A creaking noise rang as the large doors closed. As the wrinkled hands locked the mysterious room, a heavy sigh escaped from the old deity. After so much trouble, it was finally over. His student was sealed and locked forever, not able to see the daylight again. Maybe he could have prevented everything if he had been more careful and observant of Zamasu's feelings. He closed his eyes and heard a muffled voice coming from the sealed chamber. No matter how much Zamasu was suffering, all alone in there, he couldn't interfere.
He detested this, but there was no other way. It was more than likely he would never again see Zamasu. Unless his disciple reflects with a whole heart on the things done, Zamasu could very well be trapped inside for years, decades, or even centuries. Such was the seal he put on Zamasu.
With things settled, Gowasu moved away from the gate and left. He strolled through the white corridor until he reached the outside. As he got out, the bright and warm sunlight fell upon him. He approached the table in the garden and sat in the chair. The old Kai poured some hot tea into his cup and took a sip.
A cool breeze passed as he lowered the cup, carrying the pretty petals from the nearby tree. The Supreme Kai was sad that his apprentice was gone, but at the same time, it enraged him. How could he not see it? No, that wasn't true. It's just that he allowed it to slide because he thought Zamasu was going through a phase. He foolishly hoped Zamasu would understand and see what is right and wrong, but the Supreme Kai deluded himself.
"Zamasu..."
His sorrowful voice reached no one because he was alone. There was nobody to talk to anymore or teach how the universe works. He would be isolated until it was his time to pass on, and a new Supreme Kai was born. A tiny hope appeared inside of him. Maybe he would live long enough to witness the birth of a Supreme Kai.
Gowasu took a deep breath and slowly began to exhale it. The old Kai took hold of the cup and lifted it. He was about to take another sip when something struck the ground near him. Gowasu almost fell from the chair because of the explosion. The tea spilled all over his clothes, and it burned a lot. While trying to suppress himself from screaming, he heard a familiar voice coming behind the smoke.
"Mr. Gowasu. we're here!"
A cheerful voice came from a short woman holding a staff in her hand. "Oh, you already have your tea prepared. Can I have some?" The white-haired angel didn't wait for an answer and poured herself a tea.
"That was quite an entrance, Cus. Befitting a god!"
The pinkish elephant walked towards the table with both hands behind his back. "Gowasu, I think you owe me an explanation..." His expression changed from content to serious in an instant. "The thought that Beerus, of all people, helped you angers me a lot!" He shot a fierce glare at the Supreme Kai, who remained silent.
Gowasu stared at the deity for a few seconds before turning his gaze away. He lifted the chair from the ground and sat in it. "Please, sit down, Rumsshi; I will explain everything. All of my mistakes, and how the 7th universe got involved." Gowasu took a cup, poured some tea for the God of Destruction, and started to tell his fallen apprentice's story.

Meanwhile, back in the seventh universe, a heated argument was about to start. The tension was heavy inside the Capsule Corp. household. Everyone gathered, moved from the garden inside the house, and talked about the recent events. Of course, that included him. He could feel the stares and hear them whispering about him. The way they looked at him, it seemed like he was a circus freak. Instead of talking with him, they stayed distant and analyzed him, commentating on his appearance. It wasn't comfortable at all. He tried not to act on it since such behavior was within his expectations. However, it still hurt and annoyed him.
The flame-haired warrior released a soft sigh as he continued to lean against the wall. He shifted his left arm above the right as he crossed them in front of his chest. His black orbs stirred to the side as a loud screech caught his attention. Son Goku's and Vegeta's wives were so loud and fierce that the poor Supreme Kai didn't know what to do. The wives were about to destroy the deity's ears when Krillin and Gohan interfered. Thankfully, the half-Saiyan managed to save the poor Kai from them. He couldn't but smile as he observed the kind Gohan.
However, the man quit smiling when his eyes noticed someone else. He shifted his pupils to the right and saw him. A drop of sweat slid down his forehead as he carefully observed the purple cat. It was just like he thought. This deity was far above Zamasu's level. Just being so close made his blood boil. He wanted to test himself against a true warrior. A battle against a God of Destruction would be something else. He could already imagine their fierce fight on some remote, lifeless planet going all out. The Saiyan quivered with excitement as he thought about it. While daydreaming about the battle, Vegito didn't even hear someone talking to him until the person yelled.
"Hey! I'm talking to you, mister!"
