Chapter 15
Hermione looked at him in shock "you what?" "I love you." he whispered again. Hermione who was still in shock could only ask "why?" Argus smiled "Hermione you are the smarted and kindest person I've ever met." His voice started cracking. "I never thought anyone could love me, you take my pain and loneliness away. I've never had anyone I can depend on. Now I know I can't do magic, but I want to be someone you can depend on. I don't want to be a burden to-" Argus felt a pair of lips crash into his own.
"Are you finished?" Asked Hermione after pulling away Argus could only nod unable to think or speak. "Argus I don't care that you can't do magic. My parents are muggles. I grew up not even knowing magic actually existed. So believe me when I say it doesn't bother me. Argus you could never be a burden to me. If I can handle being friends with Harry potter and everything that has come with that so far, then I think I can handle being in a relationship with you."
Argus chucked, "I suppose you have a point there love." "so now what?" Asked Hermione, Argus sighed "as much as I know either of us don't want to. I think It would be best if we wait till you graduate or at least become of age." "I was afraid you were going to say that." Argus sighed again, "I don't like it either but I think it's for the best. This will also give you plenty of time to think it over. I don't want you to regret anything or for you to be held back because of me. If you fancy someone else then date them don't feel like you have a commitment to me. I just want you to be happy.
Before Hermione could say anything he released her, he then stood up and offered his hand to help up Hermione. Which she accepted. Before letting go of his hand Hermione asked, "Argus we're still friends right?" Argus smiled "of course we are." He then slowly let go of her hand, "Now you'd better go back to your date and I'd better start my patrol." He let her go first down the stairs then he slowly went down himself, wishing he could go with her.
