Ch4
Setting 1 Reptile House
Dib and Gretchen were in the reptile house. Gretchen had gloves on and she was grabbing the snake.
-Gretchen- It is ok little fellow you are going to be fine. (She picked him up.)
-Hailey- (She and Rig ran up.) Gretchen, Dib! THERE YOU GUYS ARE!
-Gretchen- Shh! You will scare Apollo.
-Rig- Who?
-Gretchen- The snake, he has had a rough day. But it is all over now. (She said as she put the snake back where it belonged and Dib closed the cage.)
-Dib- He is not the only one. I am glad the Zoo people did not see us doing this.
-Gretchen- True but if you ask me they need better Employees here. I might apply when I get older.
-Dib- I bet you would be great at it. I know Apollo would agree.
-Gretchen- Thanks Dib.
-Thistle- (He looked at the snake who looked back sticking it's tongue out.) Dib?
-Dib- No Thistle, that is a snake. Can you say snake?
-Thistle- Dib. (He said then he touched his collar showing off his dragon form.)
-Dib- No don't do that. (He tried to grab Thistle. But he flew on top of Dib's head.) Hey get down from there.
-Thistle- (He looked at the snake and stuck his tongue out at it.) Shh- nake.
-Dib- Oh good job Thistle, but please put your disguise back on. Before someone sees. (He did just that.) Good boy.
-Thistle- (He jumped into Dib's arms.) Snake.
-Gretchen- Aw Thistle you are so cute. (she said petting him.) Congratulations on saying your second word. Now what was it you guys wanted to tell us?
-Hailey- What? oh yah. Well there is good news and bad news. The good news is that Tak and Skoodge went home.
-Dib- Oh great, we can go back to our date…
-Rig- The bad news is the Wisest is coming here.
-Dib- Of course.
-Gretchen- This is great news. (She said while petting Chloe.)
-Hailey- what -NO IT IS TERRIBLE! She is going to use her truth touch on Zim.
-Rig- We could tell because she said and I quote. "Zim is very close to losing it. He just needs a good truthful push." (He said in Liz voice clearly having recorded it to make a point.) She can be pretty unsubtle when it comes to it.
-Dib- Wait, what?
-Rig- The Wisest has the ability to make anybody tell the truth simply by touching them. Even with her glove on the victim cannot help but blurt out any truth the Wisest wants.
-Dib- Oh man why didn't I think of that? When I was trying to expose Zim I should've used a truth serum.
-Hailey- Dib focus if the Wisest uses that power on Zim. She could make him say something in front of Sargent Julie that he can never take back. Which is why this is not great news Gretchen.
-Gretchen- Yes it is.
-Hailey- How?
-Gretchen- Well whenever me and my sister Kim have a problem the best way to solve it is with face to face confrontation.
-Hailey- You are still going to lecture her!? I TOLD YOU THAT IS DANGEROUS!
-Gretchen- Hailey, I know you are scared, but we got this. We both have sisters, so we can use that to relate to what the Wisest is going through.
-Dib- Gretchen is right, although I would never do this to Gaz. I wouldn't live to see the end of it. I still have nightmares about what she did to me after the pig taste curse. So much filth.
-Rig- Part of me wants to hear this story.
-Dib- Trust me, you don't. Now come on. We need to find the Wisest before she finds Zim. I assume you have a pak tracker set for her?
-Hailey- Well, Rig does.
-Rig- You would too if she threatened to destroy your snacks. (He said taking it.)
-Dib- Alright- according to this, she just landed not far from here. We'll need some way to see through her disguise cause I assume it is going to be a good one.
-Hailey- I have these glasses that show through any alien disguise.
-Dib- Aw man, I should have thought of something like that too. (He hit his head with his hand in frustration.)
-Rig- You're not good at your job.
-Dib- At least I did not get fired.
-Rig- (He sighed.) Not like I wanted the job in the first place.
-Gretchen- (She took the glasses from Hailey and put them on.) Come on, we have intervention that must be enacted before it is too late. (They headed off to go find the Wisest.)
Setting 2 Confrontation
Gretchen's group of heroes had just spotted the Wisest in a crowd.
-Gretchen- There she is, the woman wearing the sun hat. Now let's go. (Hailey grabbed Gretchen's shoulder.)
-Hailey- Wait, Gretchen… would it be alright if Rig and I stayed here? I mean, we're terrified of what the Wisest might do if she finds out we have been helping you.
-Rig- I'm not.
-Hailey- I am scared enough for both of us. (She said hugging herself and shaking in fear. Gretchen put her hands on Hailey's shoulders to calm her down.)
-Gretchen- It is ok, Hailey. you have done enough. Thank you for everything.
-Hailey- You're welcome, I wish you luck.
-Rig- Break a leg. By that I mean don't let her do it for you.
