I can't believe it has been almost three years since I last wrote a fan-fiction! Do not worry, I will be updating the other stories this week. I have re-evaluated my ideas and have decided to create long-term fanfictions for you. I haven't written a story in 2.5 years so I apologise if my writing is a little bit rusty.
Please leave a review if you enjoy this fanfiction.

Chapter 1: The Book of Fairy Tail
"As her tear traced down her pale face, she silently hoped- wishing she would see him again."
The bell rang as she had finished her sentence, signalling the end of her lesson. Gently, she closed the book with a sigh of content before looking up at her eager students, already packing their equipment away to hurry to the next class. A small smile tweaked at her pink lips – amused as her diverse class began to stand but not leave – as if waiting for her permission.
"Your book reports are due next Wednesday, if you haven't chosen a topic come see me at the end of the day" Her voice calmly spoked before giving a short nod at her students – allowing them to exit for their next class. As the rowdy class made their exit, the young woman turned her back and gently placed the novel she had been reading onto the oak desk, her fingers grazing over the rough cover before moving behind her desk and taking a seat on the navy office chair with a sigh.
"Miss Heart" a timid voice croaked out before shuffling to stand in front of the desk, facing the said woman. The corners of Lucy's mouth tweaked into a small smile, her brown eyes settling on the blue-haired student no older than the age of 12 standing in front of her.
"Yes, Miss Marvel, what can I do for you?" Lucy smiled, placing her slender arms on the desk, clasping her hands. Her smile never faltered as she waited for the quiet student to respond. Wendy refused to meet her gaze – instead, allowing her eyes to land on the floor, tracing the lines with her eyes.
"Sorry to bother you. Um- I was hoping that I could show you my idea for the book report after school" she faltered, her voice quietening at the last few words, her timidness preventing her from saying anything more than necessary. Lucy only smiled before humming a response of approval to the young girl. Wendy's eyes brightened as she locked gazes with Lucy. Deciding she was content with the answer, she rushed out of the classroom but not before muttering a quiet 'thank you' to her teacher.
Lucy could not help but giggle at the response of the young girl, she was rather fond of all her students – but Wendy had weaved her way into her heart. The blonde woman shook the thought from her mind and stood up to waltz over to the whiteboard she had been writing on. Her golden hair fluttered out as she stood, swaying gracefully with every step she took. A soft thud landed against her chest as the heavy item had somehow unhitched itself from under her blouse. Reaching to the necklace, Lucy allowed her golden-speckled eyes to observe the key hanging from a chain. It glinted in the reflection of the light and lightly warmed in her hand – the action Lucy believed was her imagination- but none the less placed it back underneath her blouse as she heard the chatter from her next class.
It had been half past 5 by the time Lucy arrived at her apartment, turning her keys to turn the car off before moving out of her seat with a small bounce. Time had flown by after school as Wendy and Lucy spoke about the book report due – it had been an interesting book that the young student had chosen – one that Lucy was not aware of. It was a large old book which seemed to be from at least 50 years ago – but that was not what stood out to her – it was the golden stitched symbol that rested on the top of the book which gave a sense of both familiarity and unknowing . The title of the book gave her an uncomfortable emotion she had not felt before – Fairy Tail she remembered it reading.
Pushing her thoughts aside, she unlocked the door to her apartment – satisfied when she heard the click. She was welcomed with eerie silence as she entered the apartment, the slightest glimmer of sunlight seeping through the transparent curtains. A sigh escaped her lips as a pit of loneliness dwelled deep inside her gut. She quickly moved to the kitchen, switching the button for her coffee machine, knowing full well she needed a coffee.
As she waited for the coffee to brew, she removed her laptop from her messenger back and opened it on the dining table. The first words she wrote into google was Fairy Tail – the moment the search had loaded she was engrossed in the journals, the websites and images relating to the topic. A specific word made her giggle – Magic – no wonder Wendy had been so interested in the topic, she always believed in Magic, Fairies, Dragons and Demons. Lucy had no interest in the topic considering it was all make-believe, but she adored how her student was using her own interests in her report. By the time she had shut her laptop it was half passed 8. The woman rubbed a hand down her face, realising her long-forgotten coffee would be cold and she could not be bothered making another one.
With a sigh, Lucy lifted herself away from the laptop and to her bedroom. Stripping out of the blouse and pencil skirt she had worn for the day. She felt satisfied when she shifted into a silk pair of pyjamas and eased her way onto her comfy bed – happily humming as her back hit the cold surface. Her eyes fluttered close – fully welcoming her much needed sleep – which was interrupted by a loud vibration from her phone. Her heart dropped when she read the reminder.
Anniversary. It was anything but an anniversary, more of a constant reminder of the last 6 years she had struggled through. '6 years' she thought grim. Six years since she had woken up from her coma with no memory – only knowing her first and part of her last name Lucy Heart and holding the key she protectively hung around her neck.
There we have it! Chapter 1 of A Book of Fairies, Dragons and Demons!
It was a bit of a cruising chapter - but the excitement will be happening within the next few chapters!
