Before the show of shows begins, it took me way too long to do an update like this, mostly because-I don't even have an excuse. It's been 10 Months, 10 ENTIRE MONHTS with no update no nothing. I was going to make an update-chapter or whatever, but I really didn't feel like doing it I'll be honest. So uh, yeah this after 10 months for some reason. It ain't even that good I'll be honest, not worth the wait. But I came to far to stop, so I'll finish it out because why not.
Listen, this may, or may not be a worthy episode, and I might've uploaded it a bit too soon. But It's been 10 months, I think I've with-held this from you chosen three long enough. So, if you see this omega big mistake that I need to delete, you have permission to smack the hell out of me, and then tell me.
They were brought up the 10-Story Building by the Elevator, waiting to see what this Challenge has in store for them.
"Fair warning, this may get a bit violent." Chris announced, watching as the Final 3 all took a good gander at this entire room. Liz noticed another elevator on the other side of the room, to which she'd point to.
"Another one?"
"Not yet it'll open after you do this part, and subsequent parts. Let me explain."
The 16th Challenge.
On the ceiling is a maze, a maze not for them, but for a yellow ball. It seems that ball's destination is a slot in the middle of said maze, but there is quite a few walls blocking it, and some colored passages as-well that aren't correctly placed.
Not only that, but the floor is slick too, making it a bit harder to get your feet set.
"These challenges will not only have you work with each other, but against as well." Chris begun to explain, "That red handle? It controls the handle that pushes the ball along the Maze. If that handle's pressure is removed, it'll retract quickly, so you better be fast if you remove your hand."
"See those small passages that are colored blue? Obviously, the blue one controls that. You have to spin it yourself, so you have to position it correctly, as none of them will line up with the previous path."
"Finally, that green handle opens the wall that is blocking some of those passages, holding it opens, letting go makes it drop. Simple, correct?" He finished. They all nodded, while Liz also looked over to Carol.
"Good, now for the kicker." He chuckled, "That ball will drop out of the slot, and onto the ground. This is where you split up, as the person who grabs the ball and heads into the elevator with it first, gets a point. Understood?"
"Got it." Laurie nodded, having determination written on her face.
"Carol.." Liz whispered, tapping her arm. Carol looked over at her,
"...I know..." Carol replied, also whispering. "Alright." Carol spoke up first, "Who is going to take what?" She began to mess around with the red lever, watching the handle move back and forth slightly.
"Hmm.." Liz reached up to grab the green handle, but quickly realized. "Uhg." She'd stand on her tiptoes, but even then, it was barely out of reach. "Damn it." She jumped to grab the handle, opening one of the walls just to test it. Her feet didn't even touch the floor at this point, so she let go, letting herself drop back down. "I have to take green; I won't be able to do anything else."
"Then I guess I have the blue." Laurie simply said, going over to turn it once.
This maze can't even be called a maze, It's literally a straight line. There is 3 required pulls/turns for each, so it's pretty straightforward.
"Are we all ready?" Carol would ask, grabbing hold of the first red handle.
"Yes." Laurie replied, grabbing the blue one.
Meanwhile, Liz is preparing herself to jump and grab the green. "Kind of." She stated, bending her legs slightly. "Let's just see how this goes."
"Alrighty, here we go." Carol simply pulled on the handle, watching the ball move along the linear track.
"I think we're going to be switching colors at some points." Liz stated, noticing that there will be a red one right after she moves this wall down. While she said that, Laurie had already turned the blue passage enough so that the ball went through.
"That's fine, hopefully you're able to turn the handle if you are ever forced to." Laurie said, not being able to see Liz's eye twitch as she's faced away from her.
"Yeah. Hopefully." Liz replied with a bit of edge, hopping and grabbing the green handle to drag the wall down. As the ball continued, it would run into the 2nd blue passage. It was at this point, where movements were going to have to be made.
"Laurie, think you have enough lee-way to move past Liz and get that 2nd red handle?" Carol asked, as Laurie would nod.
"I can try." She'd walk over past Liz, who would watch the chain on Carol's arm slowly raise her other arm up and up, until it eventually started to pull her slightly. "Got it." Laurie was barely able to reach and grab the handle. She tried to pull it down, but realized it was stuck, as Carol was still holding hers. "I'm ready, It'll only move when you let go."
"'Kay." Carol would release hers, as Laurie jolted slightly at the sudden weight shift. Thankfully she didn't lose her grip.
"Okay, um..." Laurie glanced at the next few handles,
"I've got the next one." Carol announced, with Liz walking past Laurie and over to the green one. Carol turned the blue handle around so that the passage was correct, as Liz jumped and grabbed the green handle as she did that. After that it was just one final revolution with this, with Carol on Red, and Laurie taking the blue. Though, this did mean it was on the final step before hell broke loose.
As Liz jumped up to grab the green handle for the final time on this first maze, she sighed slightly.
Liz's Confessional.
"I didn't come this far to lose." She stated with determination, stretching out her arms slightly, "I don't care if I'm thrown around like a ragdoll most of the time, I will not lose this challenge. I know the `Villain's` of Total Drama don't have the best track record when it comes to the Final 3. But not me, unlike the rest of them, I actually have a loyal ally at my side.." Liz proceeded to close her hand into a fist, "And I'll do anything to win that Million."
While Laurie rotated the blue passage so that the ball would be able to pass through, as soon as the ball squeaked by the green wall, Liz dropped down early. She had wanted to get a head start on getting to the ball, but without even looking, Laurie grabbed a bit of the chain, and yanked back, jerking Liz backwards onto the ground. Next to try was Carol, as she was immune to Laurie's pull thanks to Liz being in the way.
As the ball fell, Carol was able to reach out an arm to try and catch it, but it would barely tap her fingertips as it rolls off to the side. "Aw!"
Laurie thought of pushing Liz for more distance, but she realized that she'd pretty much have to drag her to catch up...so that's what she did.
As Liz scrambled to her feet, Laurie would rush past her, attempting to get to the ball before Carol did.
In her mind, Liz has already made up the fact that she's sacrificing her body to win, so instead chasing after them both, she'd grab onto Laurie's chain with both hands, crouching and attempting to make herself as heavy as possible for her.
Though strong, Laurie did feel the pull, enough to force her to stop and look at what Liz is doing. That allowed Carol to grab the ball uninterrupted, as it hadn't bounced too far away from where it would've fallen originally.
Laurie would groan, taking the chain in both of her hands, and yanking forward, once again throwing Liz around like a ragdoll. She'd then quickly turn her attention back to Carol, who attempted to discreetly go back over to the elevator but was found out almost instantly.
"Uhh…" Carol sort of froze when Laurie looked at her and wasn't able to say anything as Laurie proceeded to tackle her to the floor. She was primarily focused on winning, so she didn't exactly have time to talk. Laurie gripped Carol's wrist, trying to grab the ball with her other hand.
Carol, though, would bring her left leg up, barely wrapping it around Laurie's arm, almost in an arm-bar-esk manner. Thankfully Laurie's arm wasn't in a position to where it'd be in risk of hyper-extension. Carol propped herself up, mostly sitting now on Laurie's arm.
Laurie still had an arm free, so she took her right just to grab Carol's waist, stopping her from actually getting up.
Carol looked back around at Liz, wondering what she was doing during this. Liz was just watching on the sidelines, not sure if she should actually jump in or not, as she's not exactly a fighter.
"Heads up!" Carol exclaimed, tossing the ball at Liz, who would successfully catch it.
She was slightly confused at Carol giving her the ball but did realize that they are working together. She'd turn to go into the elevator which wasn't far away but figured out quickly that the chain has already reached Its peak, and Liz isn't able to actually get into it.
"Oh? You can't reach it?" Carol asked, noticing Liz stop. Then she saw how much the chain had been used, and she sighed a bit. "I see."
"Thing is, if we don't go anywhere, she doesn't." Laurie stated, still having a hold on Carol.
"That is true." She'd admit, trying to figure out how to move over without letting Laurie up. She isn't exactly in the best place, as though she has Laurie's arm, she has her back. While thinking, Carol slightly put off a bit of pressure on her arm, which allowed her to slip out. Due to that, she instantly pushed Carol away.
"Wah!"
"Ah shi-" Liz instantly knew what was about to happen once she saw Laurie grab the chain. "Carol!" She'd yell, and at the same time chuck the ball over Laurie's head. Laurie would still yank Liz's chain, causing her to tumble to the ground once more.
Carol caught the ball again, and would stare down Laurie, who was basically blocking the door.
"...I knew that you two would work together, but I did not think it'd be this fast, and this obvious." Laurie stated, frankly a bit annoyed at being forced to run around to stop both of them, but she knew what she was going to have to do coming into the challenge, so she isn't blaming herself, or anyone else.
"Hehe-" Carol gave an embarrassed chuckle, "Sorry about this." She'd apologize, but quickly focus back on the task at hand. She needed to remind herself that this is for a chance at a million, and she can't just let this slip through her fingers...kind of literally too.
Carol began to slowly walk towards Laurie, who herself was unmoving from her position in-front of Liz, and the Elevator. Carol thought about throwing it again but feared that she either (A. Wouldn't throw it high enough. Or B. Throw it terribly.)
With Laurie almost tunnel-visioned on Carol, she didn't even hear Liz running up to leap onto her back. Now Laurie is strong, but she wasn't prepared in the slightest to react to the jolt she had, and promptly fell over with Liz latching onto her back, barely catching herself before she smacked her face onto the floor.
"Go Carol!" Liz exclaimed, trying to pin Laurie's arm down, but it was made apparent fast that she was nowhere near as strong as Laurie was.
Carol didn't have to be told twice, and swiftly made her way past them both, and into the elevator, finally securing a point for herself.
"Nice one-" Liz would remark and was promptly pushed off of Laurie's back with a single arm from her.
"Well, played." Laurie sighed as she picked herself off of the ground, holding out a hand for Liz. Liz looked at it for a moment, eventually deciding to take it, kind of surprised that she even wanted to be sportsman-like after what they just did. "I just guess I have to work harder."
"...I hope you don't." Liz mumbled quietly, rotating her shoulder briefly. "I can already see my shoulder being dislocated at this point."
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." Laurie said simply.
Liz almost recoiled in shock at the basic threat, coming from Laurie of all people no-less. She quickly swallowed the lump in her throat, "Okay…." Was what she was able to mutter, remembering that Laurie isn't really one to mess with.
Laurie looked away with a sigh and was able to tell that her little threat got to Liz as she stepped into the elevator, while the doors would close after them, momentarily going down to the next level. But it was just a bluff, she'd never try to intentionally hurt someone like that.
The Intercom soon turned on- "Looks like Carol wins the 1st point." Chris announced, "Make sure to hold onto that by the way." He suggested, talking about the ball Carol was holding. "You'll be fighting for that the entire way down this building, as we're onto the 2nd Area…or Floor 9, whichever you decide."
[2nd Challenge.]
In this room was three large disks, large enough for them to walk on top of. Their challenge here is to each take a path, one on the right, one on the left, and one going straight through the middle. It's a test of balance, more like the balance of the team.
"For this one, you'll have to make sure you all balance each other out on these disks. They're pretty free moving, so even just a tiny bit more weight on one side will cause it to tilt. Your goal? Make it to the other side of all three without slipping off."
Carol was the first to speak up after Chris finished explaining, "Alright, I guess we're going to figure this out as we go, but Liz you should be the one going in the middle for this first one."
"Greeaaaat. Lemme hold that." Liz went over and grabbed the ball from Carol, who didn't really mind one bit. "It probably adds about 10 more pounds to ya holdin it." She joked, just to try and ease her over taking the ball, which she didn't know wasn't needed.
"Riiiight." Carol rolled her eyes with a smirk. "Good lookin out."
Carol and Laurie didn't weigh the same, with Carol being just about 9lbs heavier, but that wouldn't matter too much. Well, that's what they thought at least.
