Alright everyone, I'm back! Sorry for the long wait; part of it was life offline, plus I'm also working on two other stories and got some ideas for completely new one-shots that just had to come out. That's why I couldn't write this chapter sooner. However, it's here now, so I hope you like it. Will our heroes, civilians and Miraculous wielders alike, be able to stop Kissy Daisy despite her talents? Let's find out right now…
Chapter 3
Ladybug continued leaping around, spinning her yoyo in all directions, deflecting all the invisible kisses coming from Kissy Daisy. Ryuko did the same with her sword, while all Vesperia could do was watch—and kiss—helplessly nearby. As for King Monkey, he wasn't even in the area anymore. Since he'd used his superpower and now only had five minutes before he would need to transform back, Ladybug had sent him to find a place to recharge his powers. So far, about seven minutes had passed since his departure, and he still wasn't back yet. This wasn't good—without King Monkey available to stop Kissy Daisy from using her powers, Ryuko wouldn't be able to use her own powers—as Ladybug decided she should do—to break the villain's ripcord without risking someone getting hurt!
Things were going nowhere, so Ladybug decided there was only one option left. "Ryuko, keep her at bay. I'll be right back."
Ryuko nodded and then spread her arms out, chanting, "Wind Dragon!" Instantly the dragon-themed superheroine turned into a bright yellow gust of wind and light, which flew toward Kissy Daisy, sweeping her off her feet and trapping her inside a tornado.
As Kissy Daisy uncontrollably flew around in circles, screaming her akumatized name again and again, Ladybug dashed behind a nearby building and shouted, "Lucky Charm!" Her yoyo thrusted itself up into the air and opened up, causing a swarm of magical ladybugs to fly out. When the insects cleared away, a little red microphone with black spots was in midair in their place. The object tumbled into the hands of Ladybug, who was immediately confused at the sight of it. "A microphone? What am I supposed to do with this?"
The spotted heroine gazed back at Ryuko's wind form and Kissy Daisy. She thought hard, but this was unfortunately one of those moments where she just couldn't figure out a use for today's Lucky Charm item. The one thing she did know was that singing likely had something to do with stopping Kissy Daisy…but how? Did Ladybug or Ryuko have to sing a song that would distract Kissy Daisy long enough for King Monkey to return and sabotage her powers? Or did they have to let the villain do the singing and have that serve as a distraction instead?
"Hmm…maybe the second option's better," Ladybug said to herself. "That's the only one that I know for sure would keep her from trying to kiss us for a while. She can't kiss and sing at the same time."
Now that she had a plan figured out, Ladybug rushed back into the battle area, where she told Ryuko to change back into herself. Her teammate obeyed, causing Kissy Daisy to fall to the ground in dizziness once the strong winds around her cleared away. Ladybug then approached Kissy Daisy and said, "Okay, okay. I'll give you my Miraculous…but first I have another present for you. Would you like to sing a song for us?"
Ryuko looked surprised and confused, but Kissy Daisy smiled right away and reached for the microphone. Singing was another thing she loved to do, but she hadn't had a chance to do that yet today, since she'd left her flower-themed megaphone (which worked just like a microphone did) in the night garden. Thank you, Ladybug!
Unfortunately, her new master Shadow Moth wasn't as pleased with Ladybug's offer as she was. "Don't listen to her, Kissy Daisy," he warned her. "She's trying to trick you so she'll have a chance to defeat you! Just look at her microphone. It's a Lucky Charm, which always cause my enforcers mayhem!"
Kissy Daisy froze. She looked at her master, then at Ladybug and her microphone. She really wanted to sing, though she couldn't disobey the orders she'd been given; but most of all, whether she was Upsy Daisy or Kissy Daisy, she couldn't just leave Ladybug not kissed. And of course, that last thought brought a smile to her face. She knew exactly how to get herself out of this dilemma…
Seeing Kissy Daisy smiling and thinking it was because she was falling for her microphone trick, Ladybug relaxed and held out the microphone. Kissy Daisy placed her hand on it, and before the heroine could react, she suddenly leaned forward and kissed her on the nose! Before anyone knew it, Ladybug was kissing everything in sight, just like Vesperia—except unlike Vesperia, she had an extra thing to worry about: her detransformation timer, which was now beeping to tell her it only had four minutes left.
