Chapter 24: Lammy's Idol

Lammy relaxed in her plane seat, eyes closed as the vehicle took flight. A nice nap until she reached Isle Paradiso would do her some good and help pass the time.

"Good afternoon passengers, this is Captain Fussenpepper speaking!" The elder man spoke up. "We are expecting a smooth flight for Isle Paradiso. I'll be turning the fasten seat belt sign off soon, so you may move around the cabin. We should be arriving at our destination within four hours!"

"That should be enough time for a small nap…" Lammy thought to herself, opening an eye to grab the soundproof headphones in the seat in front of her before reclining back. She slept for a good three and a half hours, slowly sitting up and stretching her arms before taking the headphones off.

"This is your pilot again! We will be arriving at Isle Paradiso in thirty minutes!" Fussenpepper spoke again. "Please be ready to buckle back up soon as we get ready for landing!"

Lammy looked out the window she was next to, seeing the bright ocean blue beneath her, and a few bodies of land. And just ahead was the resort town itself. Isle Paradiso. Once landed, and getting use to the jet lag, she grabbed her things and got off the plane. Through the lobby of the airport, she saw a person with a fire hydrant head holding a sign with her name on it. She assumed it was her ride and approached them, before following them to their car.

Once outside, she took a deep breath of the sweet, salty sea air. The bright clear skies, the seagulls flying…yep, this place was a tropical resort town. She looked out the window of the car as she was driven to the closest town. It was about a thirty-minute drive before they finally arrived. Lammy could see all kinds of people, ranging from tourists who were enjoying themselves, people selling fruit or novelty items at their stands, kids running around having a good time. They would soon pull out outside one of the resort hotels. Going inside, Lammy would be speaking with the crescent moon shaped woman behind the desk before being led up to the penthouse suite, thanks to a ride on an elevator.

"Katy really went all out…" She thought to herself, watching out the window of the elevator as it moved up, giving her a better view of the islands. They all seemed to be a small boat ride across each other. She could see an amusement park, piers, more hotels, parks, a concert arena and an entertainment district, all from the view she was seeing. One of the parks that caught her attention was one of the amusement parks. She could see a Ferris wheel and the sign out front. 'Monkey Park'. Something about 'Monkey Park' got a small chuckle out of her, it was definitely top of the list of things to check out.

Once the elevator reached the top floor, she would step out into her suite. A large living area and kitchen were the first thing she was greeted by, and they were separated by an island. There was a glass dome ceiling above her, giving her a good view of the sky. There was a big flatscreen, a massive sofa that could fit about seven people, a fridge, stove, cabinets, and a balcony that lead outside, giving her a view of the horizon. She'd also find a bedroom with a big waterbed, another TV, and a personal bathroom with the essentials. She smiled softly and sat her luggage on the bed.

After unpacking, and changing into her red swimsuit, while wearing a white tank top and bright gray shorts on top of it. She would grab a bag of beach stuff and got back to the elevator, pulling her cellphone out. Time to give Katy a call. With a smile, she put her girlfriends number in and dialed. Within three seconds, before the first beep could even finished, Katy had answered the call.

"I was wondering what was taking ya!" Was the first thing the cat said, to which, Lammy playfully rolled her eyes.

"Hello to you too, Katy." She smirked a bit. "How's things going back home?"

"Pretty good for now. Haven't seen any sight of Gaster or his cronies in a hot minute. But how about you, hon? What's it like over there?"

"It looks exactly like the vacation cards." She says as the elevator started to move. "There's so much to do, and I can see it all from the penthouse!"

"Oh, that's awesome! Make sure to take a lot of pictures for us!"

"You got it! I'll call you if something interesting comes up!"

"Can't wait! Now go have fun, darn it!"

"Alright. Love you, Katy."

