nothing to do with the battles of the heart.

"Looks like our friend has struck again," Shirogane said as he finished reading the front page of his newspaper.

"Oh, whoever could you be talking about President" Kaguya replied as she placed her signature Tea onto her beloved President's desk.

"Don't play dumb Shinomiya," Shirogane responded as he lifted his teacup and took a sip, "I'm talking about our resident vigilante who's been swinging around."

Kaguya put a finger to her chin as she looked up thinking of a match.

"Oh…him," She said daintily, "What was the newspaper club calling him again…Spider-Man?" Kaguya asked tilting her head.

"You don't need to pretend not to know his name," Shirogane muttered as he put down his teacup, "It'd be easier to count the people who don't know him vs. those that do."

"So, what did he do this week?" she asked as she quickly wiped the look from her face continuing the conversation.

"Apparently he was able to save three people from a fire," Shirogane replied as he recited the events from a paper, "He also stopped a mugging."

"How heroic," Kaguya replied in a drawling tone.

"He's been doing a lot lately it's pretty impressive."

"Oh, I didn't know you were paying so much attention. Are you perhaps a fan, President?" Kaguya asked as she tilted her head.

"It's not that, I just think he's doing a lot of good for the community."

That was a lie.

Miyuki Shirogane was a huge fan. He was such a huge fan he'd keep newspaper clippings on his wall anytime the newspaper brought him up. Shirogane loved superheroes and his Saturday mornings as a kid were spent watching different superhero anime. Spider-Man was just like those heroes he watched as a kid.

He had super strength, the ability to stick to walls, swung through the city with webs, and helped anyone in need. How could a Superhero addict like him not be a huge fan?

However, despite being a huge fan he couldn't let Kaguya know, after all, superhero fans were looked down upon by society often being compared to otaku and being considered for younger children.

"Oh, you're a Super Hero fan? Isn't that for kids" His imaginary Kaguya then put her hand near her mouth, "How cute."

Nooooo, he couldn't let Kaguya find out about his obsession instead all he could do was slightly praise the hero in a way that seemed more appreciation than admiration.

"There's a lot of things wrong in this world, and just having someone helping out I think is a good thing." He replied as he attempted to hide his own nature, "What about you Shinomiya are you a fan?"

Shinomiya paused as she put a hand on her cheek.

"Of course not," She replied, "In fact, I think his acts of heroism should really be left to the professionals.

That was also a lie.

Like Shirogane she was also a fan of Spider-Man, she would constantly check the web about the web-swinging hero and even used part of her allowance to start up a news channel that specifically would keep track of Spider-Man's actions.

Despite not having much experience with superheroes something about the way he selflessly helped people while not doing anything for a reward and the romanticism of it all deeply resonated with her and she couldn't help but admire the masked vigilante.

Even girls could be fans of superheroes.

She couldn't let the President know however, she needed to keep up with appearances and despite all the good the web-slinging vigilante was doing he was still just that, a vigilante.

Someone outside the law who legally shouldn't do what he had been doing.

It was unbecoming for an heiress such as herself to outwardly support such blatant rule-breaking.

And so, because of the need to keep up with appearances, Kaguya had to shut her inner fangirl in a room, lock the door, and throw away the key far, far away.

"What he is doing is not ok and should not be condoned," Kaguya said as she tried to hide her inner fan girl.

To Shirogane, however, Kaguya's words struck him like an arrow, causing him to further vow to himself that Kaguya would never find out his hidden secret.

"You are absolutely correct," Shirogane replied attempting to keep a straight, "Even though he is being helpful, he really should leave the rescuing to people who are certified for rescue work."

"Yes, there's a reason why we have licensed law enforcement and rescue workers, unlike vigilantes they have been trained in order to do the things he has been doing and is expected to keep to a certain standard."

"Quite, can you imagine what would happen if people just tried to do the job of a policeman just because?"

"It would be utter anarchy!"
"Yes indeed, in fact, this Spider-Man is not only breaking the law, but he is also setting a bad example to other people."

"I agree what he is doing is a detriment to social relations, in fact, I'd go in and say he's a menace to society!" Kaguya screamed as she slammed her hand against the table.

An awkward silence filled the room, wounds now covering the two's hearts from badmouthing their hero. Though they didn't know it at this moment these two geniuses were sharing the same brain cell as the same thought flashed through their minds.

"I got to change the topic!"

"Yoo hoo! Prez, Kaguya check this out!"

Like a bolt of lightning, a way out appeared with the arrival of the incarnation of chaos secretary Chika Fujiwara entered into the center of the room dragging with her the auditor of the student council committee Miko Iino who didn't look as eager.

