Rosie sat in a conference room at a police station in California. Her mind was spinning. She looked at the pink Fitbit tracker on her wrist. The time was 3am. She had been at the police station since about 10:30pm. At first she was in an interrogation room after she and her friends had been caught breaking into the local amusement park. She had, had her fingerprints taken, her parents called and about an hour later another officer came into the room and handed the officer who was sitting with her a file. The first officer opened the file and looked shocked. Her DNA was than taken. She wasn't told anything, but she knew something big was going on.

She was moved to a conference room. She was told not to worry that there would be no charges pressed on her and that she would need to wait here for someone to come talk to her. There was an officer stationed outside the door of the conference room. She was given a bottle of water and told someone would come explain things to her soon. That was just before midnight. It was now three hours later. She was exhausted. She was sitting on a small couch in the room. She was drifting in and out of sleep. She just wanted to go home. She had not even seen her parents. She did not understand what was going on.

Just than the door opened, and an officer came in with a woman. The woman was wearing a pair of black slacks and a really pretty shirt. She looked to be about thirty and had a briefcase. The officer was older. He had a badge on his suit jacket. He was the captain she guessed. The two adults turned a couple chairs, so they were in front of the couch that Rosie was sitting on. They sat down and looked at her.

"I'm Captain Franklin. This is Miss Henderson. She is with child welfare, and we just have a few questions. And than we will explain everything that is going on." The older man said

She was right. He was the captain. "Child welfare?" She asked swallowing a little harder. Her home life certainly was not perfect and there was a lot of emotional abuse, verbal and phycological abuse that she was dealing with. Hell, there might even be some physical abuse depending on who you asked. But she would never tell. She did not want to end up losing her family.

"Yes. You can call me Stacey. Don't worry. You're not in any trouble. We just want to figure out a few thing." The woman said.

"Okay. Where are my parents?" Rosie asked

"They are currently with another officer. Answering some questions." Captain Franklin told her

"There has to be some misunderstanding. Why is child welfare here?" Rosie asked

"Let us ask you a few questions and I promise we will explain everything." Stacey said

"Okay. Ask." Rosie said she was so exhausted and just wanted to get this over with and go home to her bed.

"This might seem like a weird question. But what is your earliest memory?" Stacey asked

Rosie scrunched up her face in confusion. "I don't know." She said "Why?"

"Do you think you have any memories from before you were two?" The captain asked

"What? No. I don't think so." Rosie said. She took a breathe. "I have a memory. Sitting on the floor in a living room. Not sure where. Playing with a stuffed elephant. I don't know how old I was but was young. That's probably my first memory." She answered the question. Still unsure as to why but was going along with it.

"Think really hard. Do you remember your parents being there?" Stacey asked

Rosie sighed. "I don't know. I'm tired can you just please tell me what's going on?" She said clearly exasperated.

The Captain and Stacey looked at each other and nodded.

"When your fingerprints were taken. We ran them through the system to see if they came up at any other crime scenes." Captain Franklin asked

"Well, they didn't. I promise this was the first time I did something like this. And will be the last." Rosie said.

Captain Franklin nodded. "Your right. Your prints haven't been found to be linking you to doing anything wrong. But they did pop up from a case from 1999." The Captain said

"1999. I would have been two maybe three years old." Rosie said clear confusion on her face.

"Yes. You were two. It's a missing child case." Captain Franklin said

"Missing child. What does that have to do with me?" Rosie asked

"You are that missing child." Stacey said

"What? What are you talking about? I'm not missing. Did I go missing and get found and have no memory of it?" Rosie asked

"Not exactly." Stacey said.

"You were taken from your bedroom where you lived with your biological father. And some how ended up with the Long's. We are trying to find out if they took you or if there is something else going on." Captain Franklin told her.

"So, You're telling me. That the people I live with. The people who I call mom and dad aren't my biological parents?" Rosie asked. Tears filling her eyes

Stacey nodded. "I know its a lot to take it. Its why I'm here. To help you get through some of the shock."

"They didn't kidnap me. They love me." Rosie said "This must all be some misunderstanding. Some clerical mix-up. They are my parents." Rosie added

"That's why we took your DNA as well. To verify everything. You are most certainly the missing child. What role the people who have been raising you played in your abduction is being figured out. Right now, they are saying they adopted you. Maybe they thought they adopted you legally. Maybe they are victims in this situation too. We will figure this all out." The Captain said.

