A/N: Here is chapter 3! Warning for language in this chapter!

"Colson, I don't know what you think you're doing, but I-"

"Director, kindly shut up. You both are on my shit list, and I'm seriously considering asking Romanoff to remove you. Assuming Chuck doesn't want to do it himself. Now, I will be quite happy to take Agent Bartowski and anyone he chooses and disappear. If that happens, well...Good luck finding him. If you don't want that to happen, here is what you are going to do. First off, you're paying him for his work. I think what you pay Agent Walker is a sufficient salary." Colson said, knowing that Walker made what Chuck had when he left SHIELD.

"Agent Walker is a highly trained, highly decorated-"

"All due respect to Agent Walker, Agent Bartowski is her equal. He deserves to be compensated as such. Secondly, I'm bringing Agent Morse in. She and Chuck have worked together before."

"Agent Colson-"

"Director Colson, General. You will address him as Director or sir." Fury said, and Beckman glared.

"Okay Fury. Let's put our cards on the table. All bullshit aside, I don't think-"

"Clearly. Diane, you know what the best thing about not being Director of SHIELD is? I have a very large amount of free time. Now, I don't do well with down time, so I might just be inclined to figure out which one of you idiots had the sense to set up a place like this just a few days before Chuck got that email. I might also be inclined to pay said individual a visit and remind them that I have forgotten more about spycraft than that individual could hope to remember. Excuse me." He said as his phone rang.

"Now's not-"

"A kill order. Those bastards put a fucking kill order on him Nick. Give me one good reason not to bury them."

"Thank you. Keep looking. See what else you find. It's his call."

"I know. I know."

On the other side of the phone, Skye resisted the urge to tell May to fly them to DC so she could kill the bastards. She didn't care if they ran two of America's intelligence agencies. They had targeted her friend, her mentor. Skye forced herself to calm down and do her job. Payback would come when Chuck decided, not before.

Lou's Deli

Chuck sat down across from Bobbi and Natasha.

"Look, I get that this wasn't exactly expected but-"

"Understatement of the year Chuck." Bobbi said, and Natasha shook her head.

"We have another problem. Chuck, how long has the Orange Orange been open?"

"Three months-Oh shit. You don't think-"

"Something like Castle takes time to set up, and they just happen to have it ready when you get the Intersect?" She asked, and Bobbi glared.

"How long have you had the Intersect Chuck?" She asked quietly.

"Three days. I met Beckman and Graham and got the tour of Castle after defusing that bomb at General Stansfield's speech the day I got it. I had to use Irene Dimova for a simple bomb. Kind of frustrating to be honest." He said, and Bobbi raised an eyebrow.

"Virus?" She asked, and he nodded.

"Crashes the whole computer. Very unpleasant for disrespectful assholes. Please tell me some idiot at SHIELD hasn't-"

"Fitz has had to fix three of these things in the last week. Colson's put the word out that anyone who puts that crap on their computer will be paying for the replacement and have to go a few rounds with May." Natasha said, and Chuck winced. Having personally sparred with Melinda May he knew just how painful that could be.

"So, how exactly did Beckman and Graham approach you?" Bobbi asked.

"They didn't. Sarah did. She came into the buymore saying her phone was busted. She left her number. When I didn't call, she came back and said that she wasn't sure her phone was working because it wasn't getting calls from me." She said, and Natasha laughed.

"That's classic."

"It's sad is what it is. If I hadn't been recruited for SHIELD, that might have actually worked. I told her I was sorry, but that I wasn't ready to begin a new relationship. I did not tell her or anyone else that I am already in a relationship." He said, conversation ceasing as Lou brought them their sandwiches.

"Thanks Lou. Looks great." He said, and the shop owner grinned.

"Anytime Chuck. Who are your friends?"

"This is Natalie and Bobbi." He said, and the brunette smiled at the other women. She winked at Chuck before walking away.

"She seems nice." Bobbi deadpanned, and Chuck laughed.

"She is. She's also going to know very soon that I'm spoken for Everyone will. Cause there's no way I'm doing this without my best girl." He said, and she smiled.

"A Rodger's quote. I'm impressed." Natasha said, and Chuck laughed.

"How is your partner?"

"Good. I've got to meet him in a few days. He's got a lead on Barnes."

"If you need any help-"

"I know Chuck. Now is there any chance we can listen in on what Fury and Colson are saying?"

"Just give me a minute to talk to Skye." He said, taking Bobbi's offered phone.

"Hey Skye I-"

"A kill order. They put a kill order on you Chuck."

Chuck froze, his eyes hardening slightly.

"Ellie and Devon? Morgan?"

His tone was even, controlled. He was all business. Bobbi and Natasha had both taken note of the change in his demeanor. Their food lay forgotten in front of them.

"There's nothing that I can find yet."

"Okay. I want you to keep digging. You find anything, I'm your first call."

"Copy that." She said, hanging up.