The secretary then grabbed the ends of the poor girl's hair and lopped it around the top of her head.

"Bunny Iino!" she said with a wide smile.

"Fujiwara!" the girl whined, "It's not that funny."

Kaguya and Shirogane on the other hand were relieved at the timely arrival of their chaotic secretary gladly chuckling in order to move past their previous conversation, Fujiwara's chaos for the first time acting in their favor.

"Oh, is that Spider-Man on the front page!"

Unfortunately, chaos theory decided to be a bitch like usual to the two as Fujiwara picked up the newspaper flinging their conversation right back to where they were hoping to leave it behind.

"Wow, that makes it the 5th mugging he's stopped this week!" The girl exclaimed as she quickly looked through the paper.

"Oh, do you follow Spider-Man news," Kaguya asked, hopeful that she wasn't the only person to follow the web-slinging vigilante.

"Why wouldn't I, after all, I was one of the first to discover him!" Fujiwara replied proudly as she pointed at herself.

This was…the truth.

Chika Fujiwara actually was one of the first people to learn about the hero. When he was first starting out his exploits, he was but just an internet forum rumor. However, Chika Fujiwara being a super detective was able to validate the rumors and discovered that there was indeed truth to them, there was in fact a superhero among them.

Her friends in the student council thought she was crazy and that it was just another one of her fads, but eventually, Spider-Man became fact and Chika Fujiwara loved to lord it over Kaguya and Shirogane whenever she could.

Also being the daughter of a politician, she was able to see the statistics of the impact Spiderman had in the city and the cold hard numbers indicated that he was a help.

Seeing the good he's done Fujiwara didn't particularly care about the legality of it all.

"He does so much good, I don't know who wouldn't be a fan!" The girl cheerfully said with a smile.

The girl's words lifted the atmosphere of the room, Lifting the spirits of both Kaguya and Shirogane.

Maybe they too could reveal some of their admiration for the crime fighter?

"I wish people would stop talking about that criminal," Iino muttered, "He's a no-good cocky, showboat."

Imaginary arrows struck the hearts of both the president and vice-president as the atmosphere came crashing down.

"You…you don't seem to be a fan of his Iino," Shirogane said after regaining his composure.

"Not at all," The short auditor replied, "In fact, I detest him!"

This girl was…also telling the truth.

She truly did despise Spider-Man.

With a Father as a Supreme Court Judge and a Mother who does humanitarian work, being raised in this environment has caused Miko Iino to develop a strong sense of justice and a rigid personality regarding following the rules.

Seeing someone not only break these rules but get praise for them, infuriated the girl as she believed that such law-breaking should not be applauded but instead be condoned.

"We should be actually focusing on praising real heroes instead of blindly celebrating a man in tights."

"Come on, Miko," Fujiwara said as she cuddled up to the girl, "You can admit he does some good."

The girl blushed at the girl's show of affection, "…Ok" she said while looking down embarrassed.

"You changed your mind way too quickly!" Shirogane and Kaguya screamed in their heads.

"Hey President, I finished those budget reports."

"Ishigami when did you get here!" Shirogane screamed at the sudden appearance of the new person.

This was Yu Ishigami the treasurer of the Student Council a quiet boy, he had spent the entire conversation working on his assignment from Shirogane.

"I've been here the entire time you guys just haven't noticed."

"Ehhh!" Kaguya shrieked, "The entire time!"

"Speak up man, you're like a ghost!" Shirogane yelled.

"That's really creepy Ishigami," Fujiwara pitched in.

"Cr-creepy?" The boy said with shock before turning into a depressed mood, "Sorry for the mistake, I'll atone for it by dying."

"Why is that the first thing that you go to!" Shirogane screamed internally as he watched his treasurer shuffle his way out.

"Wait!" Fujiwara screamed as she grabbed the Treasurer by his shoulder, "If you've been here the entire time you've been hearing us talk about Spider-Man, we got to hear your opinion, I bet you're a huge fan, cause your such an otaku." She teased as she put a finger near his cheek.

"Just because I'm an otaku doesn't mean I'm a fan of every superhero, I have my own standards," Ishigami said as annoying swiped Fujiwara's finger away, "and honestly I don't have much of an opinion on the guy."

"Come on," Fujiwara said as she continued to pester him, "I'm sure you should have some opinion."

"I really don't," Ishigami said point blank, "And I don't have time to talk about this right now, I need to get home to finish my homework."

He was lying!

"He's lying," Iino said with a tone of disdain, "Like he'd do his homework, he's probably just going home to play video games."

