It was another relatively mundane day at 2Fort in the base belonging to the Reliable Excavation Demolition (RED) Team. For the nine lovable maniacs, it felt as if time had stood still, no action, no new updates, nothing.

They had been keeping their skills sharp against the run-of-the-mill clones made by Builders League United (BLU) but that got old very quickly. Now, it was just a matter of how they spent their time besides killing endless waves of robots.

At the moment, Dell Conagher, who often went by the codename of 'Engineer' was busy with a brand-new type of Teleporter, one which he believed would finally alleviate the boring stagnancy he and his colleagues were stuck in.

"Ah, Mein friend! I brought the part you needed!"

Dell smiled and turned to his fellow genius of the team, Doctor Ludwig Herr Doktor AKA The Medic. Being tossed the part he needed, he resumed putting the finishing touches on the Teleporter.

"Much obliged, Doc. With this, things are sure to get spiced back up!"

"Ey, what are you eggheads doin'?" Spoke the Boston accent belonging to Jeremy Runnar AKA The Scout as the youngest of the team in question stepped in.

"Well, Scout, we're just putting the finishing touches on a new kind of Teleporter!" Dell presented the finished product to Scout. "Viola! The Level 5 Teleporter!"

"Wait, where's Level 4-?"

"Never mind that!" Dell cut off the youngest of the team. "This here beauty will warp us to just about anywhere we put our minds to! This'll surely make things less boring than they've been for the past couple of years."

Scout grinned. Even he had been getting bored with how stagnant things had been.

"Hey, that ain't a bad idea! Let's tell the rest of the guys!"

"You read my mind, son!"

The rest of the RED Mercs were gathered in the lab as Engineer had shown them the Teleporter and set it up properly.

"Alright, fellas! This is it, finely our way out of this boring stalemate!"

"Are you sure it will work?" Asked Jacque LeTouche AKA The Spy.

"Can it teleport bread?" Questioned Jane Doe AKA The Soldier, his hand raised attentively.

"Fellas, easy there! We're testing this thing out together. And don't worry, I made sure to get the proper safety settings in order."

"Good, none of us want another bloody bread monster or tumor scare." Said Samuel Mundy AKA The Sniper.

"Relax, it has been tested for both of those! We have made sure of it!" Medic reassured. "Now, everyone onto ze teleporter!"

The nine did as they were told, the teleporter expanding to accommodate all nine of them. The machine soon spun to life and began lighting up, the nine comrades all tensing in anticipation before they were engulfed in a massive flash of red light and when it subsided...they were gone.

When the flash subsided, the nine stumbled around to regain their bearings. Tavish DeGroot AKA The Demoman nearly fell on his back before righting himself, laughing as he did.

"Ha! Imagine if I hadn't been drunk for that!" He said in his thick Scottish Accent.

"Huddah hur..." Mumbled The Pyro, the most enigmatic of the nine as he clasped his hands over his head to try and stop the migraine he was feeling.

"Ugh, something is different..." Noted Ivan Mikhail AKA The Heavy as his vision soon returned to him and he saw the team was surrounded by a forest. "Did we arrive at DeGroot Keep?"

"Bloody hell!" Exclaimed Sniper, alerting his teammates as they all joined him to see what he was looking at.

"Whoa..." Scout whistled.

The nine mercs' eyes were not deceiving them. In front of them was a clearing that made way for a path leading to a massive monastery. A small town was resting comfortably beneath it and was within walking distance.

"Something tells me this is not DeGroot Keep..." Spy muttered, inspecting the monastery closely.

"Did something go wrong with the Teleporter?" Engineer said, his brow furrowed and his hands on his hips as he tried to figure out how this happened.

"Well, we are not going to be receiving the answers we need standing around. Onward, Comrades!" Medic said, gesturing for his friends to follow him down the path to the village, which the rest of the team did without question.

When they arrived in the village, the RED Team couldn't help but acknowledge the stares of curiosity they were getting from the town residents, who looked like they came from medieval times.

"Yeah, this ain't DeGroot Keep..." Scout said with a wince, feeling all eyes on him.

"Excuse me, sir!" Called Engineer to a man carrying a wheelbarrow of goods. "Can you tell us where we are? We're a little lost in these here parts."

"Oh, you're at Garreg Mach Monastery! You can't miss it, it's right there." The merchant said, pointing to the monastery that was just walking distance away.

"Is there anybody of status there we can talk to?" Spy asked.

"Of course, Lady Rhea. I'm sure she'll be happy to welcome you in, weary travelers." The merchant said pleasantly before going on his way.

"Well, we got a destination at least. Let's make haste and meet this 'Rhea'." Sniper said as the nine mercs headed to the monastery.

A slender figure wearing nothing but black stood in front of what appeared to be some kind of chessboard, nodding to themself as nine chess pieces resembling the TF2 Mercs appeared on the board.

"And so the game has changed. Alright then...game on, let's see what direction the story takes..."

Ever since beating the Azure Moon route on Fire Emblem: Three Houses and starting the Scarlet Blaze route in Warriors: Three Hopes, I've been tempted to make a Three Houses AU story where we get a Golden Ending where all four routes come together. But I also wanted to write a crossover to set the changes in motion and since I enjoy the dynamics of Team Fortress 2 (despite it having not been updated in FOREVER), this is the result.

What insanity will the RED Team bring to the monastery when they arrive? How will Lady Rhea handle these nine strangers out of time? Find all that out in the next chapter!
