Kamen Rider Idetsu
Issue 3: The Frozen Mystic
A large rockwall collapsed around a lone figure as he walked through the clearing of a quarry, he breathed heavily as he walked towards a smoldering crater.
The rain hit his armored form as he clenched his fists, slowly approaching the crater. Maiti looked into the crater, yelling at it, "Is this what you wanted Takuma? Fighting until you're collapsed in a crater bleeding out?!"
A man with deep red eyes and a bloody face climbed out of the crater and glared at him, "All I wanted was power Kenta, you knew that and you never said a damn thing, Why now?"
Maiti scoffed at him and approached him, "You damn well know why I did, why? Why would you do that to your own flesh and blood? You're supposed to be a hero!"
The man wiped the blood off his face, revealing a fresh scar running down his face, "I wanted ultimate power, the power to be the strongest being on the planet and to secure my legacy. I did what I needed to in order to reach my goals, regardless of who or what stood in my way."
Maiti frowned from under his helmet as his fist began to glow with energy, "But a Kamen Rider should never do what you did, especially to his own children. As a father myself I can't allow you to walk away from here in one piece."
Takuma glared up at him, screaming as faint flames would start emitting from his body, "Do what you need to then coward!" He erupted with flames as he met Maiti's fist, a large explosion enveloping the two and the land around them.

Present Day
It was late in the evening in Tokyo as a young man with light blue hair began walking out of an alleyway. He walked slowly, his eyes almost not blinking as he approached the sound of an explosion, seemingly ignoring the people running past him.
He seemed to be on a mission as he pushed his long hair to the side, adjusting his blue leather jacket as he walked forward. To anyone passing him he'd seem to be an attractive young man, seemingly on a walk about the town.
His one blue eye and red eye staring forward as he finally arrived at his destination, numerous armored criminals attacking the area. As he arrived a rider in white armor with icicle daggers appeared beside him, greeting him with ease, "I see you took your time getting here, ready to get to work?"
The young man nodded, a small driver appearing on his waist, "I'm sorry brother, what are we dealing with?" The rider frowned in his helmet as he pointed at the armored criminals, "These terrorists stole some experimental suits from a tech company, they augment their strength but nothing near Kamen Rider levels."
The man nodded and reached into his shirt, pulling off a small light blue crystal and placing it into the driver, putting a hand to the side and flicking his wrist, "Then there's no reason we shouldn't finish this quickly, HENSHIN!"
Snowflakes enveloped him as his body began to freeze, enveloping him before the ice shattered,
"Chill! Harness the Element! The Frozen mystic sees all! HOMUI ICE SIDE!"
A rider with a silver undersuit was revealed, translucent white armor covered his body, a light blue trench coat was around his waist and crystals covered his knees and elbows that looked like ice.
His chest had a large snowflake on it and his head looked like an icicle with blue bug eyes. The young rider turned toward his brother, "Brother allow me to deal with this." The other rider nodded and motioned towards the criminals, "If you think you're ready for a solo fight then go right ahead." He nodded and approached the criminals who slowly backed away.
Anyone in the area could feel the cold coming from his body as he got closer, the ground freezing with each step as the criminals held up a large blaster at a group of civilians, "Back off ya weirdo, or I'll turn all these people into stains on the wall!"
The rider gave a small hmph noise as he pushed a button on the side of the belt, "It takes 3.5 seconds for you to be frozen solid by me, tell me, do you really think you can pull the trigger faster than me?"
The criminal said nothing as he began to pull the trigger. In one quick motion Homui extended his leg and his arm to the side, a large glacier appearing, "BLIZZARD BLITZ!"
The civilians braced themselves for an attack but nothing came as they opened up their eyes, an ice wall having appeared between them and the blast as they saw the criminals all frozen in blocks of ice.
They looked to see the young rider approach the criminals before turning towards the other one, "They've been defeated and the people are safe, how'd I do brother?"
He seemed to ignore the civilians who were trying to thank him before they finally turned towards the other rider, "Oh thank you Avalanche, we thought we were goners."
Avalanche chuckled, "It's no problem but really it was my little brother who saved the day, he's been training for a while to be a hero." The young rider turned from his handy work and nodded as the civilians looked at him with a strange look before walking away.
Avalanche sighed as he walked towards him, "Nice job handling the battle Toya, but your people skills still need work." He removed his crystal and frowned, "What did I do wrong?"
Avalanche shook his head and removed his own crystal from his belt, revealing a man who looked similar to him but with two blue eyes and white hair that was trim and neat, "Toya I know you use ice but that doesn't mean you have to be cold to the people you're saving. You ignored them trying to thank you."
Toya blinked, "Oh I didn't notice them saying anything." His brother frowned and approached him, clapping a hand on his best, "Well anyway I think you did pretty well with that, and I think you're truly ready to strike out on your own."
Toya raised an eyebrow at him, "You mean I don't need to train under you anymore?" His older brother nodded and smiled at him, "You've really grown into a fine rider Toya, so I think it's time that I move onto a different place to protect while you stay here and protect this area."
Toya wanted to protest, he didn't want to be a rider without his older brother, he feared what would happen without him. Seeing his smile though Toya eventually sighed and nodded, "You're right brother, It's time I did this on my own."
His brother smiled and pulled him into a hug, Toya let his older brother enjoy the moment, still unsure about the idea of doing all this on his own.