"Yup you caught me," Ishigami nonchalantly replied back as he exited the room, "I'm not planning on doing my homework."

"Don't just say you're not doing your homework in such a straightforward manner!" Iino screamed angrily, "Have some sort of dignity!"

"Whatever."

Yes, Yu Ishigami had no plans to do his homework tonight! He was someone who lived with his grades, did the bare minimum, and believed that C's do get degrees.

However, Iino only had it half right of what Ishigami was planning to do night. Instead of playing video games, he had a more…Physical activity in mind.

Night falls upon the city of Tokyo as the city lights filled the atmosphere.

If one were to walk around right now there would be many a spectacular sight to see.

The most spectacular sight however was not on the ground right now but instead up in the sky.

Because if one were to look up at this moment one could catch the peculiar sight of a person plummeting towards the ground right now.

Now normally if this were a normal person one would scream out in concern, worried about the falling personage's imminent doom.

However, this wasn't a normal person, this was Spider-Man!

Despite the life-or-death situation he was in, he wasn't worried, he had gotten used to this feeling and knew what to do next.

Aiming his hand at the closest building he made a quick motion with his wrist and in an instant a stream of web came out of his body attaching itself to the building.

Grabbing the web like a rope he used the momentum of his fall to rise up into the air, repeating the motion with his other to make progress through the city.

Yes, at this moment Spider-Man was at this moment making his rounds through Tokyo watchful of his surroundings in order to act with swift justice when the moment called!

Now one could only think what kind of thoughts were going through the mind of this hero of justice, was it burdened with the thoughts of the less fortunate and how to lift those who needed lifting, or was he hyper-focused on the work that needed to be done to bring peace to the world?

"Maaaan, the Student Council really dislike me, I can never let them out that I'm Spider-Man."

No, the current thoughts of the crime-fighting vigilante were actually… pretty normal especially for a teenager, it was that of being worried about being hated by their peers.

Yes, the secret identity of Spider-Man the hero who has brought Japan to Superhero fervor was none other than a member of the student council of Shui'ichin.

Or to be more specific Spider-Man was none other than Secretary Yu Ishigami!

Yes, the subject of the topic earlier in the day was right there the entire time, hearing every word of critique

"I can already hear Prez and Shinomiya chastising me right now if they find out my secret identity." The boy muttered to himself as he continued to swing through the city, "Enough people hate me already."

"And if Fujiwara finds out, I can just imagine her saying 'you go around the city fighting crime in tights? That's Gross Ishigami, I can't believe I was ever a fan of Spider-Man'" It took all of Ishigami's will to not plummet to the ground in despair at the look he was imagining she would get him.

"I especially can't let Iino ever find out," Spider-Man muttered to himself as he landed on the nearest rooftop alert for any wrongdoing, "She hates me enough already for breaking small rules at the school, just imagine if she knew what I was doing now." He then began to imagine the scenario of what would happen if the short auditor ever found out.

"She'd probably be the first to alert the feds and then I'd probably be captured, sent to some far-off laboratory and spend the rest of my days a lab rat," Ishigami muttered to himself

The hero then shuttered at his supposed fate.

Yup, Ishigami once again reaffirmed to himself that he could never let anyone find out who he was.

Firing another web into the distance he once again continued his patrol, searching to aid those in need.

Thankfully he needed not to wait for too long as his senses led him to one of the most cliché things Ishigami had seen in a while…a drug store robbery.

Sneaking quietly on the ceiling Ishigami made his way to the counter where the criminal was holding up a cashier with what looked like a knife.

"Hurry up!" The man yelled, "I want all the money in your till in this bag!"

"I've got to ask," Ishigami interrupted as he lowered himself next to the robber's face, "Of all places you rob why choose a gas station?"

"Huh?!" the man screamed startled by Spiderman's sudden appearance, "Gah, what the hell, who are you?"

"…Really?" Ishigami replied in a deadpan tone, "Do you not watch the news?"

The man didn't respond as he preemptively attacked with his knife, Spider-Man however had no fear as he barely moved his head to dodge the attack.

"Red suit, hanging from a web, incredibly witty, devilishly handsome rogue crime fighter?"

No response again as the man again attempted to hit the hero.

This too was to no avail as Spider-Man once again casually dodged it.

"You know, I'm Spider-Man!"

The thug ignored him as he continued in his futile attempt hit the hero, "Go die!"

"Oh No! A random thug is telling me to die," Spider-Man said derisively as he continued to be just out of reach of the knife "I guess I have no choice but to go die."

