(TW, PARENTAL ABUSE)

What just happened?

Kazuha stood in her place not being able to move from the intense shock that she felt after seeing what her aunt just did. Kazuha knew that girl, she went to class with her and she just witnessed her die even though she did absolutely nothing.

Kazuha could feel her body shaking from disgust, anger, and disbelief.

"What the hell?" Kazuha asked as she slowly walked towards her aunt and the cage. A cage she has never seen before in this backyard. Tears were falling on her face as she saw the poor girls dead body.

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!" Kazuha screamed, her voice broken and eyes already red from crying.

"Oh Kazuha." said her aunt Fujiko with such calmness that aggravated Kazuha even more, "Oh she's just a muggle-born that tried to mess with our family. You know, the usual."

"The usual?!" Kazuha exclaimed, "Is this what you usually kill muggle-borns for? Just entering the island? SHE DID NOTHING TO YOU! I SAW EVERYTHING!"

"DON'T YOU DARE YELL AT ME LIKE THAT KAZUHA! HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!" Fujiko screamed at Kazuha and raised her wand at Kazuha. "YOU DIDN'T SEE HOW SHE TRIED TO BREAK INTO THE HOUSE! SHE'S A SPY FOR THE MINISTRY YOU DUMB FOOL! OF COURSE I HAD TO KILL HER!"

"Liar! I heard what she said! She said she did nothing and that all she did was was enter the island and you said you'll make sure of it!"

"Oh you dumb bitch! She only said that as her last words to look innocent! I was just entertaining her thought sarcastically!" Fujiko said then put on a disappointed face, "You always thought of your uncle and I as evil people no matter how hard we try to make you safe and happy. You'll never be happy in your life Kazuha because no matter how much we give you, you just want more!"

"I-" Kazuha wanted to apologize and explain herself but her aunt interrupted her.

"SHUT IT! YOU STILL WANT TO TALK AFTER EVERYTHING?!" Fujiko screamed, "CRUCIO!"

Kazuha dropped on the ground. No matter how many times her aunt or uncle crucio her, the pain never gets better. The feeling of a thousand hot white knives stabbing you from every inch of your body destroys her every time.

"Please stop please! I'm so sorry! Please I beg you!" Kazuha screams begging for the pain to stop.

"Fine." Her aunt says then stops, "But only because I love you, Kazuha"

Kazuha doesn't say anything. She stays on the ground, hugs her legs to her chest as she cries her eyes out. Her aunt was right. Kazuha would never be happy no matter what with her aunt and uncle, because being with abusive people will never help you find happiness and peace.

-.-

After what happened the previous night, Kazuha went to sleep over at Mikiko's house since she couldn't handle sleeping in the same house as her aunt.

Everyday Kazuha is thankful for a great friend like Mikiko because she doesn't know if she could've survived this world without her. Not only did Mikiko comfort her but she understood Kazuha's pain because her parents were just as abusive.

After a long night of crying, comforting and drinking hot chocolate Kazuha and Mikiko fell asleep and woke up the next morning feeling a bit better.

Mikiko asked her house elf to get their breakfast in her room with the Tokyo Post and Witch Glamour to keep up with the latest news.

"After all that crying last night, I gotta say I'm starving so I can't wait for breakfast." Kazuha said after freshening and changing her clothes. She and Mikiko were roughly the same size so she was able to borrow clothes from her.

"Me too, I'm not going to lie."

Just as Mikiko said that her house elf came in with floating trays carrying delicious smelling food.

"Ohh english breakfast today!" Kazuha exclaimed as she saw the food and her stomach grumbled.

Mikiko giggled at Kazuha, "Come on let's eat."

The house elf handed Mikiko the Tokyo Post and Witch Glamour.

Kazuha snatched the Witch Glamour magazine, "I'll take that." she said with a mouthful of omelette.

"Yeah I know." Mikiko rolled her eyes jokingly.

Kazuha kept turning the pages as she was eating her breakfast, looking at the new fashion trends, celebrity news, and gossip.

She turned to the next page and saw something that made her somewhat peaceful breakfast, a sour one.

Hattori Heiji and Ooka Momiji walking together hand in hand in the Japanese ministry of magic! When will this sexy hot couple become official?! They are both incredibly hot and popular not to mention incredibly smart and match each other's intelligence. An elegant woman like Ooka Momiji might as well tame our mischievous bad boy Hattori Heiji!

a picture of Momiji holding Heiji's arm as she walked besides him in the ministry

"UGH!" Kazuha threw the magazine on the bed, "What is this bullshit?!"