-Hailey- What? No- why would you say that the Wisest would not break their legs…Would she?
-Rig- She is a famous sniper. They did not call her dead shot in The Universal Wars for nothing.
-Dib- Maybe we should rethink this.
-Gretchen- No, this is the right thing to do. We will be fine. Come on you guys. (They walk off towards the Wisest.)
-Rig- They are dead. (He and Hailey hid.)
Gretchen looked up to the woman they all had cornered.
-Gretchen- Miss The Wisest! We know what you've been up to! (Chloe and Thistle Growled at the Wisest.)
-Elizabeth- Oh no, children and dogs whatever shall I do? Kid, I have places to be. (She tried to move around the group)
-Dib- You are not going anywhere. We have been stopping you all day.
-Elizabeth- I thought I recognized Thistle. (she sighed in annoyance) Gretchen, I appreciate your efforts, but you know full well that a couple of kids and their pets won't stop me.
-Dib- (Thistle Growled and steam came out of his mouth.) No! Thistle, you can't go big in public.
-Elizabeth- Like I said you don't scare me. Now move.
-Gretchen- (she opened her arms wide.) Not until we talk things through!
-Elizabeth- Gretchen, it's not the time for games. I have things to do.
-Gretchen- Then stop acting like your sister's love life is a game!
-Elizabeth- Gretchen, stay in your lane. I'm trying to save my sister from a life of mediocrity.
-Gretchen- No, you're not! You're meddling!
-Elizabeth- Child, I will not warn you again.
-Gretchen- I don't need your warning! You need to respect your sister's boundaries! A sister's trust is a delicate thing that needs to be well maintained by both parties! Did you even consider how Julie would feel about all this? (more talk)
As Gretchen stands atop her soapbox, Elizabeth notices a pair of unearthly glasses. Once Gretchen is deep into her speech The Wisest quietly tosses a ball from her pak to one side distracting Chloe and a gem from her PAK to the other side, distracting Thistle. They both ran in different directions.
-Dib- Thistle, Chloe! C'mon not right now-
Elizabeth quickly took the glasses, and before Gretchen had a chance to react, the tall woman walked into an incoming group of tourists, effectively disappearing.
-Dib- (He sighed.) Oh dear.
-Elizebeth- (She was in a new disguise at this point.) How did they get a hold of something like these? (She looked over the glasses, noticing an inscription. Hailey. The tall woman sighed before texting something onto her communicator, then continued her search for Zim.)
-Gretchen- Oh no, we lost her and the glasses.
-Dib- I am so sorry Gretchen I should have been there to help you but…
-Gretchen- Don't be sorry Dib you had to get Chloe and Thistle I get it, but we have to go back to Hailey and Rig. We need to come up with a new plan. (They arrived where Rig and Hailey had been hiding and saw the remains of what was clearly a struggle.)
-Dib- What happened here?
-Gretchen- I don't know. What can we do Dib?
-Dib- The only thing we can do. Chloe, I need you to find Zim. That is where the Wisest is heading. If we find him first then we can stop this before it gets any worse. I used to have evidence of his evil but I burned that as a sign of good faith. That backfired, like usual.
-Gretchen- But I think we have a new way to find him. Remember the hat Julie won for him at the wack-a-mole. It fell off when he got bucked. I bet it is still at the horse stadium. If we can find it then Chloe can pick up his scent that way.
-Dib- Good thinking Gretchen, come on we have to hurry. (They ran off in the direction of the stadium.)
-Gretchen- Oh Hailey and Rig please be safe.
Setting 3 Back with Zim and Amethyst
Zim and Amethyst were looking for Julie and the others.
-Zim- Julie!
-Amethyst- Shadow! Rachel!
-Zim- Oh where can they be?
-Julie- Zim?
-Shadow- Amethyst!
-Amethyst- There they are. (She pointed to the others. They were both so happy they ran to their lovers.)
-Zim- Julie! (He ran and hugged her.) Oh Julie I am so happy to see you.
-Julie- Me too, Zim. How is your head?
-Zim- It is fine, Amethyst patched it up.
-Amethyst- Shadow (She ran and hugged him.)
-Shadow- Ow ow…
-Amethyst- Oh sorry! I forgot. How about a gentle hug instead?
-Shadow- Thanks.
-Rachel- So where should we go next?
-Julie- Oh, how about the petting Zoo.
-Amethyst- Yay! Baby animals!
-Zim- (He looked at the petting Zoo and saw the goose from earlier.) Ugh…
-Julie- What's wrong Zim?
-Zim- Nothing, let's go to the petting Zoo. Whatever you want, Julie…
-Elizabeth- (She was in a new disguise and she had a soft animal cart.) Aw, isn't that nice? You two truly are a wonderful couple.
-Julie- Thank you.
-Elizabeth- How about you buy a toy for the lovely lady. Any great boyfriend would.
