Jane, Hermione, and Neville arrived at Sirius's house, via flupowder.

Jane looked around. "Where are my mommy and sister?"

"They're in a safe house in Australia," Mrs. Longbottom explained.

"But, they said they'd be here in their letters."

"It was a spare of the moment decision. I know you want to see them, but they're much safer this way."

"I wanted to wait until I saw my Mommy in person to tell her about…"

"Sweetie," Mrs. Longbottom said, cutting her off, "they're better off not knowing."

Neville told Sirius and Mrs. Longbottom about the stuff Dumbledore had showed him, and showed them, and the locket.

"Those are my brother's initials. He may have joined the death eaters, after I left the family, but I'm not sure what he would have to do with this."

Jane noticed Kreacher watching them. "Would you like to contribute to this conversation, Kreacher?"

He did.

"That's horrible," Hermione exclaimed.

Jane nodded, in agreement.

"Could you go and find Mundungus, and get the locket back," Mrs. Longbottom asked?

"Please," Neville said. "It would really help us defeat Voldemort."

"And we'll give you this locket, as a token of our appreciation," Hermione said, holding out the decoy locket.

Kreacher started to cry. "I'll-I'll do it," he said. Kreacher appaperated.

"As his master, I could have just ordered him to do it and then he would have to," Sirious said.

Jane received an owl and read it. "Luna's dad won't let her go searching for horcrux's with us."

Jane watched Hermione take the leaf, from Sirius, and put it in her mouth. Apparently, this was the first step to becoming an animagus. "So," Hermione asked, "how do you eat with this in?"

Jane, Neville, Hermione, Mrs. Longbottom, and Sirius sat down to dinner. "So," Sirius said, "Dumbledore asked me to make sure that you all know the story of the deathly hallows."

"I don't," Hermione said.

"Me neither," said Jane.

Sirius told the story. "I used to think it was just a story, until James showed me his heirloom invisibility cloak."

"I've used that with Harry. I wonder what ever happened to it."

"Dumbledore kept it. It gave it to me recently, along with a special stone."

Hermione opened the package she had been sent. "I wrote Percy Weasley and asked him to send us a magic tent." She put the folded-up tent in her magic bag, and then she paused. "Merlin's pants," she exclaimed! She ran off, and then came back with the portrait for Phineas Nigelius, which he currently wasn't in because he must be at Hogwarts.

Jane smiled. "Cleaver," she said.

They read, in the Daily Prophet, about the new laws about muggle-borns.

"Professor Slughorn once asked if I was related to a potions master named Granger," Hermione said. "I

told him I couldn't be, because I'm a muggle-born, but is it possible that I am. I suppose it doesn't really

matter while I'm in hiding, but could one of parents be a muggle-raised squib, like Jane's mom, and we

just never found out."

"It's possible," Mrs. Longbottom explained. "I'm not sure if I would have even noticed that Jane's mother was a squib if she hadn't mentioned that she could hear Jane talk to snakes and her husband couldn't."

"What is with you," Sirius said to Remus? "You didn't use to be such a coward." His voice raised, into a yell. "Go back to your wife and child, now!"

Sirius, under the cloak, and Crookshanks went to the ministry to retrieve the locket. When they got back, Sirius ran into the house, while Crookshanks followed closely behind.

"Everybody grab onto each other," Sirius yelled. They did, and then they apparated into a forest.

Jane looked around, noticing that everyone was here except for Kreacher.

"I'm sorry," Sirius said. "Somebody grabbed me while I was apparating, and know they know where this house is."

"Where's Kreacher," Hermione asked?

"He probably didn't grab us," Sirius said.

"Did you get the locket," Neville asked?

"I did," Sirius said, "while, actually Crookshanks did." Sirius examined it, and attempted to open it. "It's stuck closed though."

"Maybe you have to speak Pasaltongue to open it," Neville suggested.

Sirius handed the locket to Jane.

Jane looked at it. "Open," she said, in pasaltongue. She ended up dropping it, closing her eyes, and shoving her earplugs in.

Hermione came back with eggs and bread.

"If we gemma charm food before we eat it, do you think it will last until the next meal," Jane asked?

"Probably," Hermione said.

"It's definitely worth a try," Neville said.

It worked.

Jane laid awake in bed, unable to sleep because of the thunderstorm. She sat up when she heard someone entering the tent. It was Sirius, in dog form, followed by an Otter holding a wand.

"Hermione," Jane said, "you did it."

Hermione, in Otter form, nodded.

It was Neville's turn to keep night watch. Everyone else fell asleep.

Jane awoke to Neville, coming into the tent. He was wet and shivering, but he was smiling and holding the sword of Godric Gryffindor.

Mrs. Longbottom quickly cast a hot air charm on Neville.

The next day, Hermione got the locket out of her magic bag and handed it to Jane. Jane and Neville went outside, with the locket and the sword.

Jane put her ear plugs in and held the locket up to her mouth. She closed her eyes. "Open," she said, in pasaltongue.

Jane could still feel the power and bad energy from it, until it stopped.