Liz simply walked onto the middle part of the path with no problems at all, but it would be made apparent just how unstable it can be with Laurie and Carol stepping on at roughly the same time. Carol had just one foot on it trying to stabilize it, but when picking her other foot up she instantly lost balance, resorting to her hands and knees.
"Whoa-Whoa! Much more unstable than I thought it'd be." Carol admitted, looking over at Laurie to check on how she's dealing with this. It was a mirror image, as Laurie is also on her hands and knees trying to keep it steady.
"I'm saying…" Laurie agreed, "Liz, how are-I'm finished." Laurie didn't even get to ask her question as Liz already guessed what it was, and just said it. "...Huh?' She almost couldn't believe it but glanced up and saw Liz already past the 1st Disk.
"You guys kept it stable enough for me to cross easily, so it wasn't that difficult." She said simply, "Though it looks like you'll be having a rough time with this part."
"I think we can just crawl at roughly the same pace, right." Carol said, as Laurie nodded.
"Got it. Just slowly make our way." And that's what they did, barely inching their way forward, momentarily stopping every time it got remotely uneven. Eventually, they managed to cross the 2nd bridge without falling.
The 3rd and final bridge were a gigantic circular one, with the middle of it cut out so they couldn't simply walk through it all. It was wide enough that it'd force them apart.
"Alright, looks like we're going to have to do some counter-balancing here." Carol immediately pointed out, "Since we can't use the middle, two of us will have to be on one side."
"Mhm." Noticing Liz isn't exactly paying attention, Laurie easily swipes the ball away from her while she's occupied with looking somewhere else.
"Wha-Hey!" Liz exclaimed seconds after noticing the ball was gone from her hands. "Give that-Uhg." She attempted to reach for the ball, but Laurie simply held it above her head. Liz huffed, shaking her head and looking back at the platform. "We don't have time for this. Me and Laurie will take the left, and Carol, you might need to go around the edges of it to keep this balanced. Let's move as fast as possible so there is less chance of us falling."
Carol would give a thumbs up, "Got it."
Liz stole a quick glance at Laurie, wanting to see if she could possibly get the ball back before going, but saw she was holding the ball far away from her, so no dice.
"Alright. Ready?" Liz said, glancing at the two of them. Both Laurie and Carol nod. "Alright. Set. Go." They each took off. Though over on Carol's side it was a bit scary with how she was nearly tight-rope walking near the edge to balance it out, she was able to keep her balance. Liz and Laurie didn't have to worry as much as they were closer to the middle.
As they finished up the last platform, Liz didn't even wait until they were done to attack Laurie. Not literally, but right after stepping off the tilt, Liz stopped and crouched, once again making herself an anchor to Laurie.
Laurie sighed "Again?" She thought, turning around to see Liz basically sitting on the floor at this point. With the ball in-hand, Laurie could only attempt to pull her with one arm. But she never got the chance. She only looked at Liz for about a second, but that was enough time for Carol to roll over and steal the ball from Laurie.
"Ah!" Laurie could only give a mini yelp as she realized what just happened. Laurie would grab the chain connected to Carol, but it was already too late as Carol went into the elevator a second earlier.
"And that's another point for Carol! Once again being stolen from Laurie." Chris said over the intercom, as Laurie could give a huff of annoyance at another point being taken from her near the end.
(Liz's Confessional)
"This is why I wanted to get rid of Marshal and Damian, a challenge like this. Can you imagine us trying to use this strategy against Damian? He'd toss us around like feathers."
Carol opened her mouth like she wanted to say something to Laurie as she entered the elevator but ended up taking a deep breath and exhaling. Liz also enters wordlessly, with the doors closing soon after as they go down another level.
"2 points for Carol as we're onto Floor 8." Chris announced, "Also, be warned that this next challenge may be a bit mesyy, but since none of you are Jared, I'm sure you'll be fine."
"That doesn't sound-" Liz began to say as the doors opened to show the 3rd challenge. "Too bad…" She slowly finished saying, watching the mud flood into the elevator. Liz only stared as the mud enclosed her feet. "This'll be fun." She'd remark to herself.
[3rd Challenge.]
"Right, you are Liz! For this challenge you'll each have to go over and under these giant tires, simple right? Cause it is! This reminds me of a challenge I've seen before…"
"Let's get this over with." Liz said, stepping out of the elevator first. She isn't exactly repulsed by the mud in this situation, but that doesn't exactly mean she likes it either. Liz slid under the first tire, hoping that not too much mud got onto her hair. With Liz going ahead like that, Carol and Laurie really couldn't do much except follow what she did, sliding.
"Hey, y'know this reminds me of that challenge in Blast From The Past." Carol would comment as she crawled. "More so the mud aspect."
"We've had our muddy adventures." Liz added. After picking herself up from the slide, she tried to jump up and climb through the next tire. Unfortunately for her, that did not work. She instead slipped while trying to get her footing and fell onto her ass. She quickly turned around to point at them,
"Don't, say anything." She warned. Carol couldn't help but chuckle now at her.
"Wasn't gonna." She'd admit, going over to give her a helping hand. Meanwhile Laurie hopped up and sat in the tire like a swing. She swung her legs up and through the middle to just turn and land on the other side. Carol and Liz would follow what Laurie did, as they continued their path of going under one, and through another tire, stumbling as they did so.
It was something simple, but it all changed with the last tire.
They still had one to go, and Laurie went through it first, waiting closely by the side of it after. Carol climbed through next, and right as she put her feet down on the other side, Laurie would grab her hand that held the ball, and sweep her legs out from under her.
"Wah!-" Carol was not prepared for that and fell flat on her back with a resounding splat, losing the ball in the process to Laurie.
"Carol?" Liz would call out, not in the right position to exactly see what happened. She could hear though as she climbed through the tire. Laurie didn't say anything as she quickly pulled the chain connected to Liz, causing her to tumble forward onto their side.
"Whoa!" She'd exclaim, barely getting her arms in-front of her to stop a faceplant. Neither Liz nor Carol could recuperate in time before Laurie stepped into the elevator.
"And Laurie gets her first point!" Chris yelled over the intercom. "A nice double takedown there I'd say so myself."
Laurie idly kicked the mud off the bottom of her flats as she waited for Carol and Liz to enter.
"Wow." Carol said in amazement, "That was well played, Laurie." She added with a small grin to go with it, "And cool."
"And painful." Liz stated, not exactly holding the same feelings that Carol did. While walking into the elevator, they as well kicked the mud off the bottom of their shoes so they wouldn't worry about slipping later on.
"Onto Floor 7" Chris would list off, the elevator dropping down a level soon after.
[4th Challenge.]
"Now we're back to a challenge that actually requires teamwork." Chris would say once the doors opened. Over to the side there was a disc of water, one which they'd have to fill up with water, and then cross almost a tight-rope path to the other side. Once there, they'll pour the water in. If they don't have enough the first trip, they'll have to take a second."
"Take the Disc of water, cross the beams, and pour said water in the bucket to open the elevator. Sort of simple, but still pretty challenging. Since you're probably not going to first try this, we got a water hose at the start if you need to refill again."
"This seems actually a bit difficult." Liz remarked, going over to stare at the water, looking at her own reflection.
"Y'know Liz, if you really wanted to, you could use that disc as like a bird bath-"
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Liz would yell at the direction of where his voice came from. She was sick and tired of all these short jokes. But of course, you know Chris didn't care one bit, as he proceeded to just laugh at her annoyance.
"Easy Liz." Carol said, patting her pal's shoulders. "Don't let Chris of all people get you riled up."
Liz took in a single deep breath, "I will try."
"Alright…What should we do?" Laurie spoke up to ask, putting the ball in her hand into the water so it could float.
"Simple, I take the middle, and we just have to balance ourselves as we hold it." Liz explained, grabbing an under-side of the disc. "I just pray it isn't too heavy."
Laurie and Carol would go on opposite sides and grab the under-side as well. "Guess we'll find out in a second." Carol added. "Three, two, one, lift." She'd countdown, all of them lifting at roughly the same time to find out…it wasn't that heavy at all.
"Oh…This isn't so bad." Liz would comment. And thankfully, the disc didn't have a natural tilt, even with Liz being shorter than either of them.
"I don't think this is the difficult part…" Laurie mumbled, looking behind at the beams they needed to cross. "Well..maybe just the start of it."
"Alright, let's try moving." Carol said. And they'd do that, shuffling away from the corner where it originally was. The water in the disc had a bit of leeway with it spilling out, but they shouldn't move all willy-nilly with it. The trio eventually made their way close enough to the beams, to which they can start to step on it.
"Hmm." Liz hummed, realizing something important. Unlike Carol and Lauire who are on the sides, and can obviously see much more, Liz can't see much below her, the disc is blocking the view of her feet, and in-front of her. "Hey, can either one of you put a foot on the beam and tell me how it feels?" She asks, "I don't exactly have a view here."
"Kay." Carol proceeded to put one of her boots on the beam. She figured out you had just enough space to keep it straight but angling it to the side also worked as well. "Yeah, you can sort of walk straight on it, though it's much harder while holding this. Also, kind of awkward since I've got to be holding it off to the side."
Liz gave a short and quick sigh, "Great. Let's just go, see how this works before I inevitably trip and fall."
Carol, and then Laurie would start to walk their way onto the plank. Few seconds later, Liz took a few baby steps onto it as well, meaning that they all were balancing now.
"Ah god." Liz would mumble, already on shaky legs. "I can't even tell where I'm stepping either." Liz moved her back-foot ahead of her other foot at a moderate speed, fearing if she did it too fast or slow, she'd topple over. She never got to restabilize herself however, as when putting her foot down she did feel the beam. And then, she didn't. It unexpectedly slipped off the side, as she couldn't tell how close to the edge it was when she placed it down.
"AH!-" Liz would fall still clinging onto the disc. Both gals, still balanced, realized pretty quickly that Liz was falling, and they promptly let go of the disc instinctively, not wanting to fall themselves. Liz let go on her way to the ground, but it was already too late. As she hit the patting, the disc landed on her face down, splashing basically all the water onto her.
"You okay Liz?" Carol immediately asked, while Laurie jumped down to get the disc off of her.
"I'm peachy." Liz kicked the disc off of her in vexation. Laurie would catch the disc, and then help Liz up off the ground. "Least that water got some of the mud off my clothes." She'd say, trying not to appear too annoyed, but that too quickly washed away as she stomped to the beginning of the challenge. Laurie picked up the ball that had fallen off and tossed it to the end of the challenge.
"Let's just refill and try again."
Laurie followed behind Liz as they both carried it, while Carol decided to just backtrack on the beam backwards, hopping off and joining the two afterwards. Liz and Laurie would place the disc back onto the podium, as Liz grabbed the hose and began to refill it back up.
"Close call, wasn't it?" Chris said over the Intercom, without having any indication that it was on. "Probably should've had a lifeguard out there, Liz nearly drowned." After that statement, Laurie and Carol could audibly hear a low growl from Liz.
(Liz's Confessional)
"Out of everything, and everyone, to have gotten me the most pissed off this season, it has got to be Chris. I mean-"
"I am very flattered to hear that, Liz." Chris interjected.
"Uhg!" Liz could only whine at her confessional being ruined.
"Easy….easy.." Carol attempted to mitigate her friend's pain.
Liz closed her free hand tightly, "I know. I know, I'm trying." After filling the disc up, the Gals were once again back at the beams.
"Liz, try shuffling instead." Carol would suggest. Liz merely nodded, she just wanted to get this over with. Laurie and Carol got onto the beams first, and then Liz shortly after, this time doing what Carol said, and shuffling her feet instead.
This strategy actually worked pretty well. Carol and Laurie, both balanced each other out, and though Liz kind of still wobbled every now and then, it was manageable. Liz had her eyes on the elevator door in the distance…as she really had no other place to look.
"I'm glad Chris didn't put twists or turns on this thing, otherwise we'd be here for an eternity." Laurie said.