Her high-pitched voice startled him. However, he gazed back at her, quite irritated. "Yes, I hear you loud and clear, woman. Now, would you please stop shouting into my ears?" He matched her voice, something that surprised the black-haired woman.
He smirked a bit at their expression. However, it vanished once he felt a firm grasp on his shirt. Much to his surprise, the black-haired woman pulled him closer and glared into his wide-open eyes.
"Don't you talk like that to me! You owe us a lot of explanation! What do you mean your fusion's permanent!? Don't tell me I won't see my Goku again!?"
The warrior didn't answer. He could only blink as he tried to figure out why he couldn't back away. Not to mention, she was strong. It didn't make any sense. While he stared into her eyes, some memories flashed inside him. Son Goku's memory fragments with his wife carried a warm, kind, and even a scared feeling. Maybe that would explain why he couldn't do anything.
However, he wouldn't let it have control over him. He lifted a hand and gently placed it on Chi-Chi's. "I'm sorry... Yes, there's a lot to explain, but could both of you calm yourself for a moment?" He spoke softly as he shifted the gaze from her to Bulma.
Chi-Chi wanted to object but, for some reason, couldn't. Suddenly, her attention moved to her older son. "Mom, he's right... Please, calm down and sit." She stared at her tall son with watery eyes as he placed both hands on her and helped her walk.
Gohan didn't like to see his mother like this. It wasn't the first time either. The last thing he wanted was for her to be hurt again. However, this situation was different from those times. He couldn't determine just yet, but there was undoubtedly a reason for this.
The hybrid helped his mother sit down close to his wife and daughter. His orbs moved toward the deities and spoke. "Whis, you seemed surprised when Vegito announced the fusion was permanent. Why?" Gohan adjusted his glasses as he asked the question.
Whis closed his eyes and smiled. Son Goku's son was quite a sharp fellow. "Hm, that would be because the Potara earrings don't work the same on mortals as they do with Supreme Kais." The angel halted for a moment as he drank the warm tea.
After he praised how well made the tea was, the deity continued. "It's like this... The union lasts forever when a Supreme Kai fuses with another one or someone else. But when it comes to mortals like yourselves, the fusion lasts for an hour." He rose from the chair and elegantly approached Vegito.
"Which is why this predicament is quite interesting."
Whis twirled the staff behind his back as he smirked at the Saiyan. He never anticipated something like this to occur to the two warriors. It was something else; honestly, it piqued his interest. After all, this universe's best fighters created this impressive and talented being with the potential to be extraordinary. He wanted to see the heights this Saiyan could break and reach.
Not everyone thought the same as the angel. "Interesting!? Are you out of your mind!? I want my husband back!" The loud and angry voice came from Bulma.
The tall angel didn't respond and retreated to the table while Bulma's fists trembled. "There must be a way to undo the fusion! Can't you do it, Whis? You can almost do anything." Her voice cracked out of frustration. Each time she looked at Vegito, it reminded her of her husband.
Whis stayed quiet. The white-haired deity shook his head, on which Bulma mumbled something. Whis paid no attention to it, but he noticed a sharp gaze from Beerus.
"Umm, Supreme Kai? Weren't you fused with Kibito? How come you defused?"
The question came from Krillin, who gained a lot of attention. He blinked a few times until he nervously began to scratch the back of his head and laugh.
All the gazes shifted to Shin, who honestly forgot about it and tried to make it not seem so. "Ahem, yes. Kibito and I were permanently fused because I'm a Supreme Kai. We used the Namekian dragon balls to separate us before the last tournament." Once he said that he sensed a dangerous yet familiar glare from behind. He pretended not to feel it and minded his business.
Bulma was thrilled to hear that. "That's it, the dragon balls!" There was hope to get their husbands back. "All we need to do is gather all the dragon balls and ask Shenron to undo the fusion!" She almost jumped as she approached Chi-Chi.
Son Goku's wife was just as happy as Bulma when she heard that. "You're right! Oh, I can't wait to have my Goku back. Aren't you happy, Goten? Your father will come back home!" The former martial artist turned to her youngest son and hugged him.
The mood quickly changed. While Bulma and Chi-Chi laughed and celebrated their husbands' imminent return, there was one person not happy at all. He was isolated from the others. His head was down, letting the two strands of hair cover his eyes and prevent everyone from seeing his expression. He foresaw this; it was apparent it would be like this, yet it irritated him greatly. Maybe it was his fault. Deep inside, he hoped they would be more understanding and care about his presence.
