Chapter 1: Prologue

Author's note: Hey guys/girls/others, I'm back with a new crossover, and this one is with the smurfs and My Little Pony (specifically G4, neither of which I own). A few weeks ago, I caught myself watching My Little Pony just to see what all the fuss was about, eventually I ended up watching the whole series (including the movies and specials). I've been meaning to make this for a while, that's why I cut my previous story short, and also because I wanted to be in the big leagues of fandoms but that's besides the point. Anyways, I'm smurfing out the usual disclaimer.

Disclaimer: I do not own the smurfs, they are owned by Peyo. I do not own My Little Pony or its characters, they are owned by Hasbro. I only own Hector, Emily, Cindy, Vego, Critic Smurf, SmurfKilt, SmurfGag, SmurfWrench, SmurfPaper, and SmurfPaint because they are my OCs. SmurfAggie appears courtesy of author I M Rally. I also do not own the song or lyrics featured, some lyrics might be changed. If the song is a parody, I don't own the song it is based on. Anyways, enjoy.

One year ago…

Back when Hector lived in Smurfy Grove, he would always take a walk through the forest every Sunday just to see more of the Forbidden Forest before Emily visits. But one day, Hector heard something he had never heard before.

"Hello! Is anypony out there?! I need help!" yelled a mysterious voice deep in the forest.

"Anypony?" Hector asked himself, but he just shrugged it off and went towards the voice. "Don't worry, I'll help you!" He went to the mysterious voice, and eventually found a little filly (a young female pony). She had yellow fur, a red mane, and a big red bow on her head. She also had her hoof stuck under a rock, and she couldn't get out.

"Please, help me," said the little filly.

"Don't worry, I'll handle this," said Hector. He then used all the strength in his little blue body to lift the rock off of the filly's hoove. "There, are you okay?"

The little filly tried to walk, but her hoove kept acking as she walked. "Ow! My hoof is still sore, I don't think I can make it back home," said the filly, as she began to cry.

Hector then got an idea. "I'll take you to Smurfy Grove, I'll help you with your hoof until it heals up," he said, before he remembered that he didn't introduce himself. "By the way, my name is Hector, and I'm a Smurf."

"I'm Apple Bloom, and I'm a pony," said Apple Bloom. Hector then picked up Apple Bloom, and carried her all the way to Smurfy Grove.

Once he got to Smurfy Grove, he met up with SmurfWillow and SmurfStorm (his mom). "Hector, what's going on?" asked SmurfWillow.

"This is Apple Bloom, and she's hurt her hoof," said Hector. "Can we help her, please?"

"Yes, of course we'll help her," said SmurfStorm, as she helped Hector carry Apple Bloom to the infirmary.

A few days passed and Apple Bloom's hoof finally healed, but she enjoyed staying in Smurfy Grove so much, she didn't want to leave all her new friends behind.

"Thanks for taking care of me these past few days, I really wish I could stay here," said Apple Bloom.

"We know you like it here, but you have a family that loves you, and they're probably looking for you as we're talking. You belong with them, and they need you more than you need them," said SmurfStorm. "I should know, I would do the same for my son."

"It's true, she even strangled a bear when I was just a baby," said Hector.

"Now that's what I call an overprotective mother," said Apple Bloom. "I guess my family does need me more than I need them. I'll go back home, but I want Hector to visit whenever he wants to."

"Deal, but I want to meet your family and friends when we get there," said Hector.

"Okay, hop on," said Apple Bloom, to which Hector, Clumsy, SmurfStorm, SmurfWillow, SmurfAggie, SmurfBlossom, and SmurfLily, got on the filly's back, followed by her making her way back to ponyville.

About five minutes passed before Apple Bloom found the tunnel she took to get to the Forbidden Forest. She was a little scared, but she had to put on a face of bravery and she walked into the tunnel. Hector noticed she was a little bit frightened.

"Don't worry Apple Bloom, once we're on the other side of the tunnel you'll be home safe and sound," said Hector, but it didn't seem to work. Just then, Hector got an idea, and began to sing.

Hector: In the tunnel, the smurfy tunnel

The darkness sleeps tonight

In the tunnel, the quiet tunnel

The darkness sleeps tonight

Apple Bloom started to feel a little better, and before she knew it, ponyville was just a marathon away.

