Part One: Pepper Potts
Peter Parker was an intelligent young man. With soft brown curls, hazel eyes, with a small smile that made anyone's day brighten up. He was also crafty, reckless, and selfless. With a tendency to climb ceilings.
One thing no one took into account was how good an Entourage he was.
It was late November when the wedding planning began. Pepper Potts was ahead of schedule, organizing priority over wants, forcing her strict CEO attitude on her Fiance more than once. Pre-ordering invites, researching catery, and other wedding necessities that were being checked off the list except two important items. The Wedding Dress and the Wedding Setting.
Peter watched from the sidelines for months helping when he could, but honestly he stepped to the side and watched in fascination at how well Pepper worked. The woman never did it alone, soon enough the rest of the women joined in on the planning, pushing aside the men who threw in a suggestion here and there, taking complete control of the event.
One problem was finding a place to hold the wedding. Peter and Ned sat on the couch sipping sodas in the Compound living room watching Mr. Stark pace back and forth. Pepper and the ladies sat in the kitchen with glasses of wine, watching Tony anxiously think.
"Okay, so having a wedding in New York is a no go." He muttered to himself.
Peter took a sip of his Sprite. "Well, May through July is a hotspot for weddings. You would probably have to reserve a year before maybe even later just to get a reservation."
Hope nodded, she opened her phone. "Well 620 Loft Garden is a no. That place is booked up until next April. Sunset Terrace is willing to make adjustments, but even for the Wedding of the Century that ain't going to cut it."
Tony sighed sitting down next to Peter stealing his soda. "Hey!"
"Can it kid. I need this more than you." he shot back, tipping his head back and finishing the beverage. Peter slouched back into the couch as he scoffed.
Pepper tapped her chin. "I mean we are not obligated to have it in New York. There are many other places we could try."
Laura hummed, tracing the edge of her glass. "Pepper, Tony, how are you against outdoor weddings? I know you are willing to give it a go if nothing else is available, but what about a first-on-the-list choice?"
Pepper's eyes narrowed a bit. "What are you up to?"
Laura smiled. "I think I might have found the perfect location and away from the Paparazzi's reach."
Tony glanced over at the kid who shrugged. He clicked his tongue. "That sounds perfect to me."
"I haven't even told you yet." Laura quipped back.
"If there is a place where those Vultures can't reach, I wouldn't care if it was in the Sahara Desert. I would give anyone the green light." Tony responded back with a snark.
The women rolled their eyes at the man. "Why not the farm? We have acres of land that we could use, and Clint can easily build an altar. No paparazzi will know because the farm doesn't exist. If you ask me, that is the perfect place for a grand wedding."
Cassie's mother grinned. "Scott has a friend back East who can give the paparazzi a run for their money if they're being short, stubborn roaches."
Hope raised an eyebrow. "This wouldn't be the same man who scammed the Ambassador of Russia three years ago would it?"
"Oh yeah, Scott and the boys wouldn't shut up about it. If I can get in contact with him he could easily create a fake trail for those heathens to rush after." Maggie reasoned as she poured herself another glass.
Ned leaned over next to Peter. "Dude, they could get away with murder and we would never know it!"
Peter nodded slowly. He didn't doubt that for a second. "Just be thankful they are on our side."
"Amen to that, kid." Tony said, running a hand through his hair.
Pepper gave her friend a smile. "You sure it wouldn't be any trouble?"
"I wouldn't have offered it, Pep. We are going to make this the perfect wedding for the two of you. We'll make it worth memorable."
Pepper typed a few things on her laptop before closing it, glancing over at her friends. "Well then, Barton farm it is."
oOo
The next problem was finding a wedding dress. It was decided long ago that they would go to a friend of Pepper's in Atlanta, Georgia. The morning of, Peter was playing a few rounds of Fortnite on his Nintendo switch when the whole Entourage came into the living room. They were packed up for the trip and a few extra suitcases for a weekend getaway. Pepper had a few handbags draped on her arm, her hair pulled into a sharp ponytail, wearing a white button down dress shirt and a slim pair of jeans. Hope, Laura, Maggie, and even May were talking loudly toward one another while Peter hid against the couch. He continued to play his rounds as the ladies grabbed some last minute items.
Hope grabbed a glass from the cabinet above her, grabbing the orange juice from the fridge. She poured herself a glass heading to the couch where she spotted a mop of brown curls. She snickered as she ruffled his hair earning a surprised squeak from the boy. "Morning, Brown eyes."
"Not funny." The boy muttered. Another player from the game sniped him from the left, killing him instantly. He turned the console off, throwing it on the couch. "You guys leaving?"
"In an hour or two I think. Pepper needs to settle a few things with SI. What are your plans while we're gone?" Hope asked, resting her shoulder blades into the couch, taking a few sips of her drink.
