Normally, Lester Smith would be in his workshop, continually improving his alteration, or trying to create bigger and better familiars, or reinforcing his body and other objects, or keeping up with the other side of the world to see new developments there. Needless to say, there is a lot of other things Lester Smith could be doing right now, but here he was, sitting in a chair, waiting for the director of Chaldea while flipping around a butterfly knife Mystic Code he had made a few months back.

He was listening to what the Animusphere had to say while flipping the knife, until she pointed out that someone was dozing off. He sympathized with him. Olga Marie Animusphere was very boring to listen to. He unfortunately got kicked out. It took all Lester had to not burst out laughing. Olga was certainly not nearly as amused.

After he had been escorted, all had settled down and Olga returned to talking, and Lester was now looking at his charm bracelet, with a very strong protection spell should his life come in danger. The charm itself was a little green jewel, but he knew it was far more than that. It was jam-packed with protective spells and took a good majority of the favors he had to get it.

Once Olga Marie was done speaking, the 48 Masters left began to enter Spiritron Chasis, or coffins, Lester being one of them. As he got in, he felt a little uneasy. As the process began, he was waiting until three things happened in very quick succession, having not closed his eyes yet. He first saw a bright light, and then heard a loud BOOOOM. He instinctively used Reinforcement. And then the heat quickly followed the light and sound. The last thing he saw was his charm activating in a brilliant green.

Ritsuka heard the loud boom and felt the tremors under his feet, and quickly realized where it was coming from. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, and the scene he walked into could only be described as hell. Fire everywhere, and a bunch of cylindrical containers with people inside, the containers half broken, and for all he knew, the people inside could very well be dead. That wasn't what concerned him most though.

Mash was pinned under a piece of rubble, and he could see the growing puddle of blood under her.

"Mash!"

"Sen..pai."

"Hold on, I'll get this off of you!" He tries lifting the rubble only to burn his hand doing so. He then covers his hands with his sleeves and tries again and again and again.

After a while, he stops trying and just holds her hands, comforting her in their last moments.

Then he hears footsteps.

A person slightly older than him with curly black hair, and lavender eyes is stumbling around. A garbled voice is saying something about having found lifeforms to rayshift, but he could care less.

He calls out to the man, but when they meet eyes, the world suddenly fades into darkness.

AN: Yeah, this again. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and hope to see you all in the next one!

Actually, I haven't thought of what servant Lester's going to summon yet, and he doesn't have a summoning catalyst either. If anyone bothers to review this, tell me what servant you think Lester should summon.
