Hello, everyone. PHANTOMKNIGHTMARE47 here, with the sixth chapter of Sonic Forces 2: The Return of Eggman, in where in this chapter, Infinite the Jackal is brought back to life, ready to exact revenge on Sonic and his friends for defeating him in the past. However, Sonic learns of a latent power sleeping inside of him. Will Sonic be able to awaken this power in order to stop Infinite, before he helps Eggman in enslaving Mobianity, like what happened in the past? Find out, in this newest chapter of Sonic Forces 2: The Return of Eggman!

Chapter 6: The Revenge Of Infinite!

It cuts to Eggman's base, where he was facing a fully revived Mobian jackal with odd-eyes, and black and white fur. This was Infinite the Jackal, the 'Ultimate Assassin'.

"Why have you brought me back to the world that should have been ours?" said Infinite.

"Because I have a job for you. And that job is to execute Sonic and his friends." said Eggman.

"I'll do it." said Infinite, as he put his mask on.

Meanwhile, it cuts to Sonic speeding throughout Green Hill Zone, and then stopped by the Lost Jungle Zone, and was petting some of the animals there. He then heard a voice, similar to Copperhead from Arkham Origins

"Hello there, Sonic." said the voice. Sonic looked to see a Mobian anaconda with green scales, and amber eyes.

"Hello there, ma'am." said Sonic.

"My name is Lyssa. Lyssa The Anaconda." said the snake, introducing herself.

"Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Lyssa." said Sonic.

Meanwhile, it cuts to Infinite defeating several of Sally's soldiers with his Phantom Energy powers, sending numerous soldiers flying.

"Bring me Sonic The Hedgehog!" said Infinite. Suddenly, Sally arrived, brandishing her Ring Blades, and tried fighting Infinite, but he easily wiped the floor with her, until Sally had one last trick up her sleeve.

BAM! Sally kicked Infinite in the nadds, and as he was bent over in pain, he kneed him in the face, shattering his mask.

Infinite scowled. "You've just sealed the fate of everyone on Mobius. I have an ultimatum: Either Sonic faces me, or I will have Eggman raze Knothole Village to the ground, along with every other location who worships Sonic, and make it so they have no survivors whatsoever."

With that threat hanging in the air, Infinite left. Sally gulped.

Meanwhile, Sonic got a call from Sally on his communicator "INFINITE'S BACK!?" Sonic blurted out "I thought that guy croaked!"

"It appears that he's been brought back to life." said Sally

"What should I do, so we can stop him!?" said Sonic, worried.

"We have to find a way somehow, otherwise, he'll raze Knothole to the ground, and everywhere else on Mobius, and make it so there's no-one left alive to stop him or Eggman."

"Damn." said Sonic. He then went into the depths of the Lost Jungle Zone, and found a place to meditate at.

"This area is where most Mobians meditate, in order to awaken a latent power," said Lyssa. "Maybe we can test it on you."

Sonic then sat cross-legged, and closed his eyes.

Suddenly, Infinite arrived. "It's time we fought, Sonic." he smirked "I'll make sure the trees of this zone are dyed red with your blood."

Suddenly, Infinite noticed some wisps of energy coming from the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald back on Angel Island, and Sonic was enveloped in a bright light. Infinite shielded his eyes, and when he looked, he saw that Sonic had changed. His fur was now silver, and his eyes were golden yellow with cyan sclera.

True Super Sonic was born.

"What is this!?" said Infinite, shocked "Only I'm supposed to have vast prowess! NOT A MISERABLE LITTLE NOBODY LIKE YOU!"

"I've gotten stronger, Infinite. Even stronger than you." said Sonic. "Because to be honest, I'm not playing "God"...all this time…"

Sonic smirked.

"I've been playing mortal."

(Cue Xenoblade Chronicles 2 OST: "Uncontrollable")

Infinite snarled "I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!" he bellowed "I WILL NOT BE HUMILIATED BY A LOW-CLASS WRETCH!"

Sonic then flew towards Infinite, and cracked him in the jaw, sending him flying. Infinite attempted to use his powers, but to no effect.

"This form allows me to slowly de-power those who possess wicked souls." Sonic explained "If I keep attacking, you'll be permanently de-powered."

"I'LL KILL YOOOOOOOOOOU!" Infinite screamed as he lunged at Sonic, with the intent of killing him. Sonic countered his attacks, and charged up energy.

"Chaos Stream!" said Sonic, as he positioned his arms in an L-shape, firing a Chaos Energy ray similar to Ultraman Trigger's Zeperion Ray, striking Infinite.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Infinite screamed as he was sent flying. He then flew through the Lost Jungle Zone, and nailed several trees, snapping them on contact before colliding into a wall.

"*GACK!*" went Infinite as he then hacked up blood. He slumped to the ground, and Sonic turned back to normal.

"I beg you. Kill me." said Infinite. "I prefer to die an honorable death, rather than live with the dishonor of defeat."

"Are you saying death is not a defeat?" said Sonic "Are you gonna come back as a Zombie Infinite or something? No. I won't execute you, because like all heroes, I have a moral code that says I can't execute a villain, no matter how dangerous."

Infinite scowled. "You heroes, and your worthless moral codes. Pathetic." he spat.

"But, what I am gonna do since you're now powerless for good, is that I'm gonna have you turned in to the Zone Police, and have you locked up for a good long while." said Sonic "I'm doing things my way."

"Damn it…" Infinite groaned. With that, Sonic bound Infinite with some vines, and carried him to the Zone Prison. As a result, Infinite was locked up in a cell, given a 6 year prison sentence.

Meanwhile, Eggman was fuming, "UGGGGGGGGHHHH! GIVE ME A BIG FAT GODDAMNED BREAK!" he hollered, tugging at the sides of his moustache.

"What's it gotta take to get rid of these heroes!?" said Eggman, getting agitated.

Meanwhile, Sonic was being congratulated for his hand in the defeat and arrest of Infinite. Until, they got another distress signal from an as-of-yet unexplored Zone known as the Dark Moon Zone, which possessed a bright purple moon, and was populated with Mobians based off of mythical creatures, as well as monster Mobians.

"Looks like I'm gonna head to the Dark Moon Zone." said Sonic.

"We're coming with you, Sonic." said Tails.

"Glad to hear it, little buddy." said Sonic.

Next time, on Sonic Forces 2: The Return of Eggman: Sonic and his friends travel to the Dark Moon Zone, where they meet the denizens of Midnight City, which is like Death City from Soul Eater crossed with Halloween-Town from The Nightmare Before Christmas, where they meet the resident heroes of the city, Team Nightmares, composed of Dusk the Bat, Kelli the Witch-Hedgehog, Dylan the Hellhound, Rebecca the Witch Cat, Jarrod the Manticore, Rengoku the Dragon, Rengoku's sister, Angelica, and Keith the Chimera. However, a evil witch named Misery Severity the Cat, who had a hand in the deaths of Kelli's parents, causes havoc in the town with an evil dragon named Jigoku.