A final guitar riff as Idetsu, Dynamite and Homui are shown doing various things as Riders along with silhouetted forms for all three before a final shot of Idetsu jumping up and performing a solo rider kick. One final shot as the three Riders all ride within the city, ending the opening.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
The sounds of a fight could be heard as Idetsu charged at Maiti, trying to land a punch that was easily dodged by the older rider. Kei watched from the sidelines, taking notes as the two spared.
Maiti dodged another punch as Idetsu jumped back to avoid a counterattack, "Come now young Kohei, you must concentrate to draw more power from the Tornado System."
Idetsu grimaced under his helmet as he charged again, trying his best to try and draw power from the Tornado System. Maiti had told him that the more power he drew from it, the stronger he would get and more forms he would unlock. However he hadn't unlocked anything.
He wanted to be more versatile in a fight, he was all strength but sometimes that wasn't enough. He charged again, thinking of how he was too slow to hit Maiti before he finally neared him. Seeing Maiti about to dodge, he sidestepped, landing a punch against his torso before jumping back.
Maiti began to chuckle, seemingly not hurt in the slightest from the hit, "Excellent job Kohei, your speed improved." Idetsu nodded, "That's what I had in my mind when I was charging at you, I was too slow to really hit you and I needed more speed."
Maiti crossed his arms and nodded, "And the Tornado System reacted accordingly, keep trying to hone that speed and you may unlock a form focusing on it.
Of course the next step would be to combine your strength and speed but it's better for newer holders to take baby steps." Taking out the hero stone from his driver, Idetsu reverted to Kohei, "So I guess I am getting stronger even if I don't look it."
Maiti nodded as he removed his own hero disc and reverting to his civilian form, "I would wager that you're making better progress than I was when I was at the same point as you, do not push yourself Kohei, you're growing into a fine rider."
Kei approached the two with two water bottles and smiled at her father, "How about a lunch break Dad? Since you aren't around much." Kenta nodded before his phone began to ring, "Of course Kei, but just let me take this call real quick and we'll get whatever you want my treat."
Kei nodded as she turned to talk to Kohei, Kenta answering the calls as the smile faded away from his face. After about a minute he hung up and frowned, causing Kohei to look at him, "Uh is everything alright sir?"
Kenta shook his head, "I just got a call from the head of the World Rider Association, he needs my help with something immediately so I'm afraid lunch will have to wait, Kei I'm sorry to leave you two like this."
Kei frowned and shook her head, "It's fine Dad, if it's Uncle Sora calling then I'm sure it's important. We'll have lunch when you get back." Kenta smiled and nodded at her before putting a hand on Kohei's shoulder, "Kohei while I'm gone make sure to protect Tokyo for me, I'm not sure how long this will take."
With that he transformed in a flash of light and Maiti jumped from the roof they were on, leaving Kohei and Kei by themselves. Kohei sighed, "What was that about? I've never seen him so serious like that."
Kei shrugged, "Not 100% sure but if it was serious enough that he was getting a call from the head of the WRA then it must be pretty big." Kohei nodded and frowned, "Well then wanna go get lunch ourselves then?"
Kei nodded, "Sure but I get to pick the place." She turned to the door that led off the roof as Kohei followed her. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but he figured Maiti would tell him if it was that important.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It wasn't easy for him to sleep anymore, especially with Takeru having left him by himself. Still as he laid on the couch that he used as a bed he found himself slowly drifting off to sleep, the darkness taking hold of him.
As his dreams took hold of his mind he found himself as a five year old child again, turning to see a raging fire heading directly at him. He put his hands up to try and block it before the darkness took him again.
He remembered it, the heat of the flames that he was regularly tortured by as he tried to push it from his thoughts as he continued to dream. The dream shifted again, he was on a battlefield and he found himself in front of the same flame from his childhood, only it was dying, its flames extinguishing as he watched.
He turned and saw one lone figure, standing next to him and giving him a thumbs up, Idetsu, the rider he saw on TV. Before he could see anything else he jolted awake, his vision ending.
He sat up and frowned, this always happened whenever he dreamed of the future. He never saw enough and it always cost him.
The door in the room opened and in walked a woman who appeared to be only a year older than him with white hair similar to his brothers, "Hey Toya I heard a noise in here, everything ok?" Toya nodded slowly, "I'm fine Touka, I just had a vision, that's all."
Touka sighed, "Are they causing you to lose sleep again? Because if so I'll call Takeru and Tomoe and we'll ..." Toya shook his head, "It's nothing you need to worry about. Did you need anything else?"
She knew better than to argue with him about this, he always insisted on keeping his feelings on the inside. She nodded, "That rider you said was in your visions, I found out more info on him, Idetsu, Kohei Gushiken.
Apparently he's gaining a reputation around the city because his mentor is Maiti." Toya raised an eyebrow, "Maiti is mentoring him? Maybe that's why he's in my vision." Touka frowned, "Or maybe he's in your vision because you become friends with him and your mind is telling you to form a partnership with him."
Toya stared blankly at her for a moment before nodding, "You're right Touka, I should ask him to be friends so he can help me with my goal. The pupil of Maiti would be a strong ally for myself." Touka wanted to correct him but decided against it, at least he was willing to listen to her suggestion of making a friend.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It had been awhile since he'd taken a day off. Kohei hadn't really taken a break since he became Idetsu and he figured since it was a nice day and things had been quiet why not go to the arcade. He'd been dying to play the new Tekken 16 especially since it had Ex-Aid as a bonus character.
