"Welcome back to Seabrook. So far from last time thing have become much more hectic, not just because of the fact that last time I fought a ancient Mayan god who tried to attack the werewolves and destroy my new home. But how things have been going lately such as me learning to become more stronger, and to spending quality time with my girlfriend Wynter. Who is now quarterback for the Mighty Shrimps, kinda cool to say that your werewolf girl can go threw a bunch of guys without breaking a claw. Still things couldn't be going better, all three species are together in harmony and no type of trouble is trying to ruin it. I sometimes think if there's more for me than just fighting monsters and protecting the town, or rather if there's something else waiting for me. Though right now that can wait, seeing how my man Zed is going head to college. Gotta give him my full support for tonight as well Wynter, still can't believe for the first time I'm glad things are normal."
Unknown Location-Morning
Several miles away from any town or public area was a building that had been designed and made for the residents. In actuality it was the Seabrook Zombie medical center that Revenant's human parents Mathew and Susan had made for the subjects that had been involved with Quill's experiments. They had been spending the last several years looking over each zombie that was unlike the others as well try and help them adapt with their new 'abilities'. Right now in a kitchen was Susan who was making some coffee not knowing there was someone coming from behind her.
"Don't even try it Mathew."
She said not amused about how her husband would usually try to scare her due to how the zombies they had been helping have grown fond of them as well tried to scare her. Mathew, chuckled at how she had been able to be use to the idea of being around enhanced zombies.
"Sorry honey. Just wanted to see if you were alright from yesterday's training with Mist. She's been recently getting better at appearing out of nowhere."
Informing her about that while they had been able to help several of the zombies with their Z bands. Several others were much more unique along had abilities that they could never believe could exist.
"That's because you let her go wherever she wants. I thought you had that suit made for her."
Questioning about how Mist was basically a gaseous form that could be blown away without a proper suit to contain her in. Mathew nodded as they heard something crashing in one of the rooms as it seemed Susan got her answer.
"Let's go check up on the kids."
Informing her as Susan made sure to grab her coffee as they went to check into the training room where they had the enhanced zombies Tran and learn to embrace their new appearances and abilities. Going down the hallway and entering the room they soon see the zombie girl called Mist, who was right now flying around in a dark grey cloud along with green hair flowing across her.
"Can you please tell her to knock it off with the flying?!"
Another voice cried out as the two scientists looked over to another zombie who was fish like as he seemed a mixture between a human and salmon as he seem to represent a dead fish. The upset zombie fish looked around of how the vapor was bothering him about his skin shedding.
"Come on Sal. You should be used to floating things since your skin always fall off whenever your in the water. I'm just going with the flow."
Responding to the fish man as Sal merely got agitated and tried to wave his hands at her trying to make her become smoke. It took several years for both Mathew and Susan to help the two zombie's learn control over their abilities like their adoptive son Revenant.
"I think it's the fact that she won't be able to mess with you once she's in her can."
A voice spoke from the walls which was another zombie that was under the care of the scientists. Looking over they saw another zombie who unlike the others had a unique type of look, seeing how he was bald but they could see his brain. Having a collared shirt as well keeping to himself, the two knew the trouble he had with talking to others due to his exposed brain.
"Cortex. There's no need for you to be hiding, we're all a team here and support one another. Especially how that with Mist being in a body, she can experience things such as holding people and eating."
Susan advising him to join them as the brain zombie sighs of how at the beginning he and the other zombies believed that they were like Quill. However after the several years of helping them, they began to trust the two. Walking over to join the four, the two humans looked to the living smoke as Mist merely crossed her arms not interested in the idea.
"Yeah. Like that's a normal thing, I wish we could head over to Seabrook and just have them accept us already. I mean your son is practically a celebrity along the other zombies."
Stating about how after all the time they had been here hiding away from Seabrook, Mathew and Susan had kept them up with tabs about what was going on. As well the acceptance of different monsters that had coming to the small town. While they would want to bring them into their former hometown, it was still a risk.
"While we would be happy to bring you all to Seabrook. There are still certain individuals who are nervous about the 'unnatural'. Which you all aren't, just people experimented to becoming something else. But we've been talking to the mayor about our return."
Mathew stating that she and the others would be able to come back to Seabrook and see how much it has changed. However right now they should focus on Mist's suit that would allow her to walk around with people, going towards a door where the suit was contained. He brought it out as it had a feminine look with several pipes attached to the arms and back, while the face was design for her to express facial looks while having goggles for her to see.
"Instead of going with the flow? How about treading on the ground like a robot?"
Sal making a joke as the fish zombie male laughed at how it looked seeing it resembled a eighties scientist uniform mixed with a radiation suit. Mist merely looked uncertain about the suit seeing how it didn't seem normal. Both humans could see the look on her gaseous face of how Mist wouldn't like it.
"We don't have to rush the change Mist. When you want to try it will do it, it's your choice when you want to wear it."
