~~Hello readers, I'm back with a new chapter.

I don't own anything from Yu-gi-oh GX or Pokemon.

Only my original characters belong to me.~~

It was now mid afternoon in the Pokemon world.

The second round of the Pokemon contest in Nuvema Town was about to begin.

My older sister Melody and I were waiting patiently by the stage along with our competitors.

Our mother Kara was seated in the bleachers along with hundreds of other audience members.

"Good luck out there!" Kara hollered to us.

Melody and I waved at her in return.

Flareon stood patiently beside me.

Marian walked up to the podium wearing a delighted expression on her face.

"Good afternoon everyone, welcome back to the Nuvema Town Pokemon contest!" she hollered with excitement.

The large crowd cheered wildly in response.

"This round will begin the series of one on one Pokemon battles. The winning four contestants will move onto the semi finals," she explained.

Marian then pointed to the first set of names at the top of her list.

"The first match will be... Mira versus Jessilina!" she called out.

Both girls stood at each end of the arena.

"I'm not going to let this girl stand in my way of defeating Sioku," Mira thought as she glared daggers at Jessilina.

Jessilina only stared at Mira dumbfounded

Mira proudly held up a Pokeball and called out. "Garbodar, I choose you!"

Garbodar took its place on the battle field.

Jessilina also held up a Pokeball and called out. "All right Yanmega, you're up!"

Yanmega lifted itself high into the air.

I decided to watch the battle out of curiosity.

"You ladies have five minutes on the clock. Battle... begin!" Marian hollered.

"Garbodar, use gunk shot," Mira started.

The poison type Pokemon Garbodar shot a blob of sludge at Yanmega.

"Blow it away with silver wind," Jessilina countered.

The bug and flying type Pokemon Yanmega rapidly flapped its wings in order to create a powerful gust of wind.

Garbodar was instantly knocked backward.

The sludge disappeared as well.

Mira's points dropped much to her dismay.

"I'll make you pay for that!" Mira shouted in frustration.

Jessilina only glared at Mira in response.

"That girl is a total poor sport," I said to Melody as I pointed at Mira.

"Yeah she is," Melody agreed.

"Garbodar, use toxic!" Mira desperately called out.

Garbodar released a toxic fume that poisoned Yanmega.

Yanmega was now inflicted with the poison effect.

Jessilina's points dropped a bit.

"Yanmega, use sonic boom," Jessilina countered.

Yanmega released a high pitched sound wave that caused Garbodar to stumble backward.

Mira's points dropped once again.

"Garbodar, use smoke screen," Mira instructed.

Garbodar released a wave of smoke in Yanmega's direction.

"Yanmega, use air slash!" Jessilina called out.

The smoke was too thick for Yanmega to see through.

Instead of attacking, Yanmega slowly started to descend toward the ground.

Yanmega had also been weakened by the poison infliction caused by Garbodar.

Jessilina's points dropped once again.

"Now Garbodar, use sludge bomb," Mira commanded proudly.

Garbodar slammed Yanmega with a powerful sludge bomb attack.

Yanmega crashed to the ground with a hard thud.

"Yanmega! No!" Jesilina cried.

Yanmega didn't move from it's spot.

A buzzer went off as Jessilina's points immediately dropped down to zero.

"Yanmega is unable to battle! The person who will move onto the semi finals is... Mira!" cheered Marian.

The crowd cheered wildly in response.

"I told you I would win," Mira proudly bragged before she walked away.

Instead of responding, Jessilina was focused on tending to her injured Pokemon.

A joyful grin spread across Mira's face as she skipped over to the stage.

She looked at me and boasted. "I am the first person to move on to the semi finals."

"Good for you Mira," I replied plainly.

"We don't care, go brag about your victory somewher else. Nobody wants to hear it," said Melody.

I couldn't help but laugh at that.

Mira glared at us before she walked away.

Marian pointed to the list on her computer screen and called out. "The next two contestants to battle it out will bee... Melody and Iris!"

The crowd cheered as both competitors made their way toward the arena.

"Good luck Melody!" I hollered.

Melody gave a thumbs up in return.

