I've been trying to find female protags in rezero but I couldn't so I thought I'll do it myself(if you get it props to you)

So yeah warning tho I'm not very good at this as it is my second story but ah screw it

So without further ado let's get to it

1274 Iki island of Japan

Kokoro zoro stood at the war room with the commanders discussing the defense of Iki island though it has already been lost

The battle led by Taira no Kagetaka has resulted in defeat with 78 samurai being killed now with less then 2 thousand soldiers and samurai stationed at Hinotsume castle there is no option left but to die an honorable death or commit seppuku

Though Kokoro wanted to continue fighting she was a coward at heart fleeing from battle to save a friend though it was in vein as an arrow had struck him in his lung and dying in her arms

The other commanders issued the order for seppuku to them they all nodded albeit hesitantly in the case of Kokoro

She was planning to return home to her parents and brother but now she will never see them again

A comforting hand found its way onto her shoulder turning around she found her superior Shugodai commander of the castle

"Zoro know this we have sent a messenger for the shogun he should arrive in 4 days And when they arrive on the island they will not find the bodies of the dishonorable nor that of cowards they will find the bodies of heroes of honorable warriors we will all die with honor that is what you were trained for to fight for an honorable death that is what we seek as samurai that is the bushido way now let us face our deaths with the bravery befitting of a samurai "

Kokoro nods resolutely reminded of her path as a samurai" Wakarimashita sensei thank you for training me all these years"

Shugodai smiles for the first time ever" there is no need to thank me now we must all be prepared for what we must do"

He walks away presumably to his quarters Kokoro does the same now prepared to meet death head on

Arriving in her room she finds her armor at a stand

Her armor was made by a master blacksmith and friend of her father Kazuo Zoro the color of which is red meant to symbolize drowning in the blood and honor of the enemy with the helmet having a arch ornament on it

Kokoro dons the armor which takes 2 hours and turns to her sword

A 33-inch katana the tsuba of which has a cherry blossom tree design etched into it with the tsuka being the color of red

She then does maintenance on it with her cleaning kit being brought out along with the incense being lit

3 hours later she hears it

Bom bom bom

The sounds of thousands of soldiers marching on Hinotsume castle

Bom bom bom

She knew it was time she carefully unsheathed her katana

Bom bom BOM!

She could hear the sounds of fighting outside as she pointed her katana at her stomach

BOM BOM BOM!

Kokoro takes a deep breath

I am sorry okaasan, otōsan, Otouto

And plunges the katana through her, then her vision goes dark

So how is it, it's short cuz it's the prologue but I promise you it'll be longer next chapter I tried to be as historically accurate as possible though I might have not done a good job it's up to you to tell me alright I see you later bye bye
