"You boshtet," she muttered as bolts of blue light whizzed past her. "You should have realised that they had a secondary security system,"

"Stop!" A turrian officer yelled. "In the name of the Imperium and House Arcturus, I command you to stop!"

Another curse escaped her lips as she ran through the dark poorly lit streets of Palavan city. She gritted her teeth as more blue lights missed her as she began to move in a zig-zag to counter them. turrians were all military, missing once was getting their aim right. Missing twice means that the runner is lucky.

By all the Gods of her ancestors, she didn't know that this was what she was going to be doing tonight. She was supposed to be finding something for the fleet, something to prove her worth to the captains. That was what she was supposed to do, instead, she got caught up in chasing rumours, and now she was being chased by the Palavan city guard.

"Keelah," she muttered as a round just missed her. "Which ancestor did I piss off to get in this mess?" she asked as skidded across the cobblestones and ran down another street that led into a lightly populated market.

As her pursuers followed, they held their fire not wanting to risk hitting the civilians in front of them. Putting their etheric blasters back into their holsters they followed the woman as she pushed herself through the crowd. But doing so brought attention to her, and people began to try and grab her to try and stop her from getting away from the guards. But they failed as she was nimble and danced around the shoppers until she reached the end of the street.

Moving into an alley, she ran down it and took several turns in an attempt to lose her pursuers. The yells of the turrians echoed in the distance as she found a pipe and began to climb it onto the roofs.

Below the turrian master-of-arm cursed as he looked around with a lantern in hand. "Where is she?" he muttered to no one but himself.

Above him, the woman watched hidden in an alcove made by several pipers. Her breathing slowed as she watched the red-clothed turrian as he and his fellow guards looked down the different passages. But that wasn't that concerned her. Looking to a cylinder attached to her hip, she swallowed. Her bag had loosened and was about to release its contents onto the ground.

And she couldn't do anything as the pipe she was on wasn't large enough to allow her to move her arms. Which were currently held onto smaller pipes to keep herself from falling.

'Please don't look up,' she thought. 'Please don't look up, and please don't fall out,'

Inch by inch, one of her tools began to slide out of her bag threatening to free itself of its confines. She could only watch in fear as the turrian reached the corner of the building. He almost reached it when her tool finally fell out and landed on the ground with a thud loud enough to wake the dead.

"Shit," she muttered as the turrian turned with his pistol pointed at the other end of the ally.

Slowly, he began to walk down the darkened alley. Taking care with each step, his eyes narrowed his ears alert. Each step he took felt like an age as the woman watched him, trying to fall deeper into the shallow alcove. Only a few steps away from her he stopped as something began to rustle below her.

BANG!

Her heart stopped as she felt and heard the shot. She swallowed and looked down. Below her, the turrian had moved over to the bottom of the pipe and turned over what appeared to be a rodent of some kind. With a sigh, she almost let go, but common sense reinforced itself and forced her to pull back even further.

"Sir!" one of the guards yelled getting the red-clothed turrian's attention. "We found something," he yelled and the two ran down another passageway leaving the woman alone.

"Oh, thank the ancestors," she muttered before waiting for her arms to become too stiff to hold her in place for much longer.

Climbing down, she was careful not to make too much noise and landed on the ground without much of a problem. After recovering her tool, she took out what she had stolen. A glowing necrotic green orb sat in her hand. Inside black and green smoke swirled as if the two were in a tornado.

"You had better give me answers," she muttered before putting it back. "Ok Tali, you are now a wanted criminal with no money, no salvage and nothing. A good start, now to get home," she muttered while looking around. "Fuck,"

OOOOO

"Hello boys and girls!" a smiling face said as the doors to the bar opened.

Every face in the large hall turned to see the newcomer, each with a varying degree of smiling. "We have the loot! So, drinks on me!"

A round of applause and cheering echoed in the hall followed by upbeat music by the band. People soon began to enter carrying bags of gold, jewellery, money, weapons and food over to the bar. The smiling man approached and took one of the seats as the barkeep, a heavily tattooed asari, walked up.