Now that Ladybug was in no position to seize her akuma, Kissy Daisy stood up, using one hand to hold the microphone to her mouth and the other hand to pull the ripcord on her waist, causing her skirt to inflate into a tutu. Next, she cleared her throat and began to dance toward Ryuko, singing in a beautiful voice, "Oh oh oh Kissy Daisy, Daisy, doo! Kissy Daisy doo-oo! Oh-oh, oh!"
"Stay away from me!" Ryuko shrieked. Stepping back, she used the blade of her sword to shield her face, while simultaneously waving her free hand like crazy. Kissy Daisy shrugged and then skipped away to find King Monkey, still singing in her special language.
When Kissy Daisy was gone, Ladybug converted her yoyo into its Bug-Phone form and tried to call Cat Noir, but it went directly to voicemail, which meant he still hadn't transformed yet. Ugh! Where WAS he?! She then tried to call King Monkey, but he was apparently either still trying to feed his kwami, or look for some food to do that. The heroine didn't blame him; he was a temporary holder after all, and those kinds of holders could never predict when they would be recruited for a battle…
Vesperia gave a kiss to a nearby lamppost and then looked toward Ladybug and Ryuko. Exasperated from the spell affecting her, she held back her kissing urges long enough to ask them, "What should we do?"
"I'm going to transform back in a few minutes," Ladybug said. She then kissed a discarded plastic cup and gave her remaining teammates some instructions, pausing every now and then to kiss a random object, along with Vesperia and Ryuko themselves. "Both of you, find Kissy Daisy. I'll catch up. If…if King Monkey shows up…tell him to use his power…but he has to activate it in hiding so…she won't suspect anything. Then Ryuko, use your powers, and I'll use…use mine. Go look for Kissy now…I'll transform back and join you…as soon as I can."
Both heroines nodded and headed for the nearest rooftop. However, Vesperia kept stopping to kiss random objects along the way, so Ryuko had to give her a piggyback ride the rest of the way to make things go quicker. Once they were gone, Ladybug transformed back into Marinette, and Tikki appeared on her shoulder. Unfortunately, because her holder had been transformed when she got kissed by Kissy Daisy, Tikki was also under her spell and couldn't stop giving her surroundings kisses, which meant she had a lot of trouble eating the macaroon Marinette gave her to recharge.
"I hope Kissy isn't too angry that my detransformation made the microphone disappear," Marinette managed to say before she gave another kiss, this time to her kwami.
Tikki nodded, just before kissing the pavement beneath them. She then shuddered. "Oh, I hope Plagg isn't here to see this. He'd never let me forget that I gave so many things kisses!"
"Don't worry, as long as Cat Noir doesn't show up, we won't have to worry about Plagg." Then Marinette got nervous, as an even more overwhelming thought came into her mind: what if Adrien saw her kissing everything? What if he thought she was crazy and decided she wasn't the girl for him? Then she'd never win his heart and he'd marry Chloe or Lila instead of her, and she'd be all alone for the rest of her—
"I'm finished eating, Marinette."
Marinette snapped back to the present to find Tikki levitating in front of her, the macaroon no longer in sight. She sighed with relief, and just as her urges to kiss leapt into her once more, she shouted, "Tikki, spots on!"
Luka, Mr. Ramier, and Igglepiggle rushed after Manon, with Mr. Ramier's pigeons flying alongside them. "Manon, we need to stay together," reminded Luka. "Especially now that we know there's an akuma attack going on."
Manon stopped and apologized for nearly taking off. "I just really wanna find Marinette before Kissy Daisy kisses her!"
"She does have a point," said Mr. Ramier. "Now that she's akumatized, anyone Miss Daisy kisses can be placed under a spell, which will make them kiss other people and things without being able to stop!"
Igglepiggle used the pencil and a second piece of paper from Luka (the first had run out of writing space) to ask his human friends a question: Why would Upsy Daisy listen to Shadow Moth if he's a mean person? What made her feel upset to begin with?
Manon held his hand. "You know how Upsy likes kissing everything and everyone she sees? Well, the grownups here say it's only okay to kiss someone if they're in your family, or if you're that person's boyfriend or girlfriend. But Upsy didn't know that, so when she kissed a lot of people and they didn't want her to kiss them, they got really mad at her."