He arrived at the arcade and spent the next several hours playing a few of the games, enjoying himself. He especially enjoyed playing all the rider themed games, finding himself daydreaming about the day he might be in one of those games.
As he finished up one game he felt a tap on his shoulder, he turned around to see who was tapping. He wasn't expecting anyone, Kei had some errands to run and he didn't exactly have any other friends who'd be at an arcade.
He found himself face to face with a blue haired man his age, his blue and red eyes staring at him as Kohei raised an eyebrow, "Can I help you?" The man nodded and Kohei watched him try and force a smile, "Kohei Gushiken? My name is Toya Shindo, I wish to be your friend." Kohei nodded slowly for a moment, this was certainly new, no one ever just approached him asking to be friends like this.
Still Kohei could at least see he wasn't lying or anything, he was a little awkward but genuine. Kohei stuck his hand out and offered it to Toya, "I'm not sure why you found me but sure I'm always happy to make a new friend."
Toya looked at him confused for a moment, almost like he was processing what Kohei was doing before he reached out his hand as well, the wrong hand that is, resulting in an awkward handshake between the two. Toya let go of his hand rather quickly, "Now that we're friends Kohei Gushiken I have to ask, what do friends do?"
Kohei sweatdropped for a moment before sighing, "Uh they just hangout and stuff, you know spend time together. You can call me Kohei by the way, no need to say my last name too."
Toya nodded, "I see, well then Kohei let us hang out." For the next hour or so Kohei introduced Toya to games around the arcade, he found it weird that he didn't really know anything about video games, or life in general actually.
Toya certainly wasn't talkative, every time Kohei tried starting a conversation with him he got one word answers or the blue haired man didn't know how to answer the question. Here Kohei was thinking he was awkward, but Toya was worse than him.
Still he wasn't entirely sure if the anti-socialness was on purpose, Toya seemed to want to converse with him, he just didn't know what he was doing. They had finally left the arcade, going to get a burger at a fast food place across the street, Toya looking at his burger weirdly as Kohei took a bite of his, "I've never really had a burger before. You just pick it up and eat it?"
Kohei raised an eyebrow, "How come? Never wanted to try one?" Toya shook his head and took a bite, hiding his enjoyment of it, "No, my parents didn't allow me unhealthy food, they wanted me at peak health and when I got older I never went out of my way to go against what had been my established diet for so many years. All my siblings love junk food but I never saw the appeal. This is very good though."
Kohei nodded, so he had siblings, that was pretty much the only information he'd gotten out of him. Kohei put his burger down and stared at Toya who had devoured his burger, "I've been beating around the bush about this but, Toya why did you come seek me out to befriend me?"
Toya paused for a moment, Kohei could see in his eyes that his brain was going a mile a minute, searching for the answer to his question before finally speaking, "I have dreams of the future, of which I inherited from my mother, but unlike her I have no control. What I have learned though, is these dreams always help me towards what I want in life. A recurring dream has been you, Idetsu being there with me as I reach my ultimate life goal."
Kohei's eyes widened, so that's how he knew him, Toya knew he was Idetsu. Did that mean he was a Kamen Rider as well? Since only riders or those working for riders could have access to the database of rider's identities. Still if what Toya claimed was true, they were seemingly destined to team up.
Kohei frowned, "So what is your goal that only I can help you with?" Toya stared at him, no emotion in his eyes as he spoke, "I want to kill my father." Kohei nearly choked on his own saliva as he heard his response, "Why? I mean I know he wouldn't let you eat burgers as a kid but that's no reason to want to kill him."
Toya said nothing as he stood up, "I have to go for now, perhaps I can explain my reasoning another time. For now though farewell Kohei, I have enjoyed our time, hanging out."
With that he left a very confused Kohei behind, it wasn't every day he was asked to help kill someone's father. He wasn't sure how he wanted to proceed, still he knew one thing though, he was calling Kei to try and find more information on Toya.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
15 Years Ago
A six year old Toya fell to the ground in pain as two figures stood over him. His father, glaring at him with hatred grabbed him by the wrist and forced him up, "Get up Toya, we aren't finished with your training yet. Do you want to be a failure like your three siblings?"
He turned towards his mother, her white hair covering her piercing blue eyes, "Toya you are the product of our two families coming together as one, it is you who will inherit both of our magic to become the ultimate mystic rider. Now stand up and show us that you can do it or your father will beat it out of you more."
Toya got onto his feet, struggling to suppress the pain in his body as he stuck out his hand, snowflakes barely coming off of it as he put out his other hand, flames rising from it before giving out. His father crossed his arms and frowned, "You see you can do it, you just need to force yourself more. In a life and death situation you'll have access to more power, so allow me to help you."
Toya could barely react as his father stuck out his foot, kicking him in the stomach and sending him across the room. Toya landed with a thud and he turned to look at his parents, both showing no signs of stopping as he approached him. His mother frowned, "If you want this to stop Toya then you need to show us what you can do. Show us you aren't a failure like the other three."
Toya felt a burst of anger inside of him, no parents should be treating a child like they were. Even at only six years old he could recognize this. He stood up again, beginning to yell at his father who approached him, ice and fire coming out of his body, but not just those two, lightning and powerful gusts of wind as well.