"We would've, but we wanted to spread out the difficulty. Shocking, right?" Chris explained, "Probably should have made it harder now that you say it, would have been better to watch you struggle."
"I'm sure it would've." Liz mumbled, wanting to roll her eyes there, but literally fearing if she did so, she'd somehow slip off doing it. Couple inches further, and they've successfully managed to cross the beam, without spilling the water no less.
"Please let this be one and done." Liz sighed, now able to walk on two legs normally again. Without turning her head too much, her eyes went to her right, checking to see where the ball Laurie threw was located. It was in the area of the closed elevator, and the walls. Not the best spot it could be in, but it's something.
Looking at the empty bucket near the elevator, they stopped in front of it. They didn't need to lift it higher or anything, so they went ahead and tilted the disc over the bucket to fill it. Almost as if answering Liz's prayers, or since it was designed that way, the elevator doors opened.
"Nice." Carol said plainly, before noticing Liz had rushed off into the other direction. That's when she realized the ball Laurie had thrown was there. Now Carol knew they were working together, so she wasn't in a rush to stop her. In fact, she wasn't even going to try. Now Laurie on the other hand, took a second or two before realizing that she needed to stop Liz.
With Liz running, and Laurie chasing, Carol physically had to follow them.
Even with the element of surprise, and Liz being pretty quick, Laurie managed to catch up just in time to allow her to punt the ball right as Liz made a move to grab it.
"Damn it!" Liz shouted, looking up to see where the ball was headed. Now the ceiling of that room isn't high at all, so when Laurie kicked it off the wall, it bounced up and hit the ceiling, ricocheting over Liz and Laurie, and right into the palms of someone else.
Carol barely saw the sigh coming from Laurie before she dipped into the elevator with the ball, not really knowing what, or how she ended up with it.
"And a 3rd point for Carol! Almost like it was gift-wrapped for her this time."
As Laurie entered the elevator, Carol could tell she was at the very least, mildly annoyed. But she did not say anything. Liz also was a bit pissed,
"Nice job." Liz stated. Though Liz is sort of alright with Carol getting points over Laurie, she'd rather have points herself, considering she has none. In fact, she'd rather win this thing entirely, not Carol. She does not want to rely on someone else for a spot in the Finale.
(Laurie's Confessional)
The confessional would start with a sigh of disapproval. "It's like watching my chances of making it to the Finale slip-away…Literally."
"Onto Floor 6." Chris announced, the elevator closing shut. "Carol has 3 points, and Laurie has 1. I hope you know that getting 6 points is a guarantee into the Finale, so maybe you two need to work harder."
"Thanks for the advice." Liz would mutter, not meaning to speak loud enough for him to hear. But alas-
"No problem." He replied as the doors opened.
[5th Challenge.]
"Welcome to Target Practice."
The first thing they all noticed upon the doors opening was the ceiling. "Why is the roof of this one so low?" Laurie would question, getting on her tiptoes to brush her fingers onto the ceiling.
"Eh, we used a set height for each of em, and for this challenge we had to do stuff with slopes. Speaking of slopes, why don't you take a look at what you're about to do?"
Liz walked up first, looking at the rope that was on the ground. It wasn't her chain, but it was instead connected to the sled at the bottom of the slope near the elevator.
"Huh…" Liz began to piece together the puzzle in her head, but it wasn't needed as Chris would talk on the Intercom again.
"It's probably what you're thinking. All of you have to get on the sled, attempt to throw the ball, and hit the small targets. They only show themselves whenever you're sliding down. We were nice enough to give you handle-bars, so you don't fly off and hit the elevator full-force…but it's your choice if you want to use it or not."
"So, either fly into the elevator doors, or suffer whiplash." Liz said as she pulled the sled up slowly by herself.
"Precisely."
"What variety, it's almost impossible to pick." Liz continued to be sarcastic, having gotten the sled up to the top by herself. "I don't know if it matters or not, but I'll be in the front. Short to tall, just to make this go by quicker." She was adamant in getting these challenges done quickly.
"...Who's going to throw?" Carol asked.
"We can alternate." Laurie would suggest.
"True." Carol was the tallest of the three, so she kept a hold of the ball for now. "I guess I'll throw first since I'll be on the back."
Liz crossed her legs as she sat down, grabbing both handles on the sled. Laurie followed suit, deciding to put her knees against her chest instead. Carol decided to crouch on the back, slightly leaning onto Laurie.
"Erm…hope you don't mind this, but I think I'd be a bit more accurate if I kind of stood." Carol said, completely fine with sitting if Laurie didn't like her leaning.
"It's fine." Laurie didn't mind, she just hoped she wouldn't be landed on.
"Alrighty, let's go." Carol pushed off like she was on a skateboard, tilting the sled just enough to move it over the edge. With that, the covers blocking the targets retracted out of the way. The sled moved down the slope at a faster pace than Carol had expected, and she had completely missed her toss, far later than what was needed.
"I didn't-Oh-" Carol was about to stand up entirely, but quickly realized that she was going to be launched about a few seconds later, so she instead sat down and grabbed the handles on the side. After the sled reached the bottom and now flat part of the room, it slowly started coming to a stop before being pulled entirely to a halt by the rope, giving a minor jolt to the three.
"Okay…" Liz said, a hint of surprise in her voice. "That wasn't actually that bad. I half expected to fly off into oblivion."
"Me too Liz, me too."
Liz tilted her head back and sighed, "I can't go two seconds…" She'd mumble, trying not to appear too annoyed. While they took the steps to take another attempt, a question sprung into Laurie's head.
"...Why didn't we get more to throw?" She'd ask, having a quizzical look at the ball Carol would hand to her.
"Because it'd be too easy when you're throwing prayers up at the same time…" Then there was a slight pause, "Also because I want to see if any of you will fly off."
"Course." Liz had expected a reason beyond not wanting it to be too easy.
"Same spots, or do you want to get on the back?" Carol asked.
"Ehh…" Laurie thought about it for a second, "I'll stay in the middle." Laurie would have her shot at hitting a target. She aimed for the 2nd one instead of the 1st…and still ended up missing it far left. Again, they were jolted by the sudden pull of the rope.
Liz rubbed the back of her neck, "Riveting. If this takes long enough, it's going to be a guaranteed case of whiplash for all of us." Liz would comment, getting up to go pick up the ball.
Next it was Liz's turn, and right as Carol sent them off down the slope again, Liz threw the ball preemptively, somehow hitting the 1st target as soon as it opened.
"Nice!" Carol pumped a fist into the air before quickly putting it back on the handle.
"Didn't think that'd work." Liz said to herself.
They would continue to alternate, Carol went again…and missed once more. Laurie then managed to snipe the 3rd target even though she was actually aiming for the 2nd, but it still worked out anyway.
And then Liz went 2/2 as she hit the 2nd target, once again doing the same thing she did before.
The ball they were to battle for had the bounce of a lifetime, specifically for Liz. With the angle it hit the target, it bounced right beside the elevator, not in front, but still very close. Closest to the ball? Was Liz of course, hopping up onto her feet and darting to the ball.
It might've been a hunch, but the least Carol knew was that pulling the chains connected to them would easily halt any movement. So, to prevent Laurie from doing that to Liz this time, she got Laurie into a bearhug, trapping her arms momentarily.
"Huh?!" Laurie would exclaim. After Liz had held her chain back a few times earlier, Laurie is surprised that they're finding new ways to prevent her from getting points.
With Laurie preoccupied, Liz grabbed the ball and skipped into the elevator. She didn't exactly know what Carol had done until she turned around to look.
Letting go, Carol almost couldn't look at Laurie, even if she didn't turn around to look back. She knows she's working with Liz in the challenge, but that doesn't exactly soften the effect of doing this that much. Carol doesn't think this is the fairest way of winning, but she realizes that Total Drama in general isn't very fair. Besides, this isn't exactly illegal, is it? That's her way of justifying it to herself.
"And Liz is finally on the board! A point goes to her thanks to Carol."
"It's something." Liz would say in a hushed tone, leaning against the back of the elevator. Carol and Laurie entered soon after, and then they were onto the next floor.
"Alright, we've reached the halfway point, Floor 5. All of you have at least a point, but Carol has 3 of those."
[6th Challenge.]
Once the doors opened, the first thing everyone noticed was the pit of water ahead of them. In-fact, there was barely any solid floor, the entire room was mostly water, except for the first step outside. In which, to the right was a shelf with 19 rings on top of it, all of them with a name. In the water were multiple mini platforms, each big enough to fit just one person.
"Perfect, just what we needed, more water." Liz sarcastically remarked upon seeing the challenge.
"And right you are. Remember those 19 other people that were in the game? I'm sure ya do. But do remember just how many votes each of them was eliminated with?"
"So, if all of us were one team, how would we know how many votes somebody had on the other?" Liz questioned.
"Then I wouldn't have done the challenge like this smart one."
Liz immediately opened her mouth to retort, but slowly shut it. "...True…actually."
"So, you take those rings, and whichever name is on it, you throw it on a certain numbered rung. You can only throw the ring on a platform, if you throw it in the water every rung will simply retract, making you restart. If you so happen to miss and accidentally get another one instead, the same thing. But if a ring falls in the water just go down and get it."
"Seems simple enough…" Carol would say.
"Yeah, we don't have any arm-floaties though, so make sure that-ANYWAY!" Chris was in the midst of speaking before Liz abruptly cut him off, probably knowing that he was on his way to insulting her again.
"Laurie, we'll start with your team since you're the only one that'll know, and I don't think we'll get it all first try." Liz explained, walking out of the elevator to take two rings.
"Sure…" Laurie replied, taking the rings that Liz would hand to her. She'd stare at them blankly, squinting her eyes slightly, and sighing. "Erm…I'm dyslexic, I can't really read these well." She then looked across the pit at the numbered rungs, "Or…those either."
"Oh, right. Well, Carol and I will do the lifting in this challenge, just tell us how many votes they each had." She threw one ring at Carol for her to catch. "That one says Blake, and this one says Dirk."
"Blake's was four. And Dirk was…" Laurie paused, thinking about it, "S..Seven? No-" She'd shake her head, "It was also four."
"Alright, four twice." Liz would toss the ring with Dirk's name at Carol for her to throw as well. Considering Carol had already stepped onto a floatie, she was fine with throwing em both. She'd catch the 2nd ring and continue to get close enough to where she was comfortable with throwing from.
Carol nearly slipped when going for the 2nd set of floaties, and that made her stop to ask a question. "Hey Chris, if we fall, can we just swim to one of these?"
Chris's response? "Go on, I don't care."
"Great." Carol wasn't thrilled about being drenched in her clothes, but whatever was needed to make the challenge easier. She'd hold up a ring to her eye, and then out-stretched in-front of her, trying to calculate how to throw it. It ain't as simple as say, like an actual ring toss game at a fair or something, this was on an angle.
"Eh." She figured there wasn't anything there anyway, so it wouldn't really matter if she got it wrong now. And she'll probably fall in the water sooner or later. She went ahead and tossed the first ring which was Blake's, and successfully got her first throw. Her second throw? She'd also make.
But she leaned a bit too far forward with that one, and after clumsily swinging her arms trying to save herself, eventually toppled over into the water.
She'd resurface not looking exactly the happiest at falling in like that, got back onto the floatie she just fell off, ready to throw some more.
Liz looked at another ring, this one being Jared. She smirked slightly, "I know this one, I was right beside him." Liz looked out towards Carol, noticing she was still over on the furthest floatie. She'd toss it like a frisbee, "This one is eight Carol!" After doing that, she went back to look at more of the rings.
"Got it!" Carol was ready for the throw and reached out to get the ring.
Laurie really wasn't happy in barely needing to be here for this specific challenge. She was actually pretty vital though, considering if she didn't want to tell them, they'd have to guess, with nearly a 0% chance to get it in a few attempts.
