Alex, Kara, and little Lena were at Alex's shared apartment playing while Astra was with Ethan and Sam. The nightmares are continuing to plague the poor man's mind during both night and day.
Recently, Ethan was getting things in order for Cat for the gala next week. Everything was fine until he had a full panic attack, saying he can't wash the blood away from his hands. Cat had to call Sam since Kara was with Clark on the farm.
The way Ethan was panicking broke Cat's heart to see him like this. Sam arrived and was able to calm him down.
He needs therapy... They both do.
"Look Kawa, it's 'ou!" Lena called out, showing Kara her drawing of her. Kara smiled warmly at it.
"I love it, baby girl. Did you make this?" She asked and Lena nodded with a smile. "Well, it's a work of beautiful art! We'll hang it up on the fridge when we get home. How does that sound?"
"Ha-ho!"
Alex put on cartoons for Lena while Kara and herself were in the kitchen making lunch. In the middle of making the food Kara had been lost in thought that she handed Alex the mustard and not the ketchup as she requested.
"Kara?" Alex called out to her. The blonde didn't seen to respond. "There's a circus coming to town."
Alex knew that when Kara was lost in thought, that she could say anything and the younger Danvers-Grant wouldn't respond correctly.
Unless you say the right things.
"yeah, I'll put it in the bag."
Alex couldn't help but chuckle at her little sister's careless awareness to her surroundings. funny really. This next one will get her.
"I heard Lena has a boyfriend. How you feel about that?" Alex asked and her answer came in the form of two glowing white eyes and a phrase.
"I'll will melt him into goop! Who stole her heart?!" Kara exclaimed with fury written all over her face.
You do not want to be on the receiving end of a mother wolf's anger. Not a one.
"That's not funny. That's a nightmare." Kara said to her.
Lena didn't seem to notice as she is emersed in SpongeBob SquarePants. The giggles she gave off was the most adorable thing to hear. What a sweet baby.
Suddenly her thoughts turned towards Ethan. It's only been a short time since the landing and she is madly in love with him and vice versa. His nightmares are more or less his memories of the war, the program, and loss.
"You're worried about him and I understand that, but Kara..." Kara now looking at Alex with undivided attention. "He's known nothing else but war and this could all scare him if not he's already afraid of every new thing. It was the same when you came to live with me before Mama."
Alex explained while letting her sister to digest the bit.
"I don't know how to help him. I don't know what I do if I lose him too. He's helped me through a bunch since he got here and I'm just useless." Kara admitted to her.
"The only thing that you can do is just be there for him. That's all anyone can do and it's no different what you do with Lena." Alex stated.
There was a when rhythmic knock at the door. Alex went to go open the door knowing who is behind it. Ethan and Astra walked in and the first thing Kara noticed was how drained he seems. More so than usual.
He walked over to little Lena with a brown bag and presented a teddy bear wearing a Supergirl costume. Lena was estatic to have the bear that looks like Kara.
Ethan patted her head before making his way to Kara, Alex, and Astra.
He hugged Kara tightly as if afraid of losing her. Kara was surprised by this action but it wasn't unwelcome either.
"Ethan, how are you feeling?" She asked her lover.
"Just tired. hungry too." The Spartan said but he continued talking. " Johnson, Kelly, Sam, Kat, Carter, Emile, Jorge, and Jun. They were some of the people I had left, and now I don't have a way to let the ones alive to know I'm okay. I don't even know it's my mothers would recognize me."
Astra and Alex were in the living room with little Lena but both were listening. Kara just smiled at Ethan, reassuring him that it's okay to let the past come to light, to move past some of the trauma.
"I love you, Kara. I would like to find them, my mothers. I've seen that they've been looking for me for years."
