Warnings: dark themes

"What was your childhood like?"

Torture. Sickness. Starvation. Death.

That was what his childhood was like.

It wasn't pleasant in the slightest.

His precious aunt, who was like a second mother to him, died saving her husband. She failed her objective. This left his cousin alone and vulnerable. It was a miracle he and his family were available to adopt Quiche.

He grew up in a combat school, while also serving as an assistant to his uncle, an advanced scientist. His father was the general, giving him a harder training than most. He, Quiche, and Tart all became the strongest warriors through the torturous training, making them the first choice to be sent to Earth.

The weather on his planet was cold and violent enough to kill a mere human within one minute of exposure. Even with his people's stronger bodies, many died from it.

The sicknesses that grew from the weather, closed spaces, mildew, and the difficulty for many to maintain hygiene proved to make the hard living harder. One of his closest cousins died from a sickness.

The lack of food on his planet was hard on everyone. Most of his people's population were anorexic. The few who weren't were warriors, like him.

Could he really tell her all this?

He sighed. Someday. But not now. Not in this pleasant moment. Not when he could focus on her lovely eyes.

"Difficult," he finally said. He smiled as he kissed her, prompting a shy giggle. "But worth the outcome."
