A while later, Lloyd was riding on the bumper cars. Shirley was in one of the other bumper cars but was tied up. Lloyd played in the bumper car, as if he were a ten-year-old kid. He said, "Wee. Talk about a type of fun you can never outgrow." He did a crazy-sounding laugh. He looked at Shirley, who had a scared expression on her face.

Shirley nervously said, "Please, let me go. I didn't do anything wrong."

Lloyd responded, "That may be true. The only thing you did wrong was obsess over Lulu, like a desperate fangirl. I have no interest or care in your teen romance. What I want is my woman back and by kidnapping you, I believe Lelouch will bring back the only person, other than myself, who I've ever truly cared about."

Zero and Kallen walked up to the bumper car rides. Shirley looked confused, while Lloyd clapped his hands. Kallen looked around and saw that Shirley was the one who had been (talking in her head): "I recognize her from Ashford Academy. She's the swimmer chick, who's always palling around Lelouch."

Lloyd said, "Greetings, Zero. You aren't the guy I was expecting to see, and you didn't bring the woman I was expecting or wanting. Where's C. C.?"

Zero replied, "C. C. isn't going to be coming."

Lloyd had an evil smile on his face, while responding, "Then Lelouch's girlfriend is history."

Zero replied, "No, your plan is history. Release the girl, before you suffer a fate you could never imagine."

Lloyd had an amused look on his face, while saying, "So, did Lelouch hire you to scare me? If that's so, I'm hardly intimidated, nor am I surprised. I expected you and I would come face-to-face. Well, you're lacking the face part, but close enough. Speaking of that, I've been wondering do you have a scarred-up face, or do you look like some kind of pretty boy?"

Zero angrily replied, "How dare you make wisecracks, you freak. Surrender."

Lloyd responded, "Yeah right. I wouldn't go to so much trouble, to put a scheme into a motion and then give up, just like that."

Kallen angrily stared at Lloyd, while saying, "We're going to beat the crap out of you, you smug doofus."

Lloyd laughed like a madman, while saying, "That isn't going to be happening. I had expected, that one of these days an overly ambitious punk, such as yourself, would try to interfere with my master plan. That's why I made the greatest scientific experiment involving robots."

Jeremiah popped out of the shadows. He was no longer bandaged. He looked to be in better condition than ever before. Kallen gave Lloyd a doubtful look while asking, "You expect us to believe that guy's a robot?"

Lloyd said, "Indeed I do."

Kallen replied, "Then you're going to be proven wrong." Kallen started firing bullets at Jeremiah, but he remained undamaged. Kallen started looking afraid, while asking, "He's bulletproof?"

Jeremiah started walking towards Zero and Kallen, while saying, "You dare put the person, who made me a new man, in danger? I have loyalty to him, while your loyalty appears to be towards going against the rules of morality. Zero, you ruined my career, when you hypnotized me. For that, you are going to be destroyed by Jeremiah Gottwald!"

Jeremiah started charging Zero, but Kallen started charging towards Jeremiah. She punched him and kicked him. However, Jeremiah used his new strength, to flick Kallen to the ground. Zero ran towards Jeremiah, but he kicked Zero in the stomach and threw him to the ground. Kallen got up and tried to hurt Jeremiah, by punching him, but it barely made an impact. He had a smug smile on his face, while pushing her to the ground. He said, "I would say giving up wouldn't be the honorable thing to do, but knowing you, I doubt you care about doing what's honorable. You're the smug coward type, aren't you, Zero?"

Zero answered, "No I'm not."

Jeremiah replied, "Well, I respect that. At least, you'll have an honorable death." Jeremiah heard the sounds of footsteps. He turned around and saw Kallen running away. He smiled, while looking back at Zero. He said, "It appears your lady friend has abandoned you. You're all alone and you have zero chance of getting out of this."

Zero said, "That's what you think, orange boy."

Jeremiah had an offended look on his face, while saying, "How dare you call me orange boy. You'll have an extra painful death for that, you wise guy."