Carol went ahead and threw Jared's ring but ended up missing the 8th rung by undershooting it. "Dang." She muttered, diving into the water to fetch it.
Liz took two more rings, one which said Khalil, and another that said Max. "Well." She spun Max's ring on her hand, "I know what this one is." Liz glanced at the other ring she had, holding it up for Laurie to see. "This is Khalil's, how many votes did he get?"
"Four." Laurie replied.
Liz raised a brow, "Really? Again?"
"Huh…" This made Laurie pause to think. "Now that I think about it, everybody except for Adam were eliminated with 4 votes in the pre-merge…."
"Well, that makes things much easier doesn't it." Liz would remark, "Was he the one that had 7?" She'd go ahead and guess.
"Yeah actually." And after that, Carol finally got Jared's ring on the #8. Even though Liz said that she and Carol would be doing the lifting, it's more Carol doing the actual hard part, as Liz is deciding just to throw the rings at her and tell her which rung to throw it to. The next scene shown was actually a montage, a montage of Laurie and Liz throwing rings at Carol, and Liz calling out numbers. Carol had her aim and precision going through a workout with the number of times she had to throw. Good thing she has skill, and even though she missed a few times, she never did accidentally restart everything like a goon, so it worked out anyway.
"And the last one here is Damian, may I?" Liz was the sole cause of Damian's elimination, she just wanted to throw this last ring just because. And of course, not seeing anything wrong with it, Carol allowed her, taking a dive into the water.
"Go ahead!" She called out.
"Great." Liz grinned. She had picked up the ball a minute ago in the montage and was now traversing her way over the water with the platforms. She could hear Laurie hopping her way through as well behind her, so she wanted to do this in one try. "Just another stone." She looked through the middle of the ring, glancing at the #1. Liz tossed the ring towards it, jumping into the water as she did so. She wanted as big of a head start as she could get. Her one and only throw at this challenge was successful, and not a second later the elevator door opened.
"Nice throw." Carol said, having looked at the door when she heard the sound of it opening. When she looked back, she couldn't even see Liz anymore. "Uh." Carol watched as Laurie hopped, skipped and jumped into the water, presumably after Liz. But with that lead Liz got, it was basically hopeless since she is the fastest swimmer. It didn't take long for her to reappear right in front of the elevator, getting out of the water and simply rolling into it.
"My favorite. Swimming without my swim-suit." Liz tossed the ball in the air to catch it again.
"And Liz gets her 2nd point. I guess this challenge isn't quite over just yet."
"Are we just never allowed to change before swimming anymore?" Carol had to ask, climbing out of the water. They changed about twice, but since like the merge they haven't been able to.
"Maybe if I cared to give you time." You could just hear the shrug radiating off of Chris's tone.
Laurie would get a helping hand from Carol out of the water. "At least he's honest about it." She spoke.
"Down to Floor 4. Carol with 3, Liz with 2, and Laurie with 1. Looks like it isn't going to be easy as you thought, huh Carol?" Chris would question.
"Well, uh..." Carol rubbed the back of her neck, "I never really thought it'd be easy-"
"Anyways, on to the next challenge!" Chris exclaimed as the elevator doors opened.
[7th Challenge.]
Not really a self-explainable challenge, but there are two holdable platforms in the room. Two have to pick those up and place them in front of the third who will be walking on top of it. If it's too far away they won't be able to cross, and if it's too short then it's just going to take forever to finish.
"All you have to do is get one of you to make your way to the middle, pull the rope, and reach the other side. If you fall, don't worry, we have a nice comforting pile of dirt everywhere for your landing to be as soft as possible."
"I suppose it's obvious I'm the one that's going to be walking on them?" Liz asked the other two, knowing that her statue would make it the easiest.
"Yeah." Carol replied, unsure if she should finish her statement for fear of offending Liz. "It's kind of...you know-"
"Easier?" Liz finished the sentence for her, as Carol could only nod.
"Mhm.."
"If it's obvious, it's obvious." She shrugged, uncaring if her two friends pointed it out, knowing they're not making fun of her about it.
"So, you're finally embracing the fact that you're tiny?" Chris stated. But, on the other hand, there is Chris. He simply can't help himself to try and get a reaction from Liz, and it works...literally every time.
"Get the podiums and let's go." Liz said, not responding to what Chris just said. Carol and Laurie went over to grab the podiums, while Liz walked up the steps to the beginning platform. She'd stretch her legs out a little as the duo brought the podiums back, and Laurie put hers in the ground first. "Alright, let's see how this goes." Liz would mumble to herself, putting a foot up to step on it.
Carol moved her podium in front about a foot or two ahead, as Liz would move her other leg forward onto that one, and eventually put both feet onto to see how hard it would be to balance. She would momentarily wobble but regained her balance quickly enough.
"Okay, not that bad." Liz said to herself. "Just time consuming."
And time consuming it was. Laurie and Carol made absolute sure not to make the distances between poles too far for Liz's...small stature. A slow type-rope act for Liz, and a boring 5 minutes for Chris. But hey, the entertainment was far from over in this challenge, far from it. But eventually the two are able to direct Liz directly under the rope, as she'd look up at it in curiosity.
She can't exactly see what it's connected to and can only wonder what will happen when she pulls it. Maybe the entire building they're in explodes? Maybe the room is engulfed in flames? Well, she's about to find out.
Liz grasped the rope, looking up at the hole the rope was put through, "Do I really have to?" She'd ask, already knowing something is going to happen to her.
"Unless you want to stay in this room for hours, yes."
And that was that. Liz looked up and yanked the rope down, wondering what type of hell Chris had prepared for them. Apparently, it was a bit of the water used for the previous challenge. Only a surprised could escape from Liz as she looked down to not inhale any of that water. Laurie and Carol also were fast enough to react and not drink any of that water that may or may not be contaminated, both making sure they didn't lose their grip on the podium they stuck in the ground.
After making feeling out the entire water was gone and opening her eyes, she looked down at her skirt that was JUST starting to dry. Not exactly dry anymore.
"Honestly, I thought Liz was going to be washed away." She might've, if she didn't hold onto that rope, so pretty lucky for her.
"At least that got some of the mud off." Liz would mutter, having avoided the water in the previous challenge for no reason it seems. All of that water made the dirt just a tad bit more slippery. "Alright. Onward." She said, ready to either continue and make it, or fall off and have to deal with Chris again. They wouldn't let the extra mud and the cold touch of the water deter them, and they would push on to complete the challenge, with Liz stepping onto the ending platform with a sigh of relief.
"Glad that's done." She almost hopped off without realizing what was going to happen, but she'd stop herself short of leaping when she saw the elevator doors open. "Oh right-" She barely even got her words out before Laurie jumped ran up the steps to snatch the ball away from her clutches. "W-" Liz thought about leaping after Laurie as she darted down the steps, though she realized that it probably wasn't a smart idea.
Carol was next to lunge, that being directed towards Laurie. She could only scrape the back of her shirt before Laurie ducked, causing Carol to trip over her.
"WAH!" And that was all the space Laurie needed to make to walk into the elevator unopposed. Meanwhile, Carol looks up at Liz as she descends the steps. Carol, still on the ground, would shrug at her friend with an embarrassed grin. Liz couldn't help but smirk and to give her a hand up as they walked into the elevator.
"Onto Floor 3, Carol with 3, Liz with 2, and Laurie with 2. Looks like this battle is still heating up."
"More like cooling off with all this water." Liz looked down at her soaked dress, "Every time."
"You'll get your time to dry off, riiight after you finish this challenge. Speaking of, next one is-"
[8th Challenge]
The door opened to show...nothing. Literally nothing. They stared right outside the elevator and could clearly see the elevator on the other side. All of them were rightly confused, looking at each other mostly puzzled, wondering if they were just seeing things. Or, not seeing things more like it.
"Uh, the challenge invisible?" Carol was the first to ask, acting like a mime as she pushes against an invisible ``Wall`` that is blocking her from exiting the elevator. It was at this point where the Campers could overhear the three talking in their little studio.
Chris stared blankly at, well nothing in the room.
It took a second to register, but then he turned around to give an annoyed glare to Chef. "Chef!" Chris pointed at the camera, "What happened to the challenge!"
"Why you asking me?" Chef responded sharply, "I ain't the one who decided where the challenges go, you were!" While over off in the corner watching this all go done, is Blaineley eating a bag of chips, knowing she had exactly zero business in what happened here. "Not my fault you forgot."
"You'd think I'd forget a challenge made to cause the camper's pain?"
"Yes." Chef simply stated.
As that entire argument was going on, the Final 3 were thinking, well what are they going to do now. Carol and Laurie were just standing around, while Liz was busy laughing at Chris's mistakes. Granted it wasn't caused by Liz herself, but it's still something she can enjoy.
"How would I forget a challenge in the Final 3 no less-"
"Chris, as much as I'd like to hear you and your struggles." Liz chuckled a bit after saying that, "And trust me, I would. We kind of got a challenge to continue." She'd look at her wrist, checking an invisible watch. Must be waterproof. "Right about now-ish I'd say."
They could hear a groan coming from the Intercom. "Know what, you're correct about that. Since SOMEONE, forgot to put the challenge we we're supposed to do here. I guess you three will just have to fight for the ball across the way." He explained on the fly, "Don't worry though, we've got something for you in the floor under."
Liz clapped in a slow condescending manner, "Wow. Nice one there Chris-" As Liz continued picking at Chris, Laurie out of nowhere darts out of the elevator.
"Jeez!" Carol exclaimed, chasing after her after a second of hesitation.
"Huh-" After taking a split second to realize what had just happened, Liz ran out after Laurie as well. "Shit!" She'd exclaim, being too distracted by her quarrel with Chris to make sure Laurie didn't just do what she just did. She pointed at a corner of the room, saying- "This isn't over! I'm not letting you live this down!" Liz stated, now focused on catching that ball.
Even with how fast Carol and Liz are, Laurie had quite the head start, and the room isn't even that big to begin with. So, they had their work cut out for them. Carol was closest though and was gaining on her fast. That changed when Laurie hit a hard left, causing Carol to stumble when trying to change directions, her boots should've had grip right? Apparently not. She'd stumble into the wall next to the elevator, thankful she didn't straight up ram her face into the wall, that would've been bad. "Wait..."
If she was already next to the elevator, that would mean-
"And Laurie rallies back with her 3rd point!"
"Uhg! Chris!" Liz shouted in irritation, looking at the corners for a camera. "If I lose because of that, it-"
"Was your own fault because you weren't prepared!" Chris quickly said to cut-her off, not wanting to hear her right about now. "Onto Floor 2!" He said, which made Carol skedaddle into the elevator to not be dragged behind.
"Carol and Laurie with 3. Liz with 2. It can either be decided here, or we go into a Tiebreaker."
[9th Challenge]
First thing they saw when the doors opened, was a large hamster ball, presumably large enough to fit all 3 of them in. And since it was see-through, they can see giant hammers in the room prepared to knock them back from where they came.
"This is what I like to call a game of pinball. Just with a little less game, and a lot more PAIN."
"You know, I'd take the empty room again to be honest." Laurie would joke, just knowing that this is going to end up hurting a bit.
Liz had to agree. "Same."
"All you gals got to do is traverse these hammers that will, and most likely succeed in knocking you backwards. And make it to the red line, which signifies that you can now exit the ball. Have fun."
Liz glanced at the ball in front of her and sighed. "Let's get it over with." She was in no mood to dally around this time. She's down a point and is not risking either Carol or Laurie winning this challenge. Although, that looks like it may be a possibility. Carol couldn't find a reason to disagree, and neither could Laurie; so, they'd both follow Liz into the hamster ball.
"How about we not get hit?" Liz suggested.
Carol would nod, "Sounds like a plan. But think you can see a good way through from here?" She'd look forward, squinting her eyes to try and see if she could find a path.
"Not really."