He then stopped allowing the man to stab him.

Unfortunately for the criminal, this was Spider-Man and he did not have to weakness to small knives.

"I'm trying to die like you asked," Ishigami mockingly stated as he watched the man's eyes widen in shock, "I don't think it's working."

"Wha…what the hell are you?" The man asked dropping his knife in fear.

"Haven't you been listening? I'm Spider-Man!" Ishigami replied confidently as he smiled underneath his mask.

"Yo-you're a monster!" The criminal said trembling as he turned around and began to run.

"Whoa, why are you running man?" Ishigami asked as he casually fired web at the man's feet catching him before he could get to the door, "I thought we were just getting really close."

Ishigami casually walked towards the man as the robber grabbed items on the shelf and began to throw them at him.

"Don't do that," Ishigami chided as he then shot web to trap the man's hands, "I'm sure our cashier friend has put in a lot of work stocking these shelves."

He then continued to fire more and more web as he continued to leisurely walk towards the criminal.

By the time he got there one could accurately say the robber was in a cocoon.

"But seriously why a drug store?" Ishigami said as he looked the criminal directly in the eyes, "You do know they barely keep any money in the registers, and the reward scenario here isn't worth the risk of an armed robbery charge."

"Fu-" The man attempted to curse out Spider-Man however with one last flip of the wrist our hero fired a web at his mouth shutting him up before he could finish whatever words he wanted to say to the masked vigilante.

"Careful, children may be listening."

Admiring his work Ishigami dusted his hands as he looked back at the cashier who was crouching under the corner.

"Everything's safe now," He called out, "You can come out."

The girl slowly lifted her head eyeing the masked vigilante carefully.

"Are you ok?" Ishigami asked as he made sure the victim was alright.

The cashier slowly nodded her head.

"I recommend calling the police and explaining what happened here so that they could take of our him," Ishigami said as he motioned a hand to the trapped criminal, "I'd wait with you but…let's just say me and the police aren't the closest of friends, but you don't need to worry he won't be going for a long, long time."

He then turned around making his way out the door.

Just as he was about to swing off, he heard the girl call out to him.

"Wait!"

Ishigami stopped turning his head towards the worker.

"Th-Thank you very much!" the girl said as she bowed her in appreciation.

"No problem," Ishigami responded confidently, "After all, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man I'm always here to help!"

And with that he was in the skies again, swinging through the city, continuing to search for those in need of aid.

"Man, I've really gotten the hang of this superhero thing," Ishigami noted to himself as he swung from building to building, "I remember when I just started out and how much of a disaster that was."

Yes, while Yu Ishigami may be an experienced crime fighter now, he was not always like this.

In fact, if you told him a year ago what he was doing he would've not have believed you, after all a year ago he was just a normal teenage boy.

How did he become like this?

Well, it all started with a knock on his bedroom door.

A loud knock quickly woke Yu Ishigami from his sleep.

Who was at the door right now?

It couldn't be his mother, she hadn't talked to him in ages, ever since the incident she could barely look him in the eyes.

It couldn't be his father at this hour he was probably at the company right now, and school didn't start until next week so he would have no reason to wake him up as the man had given up on him ages ago.

"Yu, you better open this door right now or so help me!"

Immediately recognizing the voice Ishigami sprang out of bed, greeting his visitor in shock.

"Ren!" Ishigami exclaimed in shock, "What are you doing here?"

"What do you mean what am I doing here you moron, I live here!"

Ren responded back as he entered the room, eyeing the messy bedroom.

"Jeez Yu, your room is a mess."

"Sorry bro, if I knew you were coming, I would've cleaned it up earlier."

Yes, this was Yu Ishigami's older brother Ren Ishigami.

If one were to compare and observe the two, one would be surprised that they were even related.

Ren was everything Yu was not, he was athletic, intelligent, took care of himself, was not afraid to speak his mind, and was immensely popular with people. In every way possible Yu fell short in comparison to his brother

In addition, if one were to ask their father, he would claim that Ren took all the brains, as evidenced by Ren's academic success graduating top of his class and Shui'ichin and earning acceptance into many famous universities around the world.

"We both know that's a lie, but let's set up a time this week, to clean up this mess, but I've got to ask…" Ren replied as he grabbed a chair and looked his brother in the eyes.

Ishigami knelt down nervously as he waited to see what his brother would ask?

Would he ask about the incident? About why he'd been shut off in his room for the past year?

"Have you been taking care of yourself, you looked malnourished, have you not been eating enough?"