Chuck stood up, throwing a few bills on the table and walking out of the diner. He resisted his first instinct, which was to go get Ellie and Devon while he sent Natasha and Bobbi for Morgan. They could be out of Burbank in less than twenty minutes, completely off the grid in an hour. Then he resisted his second, which was to go confront the Director and the General. They would pay in time. He turned to Bobbi and Natasha, taking a deep breath.

"Let's go for a drive."

Twenty minutes later, they were sitting on the beach.

"Graham and Beckman put a kill order on me."

They were the first words he'd spoken since leaving Lou's. They were spoken so matter of factly he could have been talking about the weather.

Natasha's eyes narrowed, letting a low curse pass her lips. Bobbi's eyes were ablaze with fury. Her blood had turned to ice in her veins. The Director and the General had just signed their own death warrant's.

"How do you want to play this?" Natasha asked.

"We kill them. We take the jet and we kill them both before the end of the day. Tell FitzSimmons to make up a couple of LMDs." Bobbi said, referencing the Life Model Decoys employed by SHIELD when it became necessary for a person to disappear or be replaced. The robots could be so convincing as to fool a person's family.

"No. We're not killing them today."

"Dammit Chuck! I-"

"Do you trust me?" He asked, and Bobbi nodded.

"You know I do. But they can't get away with this. As long as they're alive, they're threats."

"We'll deal with them. The General and the Director will both pay. In this case, I prefer the death of a thousand cuts. We'll worth with them, do the missions we need to. I'd like to keep Sarah and Casey if we can. They're both good agents."

"It's Sarah now is it?" Bobbi asked, and Chuck smiled at the blonde.

"Agent Sarah Walker is a good agent. She is Director Graham's best enforcer. She could potentially be a friend, but that is it. You are my best girl." He said, kissing her softly.

"I am not normally a vengeful man, but Beckman and Graham were willing to place a kill order on what they believed to be a guy whose only real accomplishment was joining the nerd herd, and whose only real crime was opening an email. They put my family at risk. I fully intend for them to suffer. I'm going to take everything from them. Their money, their reputations and eventually, their top agents."

Bobbi and Natasha smiled. During his time at SHIELD Chuck Bartowski had made himself a reputation as a top Agent. Beckman and Graham would see how well earned that reputation was.

Castle- 2:30 PM

"Bartowski, thank you for finally joining us." Director Graham said as the three SHIELD agents walked down the stairs to Castle.

"Agent Bartowski, Langston. So, Director Colson, did the three of you come to an agreement?" He said, addressing Colson as he was now Director of SHIELD.

"Assuming you agree, you will be paid your salary you received at SHIELD. In addition, Agent Morse will be assigned to this team on a permanent basis. The Orange Orange will be closed for renovations tomorrow and in a week will reopen as Sam and Gregg Securities. Their specialization is both physical and cyber-security with heavy government contracts. Major Casey will run the day to day physical security, while you will be the cyber expert. Agent Walker will serve as CFO and Agent Morse as an additional physical and cyber- security officer. Sort of a Jill of all trades. In addition, I will be present for all briefings and SHIELD will have command in the field."

His frustration over Bobbi's lack of title was clear, but Bobbi shrugged it off. SHIELD was running things, and she was with Chuck. That was what mattered.

"Any questions?"

"No sir."

"Then I'll believe you'll be needing these." Colson said, handing him his credentials.

Langley Virginia-11:30 PM

Director Graham picked up his phone. Agent Walker answered on the first ring.

"Walker, secure."

"Graham, secure."

"Sir, this development is-"

"A complete and total flusterduck. Paying Bartowski for our intelligence, Fury's errand boy being present at briefing's, SHIELD having command in the field and having to put that whore Morse on the team. It all sucks. We'll get through it."

"Yes sir." Sarah said. She kept her thoughts to herself. She only knew Bobbi Morse by reputation, but the other blonde was a top spy. To call her a whore was an insult. Sarah also knew her boss probably didn't even realize what he said. Or if he did, he didn't care. On the rare occasions when he got like this it was best to let him vent. While Sarah didn't love the idea of SHIELD being in command in the field, it did solve the problem of the CIA not operating domestically. Colson being in briefings made sense from that standpoint, and as Colson had pointed out while Chuck and his fellow SHIELD agents had been out, he was an American citizen who had committed no crimes. He did not deserve to be treated according to the textbook definition of an asset. She still wasn't sure about an Agent though.

She was broken out of her thoughts by Graham's voice.

"Colson is sending over Bartowski's jacket tomorrow. Review it. Test him. Figure out who he is. Get close to him, and get him away from Morse. By any means necessary."

Graham hung up without waiting for a response.

A/N: So here is chapter 3! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I know the idea of Chuck being in a security company is one I'm using in another story, but I think it makes sense given everyone's background as Agents. Also, thanks to everyone who has reviewed, and I'll see you in the next chapter!
