As ant gazed upon the gates, he could only ponder the irony of his current situation. he goes back in time and meets his mother 20 years ahead of schedule and the single worst butterfly effect possible happens as a result.

Despite the distance between himself and the gates, he could still see the red tentacles of the Krakken, pushing at the walls of it's prison, as well as the reflective glow of it's eye as it gazed into the chasm with hatred.

Snapping from his thoughts, he quickly turned around and swam toward the boat like a bat out of hell. "Come on! We need to go." He shouted through the radio and his grandparents followed suit.

His mother, however, stayed. "W-What is-" she was cut of when he grabbed her arm and turned her towards him. "No time. We need to go, NOW!" now terrified, she quickly swam up to join him. The always calm part of himself mused that that is no way to treat your mother, But he simply didn't care. several minutes later, he boarded the boat, followed by Keiko, and franticly explained to his grandparents that no, the gate should not be open and it's opening could spell doom to all humanity.

"That...That's pretty bad... What are the odds that this is a false alarm?" Oh how he wished that were the case. He merely shook his head in defeat and walked up to the main console. John and Kaia, now joined by Keiko, watched as the young man brought up the state-of-the-art hologram of earth, now with three glowing markers, and spoke.

"The only proper way for anyone to open the gates is with the Aphemycron, basically a highly advanced mapthat doubles as a key. The Aphemycron should be split into three at this point. I'm hoping that whoever stole the pieces may have left a clue. I'd really appreciate it if you guys could give me a ride." Once he finished, John stepped forward and spoke. "Kid, if you think you can drop a bombshell like this on us and leave, you must be insane. I'm in." The bearded man turned to his wife. "Honey?" She stayed quiet for a few seconds before sighing. "I'm not leaving my grandchild alone. I'm in." Before they could even turn to her, Keiko spoke. "Do you even need to ask?"

Ant smiled. Really smiled.

"Set course for Tartaruga Island!"
