Late one night in a small house on the streets of London, two young lovers had finished a long, stressful night of work. However, this couple was no ordinary couple, oh no. These two were heroes of a hidden world filled with magic. After helping the famous Harry Potter defend the wizarding world for the evil Death Eaters and their leader Lord Voldemort, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley had decided to start their life together.
The two of them worked as the ministry of magic as Auror, a suiting career for the talented witch and wizard. Harry Potter, their closest friend, worked along side them as an Auror, however it was quite clear that soon enough he would be promoted to the head of the Magical Law Enforcement. As for the rest of their friends, they had found their home in many different places throughout the magical, and nonmagical world.
Unfortunately, the Ron and Hermione's life together was not as wonderful as they imagined. The two of them may have been in love, but their differences did cause a constant bickering between the two of them.
Tonight, was no exception, after a long day of hard work the tired wizards' tempers had grow short. They hadn't been arguing long, but Hemione was already sick of their disagreement. She grabbed her jacket and scarf to fight off the cold London air, before opening the door.
"'Mione, wait-"
"Honestly, Ronald, I'm just going for a walk, I'll be back before you go to bed," then she left the house.
Even with the warm clothes the night air bit at her cheeks. She adjusted her scarf to warm them up, but it did little to help. She sighed and buried her hands into her pockets, deciding on a rout to take.
It was common for her to take a walk during an argument, it gave her some time to think of a logical solution without screaming at Ron. Besides the streets of London were beautiful at night, even more so when you didn't have to worry about dark wizards following you.
She passed by shops and cafes, without a clear destination. She new the streets well enough, and she wasn't worried about getting lost, after all she was the brightest witch of her year, surely she could find a spell to bring her home.
She watched the traffic light signal her to go, and she stepped onto the street. Only a moment later a car had driven past the red-light strait for her. She barely had a moment to react, as the car hit her hard.
She was forced between it and a second car, and her head ricochet off the two bumpers. Her mind was spinning and phosphenes blinded her. She felt the car behind move back as she collapsed onto the hard concrete. Someone was yelling, and she saw silhouette hovering above her, but she couldn't react to what they were doing.
More yelling, more faces, and a sticky feeling on the back of her head. Her fingers tingled, her torso ached, as she slipped away into unconsciousness as the world around her faded to black.
The hospital waiting room was about half full when Ron ran in. He collapsed onto the counter panting as the nurse in front of him finished her work.
"How may I help you?" she asked kindly.
"Hermione Granger… I'm looking… for Hermione granger."
She disappeared behind the divider for a moment before re-appearing."
"I'm afraid Miss Granger is not available for visiting at the moment. Unless you are immediate family-"
"I am."
She looked at him suspiciously before turning back to her monitor.
"I can hand you over to one of the doctor, but she is currently being treated and will not be able to be seen until the it has finished."
"Thank you," he mumbled, but before he could follow her he heard his name be called from behind him.
His best friend stopped behind him before adjusting his glasses.
"How is she?" harry asked.
"I don't know, I haven't seen her yet."
"Well, what are we waiting for.?"
Unimpressed with the new visitor the nurse passed them over to a second nurse who lead them down the bright hallways. They stopped in front of a door where Mrs. and Mr. Granger already stood.
The two of them were sobbing, and Ron was prepared for the worst.
"More family Dr Charles"
He turned to the two men and sighed.
"Well, I suppose I should give you the bad news. Miss Granger's injuries are quite serious, and we are not sure if she can be saved. Her head injuries alone put her at a high risk, and if she does make it she may not be the same person when she wakes up."
"Bloody hell," Ron mumbled under his breath before asking, "But she has to make, there's no way just getting hit could kill her."
"The driver was intoxicated and was going way past the speed limit. Perhaps if there hadn't been a second car to catch her she would have been in a better condition, but she was not so fortunate."
Just as he finished explaining the door behind him opened revealing another nurse. He tried to peek into the room to get a glimpse of Hermione, but the door was shut too fast.
The nurse handed Dr Charles a paper and he read it solemnly. He excused himself and he and the nurse walked a couple of paces away from the group. The spoke to each other too quiet to hear over Mrs. Grangers sobs.
They came back a few minutes later to proclaim Hermione's death. At 3:47 on august 17 1990 Hermione Granger died due to injuries related to a car accident.