"I saw Officer Roger try to arrest her earlier," added Mr. Ramier. "He…how do I say this in front of a child…he thinks she's a person who can't think clearly and deserves to be locked up in a scary place forever. When really, all she needs is to just simply be told when it's okay to kiss others. Ladybug and a woman in the park tried to tell Officer Roger that, but he didn't listen and tried to lock Upsy in his car. He kept grabbing her by the wrist so she couldn't escape him, and telling her that she wasn't allowed to kiss anything ever again. I wasn't exactly happy with her at that moment, but I still couldn't help noticing the fear and hurt in her eyes. She was clearly so scared and upset that it was too much for her to handle. That's exactly the kind of negativity that makes someone a target for an akuma."
While Igglepiggle fell down on his back in surprise, Luka gulped nervously, already knowing who the woman in the park was despite her only being mentioned in the story briefly. His mother had said she was going to save Upsy just before leaving the houseboat, and she was among the few people in Paris who would dare talk back to Officer Roger with no signs of any fear. If Anarka had been present when Upsy was akumatized, that probably meant she'd been kissed—a thought that only increased Luka's determination to find Marinette and stop Kissy Daisy.
"Let's try looking in the place where Upsy first got akumatized," the teenage musician decided.
"That was Place Des Vosges," said Mr. Ramier. "Come on, follow me."
Igglepiggle got back up, and with Mr. Ramier leading the way, the group headed to the park. Once there, they didn't find Kissy Daisy or Marinette, but they did find Anarka and Officer Roger. Both of them were kissing everything in the park, which didn't surprise anyone. Still, Luka got worried when he saw his fear had been confirmed and rushed toward his mother. "Mom! Are you okay?"
"What does it look like?" Anarka retorted in frustration. She kissed one of the fence rails and added, "And if you're still trying to get Upsy out of trouble, she's in an even worse situation now."
"We know," said Manon. "But don't worry. We found Upsy's friend-that's-also-her-boyfriend, and he's helping us. His name is Igglepiggle, and…hey! I just said part of the song!" Then she began to sing, and in response, Igglepiggle started to dance again. "Yes, his name is Igglepiggle—"
"We get it," interrupted Officer Roger. He kissed the fence and a horse on the merry-go-round before adding, "Oh man, I've got to get that girl who won't stop kissing everything behind bars."
"No, you've got to leave her be!" Anarka yelled, right after her lips parted from a piece of grass left on the pavement.
Roger glared at her and started to argue with her again, but before he could utter a word, he had to bend down and kiss a flower growing in the grass. Then he got back up and managed to overcome his kissing urges long enough to tell her, "Besides, she's not even going to let you help her out of this. Ladybug tried taking your side by simply reasoning with her, thinking she would understand that it's not always okay to kiss someone! And she didn't listen! Clearly she doesn't understand the law and never will!"
"She was akumatized!" Manon angrily hollered. "The only person akumatized people ever listen to is the big bad Shadow Moth!"
"Apart from the people or animals they want to avenge," Mr. Ramier calmly added.
Igglepiggle jumped up and exclaimed something upon hearing the man's words, but it came out in a squeaking sound, so no one understood what he said. Realizing this, he took the paper and pencil, used the bench as a solid surface, and wrote something down. Luka, Manon, the pigeons, and Mr. Ramier followed him to see what he was writing, while Anarka and Roger could only scurry around the park, kissing everything in sight. The blue boy finished writing the message and then held up the paper. It read, What if I talk to Kissy Daisy and convince her to give up the akuma?
"That could work," Mr. Ramier said, "but I'm not sure we should risk it. Akumatized victims never listen to others enough to do such a thing."
"Actually they can," Roger put in, startling everyone. His companions turned to him in surprise, and pausing to give kisses now and again, he explained, "I don't want to get into details…about how it happened, but not too long ago, my friend Sabine Cheng was akumatized…during a city bus misunderstanding."
"Sabine Cheng?" Luka asked. "That's my friend Marinette's mom! Why would she—"
"That's none of your…business. Anyway, Sabine turned into Qilin, an armoured pony-like human…who kept sending me and my fellow officers flying away…from her with telekinesis and wind powers…Ladybug showed up, and she was able to talk…her out of the akumatization. But K…Kissy Daisy's different! She has no mind!"