"But if I was abducted… What does that mean?" She asked tears streaming

Stacey took a breathe. "Your biological father has been contacted. He is on the way here. You will be going with him."

"NO!" Rosie said

"The law is very clear. Even if the people who have been raising you didn't do anything wrong. Even if they are victims in this situation. You will be going back with your biological father." Captain Franklin said

"We will try to make this transition as easy as possible for you." Stacey said

"Does he live around here?" Rosie asked

"Not exactly." The Captain said

Dave's head was spinning as well. He had gotten the call at 5am. They had found his daughter. She was alive. And she was okay. He didn't know the details yet, but he knew she was in California. It was 7am and he was about to leave the house.

He called Hotch

"Hey Dave." Aaron said answer the phone. He was just getting Jack ready for the day before heading out to drop him off with Jessica before heading to the office.

"Aaron. I need some time off. Not sure exactly how long for but a least a couple weeks." Dave said

"What's going on?" Aaron asked his friend.

They had never talked about it since he had come back to working for the FBI. Aaron had known it was not a topic that he would want to talk about and as far as both men knew no one else on the team knew about the situation. Gideon had known but he was long gone from the team.

"They found her Aaron… She's alive. And okay they say." Dave said

Aaron was surprised. "You mean Rosie? They found your daughter? Where?"

"California. Small area of California. She got into abit of trouble, and they took her fingerprints and than DNA. Its her." Dave said

"Take all the time you need. And if you need anything let me know." Aaron said

"Thanks Aaron." Dave said before he hung up. He grabbed his bag and headed out the door and went to the airport. He was so used to flying with the jet or on private planes when on his book tours, so a commercial flight was less common for him. But he went through security and waited for the flight. Thirty-minutes felt like hours given who was on the other end of this flight.

When he landed in California he went straight to the police station. He asked to speak to the Captain and said who he was. The Captain came out. He wasn't looking forward to having to tell the man that his daughter had taken off and they didn't know where she was.

Rosie was scared. She was angry. She was hurting. She did not want her entire life changing. After talking with Captain Franklin and Stacey. The captain had left the room. Rosie closed her eyes and fell asleep from pure exhaustion. Waking up several times and crying. Stacey did her best to comfort her but it was no use. A couple hours later the captain came back in the room. Rosie opened her eyes abit.

"I have some information." He said

"Oh?" Rosie said

The captain sat down. "I think you have the right to know. But its going to be a lot for you to take."

"My entire life is turned upside down. Nothing can make this worse. Just tell me." Rosie said

"Looking into the couple who you know as your parents. She did have a child. She gave birth. There are records of this. She was born on the same day as you. She had the same first name. And we can not find her. It seems when you were abducted you took her place so no one would wonder what happened." He told her.

"I'm confused… so they knew what they were doing? They were the ones who took me?" Rosie asked. She had already cried so much she had no tears left.

"It seems they hired someone to take you. There is a chuck of money that went missing from his account around the time of your abduction and they cant explain where it went." He said

"I think that's enough information." Stacey said

"No. I want to know everything." Rosie said

"You have had enough information." Stacey said

"That's not your choice. If I'm old enough to have all this shit happening to me. I am old enough to know the truth. All of it." Rosie said

"Your young. You need to know what is necessary. You don't need to know all the details." Stacey said

"Screw you. You don't get to decide that." Rosie said

"Okay. Why don't we just calm down." The Captain said. He understood that Rosie wanted to know but he figured that a child welfare worker was probably right.

"If my biological father is coming. I don't need someone from child welfare." Rosie said.

"She is here till your father gets here. Just to keep an eye on you." Captain Franklin said

"No. I don't need someone watching me. I'm not a child." Rosie said

"Yes. You actually are." Stacey said. "According to law."

Rosie got up. "I need the bathroom. And she will not follow me there."

Captain Franklin nodded. "Across the hall."

Rosie left the room and went to the bathroom. She looked around. There was a small window. She knew she could fit out it if she could get up to it. She was not staying here with that woman who was trying to control what she knew. And she wasn't staying here waiting for this man that she didn't know. Father or not she was not moving away from everything she knew to live on the other side of the country. She looked at the counter below the window. She climbed onto it and out the window and fell. She twisted her ankle a bit, but she didn't have time to think about it, she ran away from the station till she was sure she was in the clear before she headed to one of her favorite places to go when she was upset and needed time to think.
