Chapter 1: The Green Bull
When the king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger was executed in Baterilla, intending to end piracy, he said this-
"You want my treasure, you can have it I left everything I gathered together in one place. Now you'll just have to find it."
With this, he started the Golden Age of Piracy, with all pirates searching for it.
Present
After defeating two of the Four Emperors and escaping the Marines for the umpteenth time, the Strawhats head to the next destination...but something feels different.
The Thousand Sunny, is a brigantine, a type of ship that relies on the skills of its navigator. The ship has a lawn on her deck, complete with a swing and a slide, as well as an observation tower for a crow's nest. The huge masts give the ship extreme maneuverability. Much like its previous life, the Going Merry, the figurehead is an animal's head, specifically a lion with a stylized mane. The ship holds sixteen cannons: seven traditional cannons on each side of the ship and two specialized air cannons—the Gaon Cannon in the figurehead and the Coup de Burst cannon astern.
"Day 2: The skies are blue. Sanji gets kicked for the 6,600,000,000th time for being annoying to Nami. He then cooks a meal 40 minutes later. He looks at something on the ground for 5 seconds," Yamato read aloud as he wrote it down. Yamato is biologically an 8-foot 8-inch tall woman that had long, white hair that is bound between orange rods into a ponytail at the back, which fades into aqua green and then blue the further down it goes, and ends in rectangular locks. He had large, orange eyes with prominent eyelashes, wears gold hoop earrings on both ears, and has horns on the top of his head which are mostly red, but gradually become more flesh-colored toward the base. He wears a sleeveless white garment with a diamond-shaped design on both sides and an indigo, wisp-patterned bottom half. He wears a pair of red hakama pants and sandals, and, much like Oden, wears a large purple and white nio-dasuki behind his back.
Yamato- Chronologer
"You don't need to record everything. Just the important things.," said Nico Robin as she came over to Yamato. Nico Robin is a tall and slender young woman with wide blue-iris eyes with visible pupils, long limbs, a long, thin defined nose, and back-length black hair. Her outfit is a long salmon sarong skirt with a partially-zipped navy blue leather vest with a V-neckline and an image of her Devil Fruit or of an actual Chrysanthemum morifolium is printed on the left breast near the shoulder that exposed her stomach, pink high-heeled pumps, and a pink backpack. She wears orange sunglasses which she hangs on her forehead.
Nico Robin- Archaeologist
"But, something might happen that will be important later," the oni replied.
"Yamato! Let's play!" said a white-furred, blonde-haired rabbit humanoid- a mink with brown iris eyes, rabbit ears, a rabbit-like nose, a large round fluffy tail, but with a body otherwise similar to that of a human adolescent girl. She wears an orange crop top with a black shirt with pink sandals. Her previous short blond hair was now ankle-length with volumetric and flowing locks. She also has a neck collar resembling a lion's mane.
Carrot- Official Nurse
"I'm busy recording everything. Go play with Chopper, Carrot.," sighs Yamato.
Carrot blushes when Chopper's name is mentioned.
"Seems like you've begun your training to integrate your Sulong form into the day as well, and it's going smoothly.," said Robin.
Having seen the Poneglyph archives given to her by Momosuke just before she left, her translation led to results that weren't as revealing of the Void Century's beginning and ending- important events, etc, but gave rather subtle hints that maybe society was much different than. At the very least, they provided important instructions that led to enhancements for her crew in terms of training and their endeavors. The one thing that did stick out was a phrase mentioning Devils- something that was to warn about.
I can't believe it's this has produced such results. It seems like Minks used to have Sulong forms at will, and as for the others..., thought the raven-haired woman.
"WHOOOOAAAAA!," said a voice as it landed on the deck, having been sent up above the stratosphere. The man gets up and scratches his head.
"Damn! I didn't think we were capable of space travel. These wise guys were SUPER advanced for their time!" the man said as he got to his feet.
The man has a powerfully built physique of at least seven feet. His eyebrows are rather long and stern, and he has three prominent lower Matsuge on each eye. His chin is very angular and tapers off in three-pointed clefts. He has an equally angular prosthetic nose made of iron with several rivets and jagged edges. He has cyan hair styled in a pompadour. He has two stitch-mark scars on his torso running down from the back of his neck indicating that he had sewn his skin back on. He has studded robotic hands with red fingers. He wears metal-rigged suspenders. He has replaced his elbows with large, light blue hinges, his shoulders with a large red ball and socket joint with "BF-37" written on them, and his forearms with large, light blue cubes, with his trademark star tattoo being split by an edge. Surprisingly, his forearms also have hair on them even though they are clearly robotic. He wears a red coconut tree-motived Hawaiian shirt and red swim briefs.