"What is it?" asked Mikiko as she was drinking her tea. She picked up the magazine and saw what Kazuha read.

"I don't what they're talking about but from what I know Hattori-san rejected her when she confessed her feeling for him. My co-worker Miyano Shiho told me so, and she's close with Kudo Shinichi so I trust her word."

"If he rejected her then why in the world is he walking with her to work?" Kazuha asked still pretty angry.

"Why do you care?" Mikiko asked, "Could it be that he charmed you when you danced with him in the summer ball?"

The question caught Kazuha off guard. Why did she care? Why did it really bother her? There's no way she'd have feelings for that Hattori right? If she did, she'd be like all the other girls in Japan that swoon after him, and for what? He's just an arrogant fool that likes being a jerk to her. Not to mention that he's literally the enemy that's trying to bring her and family down.

"There's absolutely no way that I'd fall for our literal enemy Mikiko! I just think that they both look silly and I don't want to start my morning by looking at their stupid faces!" Kazuha said.

Mikiko didn't say anything but gave Kazuha a look that told her she didn't believe a word she said.

"I swear Mikiko don't be silly!"

"Yeah yeah whatever. Looks like he really charmed you.."

"Mikiko!" Kazuha whined.

-.-

Heiji was waiting for his cup of coffee to be done in the coffee corner in the Auror station. He had an important meeting after five minutes and he couldn't be late as usual. This meeting was about Jaakuna and his followers that are terrorizing the muggle-borns. So far they know a couple of families that are with him, but there is more to find out about this.

He grabbed his coffee after it was ready and went to the meeting room.

His face and demeanor brightened up when he saw his co-worker and best friend Kudo Shinichi.

"Hey!" Heiji exclaimed as he sat next to him and wrapped his arms around Shinichi's shoulders, "How ya doin'?"

Shinichi rolled his eyes and said, "Just fine. How about you? Were you able to confirm about Kazuha? Whether she's, you know..."

Heiji hesitated to answer, he doesn't know whether he should tell Shinichi or not. Somehow he got the feeling that he should just keep it to himself.

"Nope, unfortunately not." Heiji said, and chuckled nervously.

Shinichi wasn't satisfied with Heiji's answer since it was obvious he was lying but didn't say anything since Megure walked into the room to start the meeting.

Heiji removed his arms from around Shinichi, and focused really well on what Megure had to say.

"Hello everyone, we're here to continue investigating about Jaakuna and his followers. Does anyone have any new findings on the matter? Hattori perhaps?"

"Yes sir, I just found out that the Hiramoto family is involved in the organization. However, I don't have any proof that their daughter Mikiko-san joined the organization as well and I don't think she did. At least yet." Heiji said.

"Good job Hattori. What about you Shinichi? I'm sure you found something." Megure said.

"I actually did. Turns out Jaakuna is very skilled at occlumency (not allowing someone to read your mind by using spells) and had a pet crow that provides information to him."

"Amazing, just as usual Shinichi." Megure said as he smiled at his favorite Auror Shinichi, "Moving on to our spy. Aia tell us everything you found out. And was anyone suspicious of you?"

"No sir, no one suspects that I'm a spy thank goodness. But I did find pretty interesting information. Turns out that Jaakuna is looking to recruit someone with true sight. Apparently he knows of someone with True Sight and wants that person to join his team to help him."

"What?" Heiji abruptly stood causing the chair to fall down on the ground.

Everyone around him looked at him weirdly, and Shinichi looked as if his suspicions were confirmed.

"Are you sure Aia?! Don't fuck with me!" Heiji yelled.

"Why would I fuck with you? This has nothing to do with you anyway you idiot! You're not the one with true sight!" Aia said.

"And do you have any idea who that person could be, Sato-san?" Megure asked, ignoring Heiji's weird behavior.

"No." Aia lied.

"Alright then, find out who that person is immediately and get them away from Jaakuna. If someone truly has the gift of True Sight, it's best to have them on the ministry's side."

"Yes sir!" They all said.

After making sure Megure left, Shinichi said, "So we all know it's Toyama Kazuha but no one is going to say a word. Why is that?"

