Warnings: death, blood, manipulation, and implied hypnosis

Pie should have resisted her tempting words.

A sinister-looking Retasu pulled him in, telling him sweet nothings and promising him a life with her in it. A life where his people had a home and she provided it.

He knew at once that she was lying. That she wasn't the Retasu who begged him to find a better way.

But no matter how much he tried to fight it, he couldn't bring himself to fight the attention she was giving him. Like she was some sort of siren, reeling him in with her hypnotic song.

She kissed him. She caressed his jaw line without any of the sweetness and gentleness he imagined she'd offer.

He kissed her back without hesitation.

He wanted to believe she was her. That she was really wanting him.

But she wasn't. He should have listened to his logic all this time. That his love for his kind and compassionate enemy would lead to no good.

He felt a sharp pain in his gut. He exhaled sharply as he broke the kiss. Looking down, he saw red soak the hand against his stomach. A mixture of blood and water slowly flowed from the wound.

She had blasted a rush of water straight through him.

"It's a shame," she whispered. "Retasu really did care for you."

His fears were confirmed. She was a fraud.

As tears fell from his eyes, he deliriously smiled. "Tell her I cared for her, too."

His world became dark as he fell into an everlasting sleep.