"WATCH OUT!" Laurie suddenly yelled, jump-scaring the other two who weren't prepared for it. Apparently, there was one hammer that had yet to show itself due to Chris purposefully having it stopped. Now, it's making it's swing towards the trio, who can't do anything due to Laurie seeing it too late. They could only scream in anticipation, and barely move the ball and inch before getting putted like a golf ball by the hammer into the wall. They flew to one side of the ball once hit, and then the other once they made contact with the wall. They'd eventually slow down to a stop, all of them in a pile on the floor.
"Alright...Never get hit...noted." Carol weakly said. She felt something on her stomach, and sat up to find Liz draped across her, while Laurie is sitting on Liz's legs.
"Ahuh." Liz ended up coughing, prying her legs from under Laurie, "I almost can't feel my legs."
"Sorry..." Laurie apologized, even though it was accidental, and she really had no say in what happened. She was still sorry in the end.
"We've got to make absolute sure we don't get hit by anything else." Liz said as they all got back on their own two legs. "But...why do I feel as though Chris made is almost impossible to do that?"
"Is that so wrong?" He'd question with a shrug, and neither Chef nor Blaineley cared to answer that.
"Let's roll. SLOWLY." Liz made sure they heard that last word, not wanting to become a human pinball again. People on this show already know what that's like. They agreed to move along the wall, until they almost ran into a problem. One of the hammers were swinging directly at them if they tried to continue along the wall. Even when it swung back, another took its place on the left, so they couldn't even avoid it then, as they'd waltz right into another. If they tried to roll past that one, they'd get hit by the one moving from side to side. This place was just made for pain. Or isn't the entire show all about that?
"Alright. It may actually be a planned maze." Liz admitted, being the one searching for a safe path through.
"We may have to risk it." Carol realized. "I think we should-"
"Risk it? What do you mean? You want to get hit by another hammer?" She'd ask, as Carol grimaced. She didn't, but figured it was one of the only ways.
"No, but I think it's one of the ways we could get there. We wait until this one swings back, and we follow it. When that starts coming towards us, we switch sides. Yes, it'll most likely punt us into a wall, and it'll hurt, but I think it's the fastest."
"If you say so." Laurie didn't want to argue, and Liz really couldn't find something to argue about anymore. "I think we should try it."
"Hope it works." Is what Liz prayed would happen. Then they put the plan into action, waiting for the hammer to swing just close to them before moving after it. "I just want to say Carol, if I get a concussion, I'm blaming you.' She'd speak as they advanced.
"Fair." Carol remarked. Once they got to the middle and the hammer reached its apex, they'd crossover to the one coming from behind.
"Get read-" Laurie couldn't even finish her sentence and they were sent off. Carol became the unlucky individual to be crushed as they're sent flying through the air, fortunately flying by a few hammers that were out of the way at the right time. As planned, they smack against the wall on the other side. The ball slowly rolled to a stop, and they groggily stood to their feet.
"Hey, that actually worked." Liz said, but she said it a bit too quickly. Like at the start, Chris had a hammer that he could control himself, and they had so happened to land right smack-dab in front of it. "Nice job-AHH!" Chris sends them from the right to the left side of the room as he'd laugh and turn on the intercom.
"Hah! I should've done this challenge earlier! Actually, I should've done this as its own challenge earlier in the season."
Liz was busy clutching her head in pain to do any more than say, "Screw you, Chris." Laurie was gingerly rubbing her arm someone accidentally landed on, and Carol was on her back look at the ceiling.
"Ah, that was very well worth the wait." Chris sounded pleased with how the challenge progress. "How you feel about that challenge Liz?"
"I feel for-shut up. That's what." She gave a snarky response. It was at this moment she realized that they crossed the line, meaning they could get out of this ball now.
"At least we did it...for real this time." Carol gave a thumbs up, sitting up and attempting to look out of the ball. "Does this mean we can get out now?" That question would be answered when Liz opened the hatch on the side and straight up dove out. Laurie had a feeling that she would try something like that and reached out to grab her legs to stop her, but she was just a bit too late. Just like a snake, Liz managed to slither her way out and into the elevator.
"Welp. Guess that answered it." Carol shrugged, a straightforward tone.
(Carol's Confessional.)
"I feel like I've been a bit too lax in this challenge. It's the Final 3, even though I'm working with Liz I should be trying my hardest to win myself! I had 3 through the first 4, but it still ended up going to a tiebreaker. If I even won one more, I could've-Wait, no could've, should've, would've. I can still win this in the tiebreaker."
"And Liz ties it up with 3 of her own. Meaning now, we go to a tiebreaker." Chris announced, the elevator moving to ground level. "I'm surprised it's being used, I thought one of you would win out-right before hand, but thankfully I could rely on some of you choking to get here."
"Better be a challenge here Chris. Or did you even forget that you said 10 total?"
"Sometimes Liz I forget you're even here. Sometimes I can't see you on the camera, but I can hear your voice."
"And sometimes you forget a challenge, in a game all about the challenges. How do you even do that?"
Carol was tempted to watch them go back and forth for a minute, just to see how long they'd go on for. But she was a bit antsy right now, and really wanted to get on with the tiebreaker, so she went ahead to put a stop to it.
"Hey uh, I know you guys have your disagreements, but what about the tiebreaker?" She'd point to the still closed doors.
"Oh right. And before Liz can say anything, the challenge is outside of this building." Chris made sure to explain, opening the elevator for them. Like he mentioned, nothing was in the room, but this time nothing was supposed to be there.
"Well, here it is, the actual Final Challenge on the ground level. Somehow, it's tied at 3 between you three, but that's why there were 10 total challenges, there will be a winner after this one."
"That is how numbers work Chris." Liz stated with sarcasm, now having her time to annoy Chris. "We can't tie if we only have one more to do."
"You don't want to make that mistake Liz-"
Liz pointed to a corner of the room, possibly where the Intercom was placed. "You, don't make that mistake." Now Liz couldn't hear him with the intercom off, but Chris began to laugh on the other side of it. He'd turn it back on to say-
"If you say so." Chris would move on to more important things, knowing he can just get her back later. "Ditch that ball there would you Liz, you're not going to be needing it for this last one." Liz did as she was told and tossed the ball off-screen to her side. "We're going back to the flags."
"Is third time the charm for these flags?" Liz asked, thinking back to jet-ski and mountain challenge.
"Precisely."
"Well, uh, where's the flag?" Carol questioned, not exactly seeing any sort of flag in the room they're in.
"It's not for you to carry to the destination, it's for you to grab AT said destination."
"Oh...so we're racing to see who can grab the flag first?" Laurie ended up asking to Chris's irritation.
Chris sighed, thinking about how annoying it was when he's going to explain something, and they just keep asking obvious questions. "Yes Laurie, that's exactly it. And I would've explained it already if I wasn't interrupted so much."
"S-Sorry..." She'd apologize.
"The flag that you need to hoist up isn't in here, but outside on the mound. There is no possible way you should miss it. It's right in-front of you, it's big, it's brown, and it has a flag on top of it. Got it?"
"Not yet I don't." Liz replied.
"Well, you're about to get your chance, because this challenge starts...now!" As soon as Chris finished speaking, the trio each took off in a sprint towards the lone door separating them from the outside. Liz being the quickest, got the better of the other two as she threw her body into the door to open it. She briefly slowed down her pace as she looked up at the mound, which towered over the three of them, casting a shadow above them.
"Oh wow..." Liz would whisper in awe, clearly not expecting it to be this giant.
Each of them could clearly see the flag stationed on top, something that would establish their free pass into the Finale. "So that's what we're fighting over huh." Carol stated, skidding to a halt right next to her.
"...Best of luck to the both of you." Laurie said, also walking and then taking the spot to the right of Liz.
"Hm." Liz only hummed as a response to that, and suddenly broke off into a sprint up the hill.
Liz's Confessional.
"Previously I was trying to work together with Carol in an attempt to make sure Laurie didn't win." Liz exhaled slightly as a sigh, "As you can see, it didn't work. Now I have to win this, there is no slowing down Laurie for Carol to win. I refuse to let someone that's been coasting throughout the entire game make the decision if I should be in the finale or not, and I-" Liz paused, taking a deep breath and calming herself down. "Might've been a bit too harsh there. I know I've been in an alliance with Carol nearly the entire game, but you never know, a split-second decision is all it takes for her to suddenly turn on me. I just don't want to take that chance. Course I couldn't have gotten here without Carol's help, but there's always someone that leads the way, and someone that follows."
It didn't take long for Liz to feel resistance on her arm thanks to the chain being pulled. It wasn't a yank, but someone was definitely holding onto it, and that person was Laurie. It ended up throwing Liz off balance slightly, allowing Carol and Laurie to run by her as she was struggling.
As Carol and Laurie ran side by side, Carol got a sudden idea to try and stop her from pulling ahead, which was trip her. She could've just stuck her arm out to put her off balance a bit, but in a quick decision, Carol instead did a small hop and threw her left leg across to kick Laurie's foot as it was just about to come up. It looked intentionally like a well place kicked, but it was mostly by luck where she ended up hitting her.
It didn't exactly end up well for both parties. Laurie was tripped and stuck out her hands to prevent her from falling completely flat. Meanwhile Carol ended up throwing herself off-balance as well, causing her to stumble and join Laurie on the ground.
Liz had been back on her feet as she watched their scuffle but knew she couldn't just dash by them without being taken down herself. So, she opted to wait, she had the time, as they weren't even halfway up the mound yet. Laurie got to her feet first and would use Carol's back as a chance to get ahead, using it sort of like a game of leapfrog. Carol scurried to her feet and chased after her.
"Not the rematch I thought I'd be having with you, but I accept the challenge nonetheless!" Carol shouted as she ran behind Laurie.
"Yeah!" Is what Laurie could think of to reply with, as most of her focus being put into winning the current challenge. Laurie glanced behind her to check where Carol was, and saw she was arm's length away. So, she decided to use her own arm, and threw her right back to try and push Carol off-balance. This didn't work since Carol reacted fast enough to put her arm out to swat the attempt away.
It stung her a bit, but she'd push through the pain as they continued their up-hill battle, with Liz being more like an active spectator at the current moment.
"I half expected Chef to be throwing barrels down the hill or something..." Liz would say, mostly to herself.
Chris slowly facepalmed with a 'Can't believe I forgot something like that' type of expression as he turned to Chef.
"We totally could've done something like that." Chris would say. Chef shrugged as a response.
Liz finally decided to speed up again, now running side by side with Carol as she thought about what to do. Without say, she'd grab the chain connecting Laurie to Carol, and yanked it for her, halting Laurie's ascent and making her stumble backwards down the hill.
Liz didn't even give Carol a second glance as she'd pull ahead and hop over the fallen Laurie, as it's almost shocking that nobody's arm has been dislocated due to that maneuver. Carol would briefly look behind her to see a less than happy Laurie roll back onto her feet, who is still hot on their trail. Just a couple more steps away though, Liz could see the promised land. Coincidentally, it looked much like a hill with a flag on top of it, but it's the thought that counted.
However, fatigue began to set in for Liz at possibly the worst time imaginable. She started to pant in exhaustion as she was stepping ever so closer to her goal, but she could hear Carol gaining on her, with Laurie not too far behind. Just a few steps to the goal, this is when Liz decided to do something cold-blooded.
Liz looked behind her and paused momentarily, before moving back and shoving her shoulder into Carol's side. Safe to say Carol didn't expect this and could only yell out in shock as she flew back right into Laurie, who didn't know what had happened until Carol was an inch from hitting her. Laurie tried to brace for impact, but instead would attempt to put her hands out to catch Carol, which did not exactly work out, and she'd also fall down under the weight and momentum of Carol.
After a brief period of being stunned, Carol sat up, and the first thing she looked at was Laurie, who she knew she accidentally fell against. Laurie though, seemed fine as she got onto her knees, rubbing the right side of her cheek. She'd then look up the hill to try and find Liz, but she was nowhere there, already having vanished over the hill.