Igglepiggle made a strange noise to show he was frustrated, then wrote down another message, this time specifically for Officer Roger. When he was finished, he politely asked the pigeons to fly the message over to Roger, and they did, apparently somehow understanding his language. The message read, She does have a mind! How could you say that about her? Upsy Daisy has more personality than anyone I've ever met. How can someone without a mind ask you not to sleep in her bed because it's hers and only hers? How can someone without a mind become frustrated that others keep distracting her when she only wants to sleep or sing? How can someone without a mind feel so much affection for you that she helps you when you are in need and brings comfort when you are sad? Just because she likes to give everything around her a kiss and you don't think that's allowed doesn't mean she has no mind! All of my friends and I can agree that she deserves another chance. She doesn't deserve to be locked away in a scary place because she was trying to be nice and simply didn't realize her way of doing so isn't allowed here!
Roger read the message, pausing to give kisses every few seconds, and as the words sank in, so did an emotion he rarely felt on the job: guilt. This wasn't the first time he'd made a mistake that caused someone else to get akumatized, and yes—two of the people who were akumatized because of him were Anarka and Sabine. Sometimes he just got so focused on the law that he didn't give anyone else a chance to give explanations, or himself a chance to think very hard about who really deserved to be ticketed or even arrested (that last one was indeed what caused Sabine to turn into Qilin, but he hadn't wanted to admit it)! Not to mention all those times Mayor Bourgeois and Chloe were able to get him to do them favours—that had gotten to the point where he could fall for any adults' lies and bribes now, even that cruel bus conductor who was responsible for him getting Sabine akumatized.
With a sigh (and more kisses), Roger turned to Anarka and said, "Alright, you win, Miss Anarka! I'm not…going to arrest that kisser or put her in any…kind of facility. It's time I finally told Mayor Bourgeois that…the littlest things aren't a big deal."
Anarka gave Roger a quick smile and kissed his cheek, then quickly backed away from him. "Sorry matey, that was Kissy's doing. Not mine."
"Apology accepted and understood," replied Roger. The pigeons flew the message back to Igglepiggle, who smiled. Luka and Mr. Ramier smiled too, and Manon said, "So now that Upsy isn't going to be arrested, can we go find her, tell her that, and stop her from kissing Marinette?"
"You all go ahead and do that," said Roger. He paused to kiss a pebble and added, "I think there's a greater chance she'll listen to you. When she's de-akumatized and Ladybug undoes the kissing spells on everyone, I'll apologize to her."
"Good plan," Luka said. And with that, he, Manon, Mr. Ramier, Igglepiggle, and the pigeons left the park to find Marinette and/or Kissy Daisy.
Ladybug finally found Kissy Daisy near the Eiffel Tower, blowing kisses to nearby people. Yikes—two of those people were her friends, Ivan and Max! She had to act quickly.
Fortunately Vesperia and Ryuko were already here, hidden near the Eiffel Tower's lower elevator level. They were trying to decide whether they should reveal their presence and distract Kissy Daisy until Ladybug or King Monkey showed up, with Vesperia kissing different areas of the tower while Ryuko did the talking part. As for King Monkey, he still wasn't here yet, and neither (to her annoyance) was Cat Noir.
When Kissy Daisy's back was turned, Ladybug rushed toward the Eiffel Tower and then started kissing it like crazy. "Okay," she said. "Ryuko, since you weren't…kissed, I'll need you to distract Kissy until…King Monkey gets here. When he does…Vesperia, you and I will give him the signal."
"Um, Ladybug," Ryuko replied, a little nervously. "I've been thinking about our plan to release the akuma from the ripcord, and I'm not sure my lightning powers are the best solution. Wouldn't that hurt Kissy Daisy in a way that could send her to the hospital?"
"I know," groaned Ladybug. "It…it would be so much easier if Cat Noir were here to use his Cataclysm…but lately he hasn't been coming, and I've been having to…bring you two, King Monkey, and the other temporary holders…out into battle more often instead."
"But isn't that a little unfair to him?" Vesperia asked, before leaning over to give Ladybug's yoyo a kiss.
Ladybug scoffed. "He's the one who's not being fair. He's obviously…not coming up with excuses to leave his civilian life as much…anymore, and you can't just stop doing that! It doesn't…matter if you run out of excuses, you've still got a city…to save!"
Vesperia and Ryuko exchanged glances, but said nothing. Ladybug was the leader of their team, and while this did seem a little unfair to Cat Noir, she did have a point; Paris was in danger, and they couldn't just sit here debating whether or not they should wait for Cat Noir. There was no time for that.