The two girls stood on opposite sides of the battle field.

Melody held up a Pokeball and called out. "Glaceon, it's your time to shine!"

The ice type Pokemon Glaceon emerged from its Pokeball and stood on the field in front of Melody.

Iris held up a Pokeball and said proudly. "All right Axew, come on out!"

The dragon type Pokemon Axew popped out of its Pokeball and stood on the field in front of Iris.

Iris is a young girl with ruby eyes and long deep purple hair, tied back with yellow bangles in thick ponytails.

She had on pink and white yellow-strapped shoes, white leggings with yellow colored ends at the legs, a pink puffy miniskirt with a slit on the left side and a big ribbon over it, and a cream-colored long-sleeved top with a pink collar and cuffs.

Melody looked down at Axew and complemented. "Iris, that little dragon Pokemon of yours is really cute."

Iris grinned at Melody and replied. "Thank you very much, I've been raising Axew since it hatched from an egg. Axew is my best friend."

"You ladies have five minutes on the clock. Battle... begin!" hollered Marian.

Iris decided to make the first move and commanded. "Axew, use dragon rage."

Axew charged toward Glaceon before it released a ball of energy from its mouth.

Glaceon didn't seem fazed and stood in one spot.

"Fight back by using ice beam," Melody countered.

Glaceon shot a beam of ice in Axew's direction.

The ice froze Axew in place.

"Nice shot Glaceon," Melody praised.

Iris' points began to decrease.

"Axew!" Use your tusks to break free!" Iris called out.

The dragon used its tusks to smash through Glaceon's ice.

The ice around Axew shattered into tiny shards.

"Great job Axew," praised Iris.

"Now use dragon claw," she commanded.

Axew jumped into the air and slashed Glaceon with its claws.

Glaceon stumbled backward in response.

Melody's points also began to decrease.

"Are you okay Glaceon?" said Melody wearing a concerned expression.

Glaceon shook off in response.

"Use iron tail," Melody commanded.

Glaceon struck Axew with a powerful iron tail which sent the dragon Pokemon flying across the arena.

"Nice move Glaceon," Melody praised.

Axew landed on the ground with a hard thud.

Iris' points dropped once again.

"Oh no... Axew! Are you all right?" shouted Iris with fear.

Axew slowly stood up before it rejoined Glaceon.

"Awesome, that's great Axew! Now use bite," said Iris.

Axew charged at Glaceon and then landed a direct hit on the ice type Pokemon.

Glaceon stumbled backward in pain.

"Good job Axew," praised Iris.

Melody's points dropped again.

"Use blizzard," Melody commanded.

Glaceon unleashed a massive amount of snow in Axew's direction.

Axew tried to move out of the way, but Glaceon's blizzard was too powerful.

The snow trapped Axew in one spot.

"Axew... no!" cried Iris.

"Let's wrap this up with shadow ball," said Melody.

Glaceon struck Axew with a blast of dark energy.

Axew slumped to the ground in exhaustion.

A buzzer went off as Iris' points dropped down to zero.

"Axew is unable to battle! The winner is... Melody!" Marian hollered in excitement.

The spectators cheered wildly in response.

Iris returned Axew to its Pokeball and said gently. "Thank you for working hard out there. Please take a good rest.

Melody returned Glaceon to its Pokeball and said happily. "Great job Glaceon, thank you for working hard out there."

"Iris, thank you for the battle. I look forward to our next match," Melody added graciously.

Iris grinned at her and replied. "You're welcome, I had a lot of fun. Good luck in the semi finals, I'll see you later."

Melody and Iris waved at each other before they parted ways.

"Congratulations Melody," I said as she approached me.

"Thank you Sioku," Melody replied.

I paused as we overheard a conversation between Iris and another competitor named Georgia.

Georgia is a girl with pink hair and teal eyes.

She wore a long dark teal dress underneath a teal blouse with yellow buttons, dark teal socks, teal boots with black heals, a yellow cap and gloves, and a small black collar around her neck.

Georgia grinned at Iris and said in a taunting manner. "Hey Iris, it's a shame that you lost. I had a feeling that a so-called dragon master like you wouldn't make it passed this round."