His father took a step back upon seeing this before Toya collapsed again, all his energy being gone. His father scowled as he started to approach the near unconscious boy, "Get back up! You showed us what you're capable of so get back up!"
Before his father could reach him however he heard the door slide open and the sound of footsteps as he could hear his father step back slightly. As he regained his sense of surroundings he found himself in the lap of his older sister, "Touka?"
She smiled at him before he turned to see his older brother Takeru and other older sister Tomoe blocking their parents' path to him. Their mother frowned, "Step aside children, he isn't done training." Takeru glared at her, not backing down, "Yes he is, can't you see he can barely keep his eyes open. If you have any care at all for him you'll leave him alone."
The room was silent as their father stepped forward, ready to push the two out of the way to get to Toya, "Out of my way brats, he's going to train until he can master what he's capable of." Tomoe stood next to Takeru, not budging at all, "Father if you keep pushing him he'll die of exhaustion, please let him rest."
Before he could say anything their mother spoke up, "Alright Takuma that's enough, they're right if we push him too hard he'll just die and we won't get what we want." He turned to look at his wife, the children all braced themselves, worrying about his reaction.
However nothing came as he simply turned and exited the room, the sound of his stomping feet as he left. Their mother looked at her children and scoffed, "Your training will continue another time Toya, you aren't free of your obligations." She left the room leaving the siblings alone.
As Toya faded into unconsciousness he could hear his brother speaking to him, "Don't worry Toya you're safe with us, you always will be. You don't need them because you'll always have us."
Toya said nothing as he finally allowed himself to pass out, that was right, he didn't need anyone else because he had his siblings. They were all that mattered, the only ones who he could let his guard down for.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Present Day
Nobuhiko nodded to one of his workers as they began a test of some new equipment. A new upgrade for Dynamite was right on track and he watched as they worked on the new weapons, finding it satisfactory that it'll be the new firepower he needs.
He turned to see Shiyori enter the room, he looked at her annoyed, "Didn't I tell you not to interrupt me while I was working in here?" Shiyori glared at him, "I know what you said but I'm only in here because it's important."
Nobuhiko scowled at her, "What the hell is so important that you're barging in here?" Shiyori crossed her arms, "Someone's here to see you about working together, and trust me you'll want to hear them out." She walked out of the room before Nobuhiko could question what she was on about.
Deciding to see for himself he motioned for the workers to keep testing as he walked out of the room. As he went out ready to yell at whoever was here he found himself pausing as he found Maiti sitting on his couch simply waving at him, "Greetings young Nobuhiko, I was hoping you could assist me with something."
Nobuhiko quickly regained his composure, why the hell was the greatest rider to ever live in his base and sitting on his couch. He knew he was pretty great but he wasn't catching the attention of Maiti great.
He walked over and sat in a chair across from Maiti, trying to play it cool, "Well well it's not everyday Maiti walks in asking for my assistance, what could you possibly need Dynamite's assistance for?" Maiti looked at him, "I need your help with a task that requires someone I know can get the job done."
Nobuhiko crossed his arms and frowned, "Why not ask Gushiken? Every rider pretty much knows at this point he's your protege, why ask me a guy who hates him over him."
Maiti frowned under his helmet, Nobuhiko certainly was exactly how Kohei describes him to be, "Because I need someone with your more ruthless fighting style for this, and admittedly I don't think Kohei is experienced enough for this."
After thinking for a while Nobuhiko finally nodded, "Fine, if it's that important that you need my help then who am I to say no." Though he maintained the same frown he always had, Nobuhiko was secretly smiling on the inside. He was going to team up with Maiti, he had a chance to show his idol how strong he was.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Kohei sat on his couch as he waited for Kei to pull some info on Toya from the database, he wished he could do it himself but he still wasn't familiar with the technical side of being a rider, "I'm sorry I had to pull you from your errands to help me with this. I really wish I wasn't so bad with technology sometimes."
Kei waved him off as she continued to type on her laptop, "You don't need to apologize, it's what assistants are for, besides I was mostly done anyway and was gonna come meet you at the arcade."
Kohei nodded and sat up, "So find anything?" Kei's eyes widened as she nodded, "Yup and honestly considering what I just found it explains a lot. I had to hack into some of the restricted sections of the database but I can see why his profile is so restricted."
Kohei raised an eyebrow, "Is it really that serious? Is he dangerous or something?" Kei shook her head, "His name is Kamen Rider Homui but I'm not sure why he's approaching you."
Kohei sighed, "Did you find anything else on him?" Kei nodded, "He comes from the results of two long time mystic families merging together through an arranged marriage. He and Wizard are actually distant relatives too, which explains why he seems to have the capacity to use a bunch of different elements besides his father's fire and his mother's ice."
Kohei nodded, "So anything that might explain the weirdness though?" Kei frowned, "Well he's the son of Hellfire so that might explain it." Kohei looked at her confused, "Who's Hellfire?" Kei sighed, "Well you might know him better as Kamen Rider Inferno."
Kohei's eyes widened, "Wait Inferno? He was the second most popular rider in the world, he died 11 years ago didn't he?" Kei shook her head, "No that was a coverup. He was one of my father's best friends and I even called him Uncle Takuma when he came to visit."