-Zim- Sure, do you want a toy Julie?
-Julie- Well I do love soft animals. Can you buy me the panda?
-Zim- Sure. I will take that panda.
-Elizabeth- Ok. (She took Zim's money and ended up touching him in the process.) Now did I hear you right? Do you really want to go to the petting Zoo?
-Zim- No I don't! I mean…
-Elizebeth- So you've been lying.
-Zim- Well I ah…
-Julie- It's ok Zim. We don't have to go to the petting Zoo.
-Zim- No it is not ok, Julie… This day has been HORRIBLE! It's been one of the worst days of my life.
-Julie- Oh no. Zim, I know it has not been the best day, but we had some good times too.
-Zim- That does not make up for the bad. I mean come on Julie a human bumped into you, that goose attacked me. (He said pointing at the goose in the petting Zoo.) That is why I don't want to go in there. I don't want him to attack me again. I only spared his life because I knew you would not want me to hurt him. Then the vile mole machine made a fool of Zim and we almost got trampled by horses. I lost my hat that you won for me. And I don't want to mess up anymore.
-Elizabeth- Wow how awful. What kind of boyfriend lies. You can't trust him.
-Amethyst- Hey who asked you?
-Julie- Yeah, so what if this day hasn't been perfect. It does not matter as long as we are alright.
-Zim- No, we're not alright. Don't you get it Julie? I don't know why you stay with me sometimes.
-Julie- What?
-Zim- You're amazing. I grew up reading stories all about you. I idolized you. Then I got to meet you and you picked me to date. Why?
-Julie- Because I love you.
-Zim- But why? I am just an orphan defect that keeps making mistakes. (Tears were in Zim's eyes at that point. At the sight of that the Wisest let go. She felt sorry for him. Zim ran to a pond crying, still holding the panda.)
-Julie- Zim come back. (She put her hand on his shoulder.) Oh Zim don't cry. It is ok that you are not perfect.
-Zim- But I should be perfect. I have to be to make up for all the bad things I have done. I caused the blackouts on Irk.
-Julie- You were only a smeet.
-Zim- Two tallest deaths.
-Julie- I know, but did you mean to do it?
-Zim- No, Miyuki was a good Tallest. She gave me a chance when no one else would. I would never want to hurt her. I just could not control the blob without…
-Julie- The collar I know.
-Zim- Then I did the worst thing ever. I caused Amethyst's death and the universe was almost destroyed and… (Julie hugged him.)
-Julie- Shh… Zim, you don't have to be perfect for me.
-Zim- But…
-Julie- No one is perfect. I don't mind that you make mistakes because you learn from them.
-Zim- I do?
-Julie- Of course you do. Just look at what you did today. You were on your best behavior for me…
-Amethyst- She's right, Zim. You did it for all of us.
-Shadow- I don't think the old Zim would have cared enough to do that.
-Rachel- I have to admit, you were a great host.
-Zim- Thank you guys. But I still don't even have a job any more.
-Julie- Oh Zim the tallest said they would have a new assignment for you.
-Zim- But what if they were lying. The tallest don't seem to like me.
-Julie- Does not matter what they think because I will always love you. (She kissed him.)
-Zim- Gosh…
-Julie- So what do you want to do Zim?
-Zim- Can we go home and watch a movie?
-Julie- That sounds perfect.
-Amethyst- Oh can we go to your house Julie? You have a bigger TV.
-Julie- Sure. (They got up and left.)
-Elizabeth- (She stared at them leave. She had lost. She sat down on a bench and watched them leave together.)
-Dib- Wow now that was a side of Zim I never thought I would see. Your truth touch is powerful.
-Elizabeth- And of course you would show up. How much of that did you see?
-Gretchen- The whole thing. We tracked Zim down using his hat. (She said holding the hat.)
-Elizabeth- I just don't get it. Everything lined up. Why didn't it work? Even worse, I feel pity for Zim.
-Gretchen- Good a break through.
-Elizabeth- Dont talk to me.
-Gretchen- I know why you feel sorry for Zim. Julie told us about what happened to your parents.
-Elizebeth- That is why I wanted to protect her. I don't want to lose her like I lost them. It's well known that Zim is a disaster magnet.
-Dib- Isn't that the truth.
-Gretchen- But if anyone could survive a disaster magnet like Zim, it'd be Julie. And you even got to see the side of Zim that Julie loves. That is why splitting them up is a mistake. I get that you want to help your sister. I have a sister her name is Kim and I would do anything for her.
-Dib- I would do the same for mine.
-Gretchen- But this is not the way. She should be free to make her own choices.
-Elizabeth- I know but what if something happens to her because he makes another stupid mistake. I may have alot of power but if I lost Julie like we all lost Speedy- it would break me. Especially knowing that I could have done something to stop it.
