A few hours later, the school day has finally ended, and Kim was gathering her stuff from her locker and preparing to go home. But then she spotted Jamie, shakily walking through the hallway, feeling lost. Kim couldn't help but feel sorry for her. It sure can be scary being a new kid.
Suddenly, Jamie's books got knocked out of her hands and she fell down as Bonnie bumped into her. "Watch it, freak girl!" Bonnie spat, making Kim growl to herself. "The world's not all about you, you know? So get off your Prozac and get real help!"
Kim truly wanted to make Bonnie bite the dust, but kept her anger to herself while waiting for her to leave. "Hey! Let me help you with those." Kim offered with a gentle smile. Jamie lifted her head up and smiled back as Kim picked up her books. "Don't worry about Bonnie. She's always like that."
Jamie actually stopped shaking for a bit and smiled a bit wider. "Thanks. Not everyone has been nice to me today." she said sadly, putting her head down again. Kim gulped as she stroked Jamie's hair a bit, not wanting to see her get sad and shaky again. Jamie sighed to herself as she got back to her feet.
As Kim watched Jamie turn away from her again, the teen hero knew she needed to find a way to make Jamie feel more welcomed. After all, being a friend is one of the very best things anyone can do.
"Hey, you wanna come over to my house and hang for a bit?" Kim asked with a small smile, allowing Jamie to stop in her tracks.
"I don't know if I can..." Jamie replied, getting shaky again, her voice a near whisper.
What Kim didn't know was that Jamie was hiding a dark and horrifying secret. As much as she wanted to blurt it out to relieve herself of this burden that has haunted her for so long, there would be consequences if she did. So, she had to keep quiet, for her own sake.
"Come on! It'll be fine. My parents have an open door policy when it comes to new friends anyway." Kim smiled, wrapping an arm around Jamie's shoulders. At first, Jamie flinched, but Kim stroked her hair, allowing her nerves to be soothed instantly.
Jamie thought about it, knowing it has been a seriously long time since she's done anything teenaged stuff. The last time was during a pool party with friends from her old school, back in her old town. But now everything has changed for her, and she desperately wanted to break free from the chains that were shackled in her mind.
Still shaking but now smiling, Jamie smiled at Kim. "OK. Why not?" she said, accepting Kim's invitation.
"Spanking!" Kim smiled as they walked out of the school together and to the student parking lot. "You can ride with me in my Sloth." They then approached Kim's high tech car, and the teen hero smirked, wanting to get an excited reaction out of Jamie. "What do you think?"
Jamie smiled and shrugged, not saying a word, concerning Kim. The two hopped in, buckled up, and Kim drove off to her house. But as soon as the Sloth drove off, a black car with a stolen government license plate and a little flag on top slowly drove out of the parking lot and followed the purple car.
"So, where did you move from?" asked Kim, wanting to make small talk with Jamie, hoping she might open up, not even knowing about the black car following her. When Jamie didn't respond again, Kim glanced at her pink backpack that read, 'California Lover'. "California, eh?"
"Yeah. It was nice." Jamie nodded, smiling a bit. "Me and my brother...we had fun there." Kim smiled to herself as Jamie opened up more.
"So, you and your family all packed up and just got here?" Kim asked, but Jamie shook her head.
"I emancipated myself last year." Jamie lied, not wanting to tell her whole dark truth. "Things just got really complicated back home...but I still wanted to finish school. So, I moved into my own place."
Kim gulped, feeling more sympathy for Jamie. She couldn't imagine life at home and with her family getting so messed up that it could drive anyone to the point of wanting to be on their own. It made Kim grateful that she didn't have any problems with her home life. As the Sloth pulled up in front of the house, Kim gave a warm smile and held Jamie's hand.
Without saying a word, Jamie smiled and happily opened her side door, exiting with Kim. They both entered the Possible residence, but right behind Kim's sloth was the black car that has followed them to her house. A few moments after Kim and Jamie entered the house, the car rolled down it's side windows and in the passenger seat was a video camera on a tripod. It was recording everything through the living room windows of the Possible residence, and would give anyone the creeps if the entire block was outside that day.
"Mom, dad! I'm home!" Kim called out, startling Jamie a bit. They then peeked into the kitchen to find her mother, brain surgeon Ann Possible, already home and cooking. As soon as she heard Kim's voice, Ann smiled and wrapped her daughter in a hug, making Jamie's heart melt. "This Jamie. She's new to town."
"Oh that's so sweet of you to make a new friend, Kimmie." Ann smiled proudly.
"It's no big, mom." Kim smiled, trying to remain humble. While the teen hero was talking to her mother, Jamie turned away for a bit to look at her phone. She saw a text message from an unknown number that read, 'What R U doing?'
Jamie was still shaky, but shook her head and ignored the message. She then faced both Possible women and smiled. "It's very nice to be here, Miss Possible. You look very pretty." Jamie said.
"Come on, I'll show you my room." Kim offered with a smile, taking Jamie to the second floor. "It's actually more of an attic, but it's spanking! And I have a balcony where we lounge to get fresh air." Just then, Jamie's phone vibrated, meaning someone was calling her.
"Hold on, my brother's calling. Do you know where your bathroom is?" asked Jamie. Kim smiled and pointed down the hall. Jamie smiled and nodded before quickly walking to it, entering, and locking the door.
Jamie began shaking again as she saw her phone was still vibrating. Even though the number was still unknown, Jamie knew who it was. She answered it. "Where are you?" a deep, low, intimidating voice bellowed out.
She took a deep breath and answered with the utmost confidence in her voice. "Avoiding you for once." Jamie hissed. "Am I not allowed to make a friend and hang out with her for once?!"
"Do I have to remind you of your place?" the voice asked. Jamie tried to shake all of the fear away from her, not even paying attention to the voice calling her. "And the deal you made?"
"I will be back soon." Jamie replied firmly, hanging up and exiting the bathroom, not wanting to think about the call. She then smiled and joined Kim in her attic room. The two red headed teen flopped down on the bed. "It is spanking! You could use a door though."
"Don't I know it?" Kim giggled. "But my parents respect my privacy."
As the two teens smiled and talked, outside in the black car, in the back seat, two masked men, one in a white mask with red stripes, and another one in a menacing black mask, both watched the video from the camera on a laptop, and shook their heads in disappointment.