Franky- Shipwright
"Heresy! There is nothing about the world.," shouted a voice in the distance.
"Can it!" the cyborg shouted.
"If they wanted us dead before. I guess they'll have all of our heads hanged for our involvement with defeating two of the Emperors.," said Robin with a smile.
Franky and Carrot shuddered.
Oh crap! She's right!, thought the two.
"If we die! Then let it be glorious!," Yamato said before Franky held her back.
"Don't talk like that. It's one thing the Marines are after us like usual, but it's more frequent! And additionally...," said a slightly annoyed voice as she came up on deck.
She is a slim young woman of average height with orange hair and brown iris eyes. She has a tattoo of a blue on her left shoulder, resembling a mikan with pinwheels. On her left wrist, she wears the Log Pose, which she needs in order to be the navigator of the ship and a gold bracelet. She wears orange high-heeled gladiator sandals and a black belt with four spheres on it- red, blue, yellow, and white respectively. She currently wears her back-length long hair in a ponytail, a sleeveless denim jacket over a revealing green and white bikini halter top, tight low-rider jeans (that expose a few of her hips and rear), orange high-heeled sandals, and a pair of pearl-like earrings that she constantly wears.
Nami- Navigator
"Are the Pirates and Marines working together? They seem close.," Carrot noted.
"No, they just happen to be good at trailing us, they likely are ignoring the Marines out of sheer sycophantic devotion.," Robin explained.
"Great. We have Pirates that want to join the fleet Luffy's annoyed at having on top of the Marines chasing us more and more. They seem to be fanboys.," said the oranged-haired woman with an annoyed sigh.
"They're more like parasites jumping from one big fish to the bigger one. Big Mom and Kaido died-," said a carefree, confident voice.
"Nah, Ussop. I sense their voices. They're alive! Guess I get a chance to beat down her too since we never had a proper conclusion! I don't count Law and Kid's defeat of her as a proper victory!" said the other voice, which was laidback and energetic.
"Eh?! How tough are they?!," asked the first voice in a louder, panicked tone.
"Still, they're isolated to their crews since their supporters ditched them. That said, these crews are still stronger than most of the pirate crews regardless of our defeat of one of them. Aside from Big Mom's intel network, that along with Doflamingo are what truly keeps the world informed about events. And more importantly, focusing mostly on us.," said a gravelly, deep voice.
"So she's keeping tabs on us? Boy does she have a grudge? Why isn't she focusing on Kid and Law that took over her territories?" asked a suave voice.
"Because she sees Luffy as the start of her problems and believes that she can wipe the other two once she's defeated him.," said a gentlemanly voice.
"And your bounty's as high as Rogers now that you've defeated Kaido...Guess, you're the biggest fish in the sea.," said a rugged voice.
"But, there's Shanks and Blackbeard. We still gotta beat them right?" asked a youthful voice.
"I'm gonna beat them, but they're not doing anything to hurt anybody we care about- Shanks' the best guy, he'd never do anything bad! Besides, we gotta find One Piece. And then they'll have no choice but to back down." said the energetic voice.
"Blackbeard doesn't seem like the type to give up gracefully, he seems more like he'll snatch One Piece under you and stab you in your sleep.," said the more nervous voice.
"Die Strawhat!," shouted a Marine lieutenant on a ship.
"Take us with you Straw Hat as your followers!," shouted a pirate Captain on another ship.
"It's annoying that we're being tailed everywhere. The Marines hate for being the Emperor that took over the other two's territories and is near the end of the Grand Line. How'd they even get here so fast?!," asked Nami.
"I think Apoo overheard our goal to reach Elbaf to recruit the Giants to our cause to reach One Piece and relayed it to the news. It'll be a powerful attack force to contend with, enough to warrant the concern of all remaining factions.," explained Robin.
"I don't wanna make them fight for me if they don't wanna. If they have a bastard making them sad, I'll beat them, if they're a guy or girl, up and we party the next day.," said the energetic voice as he came into view.
The men got out of the training hall to see the incoming fleet.