"W-what?" Aia stuttered, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"First of all based on Hattori's reaction I know for sure she's the one because of, you know... As for you Sato, you live with Kazuha and are on close terms with her. There's absolutely no way you don't know." Shinichi explained.

Heiji didn't say anything, all he could think about was how to protect Kazuha from Jaakuna and his evil ways.

"Because of what? How does Hattori know about Kazuha? There's absolutely no way she would tell him." said Aia.

"That's not my story to tell." said Shinichi, "My question is why didn't you say it was Kazuha?"

Heiji looked at Aia expecting an answer too. He knew why he wouldn't mention her name, but why wouldn't Aia?

"The girl is innocent," said Aia, "She lost her parents and was raised by people who manipulated the shit out of her. If you only knew what she thought was actually happening, you would be shocked."

Aia proceeded to explain to them how Kazuha and Mikiko thought that this whole thing was to fight against evil muggle-borns who wanted to kill pure-bloods and that the reason the ministry isn't cooperating is because the minister is muggle-born, and that Aurors and everyone in the wizarding world is brainwashed.

"Holy shit!" Heiji said while rubbing his forehead. He now understood the meaning of 'She uses a lot of dark magic because she was raised to believe that she has the right to use it no matter what the law says.' Her aunt and uncle brainwashed her, completely raised her to use dark magic and be okay with muggle-borns dying, when all she wanted was peace.

"That's why I didn't want to mention her name. I feel like if someone told her the truth and she actually believes it she would leave immediately, but I don't think it's easy to just tell someone their entire life is a lie." Aia said.

-.-

Suddenly, Kazuha gets goosebumps all over her body, and shivers.

"Is it too cold in the room?" Mikiko asks.

"No, this is more ominous. Someone is talking about me." Kazuha said half-serious.

Mikiko chuckled, "It's never something normal with you, it has to be something more."

Kazuha laughed with Mikiko, but suddenly felt a pang of pain as she got flashbacks of what happened the day before.

Sensing her pain, Mikiko said, "Let's go to the beach. A lot of young wizards are going to celebrate in the back beach today!"

"The back beach?" Kazuha asked confusedly. No one ever went to the back beach, which was the beach at the back of the island. That beach was off limits and no one was allowed to be back there, but honestly right now it didn't matter to her. She needed some sort of distraction.

"Will there be booze?" Kazuha asked.

"Of course!"

-.-

The loud music, booze and young men and women dancing helped distract Kazuha from the pain for a bit.

The beach wasn't clean like the usual beach they go to. There were seaweeds everywhere, a big fallen tree branch on the ground and some trash from the muggle world that washed up on the shore.

Kazuha went to the man that was handing out alcoholic drinks, mostly beer.

"Hi," Kazuha greeted the man, "Do you have anything other than beer?"

The man looked up at her and got flustered. He blushed and started frantically looking in the ice box for anything other than beer. Kazuha was used to men reacting to her that way, but she wished they would just treat her like a normal witch.

"I-I'm very sorry but we only have beer."

"Oh." Kazuha said disappointed.

"B-but we do have cherry flavored beer if you'd like." The guy said.

"Okay, I'll have two of that, please."

The guy handed over two cherry flavored beers.

"How much?" Kazuha asked.

"It's free."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, yeah. Uh emm, enjoy the party." The guy said nervously, as he put his hand on the back of his neck.

"Thank you," Kazuha said with a smile, "You too!"

Kazuha sat next to Mikiko on the tree branch after getting their drinks, and handed it over to her.

"Ohh cherry flavored!" Mikiko exclaimed, "They usually just bring normal beer."

"Yeah, thankfully they brought something tastier this time." Kazuha said, then drank the beer in one go as if it was the oxygen she needed.

"I'm going to get another."

Mikiko grabbed her arm, "I don't think that's a good idea."

Kazuha pulled her arm away from Mikiko's grasp and went back to the beer guy.

As the beer guy was happily getting her another cherry beer, Kazuha heard a deafening high-pitched scream coming from one of the people swimming in the ocean.

Suddenly, more people in the ocean started screaming and swimming towards the shoreline.

One man started screaming, "Call the Auror Station! There's a dead body!"

More, and more people started panicking and screaming, some swam in the ocean to get the body on the shoreline. Kazuha felt like she was going to die in the moment.