Iris let out a growl of frustration and shouted back. "Excuse me, I will be a dragon master someday! Stop acting like a little kid! Losing this contest only gives me a reason to work harder!"

"I'll see you later, Dragon Master Iris," Georgia said before she walked away.

Iris only shook her head.

I couldn't help but laugh under my breath.

"I wish Dr. Crowler could hear their rivalry," I thought.

Marian pointed to the list displayed on her computer screen and called out. "The next two coordinators to battle it out will be... Bianka and Georgia!"

The two girls made their way over to the arena.

Bianka sent out Minccino, and Georgia chose to use Beartic.

I felt a sense of relief knowing that my battle was going to be the last one of this round.

This new information gave me the perfect opportunity to talk to Dr. Crowler.

Instead of watching the battle, I decided to walk away from all the chaos for a few minutes.

Fortunately, Flareon and I found a secluded area near route one.

I pulled out my phone and decided to call Dr. Crowler.

The phone rang a few times before Dr. Crowler picked up the other end.

"Hello Sioku, how are you today?" Dr. Crowler greeted.

I began to perk up at the gentle sound of his voice.

Just hearing him speak to me brought a joyful smile to my face.

"hello Dr. Crowler, I'm doing just fine. How are you and all of my friends?" I replied happily.

"We're doing all right, I hope you're having fun at the contest. How is it going?" Dr. Crowler continued.

"My sister and I have made it to the semi final round. My battle is up next," I answered slightly nervous.

Dr. Crowler sensed the anxiety in my voice and spoke calmly to me. "Don't worry Sioku, I'm sure you'll do just fine. Your friends and I believe in you."

"Thank you Dr. Crowler," I replied softly.

I paused abruptly as I heard Marian's hollering in the distance.

"I'm so sorry Dr. Crowler, but I have to go now. My battle is coming up very soon," I said suddenly.

"Good luck Sioku," Dr. Crowler replied before he hung up the phone.

Flareon and I quickly ran back toward the stage.

Melody intercepted me by the stage and said with concern. "Sioku, your battle is about to begin. Where were you?"

"I was talking to Dr. Crowler on the phone," I answered.

"Good luck out there," Melody said before she walked away.

Marian pointed to the list on her computer screen one last time and called out. "The last two coordinators to face off will be... Sioku and Zoey!"

The audience cheered as the girl named Zoey and I made our way to the dueling arena.

We stood at opposite ends of the field.

Flareon sat down behind me.

I smiled at Zoey as I introduced myself. "Hello Zoey, my name is Sioku. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Zoey smiled back and replied. "I'm glad to meet you as well Sioku. Let's have a great battle."

Zoey had short orange-red hair and brownish-red eyes.

She wore red socks, brown boots with gray brown laces, pale blue jeans, a dark magenta shirt under a light orange vest, a small necklace around her neck, black sunglasses above her hair, and a pink Poketch on her left wrist.

I confidently held up a Pokeball and called out. "Empoleon, I choose you!"

The water and steel type penguin Pokemon Empoleon emerged from its Pokeball before it stood on the field in front of me.

"Okay Glameow, come on out!" called Zoey as she held up a Pokeball.

The normal type cat Pokemon Glameow hopped down onto the field wearing a determined expression.

"You ladies have five minutes on the clock. Battle... begin!" Marian called out.

"Glameow, use shock wave," Zoey commanded.

My heart began to race with fear as soon as I heard her call out that move.

"Electric type moves are super effective against my Empoleon," I thought anxiously.

Glameow aimed a powerful shock wave at Empoleon.

Empoleon Stumbled backward as it was shocked violently.

Zoey's move caused my points to decrease.

My eyes widened with horror as I stared down at my injured Pokemon.

"Oh no... Empoleon! Are you all right?" I said frantically.

Empoleon stared at me as it slowly rose to its feet.

The songs from Rocky Horror played in my head as I thought of my next strategy.

I started to feel hopeful again.

"That's great Empoleon! Now use avalanche," I said proudly.

Empoleon unleashed a massive avalanche of snow toward Glameow.