He bit the flesh inside his mouth. The emotions he held back slowly began to slip through his grasp. Negative thoughts started to float inside his head. They didn't treat him as a person. To them, he was a last-ditch effort. Come, save the day and go away into nothingness until needed again. It pained him a lot and hurt more than the damages received in battle. He didn't want to vanish again and be a backup plan in case things went wrong. If his creators wanted him to live and experience everything the world has to offer, then why couldn't they also?
Only a few people didn't celebrate as much as others: Piccolo, older Trunks, and Beerus and Whis. While the tall Namekian stood behind the couch where the Son family sat alongside Bulma, he could feel the Vegito's ki shift. Others were utterly unaware that the Saiyan had a different opinion from them. It was a complicated situation, and even he didn't know how to approach it. However, he hoped the fusion of Goku and Vegeta wouldn't cause a scene.
Not so far from Piccolo, Future Trunks didn't like this. "Mai, this doesn't feel right..." The black-haired woman agreed. He looked at the Saiyan and felt terrible.
Of course, he wanted his father back so his mother would be happy again, but was it suitable for Vegito? Shouldn't the man be asked at least something? After all, he was here, and they ignored him completely. Trunks couldn't just stay back and be quiet. He wanted to talk with Vegito and hear what he thought and felt. However, just as he stepped forward, his mother came in the way.
"Trunks! It looks like everything will be back to normal soon! I'm sure you're happy as well."
The warrior from the future meekly smiled as his mother got closer. "Y-Yeah, for sure... But, don't you think we should ask Vegito how he feels about this?" He could see the confusion on her face as he asked that.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
While older Trunks tried to explain his point to Bulma, the God of Destruction surprisingly stayed quiet. What was even more of a surprise was that he didn't eat a single thing from the table. His eyes continued to remain locked on the reborn warrior. He could feel it, the potential this man had within. Of course, Son Goku and Vegeta had it, but this Saiyan was on a different plateau. A thirst for battle once again awakened inside him. He waited patiently for those two to reach him, but it took too long. However, that wasn't the case with this guy in front of his eyes. And all this talk about separation made him livid. There was no way he would allow them to prevent him from having a challenging and fun fight after so many centuries.
The powerful deity stopped drinking his juice as the pressure around the fused warrior increased. He could feel the ki swell at a rapid rate. It was potent and yet, divine. A devilish grin appeared on his face as he squeezed the glass. His tail swayed behind him, excited to see what would happen.
Vegito was at a breaking point. Their loud voices and laughing made things worse. It was so painful to be here. He couldn't hold all the frustration. No matter how much he tried to tell himself it was a typical situation, he needed to let out what he thought.
"Alright, can I have a say on this!?"
His stern and strong voice forced everyone to look in his direction. "Finally, a bit of silence..." He bounced off the wall and stood tall in front of everyone. "There's just a few things I want to clarify to all of you." A throbbing vein appeared on his forehead as he tried to keep his voice down.
"Believe it or not, I'm just like you, with a body of my own, feelings, and a soul. The only difference is that I was born when the two strongest, fiercest, and kind warriors performed a union."
He lowered his big arms and stepped forward as everyone listened to him speak. "Yes, it's painful for you, and it hurts me to see you sad, but there's something you all need to understand... They allowed this to happen." For a second, his thoughts shifted to the two Saiyan.
"What do you mean they allowed this to happen!? You make no sense!"
Vegito looked at Chi-Chi, who angrily rose from the couch. "It's as I said. Son Goku and Vegeta understood my deep desire and right to live and experience life to the fullest! I don't know how, but together we surpassed the divine tools' rules! They fought for this..." For a moment, he lowered his voice as he thought about them.
"So, you mean to tell us you're going to stay like this!? Are you crazy!? We will gather and use the dragon balls and undo this fusion!"
Upon hearing such a statement from Bulma, his hair began to flail. He fought hard to keep himself from shouting. "Humph, I said what I wanted to say... You do what you want; I won't stop you. However, know they wished this to make all of you and the universe safe." Before things escalated, he put two fingers against his forehead and disappeared.
Everyone was surprised when the Saiyan suddenly vanished. While Bulma and Chi-Chi urged Krillin and Gohan to locate Vegito, the Namekian just closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Things just got even more complicated, and he wondered how they would resolve this mess.