Kohei frowned, "So why did they claim he died?" Kei put down the laptop, not wanting to read at the moment, "Because it eventually came out that he was abusing his children in order to make them info perfect riders, it got worse after his wife, a fellow rider died. Eventually my father found out and confronted him, they had a massive fight and he was defeated and imprisoned. In order to keep it a secret though he was rebranded as Hellfire and stripped of his rider title. After that my father learned just how power hungry he was and it really hurt him for a while."
Kohei put a hand on his chin, thinking, "He said he had a vision that I helped him reach his goal of killing his father, but how am I supposed to do that? I can't kill someone." Kei frowned, "I'm not sure, but I did find that Toya has a brother Takeru who's a rider that's about to move cities. He's still around though at his base if you want to try asking him for answers."
Kohei nodded and stood up, "I think it's the best option right now if I want to help Toya." Kei nodded in agreement and the two went out the door, intent on finding out more on the mystery of the Shindo family.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Deep within a secure prison, Hellfire stood in his cell, multiple chains fixed on his body as he could barely move. They constantly had to move him from cell to cell because they knew no cell could ever actually hold him. He always melted his chains and would try to escape.
But that damned Kenta would always stop him. One day he will kill him, and after that he'll kill that good for nothing son of his as well. The door opened and he smiled as Maiti and a rider he was unfamiliar with walked into the room. He laughed as Maiti approached him, "Well come to see an old friend then? Who's your friend? Another casualty in our endless battle?"
Before Maiti could speak the rider stepped forward, "The name's Dynamite! Not sure who the hell you are but you won't be doing anything on our watch. We're taking you to somewhere you can't escape from."
Maiti put an arm out in front of Dynamite to get him to stop talking, "It's been 11 years but we've finally built a stable prison to hold you Takuma, so we won't be having our battles anymore."
Hellfire laughed again, "It's Hellfire, the name Takuma no longer has meaning anymore. Just so you know though, the minute I get out of here I'm killing that runt first, no one mouths off to me and lives."
Dynamite pulled out his revolver and pointed it at Hellfire, "You can try but if you do escape then I'll take you down myself." Hellfire chuckled as guards arrived to get ready to move him, "Oh you're a cocky little shit, I'm going to have fun playing with you."
He continued to laugh as he was loaded onto a plane, no one realizing that his chains were almost melted as the plane took off. It was about half way into the fight, and Maiti seemed to be distracted by something. Did he finally break them. In a split second there were massive purple flames filling the plane as Dynamite and Maiti ran towards him.
He laughed as he forced the plane open, "It's been fun Kenta but it's my time to go." Before Maiti could make a move, Dynamite charged forward, tackling Hellfire out of the plane.
He was about to follow when one of the guards stopped him, "Sir the plane is going to go down, please help us." Maiti turned back and nodded at him, "Of course, I'm sure my young friend can hold off that vile villain for the time being."
Even he didn't have confidence in his words as he turned to help the people in the plane. Meanwhile Dynamite and Hellfire continued to fall , exchanging blows as they fell. However Dynamite wasn't doing any damage as Hellfire shrugged it off, laughing the whole time, "You're out of your element here kid, but at least you tried."
Channeling all of his flames into his fist, he dodged one of Dynamite's bullets and punched him directly in the stomach, sending him down to the ground in a massive crater. Nobuhiko could barely comprehend what had happened as he laid in a pool of his own blood, barely clinging to life as Hellfire ignored whether he was dead or not.
He smiled and looked towards the city, "Toya, I'm coming to kill you." With a massive burst of flames he flew off, heading towards his son.
As Nobuhiko struggled to remain conscious he finally heard Maiti arrive, he knew everything would be alright though because Maiti would track down Hellfire and kill that bastard. Those were his final thoughts though as he finally passed out from his injuries.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the headquarters of Avalanche, Takeru Shindo. Kohei just wasn't sure if he'd even be there as the place seemed almost empty and it was more than likely he had completed his planned move.
He and Kei walked up to the entrance and rang the bell of the simple house like headquarters, waiting for a moment before the door opened and a white haired woman who seemed to be about five years older than them appeared, "Can I help you?"
Kohei tried giving her a friendly smile, "Uh hi I'm looking for Avalanche, I needed to speak with him about something." She frowned at him and shook her head, "I'm sorry but Avalanche is busy with preparing for his move out of the city, if you need a Kamen Rider for something I suggest another in the area."
Kohei stopped her from closing the door as he charged forward, "Wait please it's about his brother Toya!" She stopped for a moment before turning around, concern written on her face, "What about Toya?"
Kohei sighed as she opened the door to let the two in, "I'm a rider as well, Idetsu, and you see Toya approached me the other day. He asked me to help him achieve his goal of killing his own father and said he had a dream and I was in it, and well I wanted to know more about him since he's claiming the two of us are going to fight him."
The woman frowned, "I told Takeru it was a bad idea to leave Toya alone when he still wasn't ready but he kept insisting he'd be fine with Touka watching him. I'm sorry if he's caused you any trouble."
She bowed to them before Kei spoke up, "You must be Takeru's twin sister, I always remembered your father telling me that he had four children including a set of twins but I never met any of you, after hearing what he did I kind of gathered why."
She nodded, "I'm Tomoe, that must make you Kei Genda, Maiti's daughter. It's nice to meet you after all the years of our father telling us that you're how a real daughter should act."