"Glameow... look out!" called Zoey.

Unfortunately, Glameow couldn't move out of the way in time.

The snow froze Glameow in place.

"Now use drill peck," I instructed.

Empoleon repeatedly pecked Glameow with its beak.

Zoey's points also decreased.

"Glameow, are you okay?" said Zoey with concern.

Glameow dug through the snow with her claws in order to free herself.

"Nice job Glameow," Zoey praised.

"Now use shadow claw," she added.

Glameow slashed Empoleon with her claws.

However, Empoleon didn't seem fazed at all.

"Empoleon, use bubble beam," I commanded.

Empoleon shot a stream of bubbles at Glameow.

"dodge that and use shock wave," Zoey countered.

"Oh no... not again," I groaned internally.

Glameow unleashed another violent shock wave at Empoleon.

Empoleon fell to the ground as it was shocked once again.

My points dropped even further.

"This isn't looking good for me. What should I do?" I thought desperately.

I stared down at the floor and sighed hopelessly.

"I might as well just give up on this contest. My Empoleon can't win in the condition it's in," I thought sadly.

Just as I was about to give up,Empoleon shook off the electricity and stood up.

I grinned with joy as I praised. "That's great Empoleon, you are such a strong Pokemon."

Empoleon nodded in response.

"Now use hydro pump," I commanded.

Empoleon unleashed a massive wave of water at Glameow.

Glameow was trapped under the water until it receeded.

Zoey's points began to drop as well.

"Glameow, let's finish this battle with shock wave," Zoey commanded.

The cat Pokemon directed another shock wave attack in Empoleon's direction.

I started to tremble with fear as I imagined Empoleon getting Knocked out of the battle for good.

"I really wish you were here Dr. Crowler," I thought.

Dr. Crowler's gentle voice echoed in my head causing me to perk up with another idea.

As Glameow was preparing her final attack, I looked at my Pokemon and called out. "Empoleon, use avalanche on yourself!"

"What? Why would you want to do that?" Zoey inquired.

"Oh you'll see," I answered confidently.

Empoleon covered itself in an avalanche of thick snow.

The audience watched in awe as Empoleon became completely invisible.

Glameow blasted her shock wave at Empoleon, but the damage was reduced greatly.

Zoey gasped in surprise as she stared down at the snow covered penguin.

"Now come out and use drill peck," I added.

Empoleon fiercely popped out of the snow and slammed Glameow with a powerful drill peck attack.

The impact knocked Glameow unconscious.

"Nice shot Empoleon," I praised.

A buzzer went off as Zoey's points dropped all the way down to zero.

Marian pointed down at the unconscious Glameow and called out. "Glameow is unable to continue! Sioku will move on to the semi final round!"

The audience cheered wildly in response.

"Thank you for the spiritual support Dr. Crowler," I thought with a relieved smile.

Zoey returned Glameow to her Pokeball and said smoothly. "Thanks Glameow, you worked really hard out there."

I smiled at Zoey and said. "Thank you for the match Zoey. I had a lot of fun battling with you."

"Same here Sioku, you and your Pokemon are a real team. I was impressed with your battle strategies," she replied.

I waved at Zoey before I happily walked back to the stage with Flareon by my side.

"Hey little sis, congratulations on your victory. I am so glad that we're going to the semi final round together," said Melody as I approached her.

"Thank you, so am I. I just hope that one of us can kick Mira's annoying butt out of this contest," I replied.

Melody laughed out loud in agreement with my second statement.

Our conversation was soon interrupted when I saw Mira sauntering toward us with a proud grin on her face.

Melody and I glared Daggers at her as she stopped directly in front of us.

"Oh no... look what the cat dragged in," Melody commented.

I couldn't help but chuckle to myself at that.

"Wow Sioku, you managed to make it to the semi final round. Good for you," she said in a taunting manner.

"Let's be serious Mira, do you have anything better to do with your life?" I replied in frustration.

Mira only laughed carelessly before she answered. "No Sioku, I sure don't."

"Quit bothering us and get a hobby!" Melody shouted in Mira's face.

"Whatever," Mira replied with a huff.