"Anyways," continued Ryuko, "maybe Vesperia should pull on the ripcord after King Monkey sabotages Kissy's powers, and while you hold her back, I can slice the cord part in half with my sword. Then no one will have to worry about anyone getting hurt."
"I think that'll work," Ladybug affirmed. After kissing the ground, she peered upward and gasped. "I see King Monkey! Come on, let's put…our plan into action."
While Ladybug and Vesperia worked out how to do their signal, Ryuko rushed out of hiding, pulling her sword out from its holder. Once she was in an area she was pretty sure wouldn't indicate that her teammates were hiding under the Eiffel Tower, she called, "Kissy Daisy, I don't think I've received any kisses yet!"
Kissy Daisy spun around and began chasing Ryuko. She was angrier than before, obviously not happy that Ladybug's Lucky Charm microphone had dissolved after its creator's detransformation. She quickly began blowing kisses, but Ryuko either deflected them or jumped out of the way each time.
While Kissy Daisy and Ryuko battled it out, Ladybug lifted Vesperia onto her shoulders and had her wave her arms like crazy, getting King Monkey's attention and allowing him to sneak toward them without getting caught. Once he was reunited with them, Vesperia got down from Ladybug's shoulders and began giving him kisses while Ladybug filled him in on their plan. He agreed to it and did a twirl and tossed his Ruyi Jingu Bang into the air, whispering, "Uproar!" The weapon glowed bright yellow, casting a smaller piece of light next to itself. That light cleared away, revealing a yellow pickup truck plushie. The plushie and the Ruyi Jingu Bang then tumbled into King Monkey's hands, and he aimed the little truck at Kissy Daisy.
Suddenly Ryuko cartwheeled behind Kissy Daisy and grabbed both of her hands, restraining her and preventing her from blowing kisses or simply allowing her lips to touch anything. The villain yelped in surprise and squirmed, trying to escape, but the heroine held on tight. Seeing Kissy Daisy was stuck in one place, King Monkey threw the truck plushie forward, knowing that since she wasn't going anywhere, he would have no problems hitting her this time.
Unfortunately, Manon and company arrived just as Ryuko caught her opponent, and right after King Monkey released the plushie, Igglepiggle chose just that moment to run forward and try to coax his best friend/girlfriend to snap out of it. Not realizing the truck plushie was magic, he randomly stepped right into its path, and could only utter two syllables in his own language before the plushie connected with his back and disappeared. Instantly some unremovable mitten-like objects appeared on his left foot, around his tummy, and on his left hand—all the parts of his body that sounded like a maraca when they moved. Startled, he tried to say something, but no sound came out. King Monkey's power had sabotaged Igglepiggle's abilities, rendering him unable to make the maraca sounds and squeaking sounds he was usually able to make—including the sounds that qualified as his voice. Now the only person who could get through to Kissy Daisy couldn't talk to her and save her from Shadow Moth's influence!
Instantly realizing why her best friend/boyfriend had suddenly gone quiet against his will, Kissy Daisy took advantage of Ryuko's surprise at the blue boy's arrival and yanked her hands out of hers. Ryuko became aware of this just in time and blocked Kissy Daisy with her sword, but she aimed her foot in between the heroine's legs and then swiped it to the right, causing Ryuko to lose her balance and fall, her sword falling out of her hand as she did. And before she could get up, Kissy Daisy jumped on top of her and gave her a loud, angry kiss on the cheek.
"No!" Ladybug, Vesperia, and King Monkey all yelled at the same time. Before they could blink, Ryuko was kissing her sword and then Igglepiggle, and then she began running around the area, kissing everything else in sight.
As this happened, Kissy Daisy's anger suddenly made way for sadness as she went toward Igglepiggle and held his arms compassionately. "Oh, daisy doo," she said softly. She was clearly sad about not being able to prevent King Monkey's plushie from touching him; Luka, Manon, and Mr. Ramier could all tell.
Igglepiggle tried to tell her something, and when no sound came out, Kissy Daisy didn't kiss him, but instead gave him a warm, tender hug and whispered something to him. Then she hurried toward Ladybug, Vesperia, and King Monkey so she could give the latter a kiss, and quickly, the heroes split up, each running in different directions, into areas around the tower. But of course, since the female heroes had already been kissed, Kissy Daisy didn't bother to chase after them and just made a beeline for King Monkey.