With the flag in sight, Liz never did look back and see the final act of carnage she caused, her sole focus being capturing that flag, and capture she did. She'd swipe the flag away from its placeholder and held it high above her as she'd hear a siren-
"AND LIZ GETS HER 4TH POINT AND WINS THE FINAL 3 CHALLENGE!" Chris yelled over the Intercom.
Carol let out a sigh, standing up to her feet and outstretching a hand for Laurie to take. "Sorry for that..." It was odd, she was...adamant in the way her and Liz played up to this point but seeing the way Laurie tried to battle back and how it ended made her feel a bit bad in the end. Even with the word saying she'd continue to work with Liz.
Laurie would shake her head, taking Carol's hand and saying, "Don't apologize, you did what you had to."
Liz's Confessional
"Haha! YES!" Liz shouted in excitement, basking in her own success. She had brought the flag into the confessional with her and held it up for the camera to see clearer. "I already knew some of you were praying that I failed, and some just thought the 3rd Place Curse would come into effect, didn't you? But no." She started to giggle, almost in an insane like manner, "I'm into the Finale, and one step closer to getting that million." After saying that, she would sigh, calmly bringing her arm back down as it looked like she went into a deep thought.
"The question is, was doing all of that worth it?" She'd ask, almost like she was coming down to the earth from whatever glory high she was on. That would change quickly though. "You are damn right it was!" Liz ended up yelling.
"Congrats Liz on your win." Chris announced, walking up to the mound she was stationed on, still holding the flag in the air with a proud smirk. With a key, he'd unshackle the arm connecting Liz and Laurie. "With that, you have secured your place into the Finale." He'd applaud, "Now these two however?" He motioned to Laurie and Carol, both who had just made their way to the top. "We need to figure out which one will be joining you, and which will be out." He'd walk over, unchaining Carol and Laurie next.
"Now sometimes it was challenge based like in the first season. But I can tell you now, It's not." Chris confirmed, "Liz, you'll be deciding which Camper here will be joining you in the Finale."
Liz, still having a grin, opened her mouth to speak, but a hand was brought up to her face just inches from hitting her. "Which! Will be done later at midnight!" Chris stopped her before she could say anything, chuckling as Liz glared at him for ruining her moment slightly. "Until then, think about it." He walked off soon after, leaving the Final 3 on top of the mound.
Laurie held back her desire to sigh before speaking, "Well done Liz."
"Yeah! Good job." Carol added, patting Liz's shoulder before looking over to Laurie. "And Laurie, you're a damn good fighter let me tell you that. I knew you were tough when watching you go against Marshal, and even in that Pyramid Challenge. But facing you first-hand in these challenges gave me a thrill like you wouldn't know!"
Laurie blushed slightly, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly, "I-I wouldn't say I was that good…" She'd mumble.
"Oh, shut uppp." Carol remarked, but in an obvious joking manner. "Maybe you can join me and IIyria sometime after the show for a spar."
"Eh…. Maybe…" Laurie was unsure about it but was hopeful in the back of her mind that she could.
After a bit of awkward standing around, Carol was the first to break the silence.
"Well….what do we do now?" She questioned, as Liz wasn't even bothered and didn't care, and Laurie just shrugged, not knowing what to do either. "Oh!" Carol snapped a finger, seemingly thinking of something on the spot, "I don't think I've ever shown you a comic book Laurie, do you wanna see one? I think you'll enjoy at least one of them."
Laurie thought about it for a second, but just ended up realizing she didn't have much to do around now anyway. "…Why not I guess." Laurie agreed.
"Awesome. And uh…" Right before leaving, she'd look at Liz, wondering what she'll be doing. "Um, you want to join us, Liz?" She decided to ask. Liz shook her head,
"I'm going to be thinking about who to take to the Finale until then." Liz would look up at the sky, noticing it's getting darker just a tad-bit. "I have time."
Carol's heartbeat sped up just slightly, "Oh. Right, you do that…" She'd take Laurie's arm, "C'mon Laurie! I have plenty to show you, beginning with one of many favorites, the Hoffmanator."
Eventually, as Noon turned to Night, as Carol showed Laurie various amounts of Comic Books, ranging from her favorites, as Liz thought about her decision with a pleasant sigh, nearly falling asleep in the process. Not having to worry about possibly being eliminated with her being the sole choice.
Hours pass, with Carol and Laurie looking at the Comic Books, time passing faster than expected for them, and Liz just casually lounging, sort of thinking about who to bring, but not stressing over it too badly.
Their attention was brought to something else when the intercom finally sprung to life.
Elimination Ceremony #18 - MERGE (8)
"Alright Final 3! Hope you weren't planning on going to sleep just yet, as I need all of you to the Docks, pronto!" Chris announced. The Final 3 all glanced at each other,
"Guess this is it." Carol said what all three of them were thinking, neatly putting her comic book to the side.
"Yeah." Laurie would yawn, looking up at Liz, who just let her legs dangle off the bunkbed.
"It is, and I want to say…" Liz dropped down from the Top-Bunk, going over and grabbing both Carol and Laurie's hands, sort of helping them stand up. "I just want to say, both of you played a good game."
"T-Thanks…" Laurie would mumble, not having a clear response to the complement.
"I feel like I could've done better." Carol stated, before stumbling over her words, "I mean-Wow, I sounded like a bit of a downer there didn't I?" She added, chuckling at her own reply, "But thank you Liz."
"Mhm. Now let's go." She let go of their hands, as they began their little journey to the Docks.
Liz almost couldn't believe she was in the Finale. At the start of the season, she could imagine it pretty easily. But actually, being there and getting there was another thing entirely. Especially with things out of her control that could've ended her season like an Injury, or something. But here she is, in the Finale fighting for a million with whoever she decides to bring with her.
Laurie's very pleased with how far she managed to get. Even if her season ended here, she'd still be happy, even though she'd be sad on missing out on that million. She came into the season being pretty shy and meek around mostly everyone. But as it progressed, she broke out of her shell more and more. Her battles with Marshal somewhat sped up that process as well.
Coming into this new season, Carol really didn't know what to expect. After her last season was ended due to...weird circumstance, she was curious on how far she could go in a season that could continue. Turns out, pretty well-
It wasn't that long of a walk, not compared to the Trek of Shame Eliminated Campers get to have the luxury of doing. At the Docks, was of course Chris. Along with him, was Blaineley, and Chef, who was inside of the Helicopter as always.
The Final 3 walked onto the Docks, and stepped up to Chris, who'd pulled Liz forward first, and told Carol and Laurie to move over to the edge.
"So!" Chris began, putting an arm around Liz's neck, though he had to crouch down a bit to do so, which made Liz annoyed just a tiny bit…. actually, it annoyed her a lot, but she didn't want to show it, not now of all times. "Liz, as we established before, you are in the Finale. Now, you're here to decide which one of these two will join you. Simple as that." Chris would briefly explain, stepping back to let Liz do whatever.
"'Kay then. So, either way, this'll be a [Friendship Finale] as some may call it." Liz said as she put up air quotes, just barely hearing Chris's snort of amusement from afar, but would ignore it. "As I said not too long ago, both of you are worthy of being in the Finale, but I'm forced to choose one of you to join me." She'd place her hands onto her hips, "And….." She paused momentarily.
Liz's Confessional
"Now this choice is a bit tough." Liz cupped her hands together, "Both of them are Fighters, so, I'm screwed in that department a bit, and they're physically better than me I'll be honest. But as I just showed, now that I'm in the Finale, I don't care what it takes, but I'm winning it all. Carol? She's been so loyal to me, It's almost adorable, like a golden retriever." She would chuckle a bit to herself, "Get it? The Golden Retriever is more like it."
After a bit of stalling around with her decision, Liz eventually spits it out.

"I choose Carol to join me." She announced, as Laurie deflated instantly, sighing heavily at hearing that. So close, yet so far it was for her. Instead of celebrating, Carol quickly put an arm around Laurie, bringing her closer in for a hug.
"You played great, Laurie." Carol soothed, patting her shoulder as Laurie hugged back.
"I try to believe I did…." She'd mutter. Liz would follow suit, grabbing Laurie's hand and pulling her forward slightly.
"I'm sorry Laurie, you were exceptional." Liz brought Laurie in for a hug as well. "But Carol's been with me through it all the entire time, and-"
Laurie would pat Liz's back instead, "It's fine Liz, you don't have to apologize, I understand." She felt sad enough to cry, but it was a mostly empty feeling Laurie had currently.
"Enough of the hugging already." Chris would glare at the Trio, "We've already done this before, get a move on already." He pointed to the Helicopter, which Chef had already opened prior to Liz choosing.
"Got it.."
This time however, Blaineley would walk with Laurie to the Heli as well and entered before she did.
"I'll be joining you, since I'm supposed to leave now anyway, so I'll be asking you a question or two in the air if you don't mind." Blaineley explained as she took a seat, while Laurie only nodded, stepping onto the Heli next.
"Ahuh." Soon enough, Chef closes the door, and the Helicopter ascends into the sky, off to Playa Des Losers for the last time from the Island. As that happened, Liz walked back over to Carol, and looked up at her.
"Well, Sarah and Jaylyn didn't make it to the Final 4, but we made it to the Finale." Liz stated, making Carol's mind instantly flash back to the Eliminated Vote, in what was said about what Liz did, and what she said herself. What she said was true though, that alliance between them that was made early on in the season did come true. She never thought she'd be the one making it into the Finale though.
"Y-Yeah…Thanks for giving me a chance at the million Liz, at least one of us is guaranteed…to win in our group." Carol said, almost not wanting to finish that statement.
"Liz. Carol." Chris announced, catching their attention as he started a defacto-show closer. "Our 2 Finalists. From Revenge of the Island's Male Only, to Double Down's Female only Finale. It's almost fitting. Our Superhero Carol, and our Supervillan Liz."
Liz rolled her eyes but didn't say anything about the comment. Carol also didn't say anything either but would think over it momentarily.
Liz's Confessional
"Supervillain." Liz almost spats, crossing her arms with a scoff, "If anything, I'm not even evil, I just play the game hard. Sure, betrayal is quote on quote, wrong, and all that stuff. But if you compare me to someone like Heather, or Scott, In Al's words, I'm a Saint." She stifled a laugh, "Speaking of Alejandro, if you compare me to him or Mal, it's not even comparable, they're downright evil, and Mal was on an entirely different level. So, take that villain title with a grain of salt, because I'm not a villain as they say in my normal life. I came here to play for a million, and some would say that isn't an excuse, and others would play differently. In the end, unless you're a Mal, it doesn't matter how you play it, you play to win." Liz took in a deep breath, closing her eyes and appearing to calm down from her tirade.
"I know...I've said some harsh things in person, and in the confessionals." She begun another speech, "I know I acted all innocent while manipulating others. But the way I feel towards all of them are game-related. I can easily find myself being friends with most of the cast if I ever actively kept in touch with them. Sure, I can consider people like Carol a friend. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Carlita or Jaylyn wouldn't want to be, or Sarah too. Because it'd be easier for me to forgive and forget, since I was the one doing the manipulating."
Carol's Confessional
Carol looked conflicted as she entered the booth, "I don't know how I feel with my Best Friend being labeled a Supervillan-Nevermind, It's not that deep! It's not that deep." Carol said with a short sigh, instantly blocking that out of her mind as she wanted to speak about other things. "Me and Liz have been allies in this game the longest, and It's not every day that you see a duo like us pull through and make it to the Finale. I don't…know the full extent of what Liz had done on her side to be labeled that, but I tried to be as fair as possible, while still trying to win. Now I don't know how possible that is to do, but I didn't want to manipulate someone…-" She stopped herself, remembering what she told Max before. "…Which I failed to do." She appeared to be very low-spirited as she realized, "Maybe I wasn't as much of a Hero I thought I was."
As the confessionals ended, it cut-back to what Chris was saying before-hand. "One of you will be the Winner, and the other will be just another sad case of being a Runner Up. Hopefully after this everyone forgets last season-" He'd mumble after, "I sure hope to."