"A good haul," she muttered with a nod. "I assume you want the usual?"

The man nodded. "Yep, a blue sun special,"

"Coming up, oh and I'll be taking that out of your paycheck," she smiled as she grabbed a metal tankard and began to fill it with grog before adding a few other things to it.

The man took it with a large swig before his smile dropped and he hung his head. "We lost seven people today. Four recruits and three gunners," he said as he shook his head. "The fuckers even killed some of their hostages,"

"Batarians then?" the asari asked with a raised brow.

"Yeah. We have them no fucking quarter," he said as he took another drink and pulled his elongated tricorne off his head setting it down next to him. "I swear, every fucking day they get meaner, nastier and have no sense of honour. All because we don't accept slavery and took territory from them. It's not our fault that their empire is weak,"

"Don't let them hear that," the asari smiled letting her elderly features take some of the heat off.

"I know," he smiled as he took a swig, this time it was less than his first one. "Where's mom and Jayne?"

"Admiral Shepard is in her office. Commander Shepard is off taking advantage of some interesting news," as she spoke, she smiled and winked at the raven-haired man.

"What news?" he asked.

"She is going after an Asari princess," that made his eyes widen.

"My sister is doing what?" he half yelled getting a few looks from the other patrons.

"Easy Markus," a soft surly voice came from behind. "You know she can handle it,"

A human woman dressed in a long black skirt and loose-fitting top and jacket sat on the stool next to him. He smiled as he gazed upon her brown eyes and full black lips. Leaning in the two kissed while his hand moved over to her large pregnant belly. In response, she placed her hand on his letting the golden skull ring around her ring finger shine in the light. They pulled away but their smiles and glow didn't dissipate.

"How have you been Kat?" he asked.

"Ahh, you know, had to stop a couple of brawls. Some of the newer recruits want to quit. Same old same old," she smiled.

"Good to hear that nothing changes, but Jayne taking on a royal yacht? I'm not sure,"

"I'll leave this to you," the barkeeper said as she moved to serve other customers.

"She's your sister, a Shepard, a special one yes. But a Shepard all the same," Kat said while turning to face the same direction he was.

"But still, Asari princesses fetch a good ransom, but that just means they are well protected," he sighed.

"Not this one from what I heard," Kat muttered. "From what I hear, the princess is going to be married. But they are keeping it a secret as the details have yet to be finalised. So, they are moving her in a regular ship and a light guard,"

"So, it's just a matter of finding them," Markus nodded before looking to his wife. "I assume Garrus and Talia are with them,"

"You know it," she smiled.

"Then lest having a toast," he stood and faced the people in the room to address them, it took a moment for silence. "I've heard my sister is going after a princess, knowing her I hope that this princess has her chastity locked down tight," a wave of laughter followed through the room. "But let's wish her the best of luck. To Jayne and Clan Shepard!"

"TO CLAN SHEPARD!" the room echoed before they drowned their drinks.

Hannah Shepard smiled as she watched over the room. With a sigh, she turned to face her guest and his guards. David Anderson slowly drank his coffee while his old friend took her seat.

"I see Markus is doing well for himself," he smiled.

"He is, but he's slowing down thanks to my grandchild," she replied before leaning forward and resting her chin in her hands. "So, this order is coming from the Emperor himself?"

Anderson nodded. "Yeah. Emperor Atlas doesn't want the regular military checking it out. He's concerned about the corruption running through the ranks. Many of them are talking about a coup replacing him with Clan Udina, or someone else," he sighed and leaned back. "It also doesn't help that the Council refuses to help. We are looking at civil war, so he's looking to do anything to strengthen his position,"

"Which is why he's asking Clan Shepard to help out," Hannah sighed as she rubbed her eyes. "I hope this isn't an empty promise for restoring us,"

"He has said that if you bring it back, he will restore your name on the spot. As long as you are loyal to him,"

Hannah leaned back in her chair releasing another sigh. "60 years we have been expelled from the Imperial Federation. 60 years of being called slavers, traitors and more," she looked at Anderson, her green eyes piercing him. "If he backs out of that promise, we will help someone to overthrow him. We have been away 60 years too long,"

If Anderson was angered by those words, he didn't show it as he took another sip of his drink. His guards however looked at each other. Their masks hid their true expressions, but their posture betrayed their concerns.