Kei said nothing as Kohei got between the two, "Kohei Gushiken, look I really want to help your brother but I don't want to murder your father. So I was hoping you could maybe tell me more about him so I can figure out how to help him."
She nodded and motioned for them to follow her, "Of course, let me take you to Takeru since both of us can help you. Also Kei I'm sorry if I sounded a bit insulting, I didn't mean to make you feel bad."
Kei shook her head as they entered the main living room, "No it's fine, honestly I never knew what had truly happened till I turned 18 and my Dad started being more honest with me. If I'd known what had happened I'd have tried to befriend you four."
They arrived and found who they assumed to be Takeru, putting away some papers as Tomoe walked over to him, "Takeru you have visitors, they're here to talk to you about Toya."
Takeru looked over at them and frowned, "Please tell me he didn't do anything to upset these two? I'm very sorry if my little brother wronged you." Kohei put up his arms and started waving him off, trying to stop him from apologizing, "No he didn't do anything wrong, he actually approached me about being friends."
Takeru smiled, "Oh well that's nice, how did you two meet?" Kohei frowned, "That's why I'm here. He approached me asking to be friends because he saw me in a dream fighting your crazy dad."
Takeru sighed and pinched his fingers on his nose, "Of course he did, so I'm guessing you're a rider then if he did that." Tomoe interrupted Kohei before he could answer, "His name is Idetsu, he wanted to know more about Toya so he can best help him." Takeru nodded slowly, "Idetsu? As in Maiti's protege? Well I guess that explains why Toya might've thought you were special. Look I'm happy to explain things to you but I'm just happy Toya is trying to make a friend despite his logic in it."
He gestured for the two of them to sit down as Kohei looked at him, "I want to be able to help Toya, I know he said he wants to kill your dad but if I can I want to convince him that there's a different way to go about it."
Takeru frowned and rubbed his chin, "So I suppose I should start at why Toya would want to kill our father. You see it all started with my parents marriage, our father was Kamen Rider Inferno, coming from a line of mystics who had a powerful connection to fire, with some other elements thrown in. What people don't realize is that our mother was Kamen Rider Seerice not only coming from a powerful family of ice mystics but she also had a powerful ability to see the future. The two had an arranged marriage in hopes of combining both families' abilities to create the strongest elemental magic user possible."
Kohei nodded, "Yeah we found that much out on the database." Takeru continued on, "What people don't tell you is that the first three children were failures. I could only control ice, Tomoe didn't inherit any powers at all, and Touka inherited very limited ice magic, enough to make a few ice cubes but that's it. Toya however, Toya was born being able to harness not just fire and ice, but other elements from family members who had married into the two families. Of course my parents were happy about that, but unfortunately they began to push Toya too hard, and that push eventually turned into abusing him. We tried to protect him as much as we could, but well, we failed and because of that he's withdrawn and doesn't really know how to socialize. He confides in the three of us but even we can barely understand what he's thinking sometimes."
Tomoe frowned, "We were his older siblings...but we couldn't protect him and well...because of that he experienced more pain than any child should." Kei crossed her arms and frowned, "How did it eventually stop? Because your father got caught eventually by my Dad."
Takeru sat down on the couch in front of them, still having a hand on his chin, "Our mother died 11 years ago, and after that my father snapped further. He stopped caring how much he hurt any of us or Toya. Eventually your father came to visit us one day and saw a burn mark on Toya's shoulder. It only took him about two minutes of asking Toya about it before Toya told him everything. Toya in that moment gathered all his courage and cried in your Dad's arms. After that everything went down and our father vowed revenge on Toya as what he perceived as a betrayal by his own son. Toya wants to kill our father because he knows if he ever escapes from imprisonment he will come here to kill him."
Kohei felt his hand curl into a fist as he stared at the two siblings, seemingly holding back tears, "So why are you leaving him then? If you're so worried about him and that your father might try to kill him, why leave him?"
Takeru dried his forming tears and sighed, "Because Toya has relied on his siblings all his life, and I want him to grow into the hero he was meant to be. He can't do that with me here holding his hand constantly. It pains both of us to have to do this but it's necessary because we believe Toya can become what our parents thought he could. However it's not going to be through their methods, it's got to be how Toya chooses to do it, and maybe that's how you can help him. Help him down the right path Kohei, please. Toya needs a friend and I'm asking you to please be that friend for him."
Kohei looked at Takeru, seeing the pleading in his eyes and nodded, "I'll guide him the best I can, you have my word. I'll officially offer him a partnership!" Riders could officially partner up instead of just a simple teamup, being a team and pooling the resources of the two riders together. It was reminiscent of the Double Riders back in the 1970's and every rider usually had at least one partnership during their times together.
Takeru smiled at him and extended his hand towards Kohei, the two shaking hands, "Kohei I'll trust you with my brother." Kohei nodded at him, he would do his best to help Toya the best he could, and hopefully eventually convince him to not kill his own father.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Toya's headquarters wasn't quite as large as Takeru's. Sure it had that same house or mansion feel that he had, but it felt smaller, less decorated and had less people running around it.
Toya seemed to be waiting for him, simply sitting at a table as Kohei entered. Toya glanced at him but didn't get up, "Kohei, I didn't expect to see you again after I told you about my dream." Kohei frowned, "I'll be honest, you shocked me when you told me, but I've decided to be friends so hopefully you reach your dream in a different way."