Swallowing hard, Igglepiggle rushed back to where Luka, Manon, Mr. Ramier, and the pigeons were. Mr. Ramier asked him what Kissy Daisy said to him, and he wrote it down on the piece of paper: She said, Oh, Igglepiggle…don't worry. I'll see to it that those monsters will pay for putting a spell on you. That's all that matters; that you and I remain safe, our enemies are punished, and the friendly residents of this city will get the kisses they deserve much faster. Then Igglepiggle tried to say something, knowing nothing would come out, to show that King Monkey's powers had removed his voice.
"Oh no!" Manon exclaimed. "Now you can't talk to her and set her free! You were the only one that could do that! Now she'll never feel super duper sorry for kissing everyone…"
"There's got to be another way to help Ladybug's team de-akumatize her," said Luka, watching as Kissy Daisy continued chasing King Monkey around the Eiffel Tower.
Ladybug called on her Lucky Charm again, and exactly like last time, she received a microphone. "Ugh," she complained, "a microphone again?" She paused to give it a kiss and added, "I don't understand! This can't be…the solution! We can't sing to her as a distraction…and tricking her into doing the singing was…what got me kissed! What is this microphone for?!"
"Singing…" Mr. Ramier mumbled, thinking it all through. One of his pigeons used its beak to pick up the first sheet of paper Igglepiggle had used to communicate with them, and seeing it do so, the pigeon tamer's gaze couldn't help wandering toward the paper. It happened to stop right in front of the song about Igglepiggle's name, and all at once, he gasped in delight. "That's it! Edgar, you're a genius!"
"What's going on?" Luka asked. "Did he just give you an idea?"
"Igglepiggle was the one who gave us the idea," explained Mr. Ramier. "Edgar just pointed it out. Look at what it says on this paper. There's not only a special song for Igglepiggle, but also songs for two of his friends from home. And one of them happens to be Upsy Daisy!"
Manon smiled excitedly, quickly catching on. "So maybe if we play Upsy's song for her on the Lucky Charm microphone, it will distract her long enough for Ladybug and her friends to break the ripcord and get the akuma out of it!"
"That sounds like a good idea," said Luka. "Igglepiggle, do you think you can write down the lyrics for Upsy's song?"
Igglepiggle nodded, and he then turned the second piece of paper around to write the song and its tune on its fresh side. It took much longer than the last few times because he had to add all the music notes, but in 52 seconds, he managed to finish it. He then showed it to his human friends, who were all impressed.
"Wait a second," Luka said. "This song has an instrumental piece before the singing part. How are we going to play it without any instruments?"
Mr. Ramier studied the instrumental part and smiled. "Those particular notes are all high notes. I think my pigeons should be able to handle them." He turned to the pigeons and happily said, "Right?"
The pigeons chirped reassuringly in response, and Manon jumped up and down in excitement. "YES! Now let's go save Upsy before she kisses King Monkey and looks for Marinette."
The chase between Kissy Daisy and King Monkey continued, with Ladybug, Vesperia, and Ryuko only able to watch helplessly and kiss their surroundings. However, King Monkey's detransformation timer wasn't making things any easier for him, and soon he only had one minute left before he would need to transform back. When his Miraculous beeped to signal this, Kissy Daisy realized what it meant at the same time as he did and glanced around, thinking quickly. Realizing she was near Ladybug (whose detransformation timer beeped at that moment to tell her she only had two minutes), she grabbed her yoyo and threw its string forward before King Monkey could jump away. He tripped over it and fell down, and Kissy jumped on top of him, preventing him from escaping.
King Monkey immediately got nervous. "Uh, sorry to break it to you, but I only like kisses when they don't come from bad guys."
"Kissy Daisy," said Kissy Daisy, rolling her eyes. She bent down and started to kiss him, when suddenly a voice behind them yelled, "Hi Kissy Daisy! I'll let you kiss me instead, but first my friends and I wanna sing to you!"
Unable to resist the temptation, Kissy Daisy got off of King Monkey (who, along with Ladybug, ran off to detransform once she did so) and turned around to find Igglepiggle standing there, happily gesturing towards Luka, Manon, Mr. Ramier, and the pigeons, who were standing (or fluttering) next to him. Manon, who had taken Ladybug's microphone and brought it here with her, waved in a friendly way while Luka and Mr. Ramier gestured to the pigeons, who then began to chirp a beautiful tune together. One pigeon, however, wasn't with the rest of the flock: Edgar. While the other birds began playing the song's instrumental part, he had flown towards Ryuko and Vesperia to gesture to them, and then toward Kissy Daisy's ripcord. The two heroines were confused at first, but they quickly got the message and, doing all they could to resist their kissing urges, noiselessly snuck toward the villain.