-x-
A figure materialized on an island far away from West City. Once he touched the ground, the warrior released a scream. The shockwave emerging from him cleared away the grass and broke down the trees. Lighting struck the soil while the rocks began to levitate and vaporize around him. The ground beneath him cracked and started to spread over the small island.
The animals cried in fear as the earthquake continued to ravage the island. However, the person doing that suddenly stopped. He realized it was unnecessary to do this. While the sweat dripped from his chin, he looked at the damage he had done. He cursed as he allowed himself to lose his composure.
It was all because they couldn't understand him. He was so angry, disappointed, and sad. But then again, was it right? He robbed them of their husbands, fathers, and friends. All because he didn't want to experience that horrible, lonesome feeling again. He didn't know what was right or wrong anymore.
Despite feeling guilt, he didn't want to die again. He was a person of flesh and blood with a soul. True, he could see into the memories of Son Goku and Vegeta, even feel their presence at the time, but that was it. He had his thoughts and desires; theirs didn't drive him. His body moved how he wanted. He spoke when he wished and to whom when needed. Hell, he even has a name. Isn't that enough?
He just wanted to live and see the world. They could see through his soul and fought for him to remain intact. Despite being so prideful, hungry for battles, and having families, they allowed him to live. They let him have a chance and see everything and experience what the universe has to offer him. He will be forever grateful to them and will never allow their memories to fade away. Even now, when he closed his eyes, he could feel their spirits pushing him forward. Yes, it would be harsh on the families and friends to accept it, but he would be there for them, no matter how much they were against him.
With his thoughts somewhat settled, Vegito relaxed a little bit. He let out a long-held breath and closed his eyes. The breeze that passed through the island felt great against his skin. He felt so alive and strong at the moment. Words weren't enough to explain the feeling he had at the moment.
Slowly, the warrior opened his eyes and suddenly flew high into the sky. He smiled as he stared at the bright stars and the moon. As he reached the desired height, he remained up there for almost a minute. As he let go, he began to fall. The wind crashed against his back, but it didn't bother him. Instead, he laughed as he twisted in the air while falling.
Mere moments before plunging into the sea, the Saiyan took control and glided above the water. He put his hand on the surface as he flew above it. The bright smile never left as he played around. However, that came to an abrupt end when his stomach growled.
Without putting much thought into it, he dived. He grinned as he kept going deeper. The warrior liked this feeling as he searched for prey. As he went further, he finally saw a school of fish. They were pretty small and wouldn't be enough to satisfy his hunger. Lucky for him, a big one appeared from the darkness. The Saiyan narrowed his eyes and propelled himself at the giant fish. A weak punch to the gut was more than enough to kill his prey. Happy with what he caught, Vegito flew out of the sea and returned to the island.
Once he returned, he tried to find a nice spot to camp. He dragged the fish by the tail as he walked across the island. After only a few minutes, he found a shallow cave near the water surrounded by trees. He smirked and decided the place was perfect.
While the fish roasted above the fire, Vegito removed his clothes and placed them near the flames to dry. As he waited for his meal to finish, he couldn't but stare at the scorching flames. Despite having a nostalgic feeling about this, it was a brand new experience for him. He liked this quite a lot. There was nothing but nature around him, and he felt at peace. As he looked up, he stared at the big moon, which finally appeared as the clouds sailed away. The more he stared at it, the strange longing feeling for something increased. He couldn't tell why or what it was, but the Saiyan didn't dwell too much on it.
After waiting for a little while, the warrior could finally eat. He ravaged through the fish like an animal. It was absurd to think, but this was his first time eating a meal. He loved it and couldn't get enough. A warm, large smile was on his face as he ate the meat.
He ate the whole thing in only five minutes. With his left hand, he grasped the apple and bit into it. While he chewed the fruit, his thoughts shifted back to the essential things. Despite how lovely and peaceful this place was, he couldn't run away from them. Questions started to appear in his head. If he genuinely went on with this, where would he live? Would he be forced to choose between families? What about the boys? Would he act as a father figure? Or what if they asked him to be a husband? He dreaded even thinking of some, but all those questions needed a serious answer. No matter how much he tried not to think, someone will ask that.
This is why he needed time to think; this might be the right place for that. He won't leave this island until he has concrete answers to any possible questions they might ask of him. The more he prepared, the better because the last thing he wanted was to hurt someone's feelings. It might prove to be the most challenging battle, but he was confident he could overcome this predicament. The flame-haired Saiyan lay on the soft grass and closed his eyes as the fire kept him warm.