Zero started running away from Jeremiah. Jeremiah said, "Oh, so now you've become a coward? How dishonorable." Lloyd had an amused look on his face, while watching Jeremiah run after Zero. He kept riding on the bumper cars, while laughing manically. Shirley continued looking afraid.

Zero ran several feet away from the theme park. He kept running, until he got to the cliff that was over the ocean. Jeremiah ran towards where Zero. He stopped running and started walking around, while observing the area. He said, "This seems like a fitting place, for me to get rid of you in."

Zero replied, "It seems like you've really gotten me. When I started this Zero gig, I tried to make myself think I was the ultimate mastermind. I thought I was going to be able to dominate over any opponent, that dares to stand in my car."

Jeremiah said, "Well, you sure turned out to be wrong." Jeremiah started walking closer to Zero, while saying, "You did manage to show you can be a fearsome menace, when you did the horrific crime of getting rid of Prince Clovis. However, despite your impressive reign of villainy, you are an arrogant fool and for that, you will suffer a slow, but honorable death."

Zero replied, "You're wrong about that, orange boy."

Jeremiah angrily stared at Zero, while responding, "How dare you call me that."

Zero stood with confidence, while Jeremiah looked up and saw a mech flying in the air, that was being piloted by Kallen. Kallen smirked, while saying, "You thought I was running away, like a coward, but you were wrong, orange boy."

Jeremiah started looking nervous, while looking back at Zero. He asked, "What is she doing?"

Zero replied, "She's bringing about your finale. Farewell, orange boy."

Kallen programed the mech to fly to the area where Jeremiah was standing. Kallen jumped out of the mech. She and Zero ran away from the cliff. Jeremiah tried to follow them, but the mech flew into him. Jeremiah screamed, while the cliff broke apart. Pieces of the cliff fell into the ocean, along with Jeremiah and the mech.

Zero and Kallen walked back to Lloyd, who was still riding on the ferris wheel, along with a tied-up Shirley. Zero and Kallen angrily stared at him, while Zero said, "Lloyd, get down from there."

Lloyd replied, "Whatever you say, numberless boy."

Zero and Kallen waited, while the ferris wheel brought down Lloyd and Shirley. Lloyd stared at them, while having a curious look on his face. He asked, "Where is my robot?"

Kallen answered, "I took of Jeremiah. He's toast."

Lloyd said, "Sounds tasty, but it also sounds like my plan failed."

Zero replied, "That's why you better release Shirley Fenette, before you get the beating of your life, you vile scientist."

Lloyd had an intrigued look on his face, while saying, "It's interesting that you know Shirley's name and that I'd be here."

Zero explained, "Lelouch Lamperouge filled me in on what was going on. I sympathized with his story, so I came to rescue his friend."

Shirley (talking in her head): "Lulu hired Zero? That means Lulu and Zero must have some kind of association with each other. Hold on. Lulu mentioned how he and Suzaku hit it off and Suzaku joined our college, around the same time Zero first appeared. Could Suzaku be Zero?"

Zero and Kallen stared at Lloyd, with the intent of defeating him. However, Lloyd didn't seem to be intimidated by them. He said, "It's a shame Lelouch didn't come here, but it's a bigger shame that C. C. didn't come here, because I'm afraid I must get rid of Shirley." Shirley started panicking, while Zero and Kallen both looked concerned.

Zero said, "Come on, Lloyd. What will you gain, from getting rid of this young lady, aside from a guilty conscience?"

Lloyd asked, "Conscience? I'm a sociopath, so I could care less about the feelings of morality. As for love, I only care about my experiments, my pudding, and my witch."

Zero had an angry-sounding tone in his voice, while saying, "Don't you dare call C. C. a witch."

Lloyd had an amused look on his face, while saying, "Ah, you know C. C., as well? You seem like someone, who'll never fail to catch my interest, Zero. However, I can't goof around, forever. Is C. C. coming?"

Sweat came down Zero's face, although the others couldn't see that, because of his mask. He said, "Maybe I can talk C. C. into coming, next time. Please give me another chance."