"I assure you that's not going to happen," he said as he pulled out a letter with the imperial seal on it.

Three stars in a cog well and a pair of wings reaching out to the side. Hannah took it and looked at David while opening the letter. A golden medal fell onto the counter which made her eyes widen. Setting the letter down, she picked up the medal with wide eyes. The emblem on it was that of a lion holding a sword in its mouth and sitting on a shield. She couldn't contain the smile on her face or the glow in her eyes. Placing the medal down she then read the letter with a bigger smile. But that smile turned to a frown and she turned to look at David.

"An observer? Really?" she asked.

"Given the nature of the object, the Emperor doesn't want anything to go wrong," the Admiral said as he poured himself some more coffee. "You know as well as I do how rare those things are. If anything happens, he wants to make sure that you are not at fault,"

Hannah fell silent before nodding. "Who is the observer?"

"A mage, Kadian Alenko. One of the top students at the Academy,"

"A mage?" Hannah's brow raised. "Jayne and he should get along fine. Hell, he might be her boyfriend if she didn't have an asari fetish,"

David just chuckled. "He should be here in the next few days, you should be able to go then,"

"Yeah, just need to wait till Jayne comes back then she and Markus can go out on this mission," as she said that, David's brow raised.

"Not John?"

Hannah shook her head. "Too young and eager. Jayne's a hothead but she's disciplined and pragmatic. She knows when to stick her neck out when to back down. The same is with Markus. John doesn't have the experience for a job like this,"

David sighed with a nod taking another swig. "I understand. I've also been ordered by the Emperor to stay until the end of the mission,"

"I'll have a room set up for you and your men," Hannah smiled.

OOOOO

Princess Liara T'soni looked out of her cabin window as the clouds passed by. To say she was unhappy was an understatement. She was unimpressed, to say the least, her mother Crown Queen Benezia had agreed to an arranged marriage between Liara and another Asari Princess. But this was all of her emotions playing around with her. She knew that something like this would happen eventually, but she was expecting to wait at least another 100 years before her mother arranged anything.

Sighing she just watched the clouds and birds fly by. What she wouldn't do to join them. Just jump and be on with the clouds and birds escaping her noble duties. But she couldn't, in a sense, she was a slave to duty and she had to obey. Standing up she walked away from the window and looked at her future wedding dress. It was made out of some of the finest Thessian silks and stitched with golden strands. The dress itself was a deep blue, the colour of Thessian nobility. Humans use white to show the purity of the bride, but the Asari just saw that as barbaric.

But Liara didn't agree, she saw it as peaceful rather than barbaric. She didn't have much experience with humans, but from what she understood they had more freedoms in their Empire rather than the restrictive culture of the Asari. While they did have a militaristic culture, they also had a laid-back culture taking life as it came. She knew it wasn't as simple as that, but what she had heard gave her that impression. She sighed again just thinking about this and how she might get out.

Her door opened and two handmaidens walked in. Both of them were dressed in a white and blue unitard with gold trim. Both of them had tight-fitting bracelets around their wrists. Small blue gems lined the inside of the bracelets that had a slight glow. A suppression bracelet, meant to keep those who aren't trained in the magical arts in line. Those who couldn't afford to attend one of the magical schools got the bracelets. Once on, they could never be removed and grew with the asari.

"Princess, we are approaching Thessia and we are to prepare you for your interview," one of them said.

"Very well," Liara said as the handmaidens walked in, closed the door, and prepared Liara.