While Vesperia and Ryuko approached, Luka, Manon, and Mr. Ramier began to sing while Igglepiggle danced. "Upsy Daisy, here I come! I'm the only upsy one!"
As they sang (and as the microphone dissolved, meaning Ladybug was transforming back), Vesperia gently placed her hand on the ripcord and glanced at Ryuko, who nodded and picked up her sword. Unable to stop kissing the ripcord's circular part, Vesperia began to pull it backwards. Thankfully, Kissy Daisy was too distracted by the song to notice this and just danced to it, forgetting about Shadow Moth and the heroes for a moment. Ryuko watched the spectacle in awe as everything happened step by step; this song in particular had to be a very special song in Kissy Daisy's perspective if it was distracting her so easily.
Manon's group kept on singing. "I'm the only daisy too!"
Vesperia had now pulled the ripcord back by two inches. She nodded to Ryuko, who kissed her sword, then raised it above her head and brought the blade down on the ripcord's string, slicing it in half.
"Ipsy, upsy, daisy doo!"
The pigeons chirped some more, and with that, the song was over. The akuma flew out of the ripcord's sliced string, and Kissy Daisy instantly became dazed and fell backward, black and purple smoke engulfing her body. Vesperia caught her (and kissed her hair) as she fell, and the smoke cleared away, revealing a now-back-to-normal but also unconscious Upsy Daisy. Once he saw she was herself again, Igglepiggle rushed forward and took Upsy in his arms, silently trying to get her to wake up.
"Quick!" Manon cried. "Someone stop the akuma!"
"CATACLYSM!"
Everyone spun around, startled. Cat Noir had finally shown up, and he was leaping into the air, using his cataclysm-energized hand to touch the akuma, which instantly crumbled into dust. He then landed stylishly on his feet and with a charming smile he asked, "I didn't miss too much, did I?"
Luka, Manon, Mr. Ramier, Vesperia, and Ryuko all exchanged awkward glances. He did miss a lot…but then again, it was thanks to him that the akuma was gone…
Upsy stirred a little, and her eyes fluttered open. When the first thing she saw was a relieved and happy Igglepiggle, she instantly smiled brightly, shouting, "Daisy doo!" She then leapt back to her feet and hugged her best friend/boyfriend compassionately; a hug that he was more than happy to return, and that everyone else was pleased to admire.
Ladybug and King Monkey returned some time later, and the moment she saw Upsy Daisy was herself again, Ladybug exclaimed, "Where's the akuma? I've got to find it before it—"
"Relax, m'lady," reassured Cat Noir. "I took care of it while you were missing in action."
"You were the one missing in action!" Ladybug retorted, frustrated with her partner. "I called you about a million times and you didn't show up until after we stopped the villain?!"
"Let's not get into this now," Ryuko interrupted, before leaning over to kiss the mitten-like object around Igglepiggle's tummy.
"Yeah, we've got some things to fix," King Monkey added, nodding.
Ladybug sighed, doing her best to push aside her stress with being the guardian of the Miracle Box and her frustration with Cat Noir (which was even there at all partly because of her stress, though she wasn't about to admit it). She then threw her hands into the air and yelled, "MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!" Instantly a swarm of glowing ladybugs flew all around town, freeing Vesperia and Igglepiggle from the influence of King Monkey's power, and freeing Vesperia, Ryuko, Ladybug herself, Anarka, Roger, and everyone else who had been kissed by Kissy Daisy. Once they were freed, the heroines sighed with relief, no longer feeling that annoying urge to kiss their surroundings.
"YAY!" Manon cheered. "We all saved Paris together!"
"Which is why you, Luka, Mr. Ramier, and this new friend of ours should celebrate with us," Ladybug said, smiling and holding out her fist.
The civilians' eyes widened in excitement—though none more so than Manon's—and they all went over to join Ladybug, Cat Noir, Ryuko, King Monkey, and Vesperia as they held their fists out in front of them, in a circle, and declared (either in English or through a squeaking sound), "Pound it!"