She then marched away in the other direction.

"Good riddance," I thought with a relieved sigh.

Marian pointed to her computer and said to the audience. "I will now determine the last two matchups for the semi final round."

She then pressed the shuffling button.

There were only four coordinators left to compete in the Pokemon contest now.

Our names were displayed in two pairs on the screen.

My opponent was Georgia, and Melody's opponent was Mira.

I turned to Melody and whispered in her ear. "I really do feel bad for you sis. Mira is the biggest poor sport I know."

"I'll make sure to kick her butt out there," Melody whispered back.

"This concludes the second round of the Pokemon contest. I'll see you all shortly," said Marian before she stepped off the stage.

As soon as we were dismissed, Melody and I rejoined Kara near a vending booth.

Flareon stood patiently between Melody and me.

"Congratulations girls," Kara said warmly.

"Thank you Mother," Melody and I replied in Unison.

Kara pointed to a building near the reception area and said to us. "There is a Pokemon center here in case you two need to heal your injured Pokemon."

"Thanks Mother, I should go get Empoleon treated right away. Those electric attacks from Glameow really took the energy out of him," I replied.

"Sioku, the third round is going to start soon. Please meet me back by the stage as soon as you're finished," Melody added.

I nodded before I started walking toward the Pokemon center.

Flareon ran after me while wagging her tail.

On my way to the Pokemon center, I pulled out my phone.

I then sent a text message to Dr. Crowler: Hello, Melody and I have made it to the semi final round.

A few minutes later, Dr. Crowler replied: That's great news, keep up the good work.

I smiled brightly as I responded: Thank you for looking out for me. Hopefully I'll see you soon.

I saw Iris standing by the entrance to the Pokemon center and waved at her.

"Hi Sioku," she greeted with a smile.

"Hello Iris, I'm glad to see you again. You battled really well at the contest," I replied.

"Thanks a lot, congratulations on making it to the semi final round. I wish you the best of luck," Iris added before she entered the building.

I entered the Pokemon center after her and then hurried over to the front desk.

"Good afternoon Sioku," greeted Nurse Joy.

"Hello Nurse Joy," I replied.

"How may I help you today?" the nurse continued.

"My Empoleon needs to be restored," I answered before I placed my Pokeball into the tray on her desk.

"I would be glad to do that for you. Your Pokemon will be fully healed in no time at all," said Nurse Joy.

"Thank you very much," I replied.

I sat down in one of the chairs and waited patiently for Empoleon to be fully healed.

A few minutes later, Nurse Joy cald out. "Sioku, your Pokemon is ready to be picked up."

I stood up and hurried over to the desk.

"Your Empoleon is back in perfect health," she said happily.

"Thanks again," I replied while grabbing my Pokeball of the tray.

Without further delay, I turned around and quickly walked out the door.

Then I headed back to the stage.

Melody met me by the stage and said. "Hey sis, you made it back here just in time. The semi final round hasn't started yet."

"That's a relief," I replied.

I noticed that Georgia and Mira were near us.

A few minutes later, Marian took her spot at the podium.

"Hello everyone, welcome back to the Pokemon contest! The semi final round is about to begin!" she cheered.

The spectators cheered in response.

She then pressed the shuffling button on her computer.

"The first two coordinators to face off will be... Melody and Mira!" Marian hollered.

The audience cheered wildly in response.

"I'll be right back sis," Melody said before she walked away.

"Good luck out there," I replied.

Both girls took their places on each end of the battle field.

Mira held up a Pokeball and called out. "Skuntank, I choose you!"

The poison and dark type skunk Pokemon Skuntank popped out and took its place on the field in front of Mira.

Melody also held up a Pokeball and called out. "Leafeon, it's your time to shine!"

The grass type Pokemon Leafeon emerged from her Pokeball and then stood on the field in front of Melody.

"Choosing Leafeon to battle my Skuntank was a poor decision on your part," Mira commented.

"Keep your negative comments to yourself. Nobody wants to hear them," Melody snapped back.

"You ladies have five minutes on the clock. Battle... begin!" Marian hollered.

"Let's begin by using flame thrower," said Mira.