-Gretchen- Well, look at the way he acted today. Zim did what he could to survive your chaos and they helped each other come out on top. Now think if you had been helping them have a good day. Well nothing bad would have happened.
-Elizabeth- I refuse to be friends with Zim.
-Gretchen- You don't have to be, right away. But being a little nice once in a while would not hurt.
-Elizabeth- I will think about this.
-Gretchen- Good. Now where are Hailey and Rig? Please tell me you did not kill them?
-Elizabeth- What? No… I had Tak and Skoodge arrest them.
-Gretchen- You're not going to fire them into a planet are you?
-Elizabeth- No? Who would do such a thing? Is this an Earth practice?
-Dib- No, but Skoodge told us that the Tallest did that to him.
-Elizabeth- Don't compare me to those morons that never give anybody the chance to improve. Puppet shows. Snacks. Nothing but tall bullies.
-Dib- This is what happens when you base your leader picking on height.
-Elizabeth- It is, unfortunately, our way. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go back home.
-Gretchen- And we need to return Zim's hat.
-Dib- Do we have to?
-Gretchen- Yep, then we can go home and watch "Bizarre Stuff".
-Dib- Yes! I can't wait to watch the new season.
-Elizabeth- Wait to thank you two for your help. I would like to give you a gift card to… Bloaties Pizza Hog.
-Gretchen- Thank you.
-Dib- How did you know we like Bloaties?
-Elizabeth- Pizza is one of the best Earth foods. Bloaties showed up as a nearby restaurant with…decent enough reviews. It's also in your age range. Now take it before I change my mind. Also, it is a bribe you are not allowed to tell my sister anything about this day.
-Gretchen- Don't worry, we won't. (She took the gift card and they left.)
Setting 4 Outside of the Zoo
-Dib- Zim, wait!
-Zim- What are you doing here Dib stink?
-Gretchen- We were on a zoo date and we found this hat.
-Dib- Chloe smelled it and it led us to you. Here you go. (He gave Zim back his hat.)
-Zim- My hat, thank you Dib. (He took it and put it back on.) Now be gone with you.
-Amethyst- Bye Gretchen and Di,b have fun on your date. (They left.)
-Dib- Bye! That was the most sincere thank you I have ever heard from him.
-Gretchen- How did it feel?
-Dib- Good. Really nice, I guess he is trying.
-Gretchen- See? Doing the right thing has it's perks.
-Dib- Yep! Now come on, we've got a season to binge. (They left.)
Setting 5 Utopia
Meanwhile back on Utopia with The Wisest Hailey and Rig.
-Hailey- (She had a big stack of paper work in front of her.) Thank you so much for giving us this second chance, My Wisest. We are so sorry we helped…
-Elizabeth- It is ok, Hailey. I know you had the best intentions at heart. Just don't do it again.
-Hailey- Ok…
-Elizabeth- Rig, get back over here. (She said, noticing that Rig was trying to get a snack while holding his paperwork pile.)
-Rig- But…
-Elizabeth- No snacks till you finish your paperwork.
-Rig- Fine. (He went over to his desk in a rush huff. One of the papers blew off the stack and smacked into Liz's face.)
-Elizabeth- What is this?
-Rig- Just a help wanted notice.
-Elizabeth- Really? Why and from where?
-Rig- Apparently the Tallest need a new warrant on Vort. So they sent us their list of possible candidates. Probably sent us the list because they are too lazy to think up someone on their own.
-Hailey- Rig, don't insult the Tallest. Don't worry, my Wisest, I will get on that.
-Elizabeth- No, Hailey. I will look over this myself. I think I know of a soldier that needs this break. I won't have him mooching any more.
-Rig- You're talking about Zim arn't you?
-Elizabeth- I am not and even if I am you are not allowed to tell anyone or we will play paintball.
-Hailey- Eeep! Don't worry, we won't.
-Elizabeth- Good, I hope Julie is enjoying her date.
Setting 5 Julie's Base.
-Nedgy- Don't go into the long grass. (The guy from Jurassic park 2 lost world said.)
-Humans- AHH! (The raptors attacked.)
-Zim- Haha stupid humans they should have listened.
-Julie- Hahaha well it serves them right for attacking the dinosaurs earlier. Popcorn. (She was holding the panda toy.)
-Amethyst- Thank you. (They were all on the couch watching Jurassic park 2.)
-Shadow- Good movie choice Zim.
-Zim- Of course it was, Shadow. Nothing better than watching terrified humans.
-Amethyst- I love all the dinosaurs.
-Rachel- They are a lot like dragons.
-Julie- (She and Zim both reached for the last doughnut that was in the box beside them. Their hands touched.) Oh you can have the doughnut Zim.
-Zim- We could split it, if you want?
-Julie- Sure. (They did just that and ate the food. Then she kissed him.)
-Zim- That was amazing. (They went back to watching the movie and cuddled up to each other.)