Three levels above her sat the bridge of the airship. The Capitan of the airship sat on a chair behind the helm while a few others worked some of the other controls. She watched as the clouds passed by keeping her eyes open for anyone who may attack the ship as they headed for the relays that would take them to Thessia. Sky pirates were the ones to look out for and she needed to keep her eyes out. The ship had plenty of treasure, weapons and more for any self-seeking rouge to plunder.

As the ship flew through the air, the Captain, Lyyxa M'lovo, just sighed wondering what would happen. She had hoped that this transfer would go smoothly and not have anyone try their luck. But now she was getting annoyed and bored wanting something, anything to happen.

"Storm up ahead!" the helmswoman then called out.

"Take her up," the captain ordered and the helmswoman nodded.

She pulled a leaver to the side before turning the wheel taking the airship up above some of the lower clouds. Once at a good level the helmswoman pulled the leaver again setting the ship so that it would only move from side to side. The ship sailed like a boat on the clouds, but little did they know what was going to happen. They stayed like this for a good hour before descending below the clouds once again.

Unseen by the ship, green eyes looked through a telescope at the ship to the side of them. A smile crawled across her lips as she lowered the glass. On her right stood a turrian who had an eyepiece over his right eye which he manipulated to get a better look at the ship. To her left stood a heavily scarred and tattooed asari with red and black face paint.

"Looks like we found our quarry," the human said with a smile.

"Indeed," the asari said looking to her charge next to her. "I'd advise caution, while this ship is lightly defended, it is going to be defended by asari Royal Guard,"

"A thought nut to crack at the best of times," the turrian agreed as he moved his eyepiece. "But we can take them. Just need a few good shots," he smiled as he reached for his long gun.

"Talia, thoughts?" the human asked.

The asari fell silent for a moment looking around before her eyes focused on the airship. "Fast-moving attack from cloud cover, coming from the rear and taking out the engines. Dropping in from above when it's dead in the water,"

The human smiled. "Garrus?"

"I agree, it limits them for what they plan to do," the turrian replied.

"Then let's do it," the human smiled and pushed herself off the railing of her airship.

Another sigh escaped Lyyxa's black lips as she looked around from her command chair. Her bridge crew, dressed in T'soni white and blue, stood at their stations keeping an eye on the airship machinery. Gunners, navigators, helmsmen and watchers did their jobs as they flew towards their destination. She didn't understand what the queen was thinking. Weddings involving asari princesses weren't new, but they were occasions when guards from both families were needed to guard the couple-to-be.

Both princesses were protected around the clock, even when being moved until the wedding was over. It was a security matter to ensure that both were protected from others. Other Queens, princesses, races or even disillusioned citizens. This just screamed wrong to her, and she wasn't sure what to do.

"Ship ahoy!" one of the watchers called.

Lyyxa looked over to the watcher and sat the rounded metal shape of a human airship. A dull metallic cover with a lion painted on the front. She stood as the flag atop of the ship came into view.

"Colours?" the captain asked.

The watcher was about to lower her glass before she did a double-take and turned. "PIRATES!" she yelled getting everyone's attention. "It's Clan Shepard!"

Lyyxa's eyes widened and looked at the ship coming in fast. Questions buzzed in her mind, but the one thing she needed to do now, was an act.

"Battle stations!" she called as she headed back to her chair. "Sound battle stations, ready the etheric cannons. Prepare for evasive manoeuvre,"

The bridge crew reacted fast and sounded the alarms across the ship. Leather boots slammed on metal walkways and orders echoed as asari Royal Guard prepared for combat. Meanwhile, the Captain and bridge crew watched as the pirate ship circled them.

"First they assess," she muttered to herself. "Then t…" but the flashes of light from the pirate ship. "EVASIVE MANOEUVRES!" she yelled. "Hard to starboard!"

"Hard to starboard! Aye!" the bridge yelled and the ship swerved to the right avoiding the balls of blue light.