Toya raised an eyebrow, "And how do you hope to do that?" Kohei smiled at him, "I'm here to offer you true friendship, not just helping you kill your dad, because I can't do that, it's now how I am as a person. But you and I, we're rookies who can help each other grow, and just because I won't help kill him doesn't mean I can't help you one day ensure your dad gets the justice he deserves."
Toya sat for a moment, pondering his words before he stood up, approaching Kohei, "I can't accept that there's any other way of dealing with my father. I've told myself for years that he deserves to die for his sins, but I accept your offer of friendship though. You and I can become something better by working together, I know at least that much from my dreams."
He gave Kohei the faintest smile before extending his hand out to Kohei, the two shaking hands as a sign of trust. The moment wouldn't last though as Touka ran into the room, catching her breath, "There's a monster downtown, it's rampaging and it's already taken down a few riders."
Kohei and Toya looked at each other and nodded, both running out the door and towards the monster.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Kohei and Toya arrived on his motorcycle, getting off of it to find a seven foot tall, humanoid reindeer rampaging around. The two nodded at each other and their drivers appeared around their waists, both taking out their respective gimmicks.
Kohei placed his into his driver as Toya did something similar, placing his wrist up as Kohei reached towards the button on his driver, both yelling, "HENSHIN" Kohei was enveloped in blue light and Toya was encased in ice as both drivers sprang to life,
"Idetsu SMASH!" "HOMUI ICE SIDE!"
Idetsu and Homui emerged from their transformations earning the monsters attention as Idetsu punched his fists together, "We'll defeat you with a smile of justice!"
Homui looked at him for a second confused, "What's that?" Idetsu cocked his head, confused as well, "A catchphrase? Pretty much every rider has one. Do you not have one?" Homui thought for a moment before nodding, "I guess I do. It'll take 2.5 seconds to freeze you with justice."
Idetsu sighed as Homui looked at him for approval, "Keep working on it." Homui nodded and walked towards the monster, "The only thing that matters is the fight anyway. I'll freeze him, you punch him once he's frozen."
Idetsu nodded and watched as Homui walked towards the monster, the monster beginning to charge at him as Homui unleashed a massive blast of ice at it. Before he could see the results, Idetsu charged forward preparing a massive punch. As he went to punch it he felt nothing but solid flesh as the reindeer monster stood there unaffected by the ice, only getting hit a bit from his punch.
The reindeer's leg came up, kicking him in the stomach and sending him flying back into a wall. Homui looked back at Idetsu before the reindeer appeared in front of him, punching him as Homui could barely defend himself.
Homui tried sending out a larger blast of ice, the reindeer ignoring it as it hit Homui again, sending him flying into Idetsu. The two riders got up as Idetsu caught his breath, "It's not affected by your ice, you need to use a different element." Homui shook his head as he began to charge up another blast, "No." He ran up again, extending his arm and left leg, "BLIZZARD BLITZ''
The large attack did nothing as the reindeer ignored it, sending Homui flying back and into Idetsu once more. Idetsu got up again and let out a groan of annoyance, "This isn't getting us anywhere, you need to switch up elements." Homui let out a sigh, "I can't." Idetsu put a hand on his shoulder, "Why not?"
"That thing is going to cause more destruction and possibly kill us if you don't, and don't tell me you can't because I know you can" Homui said nothing for a moment before finally speaking, "I can't because I'm afraid." Idetsu looked at him confused, "Afraid of what? Toya I heard how powerful you are, you can do this."
Homui shook his head, "I'm afraid of being like my father. All he wanted was more and more power and I'm afraid if I use other elements then I'll end up just like him. If I use his power then I'm no better than he is." Idetsu said nothing as he punched Homui, sending him past the reindeer who had seemed to have turned its attention from the two.
Idetsu walked over to Homui and picked him up, placing a hand on his shoulder, "Toya I want you to listen to me and listen well. You are not your father, you are not your mother, heck you aren't even your siblings. You are Toya Shindo, Kamen Rider Homui. That power is yours and if you let your dad ruin your life even while he's in prison then it'll never truly be your own. Forget about that and focus on what matters here, protecting the people and the city, protecting those you care about. Become the rider you want Toya, not the one your dad wants."
Homui stayed silent for a moment before he actually let out a tiny laugh, putting a hand on Idetsu's shoulder, "Kohei, I knew I was right to befriend you. I can't change the past, but I can make the future and to do that I need to make this power my own. I need to be stronger with the power that jerk gave me!"
He reached into the side of his driver, revealing a red crystal as he took his ice crystal out of his driver and placed the red crystal in. He put his hand forward and flicked his wrist, quickly becoming enveloped in flames,
"Burn! Command the Element! The Scalding Mystic incinerates All! HOMUI FLAME SIDE!"
Homui's Flame Side still had the same silver undersuit but now had dark red translucent armor on his body with red crystal armor on his knees and elbows. Around his waist was a red and gold trench coat that seemed to be burned slightly and a gold fireball was on his chest, with his head having a crystalized fire on it.
Homui formed a fireball in his hand and pointed it at the monster, "It's only going to take me 3.5 seconds to burn you, so let's get to it!" Idetsu appeared beside him and gave him a thumbs up, "Better." Homui nodded at him and the two charged the monster once again as Homui hit him with a fiery punch, sending it backwards.
