The being would have narrowed his eyes if he had any as he looked at the monitor. Destroyed. Nothing was salvageable. The whole ship had been obliterated. Nothing but broken plating remained. Few things could do this, and none of them bode well for him or anyone under his protection.

It seemed that automation would no longer work. They had boarded the vessel before its destruction. However, not much data survived beyond that. Whatever they had done onboard, they did it quickly before destroying it. It seemed that it was time to execute his contingency.

With a flick of the wrist, the monitor switched to four separate views at the same time. One featuring a large reptilian creature being hurled into a spiked bomb, another featuring a young hero fighting against a dual wielding monstrosity, another showed a metal-clad warrior fighting a grotesque being with a lanky body, while yet another showed a pilot risking it all against a madman. These four would do for now. They would be his foundation. Now, to recruit them.

Link furrowed his brow as he watched the princess bring the shiny blue ocarina up to her lips. What she was about to do…he did not want it. He did not care about the seven years, he did not want to be forgotten by everyone he had struggled alongside all this time. He did not want to leave. He wanted to continue to help them. To help her.

It was out of his hands now though. Literally. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he prepared to meet his fate. However, it did not come. What he did feel was the sudden sensation of falling, but before he could even open his eyes, he felt himself reorient as he caught himself on a metallic floor.

Looking up, he found himself in a strange room that looked unlike anything he had ever seen before. It was far too…smooth compared to anything he had seen in his adventures, but that was hardly the most interesting part.

No, that would be who and what else was in the room. There was a large metallic…thing sitting in the room with what looked like a Fox standing next to it. A clothed fox that was standing upright. Then next across from him was someone in some sort of suit of armor pointing the cylindrical right arm at Link as the newcomer. This triggered the hero's instincts to make him draw his sword and shield.

Before it could escalate further, the tube-like structure behind Link spurred to life once more and a new figure emerged. This one was short and stout man in overalls and a red hat. Unlike Link, he landed with much more grace, but seemed just as confused as the rest of them were.

"Ah, you're all here," They all turned to the source of the new voice. Though, how the being emitted the sound, none of them quite knew seeing as it appeared to be a floating white gloved hand with no mouth to speak of, "Allow me to explain."

"That's…a lot to take in," Fox folded his arms as he sat back in the chair. The…hand had led them to a conference room where he proceeded to explain to them why he had brought them here.

Supposedly, he watched over the multiverse, or at least part of it, and he had an automated battleship – or "console" as he designated it - patrolling the edges of their realm. Recently, that ship had been destroyed. Considering how advanced his technology was, something destroying the vessel was not a good sign.

They had been brought on board to investigate this threat. That said, it raised an important question.

"If you outclass us so much, what good are we?" The bounty hunter leaned on the table clearly suspicious. That was fair. So was he, and it seemed the other two were to some degree.

"Simply put, I lack the ground troops to handle this," The hand admitted, "Frankly, I do not know what we are up against, and that is why I need you. Weapons were admittedly never my forte, but I do have some of the most advanced sensor technology in existence."

The hand swiped and the monitor behind him lit up showing a picture of a Corneria like planet, "Your mission, if you accept it, would be to head to one of the worlds on the outskirts and set up some equipment to try and get a better reading as to what we're dealing with. With more information, hopefully I can decide a better course of action. As well as if your continued services would be required…or even helpful."

"Blunt," The armored hunter grunted.

"But fair," Fox admitted, "I'll admit that I'm skeptical, but if what he says is true, it's in our best interest to help out."

The mustachioed man nodded his agreement, as did the green clad hero. Samus was more reluctant, but she finally nodded too. This was too big for any of them to ignore.

"Excellent," The hand acknowledged, "I'll prepare the coordinates. I'll put you down somewhere out of the way, but I suppose you should be made aware of native creatures in the area. The locals call them Pokémon."
