The Professor stood in the pawn shop. He was at the window, peering out onto the street through the blinds. It had been six weeks since he and his father returned Elsa, Anna and Kristoff to Arendelle. Six weeks since he had last seen Mr Gold. Six weeks since hearing what Mr Gold had been planning with the Sorcerer's hat. However, he wanted to know why Mr Gold had been planning what he had. No one else in the town knew. They all seemed to think that it was who he was. But the Professor knew better. He had known him for a long time. He knew that Mr Gold always had a more profound reason for what he was planning. He was a master planner, after all.
He and his father had been trying to track Mr Gold outside of Storybrooke. But they couldn't find him. Going through the border – through the curse that the Snow Queen put on it – it must have cloaked Mr Gold, making it impossible to find him. Though, his ring was still located somewhere near the Storybrooke border. However, it was hidden. It seemed Mr Gold was still planning something. But what?
He was lost in thought until he felt someone wrap their arms around him. He looked down. It was Clara. "Oh, hey," he greeted. "I didn't hear you come in."
"Still thinking about Rumple?" Clara asked.
"Yeah. I wish we could find him. There are so many unanswered questions I want answers to."
Clara nodded slowly before resting her head against the Professor's back. "I may not know him as well as you, but he must have had some reasons, right? He's not that fully evil. No one can be like that. Everyone I've ever met has had a motive. So he must have had one too."
"Exactly. Though, I suppose there's nothing we can do. Everyone's moved on. The town is peaceful. I suppose we should focus on that."
"And the trips that your father has taken us on," Clara added. "I'm glad he has. It appears no one wants their children taught by someone who's friends with the Dark One." She frowned.
The Professor turned around when he saw Emma and Hook walk past, and he looked over at Clara instead. "I'm sorry about that."
"Don't be. I made my decisions a long time ago. I wanted to be with you, and here I am. With you. I wouldn't change anything for that." Clara leaned up and kissed the Professor gently. "I love you."
"I love you too," the Professor said.
Now was a time for a new chapter of their lives, and he was glad to share it with Clara Oswald.