"Chris?" Carol noticed him off mumbling to himself, but she would just be ignored.
"You two get prepared, as this will just be one more of the great Finale's in Total Drama History! Find out who will win in the next episode of!"
"Total! Drama! Double Down!"
The show would fade to white as the tune of drums being smacked around plays its tune.
"Ohhhh welcome back, WELCOME BACK to the two-parter episode of!"
"Blake's Words of Wisdom!"
Pyrotechnics began to fly off the banner hanging above where Blake sat while he pointed to it. Clearly, he was stoked to be back in his own little booth.
"Why is this considered the two-parter if you've already done two in one before?" A feminine voice said off to his right. Blake's face changed from excitement to a more deadpan expression as he sighed at the comment.
"Of course, you'd be the one to ruin my great return." Blake said, the camera panning out to show a group of 4 sitting around Blake.
"It's what I'm here for." Making herself already known before even needing to be introduced, Carlita.
"Thanks." He'd drawl, moving onto better things. "Anyway, you know what I do on this show. I go in depth, and review the Camper that was just Eliminated, and rank how they played their Game. Since they can't be here due to them just being Eliminated, we instead got whoever was their friend, ally, enemy or whatever. And as Carlita said, yes, we did have a two-parter previous to this. But, trust me, this one will be better."
"From right to left, we have! Carlita, Max, Damian, and Brianna!" Blake would introduce, clapping along with the crowd in the background as he said their names.
"I assume you brought me here because of how I was eliminated over him?" Brianna would question, 95% sure that was the only reason why she was even here right now.
"Preeetty much." Blake confirmed, as Brianna rolled her eyes slightly.
"Trust me, I've really gotten over it." She'd lean back in her comfy blue chair, "But it looks like I can't go that long without hearing about it."
"After the show you'll be hearing much more. Also, Carlita." Blake would turn his attention to her. "How does it feel sitting right next to two that ended up betraying you?"
Carlita gave an uncaring shrug, "Considering I'm on the show of someone who ATTEMPTED to betray me, it could be worse."
"Oh right." Blake was a bit surprised at the answer, mostly because yeah, he did forget he tried to do that. "Fair enough. Damian, Max, how's it hanging with you two?"
"Chillin." Damian simply replied. "Last episode was about me, and now I'm actually on the show. Pretty neat."
"Yeah, nothing much with me either really." Max would add, not finding much to speak about at the moment.
"Our first Camper we're going over, is 4th Place, Jared. So close to a podium. The not one, but two-time backstabber."
"That takes skill, considering you couldn't even pull it off once." Carlita commented, as Blake's face would have a brief flash of annoyance run across it.
"In saying that, he'd toss me away to save you. And then he'd go behind your back to eliminate you anyway afterwards, so I don't exactly know what the point of that was." Blake said.
"I don't get it either." Carlita would just shrug.
Damian would be the next to speak, "I think it was just a power-play."
"The words power and play are NOT the words to describe Jared at all. I try not to even put a sentence together with those words and Jared at the same time." Blake would comment. "I'm mostly over him betraying me, but-"
"Yeah right." Carlita would speak over him, but Blake ended up continuing anyway.
"That's the same guy who didn't want to attempt a challenge over mud, and then ended up throwing two allies away that would've easily stuck with him in the later game. If he let me or Carlita over there call the shots instead of him, then just maybe he wouldn't have gotten eliminated in a Camper Vote."
"Mhm. He probably would've gotten eliminated earlier instead." Max said, "You didn't exactly seem like the most trustworthy person back then Blake, and you did basically say yourself there was a chance of you betraying him. So, I don't really fault him for doing that, even in hindsight."
"Speaking of eliminating." Blake would say, slowly turning his attention towards Brianna, who hasn't had an input yet. "Brianna-"
"Here we go..." Brianna mumbled, slowly shaking her head. "Is it what I'm thinking you're about to ask-"
"Chris choosing to eliminate you over Jared." Blake stated, "Something should've changed there, right."
Brianna took a deep breath, not wanting to repeat what she'd been saying ever since that elimination and has been basically forced to every time someone asks. "I shouldn't have even been placed in that situation. And Chris shouldn't have even been the one to decide who goes."
"That's kind of like a flashpoint there." Max stated, "What if Jared was the one eliminated instead? Who knows what happens in the rest of the season."
"Wait, so let me get this straight." Damian spoke up, stopping everyone's thoughts. "Max ended up betraying Carlita later, Jared ends up betraying Carlita later, and Jared beforehand betrays Blake instead. And Laurie has ended up liking Blake more than anybody else. That just seems like one of the most intensive misplays I've ever seen."
"Well, he did end up getting 4th, so it seemed to have worked out for him mostly." Carlita would say.
"He got 4th by hiding behind Damian as the actual players of the game were taking themselves out." He'd then sit back a bit on his sofa, "Know what, speaking about Damian, how about we go to Jared's Social Game first. What the HELL did he do socially besides hide behind the three main points? Those three being, me in the Pre-Merge, Carlita in the Early Merge, and Damian Late Merge. He rarely, if ever talked to people outside his alliance or bubble that he had. In teams, he mostly talked to me since we were chained for some time, and yet when unchained he barely did any planning with anyone else. Then after throwing me away, he went to Carlita, and then hid behind Damian as he was rampaging through the challenges. The only thing he did do nearing the end was try and convince Laurie to work with him...which he didn't even get to try."
"You know, jumping from alliance to alliance is a strategy too, right?" Carlita said.
"It's a terrible one, one that somehow granted him 4th."
Carlita just put her hands up defensively, "I didn't say it was a good strategy, I just said it was A strategy."
"Then in his little farewell message he acts like he was a mastermind or something, someone who's elimination was undeserved. Yet all he did was hide behind people, and then push them off the cliff. In doing so he pissed off the wrong people, which eventually lead to his downfall at the hands of the Eliminated. So, judging by the fact the people who were out voted him off, safe to say he wasn't exactly doing good in the social department, was he? I'll give him a 5/10, he can hide behind the threats as much as he wants, but he didn't do much socially except talk to the threats to try and keep himself safe."
"And for physicality? Well, I think I know where this one will be going." Damian would say, already knowing the fate Blake is going to end up giving him.
"Ah yes, his physical game. Nearly non-existent. Not to the point of Ingrid though, Jared got 2nd in a Merge Challenge, so he's got that going for him. But he did in-fact never attempt one challenge, got last in two Merge challenges, and really save for the one, never looked like he'd actually win. So, with that being said, I'm giving Jared a 2/10."
"Yeesh, I know he betrayed me next, but that's a little low you think?" Carlita said, trying to give some props to Jared. "He was right behind Liz in two of those challenges."
Max would shake her head slightly, disagreeing with the rather low score Jared got. "I never thought I'd see the day where someone would say Sarah had a better performance than Jared, despite Sarah having a double-digit placing. Nothing against her of course! But I'm not sure I agree."
"Well, that's why It's called Blake's Word, not Max's. Jared ends up with a 7/20 for me. Now we need to move on to our next Camper. So why don't you all, besides Damian there, move along to let our next batch of Eliminated people in?"
"Whatever. Peace." Carlita stated, being the first to get up and exit. She would then be followed by Max, and Brianna.
"See ya." Max would wave. Meanwhile Brianna would also wave, but silently exit behind Max.
But entering the station next, Marshal, Khalil, and Clara.
"We've got surprise fan-favorite and Laurie's nemesis, Marshal."
"The ever so clueless, Khalil."
"And then there's Clara." Blake introduced them all as they took a seat around the Sofa.
"Wow, thanks." Is all Clara could find to say, where-as Marshal was smirking.
"You already know I'm the favorite." He'd say, flexing an arm for added effect.
"Apparently this is a thing now." Khalil said.
"What's up Damian." Marshal said, giving him a fist-bump from where he was sitting.
"Nothing much man, just chillin on the show."
"From our 4th, we go onto the podium. Our bronze medalist, Laurie. She really went under a transformation on this show. She went from someone who was almost too shy to really speak up about things, to someone who really shouldn't be trifled with...as Marshal would soon be the first to find out."
"Fun. E." Marshal said off-screen.
"But as she sort of said herself. Laurie wasn't really actively making moves; she was like a... active participator. Someone with a straightforward way of playing the game, getting out the threats. Simply going from one to another like, Carlita to Damian. She never ever tried to manipulate, or plan behind someone's back. She simply was nice to everyone and tried to be peacekeeper basically."
"I don't think there's a single bad thing I could say about Laurie, she really never had any enemies. Well, besides one, one that literally holds a grudge for no real reason." Damian said, glancing at Marshal towards the end of his sentence.
"You tryna say somethin?"
"I'm just saying Laurie played a game in which she made no enemies in, and that takes a really good person to do."
"Or a perfect manipulator." Khalil had his input, "Though Laurie is definitely not someone like that. She was just beat by someone who had an equally simular game."
"And then there's Liz in that mix." Clara said, "I'm pretty sure Laurie vs Carol would've been an honorable Finale no doubt."
"Yeah but, you always need a little controversy."
"More like you do." Khalil commented, as Blake only shrugged.
"Fair statement. Could any of you even remember something negative Laurie did?" Blake would ask. All of them looked pretty lost and they couldn't really even begin to think about anything controversial.
Damian sucked air through his teeth as he said, "Well, I don't know, besides hurt Marshal's ego?" He said, leaning away as Marshal put up a fist in a threating manner- "Whoa hey-" He'd chuckle, "Chill."
"Talk to me that way." Marshal would joke.
"So, nobody has anything on Laurie, correct?" Blake would ask, the four guests all shaking their heads, each of them having a grand total of 0 combined. "Okay then. How about we move onto only the best rivalry this season. The battle of Laurie vs Marshal." He'd grab a remote off the couch, pressing a button to bring down a TV. "We'll have a counter, just to go over who actually won this war."
"Actually, it's Marshal vs Laurie." Marshal corrected.
Damian would then add, "Laurie vs Marshal is the sequel."
(Episode 2)
"WHAT'S UP?!" Marshal yells, jumping down from a tree in-front of them, and Damian is basically forced to drop with him, but doesn't land on his feet...and lands on his chest on the ground. Marshal starts shooting at Khalil and Laurie, and manages to hit Laurie a bunch, and Khalil once before they take cover behind a tree.
1-0 to Marshal.
"Oh yeah, good start there." Marshal hummed.
(Episode 3)
Marshal sauntered to the middle of the ring, as Laurie threw her laptop in the water, most likely permanently stopping it from working again. Marshal smirked,
"Let's see what you got then." He stated, before throwing a right hook at Laurie, who nimbly ducked under it. Before Marshal could even retract his arm, Laurie pushed it up by his elbow, and then nearly kicked his right leg from under him, making him stumble to the side a bit. While Marshal is off-balance, Laurie barely wound-up, and punches Marshal in the chest, completely knocking him over into the water below.
"I feel like that's something that'll become iconic later." Blake added in his commentary.
1-1 Tied.
(Episode 5)
"What do we do?!" Khalil yelled, running just behind Laurie, and actively looking behind him time after time.
"Thinking!" Laurie responded, panting just a bit. Unbeknownst to them though, Khalil and Laurie run past a couple of moving bushes. And just as Damian and Marshal almost reach it-
"Now!" Somebody exclaimed, as Carlita pops out of the bushes, and reaches for Damian.
"Whoa shit!" Damian stumbles as he just barely dodges out of the way from Carlita. Unfortunately for him though, he stumbled right into the other bush, where Clara had her arms outstretched to stop him.
"Damn, so it is guerrilla warfare." Marshal stated, stopping at where mostly everyone jumped out at...Until Max reaches her arm out of the bush, and slaps Marshal's vest. "Aw F-ing F-" Marshal curses in annoyance, as his vest encases him. "I hate this fu- forest." He complained.