He laid his head against her leg. "I actually don't know. Me and Mr. Stark was going to work in the lab, but he got called in."
"Where did he go?" She asked.
Peter shrugged. "I think he got called into an Accord meeting. It was scheduled for a later date, but two of the representatives wouldn't be able to make it, so they decided today was a better option." Peter paused. "Mr. Stark didn't think so. He said some… interesting stuff."
Hope grinned. "Oh, yeah? Like what?"
Peter's cheeks turned crimson. "I don't think I should. May would have a fit if she heard me repeat it, and then she'll kill Tony. And I really want to see the Wedding, not the funeral."
Hope chuckled. This boy was too easy. "Well that could take forever. Why don't you come with us?"
"Aren't you guys going to be gone for the weekend?" He reminded.
Hope shrugged before yelling into the kitchen. "Pepper! Your fiance abandoned Peter."
"He did WHAT?!" She called back, emerging from the kitchen with a few bowls in her hands.
Peter let out a squeak, jumping to his feet, giving Hope a glare, who merely smirked. "Emergency Accord meetings."
Pepper breathed out slowly and glared fire at the woman. "Hope, you almost made me kill my fiance."
Hope raised her glass as a toast. "Like you need my help for that, Pep."
May stood next to her nephew, rolling her eyes. She looked toward Peter. "Then who's going to watch over you?"
"May, I'm sixteen not five." Peter argued, sheepishly. He would rather discuss this somewhere else. Or no where if that's an option.
Laura tugged over some suitcases for the weekend retreat, setting them down by the kitchen table. "Honey, no offense, but you could get into trouble in an empty room."
The ladies all gave their affirmations on the statement leaving the boy blushing, and a broken ego. "Do not." He muttered as he decided to make a bowl of cereal.
Hope joined him, stealing the milk before he could grab it. "I offered to take him with us."
Maggie took a bite out of her muffin. "Fine by me. We could use a plus one."
Pepper looked over to May who shrugged. "Fine by me if it's okay with you." Peter was seated, eating his breakfast as the women decided his weekend plans. He didn't mind going. As a matter of fact, he was actually hoping they did let him attend. May walked by him giving his cheek a pat which left him his mouth open in shock. "He can carry the luggage."
"I love you too, May." He muttered into his cereal.
Pepper smiled. "Grab what you need Peter, you're coming with us."
oOo
The flight over was quick and they landed on a private landing strip east of Atlanta. He helped them get their luggage as a SUV pulled in as their ride. Pepper spoke with the pilot for a few minutes while Peter and Laura made sure everyone had what they needed. She made a checklist that reminded him of Harley's mom when she and her sisrer came down from Tennessee. It must be a country thing. City people just scan the selves picking up items they think they need. Peter called shotgun as he helped the Chaperone pack in the luggage that will be sent over to their hotel while they head off dress shopping.
Once everyone was loaded up they took off. Peter had his camera that Tony and Pepper got him for his birthday draped around his neck. He took a few photos of the scenery, but his favorite one was when Maggie was telling a story about her Husband and Scott which left Hope choking and Laura leaning away to avoid being sprayed. What he loved about it so much was May and Pepper were both rolling their eyes in perfect sync. He even showed the driver when they stopped at a spotlight who had a hard time keeping his face straight and passive looking at the photo.
Soon enough the city of Sandy Springs came around the corner. Clusters of Plazas were stationed everywhere he turned, vivid colors were splashed and spray painted on walls of some towering buildings that blocked out the sun. When they reached the center of the city the crowds became thicker. They had to stop several times as pedestrians activated the crosswalk. Atlanta was more rustic in a sense than Queens. His city had a color palette of white, gray, and silvers. Atlanta was more rustic wood, with green, reds, and brick.
They pulled to a stop with a two-story building with a black overhang above the door. The Chaperone quickly opened the door for all the ladies while Peter helped himself out with a stretch. Peter snapped a few photos looking over at the store. Bridal by Lori. He's heard of this store. His aunt watched the show every now and then when she got fashion urges.
He followed the ladies in and admired the open area with nice wooden floors and the beautiful displays of wedding dresses. He walked over to one of the dresses while they talked to the lady up front. The dress was beautiful. He rubbed his fingers over the material. It was a lace long sleeve, with a long trail when he looked behind the dress. The material felt like silk while the rest of the dress was solid. He actually liked it when he saw the back with a semi-open lace back. He was pulled away as May called him over where they were led to an open stage where a few creme' modern sofas laid. He followed their lead. He also ended up in the middle between the women in the seating arrangement. Pepper sat by herself in a love seat that matched the creme theme as the modern sofas.