Susan comforting her as the living cloud smiled to her of how over the past several years after they decided to look after her and the others. It had been a while they had people especially humans show concern for their emotions. Meanwhile for Cortex, he decided to pull out a small phone in his pocket which he decided to listen to some music seeing how things were going alright.
"Hey Cortex make sure you don't higher the volume to much. We don't want you getting a headache like last time."
Mathew informing the zombie about that just like the others, Cortex's brain was also had a special ability which needed to be controlled better so he could be around people. Continuing to listen to some music, the zombie boy's mind began to act up as well how he felt like something was wrong as he held the left side of his head.
"Hey guys? Cortex there is going have a brain storm."
Sal stating as both Mathew and Susan turned around seeing how there was something happening with Cortex. His hands begun to shake along fingers began to type fast if he was a living type writer, the two humans soon took action and rushed him to a chair for him to calm himself as it seemed Cortex was about to lose control.
"Think about river Cortex. Think about the river."
Susan telling the boy as the only way to calm Cortex from possibly losing control was if he thought about the river, while powerful and strong with waves rocking back and forth. It could still be calm as well remain still when it stopped, while the two humans stayed by his side. Mist and Sal saw around them was several objects shaking as well slowly floating as it seemed his ability seemed to levitate objects. The two watched at how Cortex was slowly calming down as well making everything stop floating around him.
"I'm sorry. I was just listening to some music on my phone then suddenly there was a loud static sound, it felt like I was being grabbed."
Explaining to them about what almost made him lose control of his power. While the two merely comfort him about what was about to happen to him, Mathew took a look at Cortex's phone to see what he was typing during his moment.
"Mathew?"
His wife asking him about why he took a look at the phone than checking to see if the zombie boy was ok. Though what caught Mathew's attention was the numbers and letters that were typed in. Turning his head there was a coded message within it that got Mathew concern.
"What did you exactly listen to?"
Looking over to Cortex to see what he listened to as the zombie boy scrolled down the screen showing a radio app which showed was from a place he didn't expect. Both Sal and Mist came over as this had gotten him worried as they took a moment to see what he was reading.
"Seabrook Radio?"
Sal asking as the code seemed to be a zip area which was for Seabrook as well the exact location and coordinates. Whatever Cortex was able to pick up from the app appeared to be something coming from the town. With how Revenant telling his adoptive parents about the strange cases that have been happening, it appear there was another case coming to him. The only question was where and when
Seabrook High School-Morning
It was a bright a beautiful morning at the high school as there was a practice going on as there was a big game tonight. Running several plays as well making sure his teammates were doing alright, Zed was checking out his team as well having a smile on his face seeing how everything looked perfect.
"Alright guys line up for a tackle."
Calling out to his team for them to practice on their tackles, with the combination of zombies and werewolves with the addition of humans. They were unstoppable, however it would help put to use zombie strength in the mix. Lining up in a single row and preparing for a charge, Zed lowered his Z band allowing a bit of his zombie strength to come out.
"Focus. On the target."
Thinking to himself as he saw his veins becoming black as well growling like a zombie. Letting out a yell he had the group charge into the dummies, as they were able to push them back. Zed and the others sent theirs flying across in the air and hitting the field. Reverting his Z band back to normal the group cheered for the successful practice.
"Now that's what I'm talking about! As well it being break time."
Zed stating as it was a good time for them to catch a breath of air seeing that they had been practicing for hours. Removing their helmets they walked over to the benches where their beverages were ready as Zed threw each one to his teammates.
"Alright got us the usual, bone and meat and sweet fruit smoothies. While for myself, blended brains."
Handing out each of the beverages to the boys as well saving the last one for himself as he had it special made for this practice. However he noticed his container gone, looking confused he heard a sudden whistle by the seats as it was Revenant holding his drink with a questionable look.
"And here I though this was going be fun. Going try and use the 'special' edge on the rival team tonight?"
He asked seeing how Rev took a moment to see his friend using a bit of his zombie strength which gave the mighty shrimps a advantage over the rival team that would be facing them tonight. Zed merely showed a sly smile about how it didn't seem that bad.
"I'm not going use it for the game Rev. It's just to show the guys that we're going be monsters on the field. I still remember what happened when I did lose control."
Remembering how Rev told him to not get carried away with the Z band lock and letting him go all zombie. The glasses wearing protect merely sighs to his friend as he hands Zed his drink, seeing that it might be true he was doing it to encourage the team.
"Alright. Just wanted to make sure since this is a important day for you and possibly zombie kind cause of the fact your going be heading to college."
Smiling about how Zed was going to be the first ever Seabrook zombie attending Mountain College. A well known institute that have been looking for something different and unique, which Zed fits all the qualities.
"I know. I'm ten times excited than anyone, especially Addison since she and the others are doing a prep rally for tonight. However, I know there's another reason why your excited than seeing me heading off on my own."