"Love you too, Lammy~" Katy purrs into the phone, making the lamb blush before they stopped the call. Putting her phone away, Lammy rocked on her feet, looking out the elevator window again, looking out onto the sights, planning her day out. Once she had everything planned out, she followed a path that lead from behind the complex building where two paths greeted her. One was to the pool, and the other lead to the beach. She decided to relax poolside for now, finding a few seats that were in the shade. With a hum, she set everything on the side of the chair she picked, and sat down, arms under her head as she slid her sunglasses over her eyes, a relaxing sigh escaping her.

"Hey there! Is this seat taken?" A voice spoke up, getting Lammy's attention, and she looked over to see the empty seat before looking up to see who was asking the question. A lanky female rabbit made of white angular lines, while the spaces the shapes made, her head, ears, hands and feet were filled in with complete darkness. The lambs eyes widened in pure shock and awe.

"N-No, go ahead!" She answered. She couldn't believe it. Vibri was here! THE Vibri! One of the biggest idols from Japan! And she was sitting next to her! Her mind continued to race as the bunny happily hopped onto the seat and comedically into a relaxing pose before looking over to the lamb, a small exclamation mark appearing above her head.

"Hey, I know you! You're that guitarist that went missing awhile back! Uh…wait, don't tell me, don't tell meeeee!" She tapped her foot aggressively against her seat before it clicked. "Lammy! From MilkCan, right?" Hearing that, Lammy could feel her heart swelling…her favorite performer, her idol, was here, sitting beside her, and she knew her name…this was too good to be true!

"Y-Yeah…yeah that's me!" She answered, nodding her head. "I-It's nice to meet you, miss Vibri, I'm a huge fan!"

"Heheheh, thank you! I like your work too! I own some of your merch!"

Oh, this was getting better and better!

"Really?!" Lammy's eyes shined like the night sky.

"Totally! Honestly, I've always wanted to see you guys live in concert or do some kinda musical collab thing with you girls! I think people would love it!"

The lamb couldn't believe her ears…no way this was happening. Vibri knew who she was, who her band was, and she wants to perform with them?! She could just scream right now. There was no way the others were even going to believe this.

"H-Heh, I think the others would love that." She says, rubbing her face, trying to process everything that was just thrown on the table for her.

"Cooooool!" The bunny grinned, bouncing in her seat in excitement. "We can do a call later and talk it over with your bandmates about it, we can get things scheduled, write songs together, it's gonna be awesome!"

"L-Later? Why not now?"

"Because, I'd like to have fun for now! This is my last day on the island and I'm heading out tomorrow, so later tonight, after we have some fun, when it's time to turn in, we can do it before we head for our rooms!"

And now she wants to hang out with her…wow, she couldn't remember the last time her heart raced this much.

"Y-You wanna hang out with me?"

"Totally!" The Bunny bounced again. "Do you know how hard it is to meet other musical artists while on vacation, especially one I've known for a long time? I feel lucky running into you, Lammy!"

"W-Well…I-I guess I can't say no to someone I looked up to!" She chuckled, cheeks turning a soft red.

"That's the spirit!" The bunny smiled before kicking back in her seat. "For now, though, let's just relax for a bit!"

"Sounds good to me." The two would spend at least an hour relaxing, and when asked about where's she had been all this time, Lammy would tell Vibri the tale of how she died a second time, got trapped in Hell, and when she got back, she was plunged into the future where Gaster had complete control. The big battle between her and PaRappa before she got transported, then the one with her and Gaster in the future before she managed to get back. And now, as far as she knew, everything was going to be okay.

"Wow! That's a lot to take in!"

"Yeah, and that's why I'm here on Isle Paradiso. My friends really, pardon the pun, hellbent on sending me here just so I can relax." Hearing the pun, Vibri started to laugh. It seemed she was one to enjoy puns and wordplay.

"I wouldn't say they're hellbent, I'd say…they just care about you a lot! They know you deserve this after all of what you went through! Besides, I say it paid off because you got to meet me!"