The pirates fired again forcing the ship to make another hard turn to the left this time just managing to avoid another volley of blue light.

"Shit these guys are good," the lead helm said keeping an eye on the pirates as they came around for another pass. "BRACE!" she yelled as the ship made a hard left and pulled up.

This time they weren't so lucky as one of the balls hit the engine housing. That took out one of their propellers slowing them down. Not for the first time, Lyyxa cursed for the lack of any major armament on her ship.

"Are the guns ready?" she yelled into a pipe.

"Ready!" the lead gunner at the other end said.

"Make every shot count," a moment later, the smaller guns of her ship began to fire.

Unlike the heavy cannons of the pirate ship, her ship had smaller, quick-firing cannons. Low damage, but with sustained fire they could deal the same amount of damage as heavy cannons. The crew watched as their guns shot outbursts of blue balls at the pirate ship. But the Clan Shepard ship was fast and moved out of the way. Two of the balls hit, but if it did any damage the crew couldn't see it.

The pirate ship moved fast as it turned and surprised the crew as it fired an etheric beam at them. It missed, but as the ship turned to hit the rear of their ship fully taking out the propellers. It then drifted for a few hundred meters until the momentum died and it began to drift.

"Goddess damn it all!" Lyyxa said slamming her fist on the armrest of her chair. "All troops on deck prepare to repel borders!"

As soon as she spoke those words, the asari under the main deck opened the doors and hatches climbing up. Armed with etheric blasters, repeaters and cutlasses they readied themselves as the pirate ship flew and hovered overhead. Each one of the royal guards readied themselves as the more magically inclined of them prepared fire spells. Crystals glowed as the hatch under the pirate ship opened and the guard fired.

Fire and etheric bolts created smoke around the hatch. It stayed like that for a few moments until the mages lowered their hands followed by the troopers. As the smoke began to clear something exited the hatch and landed in the middle of the deck. The smoke then began to swirl around where the object landed and a small tornado began to form forcing the asari to grab a hold of a railing.

The tornado grew and reached the hatch. A moment later the sounds of thuds echoed in the ears of the guards for a good while before it stopped and the tornado vanished. A large group of pirates, wearing similar outfits stood on the deck. Three of them however were dressed differently. And one of them made the asari instinctively move back a step. That one stood at the head of the crew.

The human female in front of them wore what one would think a typical pirate would look like minus the bird, hook, peg leg, an eyepatch. Instead, she had a scar running from the right side of her face to the left. It looked as if someone had peeled a strip of skin off her. But it wasn't the etheric blaster or cutlass at her sides that caught the asari's attention. Around the human's wrists were a pair of brown leather ring gauntlets. Each one had a thumb-sized crystal around the cuffs. One of these crystals glowed red, in the same hand, a ball of fire flickered giving the woman a sinister look.

The asari looked at one another, concern filling their eyes.

"Well, well, well, aren't you a rare breed," Lyyxa said as she walked down the stairs leading to the bridge. "Let's see now," she stopped and tilted her head back with her hand on her chin in an exaggerated thinking pose. "A human mage, Clan Shepard, a woman, blood-red hair, piercing green eyes and a scar across her face. You must be Jayne then,"

"Good to know I'm still famous," the pirate said with a wide smile. "Now, if you'll put your weapons down and surrender, we can get this over with the hard way,"

Lyyxa and several asari blinked while the turrian, pirate asari and several of the clan pirates rolled their eyes. "Hard way? How is surrendering hard?"

"Oh, I mean hard for us,"

"Kill them," the captain growled and the asari troops and mages opened fire.

But as soon as she gave the order, Jayne shot forward and pinned Lyyxa to a wall only to be kicked off her.

"Bad move," the captain said as she drew her sword and ignited her other hand in the flame.

"Bring it," Jayne taunted as her crew leapt into action.