Idetsu didn't let it rest though, shooting forward and delivering an uppercut to it, sending it flying into the air. Homui began to charge up an attack as he motioned to Idetsu, "Let's not give it time to recover."
Idetsu nodded in agreement as he began to channel energy into his fist, Homui gathering fire into his fist as well. The two jumped into the air and both unleashed their attacks on said monster, "RIDER SMASH!" "FLAMING BLITZ!"
The monster was directly hit by the two attacks, resulting in it crying out in pain as it fell to the ground defeated. The two landed and Idetsu turned to Homui, "So how does it feel to make it your own?"
Homui shrugged, "I think I'm only going to use this in desperation, it still brings back too many bad memories." Idetsu nodded in understanding as the two went to subdue the monster, however they wouldn't get near it as a large purple fireball landed in front of them, sending them back several feet and incinerating the reindeer monster.
As the two got back up they heard a deep chuckle, "Toya, my flames look good on you." Homui could barely get out any words as Idetsu only heard one, "F-F-Father?" Idetsu could see it clearer now, a man with a large scar running down his neck and deep red eyes complete with messy facial from having not been trimmed in a long time and long red hair.
Idetsu got into a fighting stance, "You're Hellfire, but how did you escape the prison they were keeping you in?" Hellfire laughed, "Oh it was easy, I just bided my time and eventually Maiti and this cocky little shit named Dynamite came to move me to a new prison. I escaped and killed Dynamite and decided to come here next. I probably have limited time though since Maiti is on his way here."
There was no way, there was no way he could kill Nobuhiko. Besides, why was Nobuhiko even with Maiti? Feeling rage built inside of him, Idetsu charged forward, trying to punch Hellfire but he didn't get very far, his hand being caught before he received a massive blow to the face, sending him into the wall and unconscious.
Homui looked to see the injured Kohei fall to the ground and heard Hellfire laugh again, "Now that your friend is out of the way it's just you and me boy." Homui said nothing as he charged forward, the two's flames mixing as they exchanged blows.
Homui wasn't doing horribly in his fight, he was just up against a stronger opponent as he was sent flying backwards. He needed to change up his style though as he quickly changed to his Ice Side, using all of his energy to try and freeze his father.
It didn't last long however as Hellfire burst through the ice, delivering a kick to the weakened Homui and knocking him unconscious as well. Hellfire began to approach the downed Toya, intent on finally killing him before he heard something land behind him. He growled, "Here to ruin my fun Kenta?"
Maiti got into a fighting pose as Hellfire turned towards him, "No Takuma, I just thought you could have some fun with someone more in your league." Hellfire stood still for a moment before turning around, "Nah, if I fight you I'll lose, but don't worry I'll be back Kenta, after all your time's almost up anyway."
In a massive pillar of purple flames Hellfire disappeared, leaving Maiti alone. As much as he wanted to go after him, he knew that he couldn't, his protege and Toya needed medical attention.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Kohei woke up with a start, he seemed to be in a hospital bed as he slowly looked around, finding Kenta Genda watching over him. Kenta smiled at him, "Kohei my boy, I'm glad to see you awake."
Kohei winced in pain, "Hellfire?" Kenta frowned, "Escaped the minute I got there, I at least saved you and young Toya though." Kohei nodded in satisfaction before frowning, "He mentioned Nobuhiko, is he ok? Why was he even with you?"
Kenta sighed at his question, "Your friend is fine, injured but he'll live. He was with me because I needed someone to help me with the transfer and I thought if push comes to shove I needed someone with a more ruthless fighting style, hence asking him. Being honest I didn't want to risk you getting hurt in fear you weren't ready to deal with Hellfire yet. I also didn't want you exposed to that incident and the reveal that there are some riders that turn to evil. I'm sorry Kohei, I really am."
Kohei sat up and gave him a weak smile, "It's alright I understand, I still learned about what happened but it was in my own way. Speaking of, is Toya around?" Kenta nodded, "He's in the next room, I'll leave you to talk and I'll be by your apartment later."
Kohei said goodbye to him as he got up from his hospital bed, weakly walking over to the next room to find Toya laying in bed. He must've been visited by his siblings at least as he saw some of his favorite food left for him along with get well soon cards.
Toya nodded at him as Kohei sat down in the chair next to the bed, "He defeated us, we would've died if it wasn't for Maiti showing up." Kohei frowned, "But we didn't die, which means we can continue to get stronger." A small smile appeared on Toya's face, "I've decided, I'm going to defeat him using my own powers, the abilities I have, and my potential as a rider. They're my own, not my parents. You and I, we'll get stronger together."
Kohei nodded in agreement, the two of them had a long road to go, but they'd be traveling down it together as friends.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Hellfire sat in an abandoned building, suppressing his flames as he seethed in anger. He was so close to completing his vengeance but he was stopped by that damned Kenta. As he sat there he heard a small noise behind him, "What do you want?"
Two hooded figures appeared behind him, one waved, "Greetings mighty Hellfire, I am Decay and my compatriot here is Darkness. We're working towards the goal of destroying this society and wondered if you wanted to join our shared goal"
Hellfire turned to look at them, hate in his eyes, "If it means I'll be able to kill my good for nothing son and that so called rider of justice Maiti then sure, I'll do whatever you want me to do. The world can go to hell for all I care." Decay began to cackle at his answer, now there was one more ally in their crusade to burn everything to the ground.