No, it was nothing of the sort, Yu Ishigami had forgotten at that moment that his brother was what one would calling a doting sibling. Unlike most siblings with the genius sibling, foolish sibling dynamic Ren didn't look down on Yu for his shortcomings, instead he loved him all the same.

"Malnourished what are you talking about, I look perfectly healthy!"

"You and I must have very well different definitions of perfect, because this," Ren said as he grabbed the closest mirror and aimed it at his brother, revealing a teenage boy with pale skin and baggy eyes, "Ain't it."

"Screw you," Ishigami responded back as he chucked a pillow at his brother.

"Oh, resorting to violence, are you?" His brother responded back with an eye raised, "Well, let big brother show you what happens when violence is your answer!"

He then jumped onto Yu wrestling him like they were in the past, Yu tried to fight back but it was a futile attempt as his winning record against his brother was as futile as they come.

"Uncle, Uncle!" Yu cried as his brother pinned him to the ground.

"What I'd I tell you," Ren stated proudly as he let Yu go, "All skin and bones."

"I'm sorry I wasn't gifted with your talent," Yu snarked back.

"What are you talking about, we share the same genes…our moms!"

Ishigami couldn't help but laugh at his brother's joke as Ren joined him.

"But seriously what are you doing here," Yu asked as their laughter died down, "I thought you were working in America?"

"I was, but let's just say the winds of change have brought me over back to my home."

Yu raised his eyebrows, "Are you planning on taking over the factory?"

"Hell, Nah!" Ren said resolutely as he crossed his arms, "It's a new research facility funded by the Shinomiya's!"

"I thought you hated the Shinomiya's?"

"Oh, I do, their business practices are absolute scum, but this project has been something I've been helping with for a long time, it's going to do a lot of good and well…we needed the funding."

"So, you sold your morals for money," Yu mocked, "Con-grat-u-la-tions!" he said, clapping on each syllable.

"It wasn't my choice!" Ren said embarrassingly as he threw a pillow at Yu's face, "Besides I did my background research on where the money came from, and it looks clean."

"Whatever eases your conscious man," Yu said as he removed the pillow from his face, "So, what is your project about?"

At that Ren couldn't help but smile deviously.

"Oh, I don't know if I could tell you, Yu," He started, "It's pretty top secret and I'm not allowed to divulge it."

"Bull shit, you wouldn't have brought it up if you weren't planning on telling me."

"You're right," Ren said while sticking his tongue out cheekily, "I guess I might be able to make an exception if you come to visit the place!"

Ishigami felt the world stop.

Leave the comfort of his room and go back out…out there?

"On second thought, I don't need to know."

He wasn't ready to get out yet.

Unfortunately, now that they were on this path Ren would not let Yu off it so easily.

"Come on Yu," Ren complained as he grabbed his brother's shoulder, "You got to get out of the house some time and you'll love what I'm doing!"

Ishigami began to hesitate, it wouldn't be too bad if he visited Ren's workplace, and what were the chances any of his classmates would be there.

"That and if you come, Dinner will be on me."

And that was it, like any normal teenager, it was the free food that hooked the boy.

"Hah…" Ishigami sighed, "ok fine."

"Awesome we'll go now!"

"Now?" Ishigami asked in surprise, "I'm not ready to go now!"

"Then get ready, get clean cause we are going to go now!" Ren said as he stood and began to leave.

"Ren wait!" Ishigami cried out before his brother left the room.

"I'm not waiting… Yu I know you've been struggling the past few months but trust me when I say this…you can't just keep hiding away in your room." Ren said as he stopped at the door.

And there it was the elephant in the room.

It couldn't be helped, even though the conservation between the two brothers had been relatively tame, what eventually happened would eventually have to be talked about, the reason why his parents had basically disowned him, why he had become a shut-in, and most likely why his was brother was acting like this right now.

"I…I swear it wasn't my fault!"

"I never said it was," Ren nonchalantly responded, "Now like I said get ready because we are going to be late."

Wait, seriously did Ren not want to talk about the incident?

"Aren't you curious about what happened?"

Ren paused thinking about it, before muttering his answer, "I would be lying if I were to say I wasn't, but I won't pry until you feel comfortable talking about it."

And with that, his brother left the room.

Ishigami looked down as soon as his brother left, tears filling his eyes. He really was superior to him in every way.

But despite that Yu couldn't feel bitter because he loved his brother, he was basically a real live hero, Yu couldn't help but feel lucky to be even associated with him.

Wiping his tears Yu began to prepare himself for the day, wondering what kind of things his brother was going to show him.

Results of Today's Battle: Ren Ishigami…Wins.