"T-That's a good point." She smiled softly, grabbing her phone, the lock screen image was of her and Katy in a selfie image, while the home screen was an image of her, and the rest of the gang huddled together on a MilkCan stage. She looked at the images a bit before putting her phone away. "Won't hurt being away from all the craziness at home."

"Exactly!" Vibri winks, an angular star appearing as she did. "Now come on, let's get changed and I can show you all the cool stuff around here!"

Liking the idea, the two would head back to their respective suites to change and would meet up outside the front door. Lammy decided to bring her guitar along with her just in case the two decided to have some real fun! Waving down a taxi, the two would hop in and Vibri told the driver to take them to the Monkey Park. They saw some rides, snack stands, and most importantly, a lot of monkeys! All wearing different colored shorts, from yellow, to red, blue to green and white to black. One of the main attractions was a monkey with pure white fur, Specter, who was sitting in his exhibit, playing with a large ball. He pushed the ball in his direction, and Lammy gently pushed it back to him, to wish he would push it back. After a bit of back and forth, the two would leave to go on a few of the rides at the park, mostly enjoying their time on the Ferris wheel, getting a good view of the area around them. The forests, the shining blue sea, and buildings, it still amazed Lammy how beautiful this place was.

Leaving the park, the two would head out away from the city towards Paradiso's aquarium. Getting a chance to see all the local aquatic life, dolphins, whales, some sharks, sponges, barracudas, lobsters, squids and octopuses, and of course plenty of different kinds of little fish fluttering about in the tanks. Lammy watched as Vibri hopped from one tank to another, oohing and ahhing at each fish she saw. She was like a big kid experiencing the aquarium for the first time, and honestly, the lamb couldn't help but find it adorable! This girl was so sweet and innocent in person, which, she wasn't expecting. Most celebrities tend to be jerks when out in public, but Lammy couldn't pick up the sense of a single mean bone in this girl. It was pretty refreshing.

Once they finished at the aquarium, they went back to the main town to start checking out the entertainment district. Movie theaters, Broadway style stages, music stores, a comedy club, which was currently advertising a performance from an older comic, Gex the Gecko. The two made a mental note of that, figuring that would be a fun show to see. Until then, there was one spot they were going to check out, the arcade! A two storied building, with arcade machines as far as the eye could see. Even a copy of Joe Chin's MilkCan game had made it's way there! They started with that game, and thankfully, didn't have to worry about the characters coming to life again and trying to take things over, which was a big relief to Lammy. They would follow it up by playing some fighting games, shooters that involved zombies and robots, skiballs, basketball and a few racing games here and there just to mix things up. They even played some of the rhythm games available, a dancing one and one with guitars, which, despite being one of the best guitarists back home, Vibri beat Lammy by just a few points, which she was impressed by no doubt.

"Wow, good job, Vibri!" Lammy nods her head, looking at the score for a moment.

"Heheh, I practice on occasions!" The bunny hummed, spinning as she placed the guitar back. Lammy smiled before putting her guitar back. With their fun achieved, they left the arcade and decided to head for the boardwalks. Vibri was humming one of her songs, which Lammy recognized as Overflowing Emotions, her favorite song! She found herself grabbing her guitar and playing along, watching Vibri hop around excitedly when it got to the more upbeat parts, jumping over benches, trash cans and the occasional passerby. They stopped at one of the food vendors and got some food before exploring the rest of the pier, playing some of the carny games. One of them, Vibri tried to knock down some bottles with a ball, but none of them fell down. Seeing the smirk on the carny's face, Lammy decided to take a turn, she grabbed a ball, tossed it in the air, and swung her guitar like a baseball bat, knocking down the bottles with ease. Smirk gone from the carny's face, he reached up and grabbed one of the bigger prizes and handed it to the rabbit, who gleefully hopped around again as she held the toy, thanking her newfound friend profusely.

After a few games and a couple of the rides, the two sat down to enjoy some fair style food.

"So, how do you perform the way you do?" Lammy questioned before munching on a fry.