The asari pirate moved quickly as she used a polearm to whack at a mage conjuring a fireball. That caused her to stumble backwards and cover her bleeding nose. A trooper was about to fire, but the polearm welding asari moved fast and hit the etheric repeater out of the trooper's hand before pulling out her blaster and firing. The asari fell dead as the mage recovered only for her head to snap back thanks to another shot from the pirate.

"You don't wear a suppression bracelet," a mage said as she approached the pirate, eyes narrowed with disdain. "Every asari has magic, even without gauntlets you should be able to use magic. Yet you don't," a fireball raged in the asari's hand as she approached. "That can only mean one thing, defect,"

"I have lived for 500 years, young asari," the pirate said. "I've heard it all. At some point insults, become nothing,"

"Th…" the mage tried to say, but she stopped as a hole was blasted through her chest.

The asari mage turned to see a turrian behind her lowering his long gun. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she fell dead and her killer moved out of the way as several shots hit his previous location. In response, he hit the ones firing at him only missing one shot as he continued to move. Taking out his short-sword to block attacks from melee welding troopers as they advanced on him.

But he moved with speed and purpose, his turrian military and police training kicking in on instinct. He moved like a dancer, dogging and moving around bolts and sword swings. But not all missed as he was nicked more than once by the bolts and blades. But not enough to wound or take him down.

With the fighting raging between Clan Shepard and the asari crew, a few of the former managed to break away from the fight and make their way further into the ship. But they didn't get away unnoticed as Lyyxa tried to throw a fireball at them.

"STOP!" she yelled, but an attack from Jayne came in and diverted her attention.

She blocked the attack with her cutlass but was kicked in the gut sending her into a wall. With a quick move, she deflected another attack and pushed herself away from the wall. Jayne and the Captain moved around each other not taking their eyes off each other. Waiting for the other to make the next move, both readied to counter each other's moves. Lyyxa focused, looking at the human in front of her. Jayne's sword hand dropped, and opening? Or trap? Either way, she took and chance and moved in while encasing her hand in fire.

Moving in she came in with an uppercut which the human moved but failed to move out of the sword coming into the side. It hit her leg as she tried to pull back and deflect the attack with her arm. Her reward was a bad hit that began to leak blood. As she pulled back, she pulled out a vial full of a green substance and poured it onto the wound. It quickly healed up before she moved in with a swing from the side. It got blocked, as did the next strike, but the third strike forced Lyyxa back.

Jayne's free hand then turned into metal and moved in quickly blocking an attack by the captain and slammed her metal fist into her gut. That forced her to go down. As she landed on her hands and knees, Jayne moved to force her fully onto the floor then removed the asari's crystal gauntlets and looked at them. All of them were large and had a fiery red colour. Jayne sighed as she looked at the asari Captain under her boot.

"Fire specialisation, why am I not surprised," she said as she shook her head.

"More crystals, more power," Lyyxa said as she tried to push herself up but the sword next to her neck stopped her.

"Don't," Jayne warned before pulling the gauntlet off and firing an etheric blast into the air. "HOLT FAST!" she yelled which echoed across the ship.

People looked at her and the asari's eyes widen in shock as they looked at their Captain. "Asari, surrender now and your leader will not be harmed," Jayne yelled.

The asari looked to one another and were about to place their weapons down, but just then the doors to the lower decks exploded and the group of Clan Shepard pirates who went down skidded across the deck. They groaned as they picked themselves up from the ground. Jayne's eyes widened as she turned from her Clanmates to the one who blasted them. The asari that emerged was dressed in a flowing blue and white outfit with golden patterns on the white sections of her outfit.

"Garrus," Jayne said.

The turrian heard and moved up to replace her keeping his gun trained on the captain. The asari, clearly the princess, turned to face Jayne as she pulled away from her captive. Eyes narrowed with what seemed to be an unnatural purple. What concerned Jayne was the lack of magical gauntlets. While all asari had magic running through their veins, they still needed to use magical gauntlets to fully utilise that ability. But this asari blasted her men a good few feet.

