"Did you know" she laughed as quietly as possible "Shishiron starts purring when she feels Shinno is close by"

Or

A polyamorus party of 4 idiots try to raise a baby.

Lamy yawned as she slowly rocked back and forth the small bundle of white sheets in her arms.

It was 4 am.

Too damn early if you were to ask her, specially for someone who thought it was a good idea to finish a whole bottle of sake by herself last night.

But here she was. Half sleep, hangover but awake, kind of.

She had woken up to go to the bathroom when one of Botan companions, a white cat, had come to her just before the baby started crying.

That's right, a baby.

A baby they had found as an orphan child in one of their quests.

Of course them being NePoLaBo instead of choosing the rational option of leaving the little creature on a orphanage they took the child with them.

An active party that was taking high rank and risk quests.

...With a baby.

Sigh.

Said baby took bed on a small basket of wicker they had purchased a while ago while adventuring in town far away from their guild, usually they would use it to carry herbs and fruit as long as Botan companions didn't took it as a bed.

And now it was used as a bed for the baby.

They had gotten some wool blankets too and put them inside, making sure their child would be comfortable during the travels.

At this moment however the baby was nestled comfortably against Lamy's chest, yawning sleepily and starting to fall asleep.

The elf had taken sit on the couch that laid besides their window in the inn, looking outside at the starry sky while lulling the child on her arms, her night gown offering her some protection against the slightly chilli night.

Lamy couldn't help but look at the baby, taking in her features as she peacefully started to fall asleep.

The baby was small and they were pretty sure she wasn't even six months old, her skin was fairly clear and the most important feature it was that she was a Siren.

A siren that came with all the package, wings (although undeveloped at the moment), feathers... or the begining of some and talons instead of feet.

The not feathers were of a lime green with some pink and purple accents, which reminded them of those of parrots or Quetzales.

Maybe she was a Quetzal.

Lamy mused a bit on this before hearing some rustling behind her, carefully she looked back just to see Botan roll over and wrap whoever was at her side into some sleeping cuddle. Warm.

Meanwhile Lamy got an unusual turn to calm her little girl down in the early hours of the morning.

She didn't felt jelaous tho, their cuddling and sleeping sessions had been all over the play since they got the small bird and she preferred to let them enjoy their time even if she was left out of it (not on purpose of course)

Usually Botan or Polka were the ones to attend her, surprisingly, or maybe not since they also were the ones that tended to insist on having night guards.

Most of the time they were deemed unnecessary as the group would be able to reach town before nightfall and so get to sleep in a bed (or the floor, some beds were incredibly small and pretty much impossible to accommodate two bodies, let alone four)

Still Botan or Polka would sometimes stay up just to stare at the window or the door like vigilantes.

It was a bit annoying because it meant they had less time to sleep together but they couldn't help it.

Nene had tried to explain it with something about a sixth sense that all animal people had, Lamy had insisted it was just an habit they would grow out of once all four settled down for good (not that it was happening anytime soon, she loved their adventures but sometimes she would like to have a full night of sleep with her three lovers not two)

Lamy shook her head, she was drifting.

The elf took her attention back to the baby, it had fallen asleep but her new mother didn't felt like putting her down onto her bed yet, deciding instead to relish in this small moment of comfort between only the two of them.

She must have fall asleep at some point because the next thing she remembers was someone trying to take her baby.

That woke her up with a jump, clutching the baby tight against her while her fuzzy mind tried to comprehend what was happening.

A soothing warm voice and a pair of hands on her shoulders were enough to snap her out of it.

Her yellow eyes met green ones, then a soft smile.

Ah, Nenechi.

She smiled at her and got a smile back before the blonde girl leaned in closer.

"How's our baby?" She whispered.

Lamy didn't answer verbally, she just showed her their sleeping baby who was currently sucking her thumb.

"Awww, our little Shinno is so cute"

The elf scoffed, still feeling the hangover and tiredness, of course Shinno was cute, babies were cute. Especially their little bird.

She heard a snicker that could only come out from a certain person.

When Lamy looked back up to Nene she saw a glint that she would recognize anywhere even if the grin plastered on her face wouldn't give it away.

Oh no. Nene had woken up feeling mischievous.

Murmuring she got closer to her, until she was close enough to brush her ear.

It send unconscious shivers down her spine.

"Did you know" she laughed as quietly as possible "Shishiron starts purring when she feels Shinno is close by"

Lamy blinked, she hasn't noticed actually.

Lamy's curiousness about it must have shown in her face because Nene showed her fangs on a playful smirk and extended her arms in a silent request.

The elf gave her their baby without a second thought, only being careful on not waking her up.

Shinno moved a bit making both froze, the bundle just accommodating herself before going back to a deep slumber.

Both let out a sigh they didn't know they were holding, they really loved their baby girl but they really didn't want to calm her down at 5 am shall she start crying, the other two would wake up without a doubt.

After flashing her her white fangs Nene went towards the sleeping duo that were cuddling (So that's who Botan had trapped in her arms!) before carefully lowering Shinno between them.

They almost immediately reacted through their sleep.

Both moved to accommodate their new visitant and just as Nene has said a faint purr started to fill the room.

Lamy barely was able to stifle a giggle at it, this was just so cute, Nene outright let a laugh and it was obvious she wasn't expecting this to wake Shinno up.

Well, shit.

Shinno opened her pink eyes, looking around as if she was confused why she was between two of her mother's when she went to sleep in the arms of another one, a bit confused she crunched her face in a grimace and sniffled.

"No, no" Nene muttered before picking her up again, she didn't want her to start crying.

Botan kept on purring and Polka got closer again to cuddle once her mind registered Shinno wasn't between them and she wouldn't accidentally crush her.

The alien girl called Nene had sang her a barely audible lullaby in her native language to the baby and it was obviously working, at least the part of calming her down because Shinno had decided it was a good moment to be active and started trying to play with Nene's hair.

Faintly Nene could remember Omarun mentioning having to play with Shinno until early morning because she sometimes wouldn't want to go to bed anytime soon.

Botan had laughed at that, both confirming it and mentioning she must had taken that from Polka who only groaned in response.

Ah, so this is what they meant, guess they weren't going to sleep anytime soon.

Nene took the baby, shapeshifting one of her hands into clawless best paws so the baby would at with it before sitting in the wooden floor of the room.

Lamy enjoyed the view of both of them laughing before deciding to join them at the floor, resting against Nene's side whole looking at their baby.

As the sun keep going up the three kept on playing as silently as they could.

They didn't fell asleep again until the sun was already high up in the sky.

Look, Idk how this came to be but it's here anyways.

I had such a hard time deciding which race give to the baby, In the end I went with a Siren because of their melodic voice.

To clarify, the despiction here of a Siren is that from the greek mythology, a Bird Women with a voice that can hypnotize.

Also, I know the consensus is to make Nene Human but since her profile says "A girl that came from another world" I'm making her a shapeshifting alien, humanoid form is the default but she can shapeshift to other lives beings.

I might write sporadically about this specific AU as this is a prompt I wanna keep exploring.