Lloyd replied, "I suppose I could do that, but I'm going to keep this Shirley girl hostage, until I get C. C. back. Also, I think I better make a mark on Shirley, so you know I'm not bluffing." Lloyd pointed his gun at Shirley.

Zero panicked, while screaming, "No!"

As Lloyd fired the gun, C. C. appeared in front of Shirley. She got shot instead. She suffered a brief feeling of pain, before her immortality made the pain go away. Zero, Kallen, and Shirley looked surprised, while Lloyd grinned with childish excitement. Lloyd said, "C. C., you've finally come back to your darling Earl of Pudding." He stuck his arms out, but C. C. punched him in the stomach. Lloyd walked closer to her, in the hopes of getting a kiss. However, C. C. used her agility and strength, to kick Lloyd far away. Lloyd did an immature laugh, while falling to the ground.

Zero said, "C. C., you actually came. This is a pleasant surprise."

C. C. replied, "As much as I dreaded the thought of having to see Lloyd again, I couldn't let your friend lose her life, because of something that was my fault."

Zero walked up to Shirley and untied her. Kallen started running around, in the hopes of finding Lloyd, but she didn't see him. She ran back to Zero and said, "Zero, it appears the psychopath got away. Despite being knocked to the ground, he still had the ability to run away."

Zero responded, "That's something I can't relate to."

Shirley walked by and said, "Excuse me, everybody. What's going on? Why was I dragged into whatever this is and where is Lulu?"

Zero replied, "You'll see Lelouch, tomorrow. For now, you better stay the night at a friend's house, in case that maniac comes after you again."

Shirley said, "Um, okay then. I'll call Sophie." She looked at Zero, Kallen, and C. C., while saying, "Thank you, for saving me." The heroes nodded, before Shirley ran away.

Zero looked back at Kallen and said, "Your help was most appreciated. You did a great job."

Kallen replied, "Thank you, Zero. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

Zero said, "Not today. You should go home and get some rest."

Kallen responded, "Okay, then." She started walking away. Kallen (talking in her head): "I know Lelouch has to be Zero. There's no way a random college student, like Lelouch, could have hired as someone as mysterious and elusive as Zero. However, I don't think I can tell Zero that I know his secret identity. He might not trust me with that secret. He might want to kick me off the team."

The next day, Lelouch was taking another shower in the dorm's bathing area. At first, he was the only person there. However, he eventually heard the sound of someone showering a few feet away from him.

Kallen, who was trying hard to not directly look at Lelouch, said, "Zero."

Lelouch was caught off-guard. He said, "Huh?"

Kallen said, "Zero is a word that holds a lot of meaning for you."

Lelouch replied, "I find that ironic, because zero means nothing."

Kallen said, "Zero is my hero. I used to feel like I knew nothing about him. However, after closely working with him, I feel like I know him very well. In fact, I might even know the person behind the mask. Figuring out his identity doesn't change how I feel about him. He's still my hero."

Lelouch knew that Kallen was implying that she had figured out that he was Zero. Lelouch said, "Thank you, Kallen. You're one of my heroes."

Kallen smiled, while saying, "Really?"

Lelouch said, "Yes, but don't tell our teammates about my identity. I'm not ready to trust them with that information."

Kallen replied, "Okay, Lelouch."

Lelouch lightly blushed, while saying, "I apologize for the awkward predicaments that we keep getting ourselves into."

Kallen replied, "At first, I was uncomfortable and scared, just like how I felt awkward about learning your secret identity. However, now, I don't feel ashamed. I like knowing you, the real you."

Lelouch smiled, while saying, "Thank you, Kallen. I appreciate you talking to me about this, but I do have to question why you came to the showers to tell me that."

Kallen explained, "Actually, I wasn't planning on talking to you in the showers. I had just come by here to take a shower. Lelouch, you are aware that these are the female showers, right?"

Lelouch looked shocked, while saying, "What?!"

Kallen tried not to chuckle, while replying, "You better get out of here."

Lelouch said, "Good idea." Lelouch quickly put a towel on and made a run for it. Kallen heard the sounds of various women whistling at Lelouch on his way out.