A slim, muscular, long-legged man with blond hair which he kept brushed over the right side of his face. He has a spiral but at different ends. His right eyebrow forms a spiral at the outer end, while his left eyebrow forms a spiral at the inner end which used to be on the right side, but is now on the left side like his siblings. He wears a black double-breasted suit with golden buttons and a yellow dress shirt together with a brown tie. He wears dress shoes. He has grayish-blue iris eyes and a dark anchor style facial hair, with stubble on his upper lip.
Vinsmoke Sanji- Cook.
A muscular man of average height with lightly tanned skin. He always carries his three swords along with him, bundled up with a green haramaki over his right hip, allowing him to easily draw them with his left hand. He has three identical gold earrings on his left earlobe. He has a scar over his left eye. He has cropped slicked-back green hair. He wears a long, open dark-green coat closed on his waist that's held by a red sash, into which his three swords are tucked. His black bandanna is tied around his left forearm. His coat exposes his bare chest, revealing his green haramaki underneath the coat.
Roronoa Zoro- Combatant/1st Mate.
A large blue whale shark fish-man and the current tallest member of the Straw Hat Pirates at 9'10 feet tall. He has a stocky build similar to that of a sumo wrestler and a face that is commonly associated with various Japanese demons such as the oni. His yellow eyebrows and sideburns are distinctly shaped like those found on such demons, in addition to a bulb-like nose and an angular lower lip pointing upwards. He has a lightning-shaped scar that can be seen from his left sideburn. He also possesses two tusk-like conical lower fangs associated with Oni as well; the rest of his teeth from the upper and lower rows are pretty much the same, albeit much smaller. He also has a severe underbite, which makes room for his huge fangs.
He has long, two-toned black hair, with two long stripes, colored gold in the manga and white in the anime, coming from the roots over his forehead and trailing down the back, a topknot, and a tuft of hair on his chin with a slightly green hue. This topknot did not exist during his time as a member of the Sun Pirates, instead, his shorter and flowing black hair trails off halfway to a light color concentrated at the back of his head. He kept his chin clean-shaven before joining the Sun Pirates, after which it gradually grew out over time. His hands and feet are also webbed, typical for a fish-man, and his limbs are somewhat thin in comparison with his enormous girth. His gills, which are pale and pinkish in color, are in between his shoulders and neck.
Under his black coat, he appears to be wearing a Coral colored traditional Japanese clothing covered all over with black and white square-shaped patterns with the black and white layers alternating each other beginning with the black outline from the edge and ending with a dark square at the middle of each and every one of them. He also ties this attire up with a purple obi like a ribbon around his waist.
Jinbe- Helmsman/Former Warlord
An extremely tall skeleton at 8'8 feet with a top hat and a cane. He currently wearing a top vest complete with coattails, with a vertical monochromatic pattern with black on the right side with the left being white, a gray buttoned undershirt, a purple cravat, the pants with the same vertical monochrome pattern as the vest. In spite of being a skeleton, the still has an afro which he says is because his hair has very strong roots.
Brook- Musician/Swordsman
An anthropomorphic reindeer with the left antler is braced at the base by a metal plate because it was reattached after an incident in his past. He wears a blue cap that has a ring of dots around the circle, while the cap has buckles hanging from it. Underneath is a pink fuzzy top hat with a sideways medical cross. He wears a blue backpack with the same sideways cross and a maroon pair of shorts. He currently has an open red leather jacket on him. He also has a blue nose. Unusually, instead of his usual toddler-sized self, he looked more like a young teen that was almost as tall as his captain.
Tony-Tony Chopper- Doctor
A muscular, tan-skinned young adult with black-length curly black hair, prominent lips, and a long nose. He wears green goggles with blue on his head, a green open jacket with a ring of circles on the arms, and a green hat with a yellow sun symbol. He also wears brown rounded shoes with yellow baggy pants.
Usopp- Sniper
And lastly, the leader of this crew- a young man with black shaggy hair, round black eyes, and a slim muscular build. He wears an open, long-sleeved red cardigan with four buttons, a yellow sash, tied around his waist, short, blue trousers with white cuffs, and sandals. He has a scar under his left eye. He wears a straw, rounded hat with a red band.
Monkey D. Luffy- Captain.
Carrot noticeably blushed when she saw Chopper, which Nami noticed.
"As the strongest number three I-," Sanji said with confidence.
"Actually, you're more like number 4 with Yamato here.," said the swordsman.
