Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about MLP. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own MLP, Hasbro and a few others do.

The inventor tinkered like he had done since he was a foal. His work laid bare in front of him as he hummed and tapped his hooves upon the floor.

The sound was metallic from his right side. His limb was metallic instead of the flesh and blood that many other ponies were like. He knew just how ridiculous it would sound… But then again?

When was Sliver Shoals as quiet a town as people thought? It was a bustling little fishing town in Equestria. The inventive Pegasus had continued to tinker away with his inventions as time went on.

This Pegasi wounded and with scars of the past? He was known simply… As Maverick. The Pegasus turned to look at his right wing.

If someone had seen it during the accident that caused it? They would have seen a twisted limb which would have to have been amputated which would was horrid. He knew for a fact that it was out of his control as he sighed.

'That day…' Maverick stated mentally while shaking his head. He knew just how bad things were.

He was taken from his reminiscing by his pet. An otter known as Flotsam who grabbed one of the pieces Maverick wanted to use. Maverick hummed and rushed at the animal as it playfully galloped up the stairs.

"Flotsam!" Maverick yelled as he lunged at the animal. His ocean blue eyes while he hummed.

Maverick could only fathom which caused him to wonder just what the animal was after. He kept him feed and well cared for, he loved the animal after all. It made him so confused as it ran to the side and out of the home where he lived.

Maverick chased the animal, unsure where it was heading. He couldn't tell where it wanted to be anyway.

"Flotsam!" Maverick yelled again with an anger that was more out of worry then anything. "Where you going!?" Maverick questioned.

Maverick followed the animal as best he could, he wanted to fly…. But he was scared of last time, and he hadnt tried much since the limb had to be amputated.

"Flotsam, please!" Maverick yelled after the animal and made a dive to catch it.

He missed by a few inches as the creature picked up speed which caused Maverick to sigh. He had known the animal to be like this since he had found him… But it still annoyed him more then anything.

Ever undaunted, Maverick collected himself and continued after the creature. He was very annoyed at it's desire to keep running away from him.

Flotsam paused for a moment before running off once more. Maverick sighed and continued the chase after the animal.

"Flotsam, why do you always do this?" Maverick questioned aloud as he sighed and looked to the side.

The animal turned a corner which Maverick followed behind closly. He almost smashed into a wall before flinging himself towards the creature once more. It was so very annoying to him to see the animal continue to escsape his attempts to grab him.

'And people think Discord was the most confounding creature ever.' Maverick stated mentally while humming to himself as he looked around.

He didn't blame Flotsam for running around. He'd seen the otter continue to run around his lab all the time, his anger was directed more at how this animal continued to run amok around town.

Maverick sighed and pushed himself off his hooves and leapt onto a ledge. He knew that he couldn't chase the otter down forever… But he wasn't going to let the otter get away from him so quickly… Or so easily.

Maverick threw himself into the air before hooking his hoove into the wall. He spun around the corner in a daze as he looked to the side.

It was in this blind haste that the Pegasus lost his balance and was left to spin around before coming to a stop in the middle of white pillars.

"Oh, my." Maverick heard as he rubbed his head which made him blink.

He knew that voice, as did everyone in equestria. How could anyone possibly forget it?

Maverick looked up to be greeted with the magenta eyes of former princess Celestia.

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be delayed by a few months. Next chapter will be in 2-4 months and will show Maverick talking to Celestia as well as set up his backstory and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