Hector: Near the village, the peaceful village

The darkness sleeps tonight

Near the village, the quiet village

The darkness sleeps tonight

Apple Bloom then smiled the biggest smile she ever smiled, and while Hector prepared to sing the next verse, Apple Bloom saw her home, Sweet Apple Acres.

Hector: Hush young filly, don't fear young filly

The darkness sleeps tonight

Hush young filly, don't fear young filly

The darkness sleeps tonight

By the time Hector finished singing, Apple Bloom and the smurfs were at Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack, Apple Bloom's big sister, was looking worried, until she saw her sister walking towards her.

"Apple Bloom! You're okay!" said Applejack, as she gave her little sister a big hug. "I was so worried about you, don't you ever scare me like that again." She then looked at Apple Bloom's back, and saw the smurfs. "Uh, care to explain why there's little elves on your back?"

"First off, they're not elves, they're smurfs," said Apple Bloom. "And second, they took care of me for the past week after I hurt my hoof. Especially this one named Hector." She pointed at Hector, who waved at Applejack. Just then, Applejack gave Hector a big hug, so big that he could barely hug back.

"Thank you so much for taking care of my little sister, I didn't think she would ever come home, but why did you help her?" asked Applejack.

"Because, it was the right thing to do," said Hector, which surprised the other smurfs. Hector rarely ever does the right thing, and even when he does it's either because he was forced to or because he would get something in return. "I couldn't stand seeing a little filly in danger, I just had to help her. I didn't do it out of pity, I did it because it was the right thing to do."

Applejack started tearing up, tears of joy dripping from her eyes. "That was very nice of you, Hector. If you want, you can visit ponyville and the rest of equestria whenever you want," said Applejack, to which Hector and the other smurfs accepted the offer.

A few months later…

A few months have passed since Hector's brave act, and the word spread across equestria like chicken pox. One day, Hector got a letter from the magic mailbox Twilight Sparkle made for him.

The letter read:

Dear Hector,

Due to your act of bravery a couple of months ago, we will be throwing a big party in your honor. You can bring as many friends as you want, we'll have enough room at Princess Celestia's castle considering you're three apples tall. We also have a big surprise for you, so don't be late.

Sincerely, Princess Twilight Sparkle.

"Holy Smurf! I gotta get to equestria," said Hector. He then told his parents, SmurfBlossom, SmurfAggie, SmurfWillow, and SmurfLily to come with him, picked out his green jazz musician suit, and used his new equestrian-made smurfportation crystals to transport them all to equestria in less than 15 minutes.

"Hector, you made it. Great to see you again," said Pinkie Pie, as she led the smurfs inside the castle. "I still can't believe that you helped Apple Bloom just because you wanted to do it. That was a really nice thing to do."

"Thanks, Pinkie Pie. But are you sure saving a little filly is worth a big party, let alone in a castle?" asked Hector, before Clumsy (Hector's dad) quickly shushed him.

"Relax, just accept the reward you actually worked for while the night is still young," said Clumsy.

Once they were in the castle, all the smurfs talked about their smurfy lives with the ponies of equestria. After about half an hour, Princess Celestia silenced the crowd to make an announcement.

"As you all know, we are here to celebrate our friendly little Smurf friend, Hector," said Princess Celestia, causing everyone to cheer, and Hector to blush. "Now, because of Hector's brave and noble deed, our very own Princess Twilight Sparkle and her girlfriend Sunset Shimmer will present Hector with a very great honor."

Twilight and Sunset walked up to Hector (who was hoping Sunset Shimmer wasn't still mad at him for pulling her skirt down on the other side of the mirror portal), to which he walked 20% closer.

"Hector, because of your noble deed, we are awarding you the title of: Prince Hector Smurf," said Twilight Sparkle, as she used her magic to give Hector a crown shaped like his beanie. "We are all very proud of you."

After that day, Hector was always referred to as Prince Hector by all the residents of equestria. And even after Hector moved to Smurf Village (and then moved the village to modern day New York), he still kept in touch with his pony friends. That includes what happened one day…

Pretty good start if I do say so myself. I'm honestly surprised that it took me a short time to write this first chapter. Maybe it's because I have more faith in this than Smurf Park 2, or because I'm treating this like a passion project, either way this will have a very good story that's better than the other mlp/smurfs crossovers that I've read (no offense to anyone who wrote those). At this rate I'll be done with this by the end of the summer (I hope). Well, see you guys next time.