They didn't have to wait long before a man showed up in a nicely pressed tux, and black rimmed glasses. He clapped once his eyes landed on Pepper. "My, my, my. Isn't it the Queen of Queens!"
He quickly pulled her into a hug. "I must say, you look ravishing as always." And he leaned up close. "And what's this I hear? A certain billionaire finally worked up the guts to ask, hmm?"
Pepper smiled back. "Hello to you too, Monte. And yes he asked, which is why I'm here."
Monte hummed. "You and I, young lady, are going to have a talk. I want all the juicy details."
A woman entered the room with a nice black pencil dress, with gold rimmed interlaced ring necklace draped around her neck. Her eyes were gentle as she took in the scene. "Monte, quit smothering her. Let's get to it. They're here for business, not a get together."
Monte merely waved her off with a wink before the two faced the Entourage. "Now what do we have here?" Focusing on the boy.
Peter merely waved.
Lori put her hands together, addressing the group. "A mighty group, isn't it?"
Pepper nodded with a smile. "These are my closest friends. Laura Barton, Hope Pym, Maggie Lang, May Parker, and her nephew Peter Parker." Each gave a wave when they were introduced.
Lori turned towards Pepper. "Well, Miss Future Stark, are you ready to find that dress?"
"I am."
Monte rushed over. "Well then, chop, chop ladies and gentleman, we got some work to do."
They all left their bags as they followed Lori and Monte toward a room of dresses hanging up, ready for view and choosing. Automatically, the ladies took off in search of their opinion of dress while Peter hanged back and watched. Maggie picked a lace mermaid dress and not to sound rude, but he definitely couldn't see Pepper in it, and Pepper was quick to voice his thoughts.
"No mermaids, please." Pepper quipped as Maggie hesitantly put the dress back.
"Pepper, even I know you could pull off a Mermaid easily." Maggie shot back with a smirk. "Who knows, might earn you some points with Tony."
"I'm marrying him, I think that's enough points for him." She shot back.
It didn't take long for the ladies to choose a dress for Pepper to try on. They waited with Peter back in the middle as Lori escorted Pepper into the dressing room. Few minutes later she emerged with a sleeveless trumpet dress with embroidered lace. Peter's eyes widened as the girls gasped. Pepper faced toward them with a sheepish smile as the long trail followed behind.
May covered her mouth. "Pepper, you look absolutely gorgeous."
"Thank you."
Monte smiled. "It does look wonderful on you, but Entourage what do you think? Think we can do better?"
He got various nods. "Tell me is there anything you liked or disliked about this dress?"
Laura tilted her head. "Well, the dress is beautiful, but I think we should try sleeves."
Monte nodded, storing that information away. He turned toward Peter. "What about you, wonderboy?"
Lori slapped his arm, and he flinched away. "Hey!"
Peter blushed, but carefully looked over the dress. "Um… well, I really think lace looks good, but I feel like you need something more slimming around… the legs and not so loose?Sleeves would look cool, though." He felt jittery from the sudden spotlight but let himself calm down at the reassuring glance Pepper sent his way and the approving nod from Monte.
He pointed to the dressing room. "Back to the dressing room with you, Mrs. Potts."
The next dress she had on as she stepped back onto the stage was another sleeveless gown. Lori helped Pepper fan out the dress's trail. "I know this is sleeveless, but let's look at all the options here. This is a fit and flair, organza skirt with a beaded sash." She explained. "Now, lookin at ya'll you got some stuff to say."
Hope smiled assuring. "The dress is beautiful, but it doesn't say Pepper Stark."
Peter decided to add in his cent. "You need something simple, but also comes around as powerful… because well you are the CEO of Stark Industries."
Hope slung an arm around the boy's shoulder. "That is exactly what we're looking for."
Pepper laughed gently. Lori corralled her into the dressing room yet again.
Monte waited until Pepper and Lori were gone when he pointed at Peter who gawked. "You sir are coming with me." He said with a smirk. "I'm going to steal him for a few moments."
Peter got off the couch and gave the women questioning glances. They all gave him an assuring glance and a wink. Once they were alone Monte took him to the room they came in earlier. Dresses were hanging as Monte clapped his hands.
"I've noticed you got an eye." He gestured to the dresses. "Now tell me, what do you see Miss CEO in?"
"She looked really nice in lace." He answered as he and Monte looked through the dresses. "And I think sleeves are a must, honestly."
"Okay, we have lace and sleeves on the list. What else is knocking around in that brain of yours?" Monte questioned, putting away a few dresses.
"Well one time she wore a cream colored dress to a charity event. It wasn't fancy, just a solid color with a leather band." Peter answered honestly. He remembered that day. Her hair was in a nice tame beach wave that brought out her strawberry blonde highlights. His mentor gawked at his fiance that day, even admitting it was better than the blue dress he got her like ten years ago. He still had no idea what that was about.