"But she's a-," Sanji said before Luffy stomped on his right foot.
"Sanji! He's a guy! Yamato says he is. So he is. What's wrong with that?" said the black-haired young man as he huffed in annoyance.
"But, she's got a-," said Sanji before Zoro smirked.
"He did fight on Kaido's level and you barely took out the third in command, so it's pretty fair. Damn Cook.," said Zoro before the two got into their typical scuffle.
"Moss-ball head!," Sanji shouted during the bout.
"Sanji and Zoro once again duel for the 15,700,600th time. Their battle will be legendary!," Yamato narrated aloud as she wrote it down with a pen and paper.
"Don't Yamato. They're just venting out like usual.," said Nami with exasperation.
"I'm satisfied with being no. 5 for Sir Luffy.," said Jinbei.
"That's neat.," Brooks replied.
"I think it's not a normal fleet guys! It's all of the Vice Admirals and this weird green guy.," said Chopper.
"That's Ryoguku, the Green Bull. He's one of the newer Admirals! He's not like the others that are Logias or Fujitota with his Gravity powers. He's a Zoan of immense power on par with the Emperors.," said Robin.
Luffy took a deep breath as he jumped to the back of the ship.
"An Admiral, it's my first step to see how I measure up now.," said Luffy.
He then stretched his hand as he grabbed the front of the Admiral's ship. He then propelled himself towards the shop.
"Hey, we don't know what kind of enemy he is!," Ussop said.
"Since Luffy has that power. Then I doubt this Admiral stands a chance.," Yamato said with confidence.
Admiral Ship
Luffy after landing on the ship jumped in front of a very tall and lanky man the same size as his fellow Admirals. He had dark greenish, wavy long hair, a typical Marine Admiral overcoat over a green buttoned Hawaiian shirt with black hoove markings, a pair of black shorts, and a long-chinned face, a goatee, small white horns poking out of his head, wide grinning eyes? and a long narrow nose.
Ryoguku- The Green Bull- Admiral
"Straw Hat!," shouted Vice Admiral Stainless, a very tall man with a well-built body. He has a handlebar mustache with black and combed back with a scalp lock. He wears o a yellow and black striped suit over a dark red shirt with an orange tie. He wears a marine coat hanging from his shoulders like a cape. He pulled out a katana as he beckoned his troops to fire.
Stainless- Vice Admiral
Ryokugyu hugged Stainless in his right arm to Luffy's confusion.
"W-what is this?!," the vice admiral shouted.
"Don't you have observation Haki on?," he whispered, his voice having an informal and tough tone.
"We can finally manage to defeat him with the man surrounded.," Stainless angrily whispered.
"And be knocked to the ground for trying. Out of the vice admirals alive, I see only Garp and Tsuru taking him down to be blunt. And to be honest, it's 50-50 chance that either me or the kid will go down. He defeated Kaido alone. Despite the news, I doubt he defeated both- the other Supernovas took out Big Mom. If he did indeed defeat both, then I see Kizaru, Fujitora, and Akainu having a hard time. I'm going out to discover what defeated the strongest creature. The others can find out through my defeat how to counter it Watch how he fights and keep the Den Den to record this.," the larger man whispered.
"Admiral...," Stainless replied.
The vice admiral withdrew his sword and he gestured the crew to not fire.
The tall man then released Stainless as Ryokugyu cracked his neck and fingers.
"These fellas won't interfere! Let's settle this man to man.," the green shirt man told Luffy as he threw a right hook.
"You're weird.," Luffy noted as he threw a punch to match Ryokugyu's.
Black sparks flew as the soldiers were sent flying.
Thousand Sunny
Usopp looked on as Luffy matched blow to blow with Ryokugyu.
"Seems like the Admiral's enjoying the fact that Luffy can't hit him.," Nami noted.
"Ryokugyu is a man that lives to fight. He was a delinquent in his academy days. He never obeyed direct orders and did what justice was meant to do- protect the weak. In spite of his temperament, he was promoted after Aokiji left to fill the void.," Robin explained.
"So what's this power up Luffy has?," asked Franky.
"It's like the sun. And full of madness.," said Yamato.
"That's vague.," Sanji noted.
Ryokugyu's Ship
Luffy had already activated his Snake Man and Boundman forms, but the Admiral was able to pummel through the forms with ease, forcing the young man to the ground.