Skuntank unleashed a jet of flames in Leafeon's direction.

"Dodge it with magical leaf," Melody countered.

Leafeon slashed at the flames with her razer sharp leaves.

"Use night slash," Mira commanded.

Skuntank slashed at Leafeon with its claws.

Leafeon stumbled backward in pain.

Melody's points began to decrease.

"Fight back with leaf storm," Melody instructed.

Razer sharp leaves began to swirl rapidly around Skuntank.

"Dodge those now!" Mira called desperately.

Skuntank tried to move out of the way, but it wasn't fast enough to avoid the leaves.

Mira's points also decreased.

"Use sludge bomb," Mira commanded.

Skuntank dropped a blob of sludge onto Leafeon.

Leafeon shook the sludge from her fur.

Melody's points dropped even further.

"Use leaf blade," Melody countered.

Leafeon charged at Skuntank before she struk her opponent with a sharpened leaf.

Skuntank crashed to the ground with a thud.

Mira's points also dropped again.

"Get up Skuntank!" Mira shouted.

Skuntank slowly rose to its feet.

"Strike back with iron tail," she ordered.

Skuntank charged at Leafeon before it slammed her with a powerful iron tail.

Leafeon also crashed to the ground.

Melody's points decreased even further.

"Are you okay Leafeon?" asked Melody with concern.

Leafeon rose to her feet and shook off.

"That's great! Now use giga drain," she said happily.

Leafeon bit down on Skuntank and drained some of its energy.

"That won't save you," Mira said in a taunting voice toward Melody.

"How so?" Melody replied.

"Shake it off Skuntank," Mira commanded.

Skuntank roughly shook Leafeon before it sent her flying across the battle field.

Leafeon quickly stood up and ran back toward Skuntank.

"Use leaf blade," Melody instructed.

The grass type Pokemon struck Skuntank with another sharpened leaf.

Skuntank only stood in one spot.

"Use flame thrower," Mira countered.

Skuntank shot a second jet of fire at Leafeon.

"Look out Leafeon!" shouted Melody.

Unfortunately, Leafeon didn't have enough energy to move out of the way in time.

The flames hit Leafeon directly.

Leafeon crashed to the ground with a hard thud.

"Oh no... Leafeon!" Melody cried.

Leafeon didn't move from her spot on the floor.

A buzzer went off as Melody's points dropped all the way down to zero.

"Leafeon is unable to battle! The winner of this round is Mira!" hollered Marian.

The audience cheered as they watched Mira walk away from the battle field with a proud grin on her face.

Melody returned Leafeon to her Pokeball and said gently. "Thank you Leafeon, you put up a good fight out there. Please take a good rest."

She then walked back to the stage.

A frown of disappointment was present on my older sister's face as she approached me.

Flareon wagged her tail wildly as she stared at Melody.

"Hi Flareon," said Melody as she rubbed the Pokemon's head.

"Hi Melody," I simply greeted.

"Hey Sioku, I want you to try to beat Mira in the next round. That poor sport really needs to be taught a lesson," Melody replied.

"I know sis, losing to her must have been rough on you. I promise to battle my hardest against her if I move on to the final round," I assured.

"I'm going to join Mom at the bleachers. We'll be cheering for you," Melody said before she walked away.

I let out an anxious sigh as I watched my sister leave.

Knowing that Melody was no longer in the competition caused my anxiety to rise inside me.

I felt alone and vulnerable without her by my side.

To make matters worse, Mira turned to me with a stern look on her face.

"You better win your next battle and move on to the final round," she demanded.

"I'm not in this contest for you," I snapped back.

Marian pointed to her computer screen and called out. "The last two coordinators to battle it out in this round will be... Sioku and Georgia!"

The audience cheered as they watched Georgia and me walk over to the arena.

Georgia and I stood at opposite ends of the battle field.

I pointed to the Pokemon standing behind me and called out. "Flareon, I choose you!"

Flareon happily rushed onto the field while wagging her tail.

Georgia held up a Pokeball and called out. "Vanilluxe, come on out!"

The ice type Pokemon Vanilluxe emerged from its Pokeball and floated on the field in front of Georgia.