Monte tapped his chin. "Seems to me you already have a dress picked out don't you?"
Peter's mind went back to the dress up front. He smiled big. "Monte, I think I have the perfect dress."
Monte put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Oooo, I'm liking you. Off we go, but before we get this prized jewel what do you say we go a little further?"
Peter could only raise an eyebrow.
oOo
When Pepper was dressing a knock came from behind the door. Lori cracked it open where a dress was slipped in. Lori took the dress with a curious glance.
Pepper only heard a few whispered words, "Oh Lori, don't be like that. Trust me." Before the door shut again. She still had her dressing robe on when Lori took the dress out of the clothing bag.
Pepper gasped at the dress. It was beautiful as she fingered it between her fingers, feeling the creases and lace. She almost cried, but she let herself smile wide. She looked toward Lori who had a knowing look as she watched silently.
Pepper grinned. "Let's not keep them waiting shall we?"
When she exited the dressing room she could hear loud chatter and laughter when her friends sat waiting. She was curious at the commotion, but once she reached the threshold to the waiting room she knew why and she couldn't stop laughing as she covered her mouth with her hand.
Peter held his chin high as he wore a matching tux next to Monte who looked proud at his work. Hope and May were leaning on each other laughing while Laura took a picture of the two. Maggie was clapping, throwing her head back in laughter.
Peter's eyes widened as he spotted her and she couldn't help the warmth that seeped into her chest. The boy tilted his head toward her, earning the women's attention. When they turned it was silent before Hope jumped up. "I swear if you don't say yes to that dress I'm going to hold this above your head for the rest of your life!"
Laura's smile was wide as she held up her phone snapping photos. "What do you think of the dress, Pep?"
Pepper's eyes shined, with tears on the edge. "It's… I don't have the words for it."
Monte hummed approvingly before sneaking a glance at his partner. "Well, Mr. Parker, looks like you might have a talent for this occupation."
Pepper eyes shot toward him. "You chose this?"
He nodded, and he looked so darn handsome in that tux. "Yes'mam."
"Come here." She muttered, choked up. He didn't hesitate as he wrapped his arms around her. Pepper pulled him close. "Thank you, thank you so much, Peter."
"You look beautiful, Miss Potts." He whispered.
Lori smiled at Monte who laid a hand on his chest. The woman cleared her throat. "Well if you must know. This dress," Pointing at Pepper. "Is an Illusion long sleeve dress, with a V-neckline with a very intricate crepe sheath, and lace sleeves and a semi-open lace back."
Pepper spun letting the dress flow out before it hugged her figure again. She laughed in glee, pulling her hair to the side.
Monte sighed in love. "Well that leaves just one thing to do. Let's jack her up. Peter come and help me transform this into a fairytale! And close those eyes ladies, we want this to be a surprise."
Peter laughed as he helped put on a small diamond tiara with a long trail connected that faded into a lace design of flowers. He straightened it out as Lori helped Pepper with a pair of earrings. Peter helped guide her toward the mirror.
Pepper squeezed Peter's hand and he squeezed it back just as hard. He looked toward Monte and Lori who gave him a nod. "You can open them."
No one hesitated to open their eyes. And Pepper couldn't help the tears that fell down her soft cheeks as she looked at herself. She hugged the boy tighter as they both laughed with tears. "May, you have the greatest nephew in the world!"
"Don't I know it." She called from the sofa, taking in the scene with pure happiness.
Monte laughed. "Well what do you expect? Look at him all dressed up for the bride!"
Maggie cooed. "He looks like a mini Monte!"
Pepper shook her head, with gentle eyes as she brushed her fingers through the boy's hair who looked up at her with those intelligent eyes. "No," She whispered softly. "He's a Stark."
Peter buried his head into her chest as his emotions threatened to explode. "I'm really glad you brought me along."
"Me too."
"Pepper Potts, it's time to ask." Lori said with a smirk. "Are you saying yes to this dress?"
"Yes!" Pepper called out as the girls let out a cheer.
Laura pulled out Peter's camera. "Come on, let's get some pictures in."
Everyone gathered around the bride with her arm wrapped around Peter's. The women took their places by their sides as Laura turned the camera's timer on before finding her place. Monte being the diva he is, laid on the floor with his head propped up in his hand. The camera gave a warning as everyone said cheese before the shutter went off taking a few shots automatically.
Monte looked up from the floor. "So, where's my wedding invitation?"
A/N: I've been binge-watching Say Yes to the Dress, and my favorite duo is Lori and Monte. Add in Marvel to the mix and you get this cocktail, ladies.