Normally that would require a gauntlet with etheric or air crystals. But she had nothing, this was going to be a problem.

"What are you doing here?" the princess asked as she flexed her wrists.

Jayne said nothing as she threw a fireball at the princess and closed the distance quickly. Mages needed range, in close they had limited options. The princess deflected the fireball and spun out of the way of Jayne's charge. But the pirate reacted quickly moving into a sweep tripping her up. But the princess cartwheels out of the way only to be tackled to the ground by the asari pirate who used her polearm to hold the princess down.

"Get off me!" the princess yelled as Jayne stood and took a pair of cuffs out locking them around the princess' wrists as her arms were folded behind her back.

"Nice one Talia," Jayne said as the two helped the princess up who spat in her face.

"I'll heave your head for this," she said.

"Princess, you'll be a guest of Clan Shepard. So, I suggest you behave if you wanted to be treated like one," Jayne smiled.

The princess was about to talk, but Talia moved and forced a gag into her mouth silencing her. At that moment the asari dropped their weapons and surrendered. Clan Shepard then moved to secure the weapons and tie up the asari. But the Captain was objecting as she stood, thrashing around in Garrus' hold.

"Take me and not Princess Liara," she demanded.

Jayne looked at her as the Clan rounded up the crew and placed them in a group in the middle of the airship. "And why would I do that? You are just a ship Captain. You aren't worth much,"

"I made an oath, not to let her out of my sight, and to protect her," Lyyxa said.

"I understand that, but there is a reason why we're taking you," Jayne then indicated to the kneeling crew. "These people need a leader who will take them out of here. You are that leader. We'll be leaving enough equipment to get basic propulsion going but by the time you get it repaired, we'll be long gone,"

"I can see why they call Clan Shepard honourable," Lyyxa said as she was led to the middle of the ship and knelt next to her crew.

OOOOO

Liara struggled as she was led into the Clan Shepard hideout. It took Jayne, Talia and Garrus to keep her under control as the door opened. As soon as it did, people turned to look to see the struggle. Some of the more muscular Clan members set their drinks down and moved up to help the three as they took the princess to the 'guest room' while the rest helped unload the loot from the Normandy.

"Damn she's a strong one," one of the Clan members said as he held onto the princess while another went to one of the rooms and opened it up.

The group practically dragged the Princess in while one of the fastened a suppression bracelet around her wrist. The effect of two magic suppression devices drained her of some of her energy while they removed her chains and left. As they closed the door, Liara began to bang on it.

"LET ME OUT YOU DEGENERATES!" she yelled but the group ignored her.

"Sounds like we have a pompous princess on our hands," one of the Clan members. "Oh, by the way, Jayne, Admiral Hannah wants to talk to you,"

"Thanks," Jayne replied as she made her way up to the office while the others headed to the bar.

"Who was that?" the bartender asked. "She seems feisty,"

"Princess Liara T'soni," Talia said.

"Liara?" the bartender asked almost dropping her cup. "She's here?"

Garrus and Talia looked at each other. "Aethyta, are you ok?"

It took a moment before the elderly asari shook her head and turned. "Sorry, been a long day. Anyway, clan specials, right?"

The two nodded and she got to work.

Above them, Jayne just stared at the three people in front of her. "Are you serious? Clan status?"

Hannah nodded. "I didn't stutter," she said with a motherly smile. "Clan status,"

Jayne walked up and sat next to her brother. "I'm happy, but given who have in the guest room, we may have some problems with the Asari Queendom,"

"I'll have that straightened out," David said waving his hand. "It's an easy explanation,"

Jayne was about to say something, but Markus jumped in. "Either way we need to do this little operation for the Imperial family,"

"Right," Jayne nodded. "What's the mission?" she asked happily.

"Retrieving a Prothean Obelisk," Hannah said.

The two younger Shepards looked at their mother with wide eyes.

"WHAT!" they yelled at the same time.