"Damn, I thought I'd be able to wear you down.," Luffy yelled aloud.
The tall man narrowed his eyes as he said-
"Gyu-Gyu-Gyu. You have another form in the burner. You're gonna lose if you don't have it.," said the man.
"I guess you are that tough.," Luffy replied
Luffy's clothes turned white as well as his hair. His eyes gained a red ripple design as white clouds float around his neck. Luffy then grinned as he looked manic.
"I'm gonna take you down cow...," said Luffy before noticing Ryokugyu transforming, but not having bovine features, but rather reptilian.
Luffy did an eye-pop as he looked at the dinosaur in front of him. It has two forward pointing horns.
"The Dragon-Dragon Fruit Model: Giganotosaurus.," explained the Admiral as he dashed with his jaws wide open.
Luffy flattened his body to look like a painting to avoid the attack.
So it does act different than the previous forms. Seems like one of those comics I used to read., thought Ryokugyu as he halted as Luffy got up and expanded himself.
"How about this?!," Luffy shouted as he spun like a tornado as he propelled wildly at Ryokugyu.
The dinosaur jumped and dashed, spinning like a drill.
"It's bullshit that'll make a paleontologist cry, but if it works, I don't see the problem!," the Admiral yelled as he clashed with Luffy.
The two went dizzy after the clash.
"They're mad sir.," a soldier observed.
"Yes, but we need this insanity to win!," Stainless replied.
Ryokugyu then looked up, seeing Luffy as a gigantic version of himself as he prepared a punch barrage.
"Gum-Gum-," Luffy said before seeing Ryokugyu crouch down.
He then jumped as he opened his jaws onto Luffy.
"That's not gonna-," The straw hat said before the dinosaur turned his horns to the side to propel away from Luffy's head and then move towards the clouds, tearing them apart.
Luffy shrank and returned to normal as he fell into the deck of the Marine ship.
I snuck into the forbidden archives to learn about the Human-Human Fruit: Nika. The loop maintains the power and losing it causes the form to deactivate. That's how Joyboy was finally defeated., thought the Admiral as he turned back to normal.
"I thought I was a goner. I'm glad I did my research on this. Yup, the loop is the weak point.," said the Admiral as he pulled out a soda to drink.
As he tossed it aside, he gestured for the vice admiral to pull out Seastone cuffs.
"That straw hat belonged to Gol D. Roger. And he got it from the man that he admired, Merry D. Go. And Merry D. Go got it from Nick D. Jolly. And it all trails back to Boy D. Joy. You have a seemingly insignificant, but vital part of victory. So I'm calling you Luffy since it's redundant.," said Ryokugyu as he crouched down to look at Luffy.
Luffy gritted his teeth in frustration.
"You can have all the power in the world and creativity to use it, but you need more than training your body and learning the special arts to be one of the best. It's this.," the Admiral said as he tapped his right temple.
As Luffy was about to be arrested, a purple blast propelled towards the ship.
"Haki?! Rokushiki?! An advanced cannon?! What is that?!," shouted Stainless.
Ryokugyu summoned his tail to deflect the attack to the sky.
He then saw a giant hand grab Luffy and toss him back to the Thousand Sunny.
The Admiral noticed the waters becoming rougher as he noticed the silhouettes of the gigantic animals.
"We can't go further. We'd lose our forces for no reason. We'll get them once they get out of here. Even if we did go there- it's under his territory. He's not one to mess with, even with the whole military. We would somehow need to have something bigger than both Kaido and Big Mom to face him.," said the Admiral as he turned around.
"But, the Fleet Admiral-," Stainless said.
"Did you see how Luffy's form was defeated?," asked Ryokugyu.
The vice admiral nodded nervously.
"We'll be able to counter it now we know its weak point. Relay it to our forces. Also, let's get piercing seastone bullets, he's immune to blunt force.," the Admiral said.
I also find this place ominous...I feel almost sorry for them..., the tall man thought as he looked as the Straw Hats traversed into Warland.
Next Chapter: Elbaf
Author Notes: This is my take of the Elbaf arc. I hope you like it.
I based Ryokugyu on what little we got from him so far and I made him a dinosaur zoan to make him unique. He's a crazy punk, but one with a righteous heart.
I think like Kozuki Oden, Yamato will be the Chronologer, so I had him follow in his footsteps. And like most Strawhats, it's his quirk to make him stand out to record everything.