Manon had to admit; the rest of the day went really well. No more akuma attacks happened (at least for today; there would probably be at least one more tomorrow), and Officer Roger was able to apologize to Upsy Daisy about the attempted arrest that got her akumatized. "It's just that…here in Paris," he explained, "people are only allowed to kiss someone if that person is in love with them or if they're in the same family. Otherwise, people can get really upset if they're kissed. So…from now on, only give kisses if you have permission, okay?"
Upsy nodded, smiling. Mr. Ramier was amazed at how quickly she was able to forgive the police officer after what happened in the park, but then again, she was very friendly towards everyone in town. She'd even managed to prevent the argument between Ladybug and Cat Noir from starting up again when he'd volunteered to collect Ryuko's Miraculous while she collected Vesperia and King Monkey's—something that had made the temporary Miraculous holders relieved, although Ryuko had a strange feeling that this argument wasn't going to disappear forever.
After the superheroes left and everything was cleared up with Officer Roger, Luka, Igglepiggle, Upsy, and Manon said goodbye to Mr. Ramier and his pigeons, thanking them all for helping with today's events. Mr. Ramier felt delighted to hear his pigeons being thanked as well, and as he watched his new friends leaving the park with Anarka now in tow, he began to gain more hope that someday the entire city would appreciate his pigeons the way they did; including Officer Roger, though he decided not to bring that up with him for now. He wasn't about to ruin the pleasant moment everyone was having…
"Okay," said Manon, once she and her remaining companions were walking down the sidewalk. "Now we need to find Marinette, and then we can look for Mommy and Miss Contard so they can help Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy find their way home!"
Igglepiggle wrote something down on the second sheet of paper and showed it to everyone. It read, Actually, could you give me and Upsy Daisy a tour of the city first?
Upsy nodded in agreement and happily wrote down a message of her own. This is a very fun place to explore, with very friendly people! It would be very nice to meet them all, even if I won't be able to give them a kiss because of the rules here.
Luka smiled. "I think we can make that work. Right, Mom?"
"A tour would be fun," said Anarka. "Nadja and Clara won't be free until the evening anyway, and we really shouldn't interrupt their announcements. Let's do a tour…provided you don't make me speak with Jagged Stone."
"Why not?" Manon asked. "He's the best rockstar ever, and he even let Marinette design one of his albums!"
Anarka gasped in shock. "She…that is true," admitted Marinette, who happened to turn up just in time to hear them saying this.
"MARINETTE!" Manon squealed, rushing toward her and hugging her. "We had the best adventure ever! I got to meet a lot of new friends, we found Upsy's best-friend-who's-also-her-boyfriend, Igglepiggle, and we helped Ladybug and her superhero friends save the day! We also looked all over the city for you, but we never found you! You didn't get kissed, did you?"
Marinette chuckled. Not wanting to reveal her secret identity, she said, "No, I didn't get any kisses."
Once she heard that, Upsy smiled, and out of kindhearted habit, she walked up to Marinette and kissed her chin. Then, suddenly remembering the kissing rule in Paris, she stepped back, saying, "Oopsy daisy…"
Marinette smiled reassuringly. "It's okay, Upsy. Just this once, I'll allow it."
"Upsy Daisy!" Upsy replied enthusiastically, and everyone laughed.
"Alright," said Luka, "let's start the tour."
The group smiled, and together they continued down the street. As they walked, Igglepiggle held Upsy's hand, glad that she was safe, causing her to feel touched and tell him, "Oh, daisy doo." She then kissed his cheek, and once she was finished, he kissed hers.
And that's the end of the story! Feel free to express what you thought through the reviews (as long as you don't have anything rude to say about either of the shows featured here), and I'll see you around. If you want, you can also check out the other crossovers I've written for Miraculous, and be sure to stay tuned for more, because I've definitely got more stories for this show planned. ;)
Note: In case you were wondering, the arguing scene between Ladybug and Cat Noir was written to show that this adventure takes place right before the events of Kuro Neko (whether the events in that episode take place the day right after the one this story took place on is entirely up to you to decide). It's just…when I saw that episode, words can't describe how bad I felt for Adrien/Cat Noir, and how upset I was with Marinette/Ladybug! So I decided to write a little scene here that would give Ladybug a little more integrity, and a chance for Cat Noir to still come in handy during the battle, despite his civilian life's demands and the appearance of the temporary holders. I hope it satisfied you.
That's basically all I have to say here, so I hope you enjoyed my story, and…well, see you around!