"What do you mean?" Vibri tilts her head, sipping on her soda.

"Like, how do you sing your songs? How do you go at a normal pace one minute, and then go super-fast the other? Are you a vocaloid?" The question in response got a laugh from the angular rabbit, even a few literal Ha's appeared next to her head.

"Yes and no! There are computers involved, in fact, my brain is a computer!" She says before her head pops open to reveal an old 90's style computer, making the windows 95 start up sound upon being revealed. "I modded it to work more like a modern PC, built in wifi and things like that! If I need to speak faster, like a flip of a light switch, Icantalkreallyfast!" She says as her voice sped up. "If I wanna speak slower, I can speak slower!"

"That looks like an outdated system…aren't you worried about a potential hack?"

"I haven't had one yet! I keep my anti-virus systems up to date, and as long as I don't force the majority of my processing power on nothing but songs, I'll be okay!"

"Wow. What else can you do?"

"You know how some of my shows have those big screens that followed up with projectors that shows the little trail I run on? That's all me, baby! In fact…" She gets up, making a white line appear before hoping onto it, casually strolling in place as she sips on her soda.

"You can do that at any time? That's so cool!" Lammy grinned ear to ear as a loop took form and Vibri rolled into it.

"You know it!" The rabbit smiled before hoping back into her seat, finishing off her drink.

"But does that mean you don't have to eat, drink or sleep?"

"Well, sure, but I like doing that stuff! It's fun and doesn't affect me in the slightest!"

"Hmm, guess it's hard to argue with that." The lamb chuckled a bit. The two finished up their food before going back to the rest of the boardwalk, enjoying more of the time they were spending together. Occasionally they found themselves stopping to perform for people walking by, even if they didn't have to. They were just making their vacation, and the vacation of those around them, a little more entertaining, and that's what they lived for, to brighten up someone's day, even if they were already on vacation, trying to relax. They even found a few people giving them some pocket change, thinking they were just your regular street performers.

Afterwards, they got onto a small cruise ship, the trip going around the island to give a better view of what it had to offer. They saw coral reefs and plenty of fish swimming around the boat, waves splashing against the coast, and birds flying around the sky. Peaceful, relaxing, calm. Just how the lamb liked it.

That night after returning to the docks, they went back to the entertainment district, just in time to catch the comedy show. They bought their tickets, found their seats, and sat down, ordering some food.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Spoke a man with a microphone for a head. "Put your hands together for the comedy legend, one of the biggest 90's icons himself, Gex the gecko!" The audience applauds as the gecko himself steps onto the stage.

"Hey, hey! It's tail time!" He calls out, waving to everybody in the audience. "Ya know, I've been coming to this island for years now during my tours, and I tell ya, I can't get enough of it. The nice warm sun, cooling waters, food, and plenty of things to do? I tell ya, it's like being at Rocky Montana's manor in Miami!" He says, getting a few laughs from the audience. The majority of his jokes went like that, one big set up, followed by a celebrity punchline at the end, with the occasional story here and there. Once the show was over, the two would return to the hotels, Lammy inviting Vibri to her room.

"Man, that was aweseome!" Vibri says, bouncing about the place, ecstatically.

"Yeah it was!" Lammy smiled as she grabbed her phone. "You know what? I think it's time to give the others a quick call." She says, texting Katy to see if she was with the others. It took a bit before she got an answer, that yes, they were together. She then tells her to gather everyone around, she had a surprise. Little did she know, they had their own surprise. After a few rings, waiting for facetime to work. The connect sound hits and she smiles as the screen comes up.

"Hey gu-" She paused when she saw them. They all looked roughed up. Katy had a black eye, PaRappa's beanie had a few tears in it, stuffing was sticking out of PJ's head, Sunny's pedals were cut, and Joe had an arm cast. "Woah…what happened to you guys?!"

"…Take a wild guess, hon…" Katy said, rubbing her face tiredly.