Zed stated to Rev as the zombie merely raised a eyebrow at the sentence as he could see his friend smiling in a teasing manner. Realizing what he was putting together, Rev merely groans as he tried to remain the resilient zombie as he was whenever he protect Seabrook.
"Come on you can smile about Wynter being on the team. And also that your coming, or is it that your nervous about her getting hurt."
Asking him another question since after pulling a few strings with the principal along the mighty shrimps team. Zed was able to get her onto the team, which made Revenant happy for his girlfriend to be the first female football player on the team. Though what caught him off guard was her leaving the town so she could help Zed with the rival team they were going meet tonight.
"No! My girl is tougher than a sea beast. I should know, she helped me on that problem. And I coming to support her like Addison supports you. Right?"
Thinking of a comeback for his friend which the zombie boys were at a standstill for how they could respond about how they supported or got supported by their girlfriends. The moment got interrupted by a barking sound as Revenant collapsed onto the ground, it was Puppy who had now gotten much bigger as well was kicking his face.
"Hi guys!"
Shouting behind them was Zoey as she was running over to them looking excited as Zed was able to catch her. It was always exiting to see her as well how each day she was growing, making him think how she would one day attend Seabrook high.
"I just wanted to stop by to see you practice. Everyone right now is supporting and counting on you for tonight's game. Especially dad, he has some food ready to share tonight during the send off."
Explaining to him about that Zevon would be sharing some of his food with the humans and werewolves when they see the team head off. Meanwhile for Rev who was still underneath the massive paws of puppy who was still on top of him.
"Zoey? Honey. I can see how you've been taking care of him since I got him for you, but is it possible to call him off?"
Revenant wheezing about how he felt like his lungs were about to give in due to the weight of the dog. Noticing how he was being crushed, Zoey whistled to him as Puppy was able to get off the zombie boy and go back to her side.
"Sorry. He just played with Wynter in the locker room and is still excited, she looked a bit sad after she finished playing with Puppy."
Zoey explaining to him about a issue going on with the werewolf. Deciding to explore this he said his goodbyes to The others as he wanted to see what was bothering her. Heading to the locker rooms, Zed merely smiled to Zoey and Puppy about how tonight was going be amazing and would be playing for both zombies and werewolves so they could attend college together.
Football locker rooms
Within the rooms was Wynter who was right now in a mighty shrimps uniform. There was so much pressure and emotions running threw her thoughts, would she be able to help the team? Would she mess up during the game and possibly humiliate herself to her pack?
"Why can't I focus?!"
Her eyes glowing yellow and letting out a roar as she lets out a bit of her anger as she hits the side of the locker making a dent. Calming down as well maintaining control, she heard some footsteps seeing her boyfriend Revenant standing by the entrance.
"Oh. Hey Rev, you don't think the principal will be upset about the broken bench?"
Asking a bit worried about how her inner wolf made a dent which was visible. Revenant didn't care as he walked over to see what was messing with his wolf. However Wynter looked away as she didn't want him to see her pouting like a sad were pup.
"Come on. Don't make me go for the sensitive spot~"
Teasing her since whenever he was upset she would try and comfort her, very much upset now as Wynter tried to look intimidating. Though not so much since what was happening tonight with her going with the others towards the big game.
"It's just I've never exactly been on a team like this. The pack? Their basically like my family and we stick together. You and Sentinel? It's always exciting since we face new fights. But football? There's going be so many people looking at me during the game."
Wynter explaining her case about what she was feeling since unlike being with her wolf pack and Sentinel, she was going be around hundreds of people roaring and cheering for her. She much prefer a smaller group whenever she was out doing activities with her friends. Rev could agree since he was like this when he had to be on Zed's team during his first day in the school.
"I was nervous to, not by the people since I didn't know anyone. But the fact I was going participate in a sport where I could have hurt someone with my strength."
Telling her about his first time participating in the sport since he wasn't exactly fond of sports. However that it wasn't just about the wins, it was about how it represented zombies if they participated in activities.
"But I didn't. Because I had something to focus on, which involved helping zombies get treated right and being equal to humans. And also getting better food."
Making a joke to cheer Wynter up as she merely smiled to his 'humor', still there was a point he was trying to get at as he wanted to make sure she understood the meaning.
"What I'm saying is don't think about the people that are looking at you, think about the people that stand with you. Cause Zed isn't going let you handle those guys alone, and especially me since I'm coming with you to watch."
Stating that she had a team that involved Zed as well half of her pack to help her out during the game. Wynter merely smiled as well lays her head by his shoulder seeing how his words comforted her at this tense moment. The monster couple relaxed until his phone began to vibrate, checking it out the message was coming from Sentinel.
"Saved by the bell I guess."
Wynter asking as the two shared a laugh seeing how while the moment had gotten interrupted. However it didn't change the subject about how he was going see her tonight heading onto the bus and facing off against the other team. Even if Brit and Sentinel needed him for some type of problem that might be going on, though whatever it was he could handle it.