"What?" Marshal would complain, not really thinking this was something deserving of a point. "How does this count towards her?"
"By proxy."
1-2 to Laurie.
(Episode 6)
Nothing personal." Blake stated smugly, before getting picked up and tossed down by Marshal.
"S'cuse me." Marshal said sarcastically...Suddenly Laurie jumps on his back, making him stumble. "WHAT THE HELL?!" He yelled.
"Stop doing that to Blake!" Laurie exclaimed, holding onto Marshal.
"I'll help!" Sarah exclaimed in mock-surprise, before shoving Marshal on her own accord, taking Laurie down as-well.
"Neither of you deserved a point, I just thought it was funny."
"Comical." Marshal deadpanned, looking over to see Damian chuckling in his seat.
1-2 to Laurie.
(Episode 7)
"HAHA!" Marshal laughs evilly, almost like a supervillain laugh. "This time!" Marshal stands up on the seat of the Jet-Ski, and Laurie does as-well. "You're going into the water!"
"I am very flattered that you're so determined to beat me!" Laurie yelled back, focus in her eyes.
The Two Jet-Skis get closer, and closer, and CLOSER, before eventually...they're in striking distance.
*WOOSH!*
"WHOA!" Laurie shouted in fear, narrowly ducking a baseball type swing by Marshal. She stumbles a bit afterwards due to the rough waters, but eventually gains her footing thanks to Clara helping, and to see Damian circling around for another try.
"Damn it! I was swinging to take her head off." Marshal growled, swinging his jousting-stick around, switching hands.
"JEEZ!" Clara exclaimed, holding up Laurie.
"You, okay?" Khalil asked, as Laurie straightened up.
"Yeah, they're coming back." Laurie replied, as Khalil does the same turning maneuver Damian did, and it's Round Two. "Thanks Clara."
"You ain't getting away from me this time!" Marshal yelled, charging up a swing like he was up to bat. Laurie doesn't respond this time, and instead just gets into prime jousting-position. The gap in distance closes fast.
"Hmph!" Marshal grunts as he once again tries head-hunting Laurie. Laurie though, instead of jabbing her jousting-stick out, instead ducks down and decides to clip Marshal's legs, making him glide in the air for a millisecond, and then being roughly dragged through the waters for a quick second.
"Uhg, come on Marshal, what the hell are you doing?" Marshal yelled, acting like it wasn't him up there.
"Losing the war, it seems." Blake added.
1-3 to Laurie.
(Episode 7) [2]
"Now remember, aim for the driver." Damian recalled, turning around for another shot.
"I don't have short term memory loss, I can do it" Marshal said with confidence, holding his Jousting-Stick with two hands.
"Good, cuz if you don't, you already know where you're going."
In technically Round 5 of Laurie vs Marshal, it's jousting-time. Laurie once again prepares herself, as Marshal grips his Jousting-Stick in both hands in front of him. Marshal crouches as they get CLOSER...And CLOSER before...Marshal leaps off the Jet-Ski at Khalil! Completely ignoring Laurie.
"WHAT?!" Laurie exclaimed, clearly not expecting him to do that.
"AUGH!" Khalil, who was caught completely off-guard, is Cross-Checked in the face by Marshal, and Marshal being big as hell, takes down Laurie and knocks off Clara as-well.
"AHH!" Clara screeched.
"Yes! There ya go." Marshal would clap, "That's what I'm here to see."
"Let the comeback commence." Damian said.
2-3 to Laurie.
(Episode 7) [3]
"Looks like they're back." Marshal stated, hearing the sound of an engine close by behind them. Once he turns around, it's confirmed.
It's Laurie, who was glaring more than just daggers at Marshal. She had one hand holding her Jousting-Stick, and the other one driving.
"When I get up there, grab any flag you can." Laurie ordered. Khalil and Clara could only nod at her tone of voice.
"Well look at who's back." Marshal said smugly, unfazed by Laurie's determination.
"Tough talk for someone that's already been beaten." Laurie taunted with a smirk, which obviously angered Marshal.
"What was that?!" Marshal shouted back, as Laurie just scoffed at him. "Get me closer Damian." Marshal ordered.
"Now we both know that is a terrible id-" Damian began to say.
"She thinks she's better than me, I'll show her." Marshal continued. "Damian."
Damian sighs, "You need to pick and choose your battles better man." He suggested, before eventually slowing down gradually, to close the distance between Marshal and Laurie...This time though, accidentally a little closer than usual.
"Hope you know-AGH!" Marshal wasn't able to talk shit this time around, as not only Laurie struck first, but it also wasn't even with her Jousting-Stick. No, she uppercut the hell out of him! Marshal wasn't expecting to get, but only did he get hit, he got ROCKED.
"Damn I forgot that shit happened, not going to lie." Marshal facepalmed. He then looked around at the four others sitting around him, noticing the amused/surprised faces they had. Besides Damian, he was there when that happened.
"What are you laughin at Khalil? You got something to say over there?" Marshal would threaten, even though Khalil didn't even chuckle at the video, though he was slightly entertained by it. That kind of all went away though when Marshal pressed him about it.
"Nothing, nothing." Khalil just put his hand up.
"You forgot this happened because she knocked your ass out with that uppercut." Damian stated, and this time he couldn't lean far enough for Marshal to not reach his shoulder, as he'd punch him quick enough this time. "Ow-"
"F- up dummy." Marshal replied.
2-4 to Laurie.
(Episode 8)
Laurie sighed slightly, "Thanks for the advice at-least." She replied. Marshal's now one rope away from Laurie, but instead, stops right there.
"Did you change your mind?" Damian asks.
"Nope." Marshal responded, taking one hand of the rope and shoving Laurie with it.
"Wah!" Laurie exclaimed at the sudden contact, still gripping onto the rope. "Why you..." She grumbled.
"It'd be a lot easier on both of us if you just fell." Marshal stated, once again pushing Laurie, who still held onto rope.
"I suggest you stop." Laurie warned, "Unless you want a real situation on your hands."
Marshal scoffs, "I ain't scared of you."
"You should be!" Sarah shouted off-screen.
"Well, I'm not!" He shouted back, looking at Sarah...tangled in the ropes. "...What-"
"Don't ask." Sarah cut him off.
While Marshal is busy talking with Sarah, Laurie starts to swing a bit like a Lache.
"Always got to be doing something stupid." Marshal continued, "I-TOH-" Marshal is suddenly kicked in the stomach by Laurie, who had spent her time gaining enough momentum to knock his grip off.
It's back to Marshal shaking his head in disappointment, "Marshal going out sad there, how is he losing so much?"
"I don't know, next time I see him I'll ask." Damian would say. But, then 5 seconds later- "Oh, hey Marshal I've got a questi-"
"Shut up." Marshal could only reply and smirk as he did so.
2-5 to Laurie.
(Episode 12)
"Yeah! Get em Damian!" Marshal cheered, realizing Damian just caused that to happen.
"You should really keep your eyes on the opponent." Laurie stated, as Marshal quickly realized the mistake he had just made. *THWACK* Laurie bonks Marshal in the face with enough force to knock him over.
"Shit!" He yelled, before tossing his torch as he was falling at Laurie...She just leaned over slightly to dodge it, looking a bit disinterested at him. "FU-"
"That one ain't even fair, I was distracted by the failure of another." Marshal crossed his arms.
"Only 2 wins out of 8 bro. I didn't even realize Laurie had you that many times." Damian said, finally now realizing just how many times Marshal tried to hunt Laurie down.
"You could've stopped after 6, it would've looked a bit better for you." Clara said.
"I didn't ask for the allegory." Marshal would state, looking bored as he sat back in the chair. "This don't mean nothing."
"The score is 2-5, you going to try and even it now that you have the chances?" Blake asked, though Marshal would stare at him like he was crazy in response.
"Even the score? You think I'd just run up on her and commit assault?" Marshal questioned back, "I only did that during the challenges. I never went into the other team's cabin to hunt for her."
"I mean, you did try to hijack a yacht-" Damian pointed out. "And you did hijack-"
"That-doesn't-matter." Marshal quickly said, talking completely over what Damian was saying. "What I'm saying is I don't run around like a lunatic punching people in the face."
Blake nodded, "What a respectable human being you are."
"I try my best."
"Any who, let's get to the numbers, starting with her Physical Game since it's much easier for me." Blake pressed the remote again, retracting the TV from where it once came. "Physically, Laurie was very good. She's up there in this season, because she will kick your ass, as Marshal found that out plenty of times." Marshal opened his mouth to speak, but Blake would continue on with his segment. "But unfortunately, she ran into a brick wall, its name is Damian. Though she never won a merge challenge, she was definitely in contention most of the time, so I can't deduct anything from that. Laurie was also a big help in team challenges, so as I say that I'll give her a 9/10."
"Mmm." Carlita hummed as her response to that number. Blake's unsure if she disagrees with it though, so he's fortunately not going to push it.
"Pretty fair." Damian couldn't find any reason for her to not be that high.
"Now her Social Game...ehhhh." Blake looked conflicted as he was saying that. "To be fair I'm not completely sure. I don't even think she joined an alliance or anything, she was just nice to everybody, and no one had a real reason to vote her off. Pretty sure she only got two votes the entire game, both of which were just throw-away votes. But as I said before, she never really tried to better her position...possibly maybe because she was never in any bad spots. And-" Blake began to shake his head, legitimately thinking about what to say. "I don't got anything else, she was just too nice to be considered a threat despite how strong she was. So, saying that, I'll give her Social Game 8/10."
"17/20 huh?" Carlita was the first to speak, "Isn't that the highest now?"
"Yep. Hope your feelings aren't hurt now that your game isn't Ranked #1 anymore." Blake would tease, but suddenly switch his entire vocal point on his next sentence. "But It's impressive you were only 1 point short of her, despite having a gap of 6 placements."
"Hm." Hearing that, she didn't make a move to say anything else. She seemed slightly offended before-hand, but really nobody knows unless she makes it obvious.
"Where's my rating huh? You already know I'd be getting 10's all around, Mr. Perfect." Marshal stated, standing up out of his seat to walk off the stage.
"If you did bro, you'd have a negative score." Damian said, walking up after him. Following them away would be Clara and Khalil.
"There's no way I'd be lower than Khalil or Clara-" You could briefly hear him finish his sentence as his voice faded away.
"Oh, don't start that with me-" Apparently, she took offense to that. "There's a reason why I made it further and-"
"Personally, I think-" You wouldn't be able to hear that much of what Khalil was saying, as his voice was gone as well.
And just like that, only Carlita and Blake were left to close out the show. Blake is mostly surprised Carlita didn't up and leave like she did last time; he guesses she's just content with what he said prior.
"And that was our two-parter special that was maybe already done before! Eventually I'll see you in the Finale. But see you next time on!-"
"Total! Drama! Double Down!"
Hit 20k+ Words for no good reason. Really didn't mean/want to, cause I wanted to get a decent episode out despite the stupid wait time. Stuff just got to me and more excuses, but it's here now.
(Laurie's Elmination)
Laurie, Laurie, LAURIE. What can I say besides I am SORRY that she's getting dumped right before the Finale. I knew I was getting her far from the beginning, but just how far? Turns out, she was either Finale material, or 4th. But she really got a middle-ground. But I can't call it middle ground since even the Runner-Up of the season is getting an Alternate Ending, and Laurie won't be shown getting that unfortunately. Laurie was, yes planned to be in the Finale a couple of times. And though saying the Intro showed Carol and Laurie about to spar, and them ending up in the Finale could be cool, or too obvious in some eyes. Eventually I had to pull Laurie out. I'd be gutted if I waited nearly an entire year for a fic to update, just to see my character eliminated right before the Finale, but I'm sorry, I HADD TO CHOOOSE.
I want to say I went through- "Progression" With her, changing the shy/stuttering she had going on to someone not really afraid of speaking up, and or taking something head-on. I'm not sure though, it shows that I'm bad at doing that.