"You ladies have five minutes on the clock. Battle... begin!" hollered Marian.

"Let's start by using flare blitz," I instructed.

Flareon aimed a giant ball of fire at Vanilluxe.

The fireball struck Vaniluxe directly.

"Nice shot Flareon," I praised.

The impact caused Vanilluxe to fall to the ground.

Georgia's points decreased by a huge amount.

"Are you okay Vanilluxe?" asked Georgia.

The ice type Pokemon slowly rose back into the air.

"Use icy wind," Georgia commanded.

Vanilluxe unleashed a powerful wave of ice that covered Flareon.

The ice froze Flareon in place.

My Points also decreased.

Flareon tried moving but to no avail.

I stared down at Flareon with a worried expression.

Seeing my Pokemon look so defenseless caused me to start losing hope.

"What would Dr. Crowler do in this situation?" I thought.

I thought for a moment before I smiled at Flareon.

"You can melt the ice off of your fur by heating up your body," I said to her.

Flareon stood still and ignited a flame inside her body which caused the ice to melt.

She then shook the water from her fur.

"Good work Flareon," I praised.

Georgia stared wide eyed at my unfrozen Pokemon.

"Now use psychic to lift yourself into the air and float above Vanilluxe," I instructed.

Flareon slowly levitated directly above Vanilluxe's head.

"What's going on?" asked Georgia in surprise.

I purposely didn't answer her question.

Instead, I grinned confidently at Flareon.

Georgia let out a growl of frustration and shouted at me. "I've had enough of this!"

She then turned to Vanilluxe and commanded. "Use icy wind a second time."

Vanilluxe unleashed another wave of ice up toward Flareon.

"Fight back with thunderbolt," I countered.

Flareon released a powerful thunderbolt from the end of her tail that hit Vanilluxe directly.

The ice quickly dissipated as well.

Vanilluxe fell to the ground a second time.

Georgia's points dropped even further.

"Get up Vanilluxe," she said frantically.

Vanilluxe tried to rise up again, but it had been inflicted by the paralysis effect.

"Use ice beam," Georgia commanded.

Vanilluxe released a beam of thick ice from its mouth which froze the battle field.

"Use iron tail to smash the ice," I instructed.

Flareon slammed her tail down on the icy battle field.

The ice shattered into tiny shards and scattered around the arena.

I decided to take advantage of Vanilluxe's paralysis.

"Let's finish this battle with flame thrower," I said confidently.

Flareon aimed a jet of fire directly at Vanilluxe.

The paralysis effect prevented Vanilluxe from moving out of the way.

Vanilluxe crashed to the ground with a hard thud.

"Vanilluxe is unable to battle! The winner of this match is Sioku!" hollered Marian.

The audience cheered wildly in response.

I hugged Flareon tightly and praised with excitement. "Nice work Flareon, you did a good job out there."

Georgia returned Vanilluxe to its Pokeball and said. "You worked really hard out there. Take a good rest."

I then turned to Georgia and said graciously. "Thank you for the match."

"You only won because I had a type disadvantage," Georgia replied bluntly.

Without another word, Georgia and I parted ways.

On my way back to the stage, Melody intercepted me by a brick pillar.

"Congratulations on your victory Sioku," she said joyfully.

I let out a sigh of exhaustion and replied. "Thank you sis, but this means that I'll have to battle Mira in the final round."

"You'll be fine Sioku," Melody assured.

"I sure hope so," I said quietly.

I silently joined Mira by the stage.

"This match concludes the semi final round! The final round is coming up soon. I'll see you then," said Marian before she stepped away from the podium.

Kara met Melody and me at a picnic table.

I sat down across from Melody and Kara.

"I am very proud of you Sioku. You are doing really well in this contest," Kara started.

"Thank you Mother, but I'm feeling a bit nervous about the final round. I have to fight against Mira," I replied with disappointment.

"Don't let that girl get the best of you," Kara advised.

"Mira is just a bully," Melody added.

I let out a heavy sigh and turned away.

A long period of silence passed between the four of us.

We listened to the constant chattering as people went about their business.
