Plot: Lucius Malfoy was honestly not pleased with his son, what happens when he meets a boy actually worthy of being his son?

"Draco," Lucius Malfoy sighed as he and his son, Draco, walked down the streets of Diagon Alley. "I am expecting you to be on your best behaviour today, is that understood?" He asked.

"Yes, Father, of course." Draco quickly nodded, but Lucius wasn't yet satisfied.

"I mean it, Draco," Lucius replied. "For example, I don't want to see you running up to people you don't like and insulting them. It's as Gryffindor-ish as it is stupid, that's the sort of thing that gets someone hexed."

"Yes, Father." Draco rolled his eyes.

"I'm serious, if you must insult someone then at least do it subtly." This time it was Lucius who rolled his eyes.

"Father, I am the most subtle thing you'll have ever seen in your life," Draco told him, a cocky smirk appearing on his face. "I'm subtler than a king cobra."

"You're subtler than a world-famous eighteen-foot-long snake capable of killing an elephant? That is the brag that you are making right now to my face?" Lucius asked, narrowing his eyes at Draco.

"I...okay, my choice of animal was bad but you know what I mean," Draco responded. "Anyway, I promise you, Father, I can be subtle." Draco grinned just before he accidentally bumped into someone. "Oi, watch it you stupid mudblood!" Draco spat at the person before he walked away.

"I'm a pureblood, you wanker!" The man shouted back.

"My deepest apologies sir," Lucius said before grabbing Draco by the shoulder and quickly pulling him away. "That's your idea of subtle?!" Lucius demanded once they were far enough away. 'My wife cheated on me and this is somebody else's son,' Lucius thought to himself. 'That's the only acceptable explanation, no way in hell did this thing come out of my loins.'

Soon the father and son duo had entered the book store to buy Draco's supplies, Lucius had begun collecting Draco's books for him (called a house elf and told him to do it for him) and was thinking about his son. He truly struggled to believe that Draco was his son, what son of his could do nothing more than brag about being a Malfoy? All of the other Malfoy's including himself at least contributed to the family name before boasting about it.

"Oh, look who it is," He heard Draco's voice and immediately groaned, knowing that in a second he'd likely end up apologizing to someone. "Famous Harry Potter, can't even go to a book store without making the front page."

Lucius paused and turned around and saw none other than the world's most famous child celebrity, Harry Potter, standing in front of Draco and flanked by two redheads that Lucius instantly guessed to be Weasleys. The poor clothes gave it away, along with he dirt on their faces.

"Leave him alone." The girl Weasley said, glaring up at Draco.

"Oh look, Potter, you got yourself a girlfriend." Draco mocked. Lucius rolled his eyes as he walked over to the group, he knew that last year the Potter boy had refused to accept Draco's hand of friendship, something that Draco still complained about to this day. From what Lucius was able to guess, Draco had insulted the boy's friend and then got mad when Potter didn't become his friend and the two started feuding since. The fact that Draco lost a potential alliance with the boy who lived was an extreme annoyance at the best of times.

"Very creative, Malfoy," Harry rolled his eyes. "Did you think that up yourself? Or did you have to get a seven-year-old to help you?" Mocked Harry. Lucius paused and stared at the boy who lived, the group of children had not yet noticed his presence.

"Shut it, Potter," Draco glared at him. "At least I'm not in love with a filthy peasant." He gave the girl Weasley a dirty look.

"Is that jealousy I hear, Malfoy?" Harry asked, raising an eyebrow in amusement. "Out of curiosity are you jealous of me or Ginny here?" Harry smirked.

"I'm not jealous of either of you!" Draco snarled.

"Are you sure? After all, green is the colour of envy, isn't it, Slytherin?" Harry's smirk grew slightly wider. "But back to your original response, you're right, you don't hang around with filthy peasants. Who do you hang out with again? Oh, that's right, two dumb trolls that need your guidance so they know when to wipe their bums and when to wipe yours."

'Sweet Merlin,' Thought Lucius. 'The boy is destroying Draco.'

"Draco," Lucius called as he stepped alongside his son. "Introduce me." He ordered.

"Father, these two are the Weasleys," Draco's nose wrinkled as he gestured to the two Weasley children. "And this is Harry Potter, Dumbledore's Gryffindor golden boy."

"Coming from Snape's pet Slytherin project?" Harry retorted before turning his attention to Lucius. "Mr Malfoy, it's nice to meet you." He said respectfully.

"Likewise," Lucius smiled, glad that the boy knew at least to act polite, no matter what he might think of the Malfoy family. "I've heard from young Draco that you're a Gryffindor, though from what I've seen, you seem to be more of a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin."

"The hat did want to put me in Slytherin," Harry admitted.

"Truly?" Asked Lucius. "Yet you're in Gryffindor."

"I asked it not to put me in Slytherin," Harry explained.

"Why not?"

"Because your son went there and I didn't want anything to do with, quite honestly, I still don't, but he doesn't seem to take the hint." Harry rolled his eyes at Draco.

"Hold on a second, you went to a different house to avoid having to deal with my son?" Lucius asked, staring at Harry with narrowed eyes.

"Yes." Harry nodded.

'Oh sweet Merlin, the boy knows confrontation avoidance!' Lucius internally cheered.

"Mr Potter, I've decided, I'm adopting you," Lucius declared.

"What?!" Blurted out Draco.

A.N; Hi guys, hope you liked this one-shot, a bunch of my patrons on pat-reon loved it and asked for it to be made into a full story, I'm not entirely sure how much I could squeeze out of this. I'm thinking about making it into a short story and doing another chapter or two for it, what do you guys think?

I had planned to upload this yesterday but life is sometimes unfortunate. Long story short, I was rushed to the hospital yesterday (22/07/2022 when writing this), but fortunately, I am better and am back home. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a review.
