Chapter 16: Land Through Time Part III:
So'unga's Might
Tenseiga rattled at Sesshomaru's side, 'I shall wield the So'unga with this arm. And when I do, I shall possess the same power as father.'
Inuyasha held the shaking Tessaiga in his arms,
"Well Tessaiga, looks like you and me are gonna be in a huge battle together."
Luckily, their allies weren't far away.
"Whoa, you guys feel that?!" Riku asked.
"Yeah...it's like the chill of death," Yuffie said, worriedly.
"There's a strong demonic aura," Kagome said.
"Indeed, that must be So'unga's citadel," Totosai said.
"Ugh...and I thought Hollow Bastion was creepy," Sora grimaced.
At the castle, some Heartless appeared and joined the army of zombies.
"Onward!" Takemaru ordered.
"Jeez, zombies AND Heartless?!" asked Yuffie.
"Looks like we're gonna have our work cut out for us," said Terra.
"We know how to deal with Heartless, but the walking dead..." Kairi wondered
"Well, usually you have to destroy a zombie's brain to really kill them," Riku said.
"Not in this case," Saya said. "Only fire can get rid of them."
Axel grinned, "Then I'm your go-to-guy!"
"And most of us know fire magic," Donald added.
"Master Jaken can use the Staff of Two Heads!" Rin added.
"And Shippo can use his Fox Fire," Miroku added.
"Oh, right," Shippo said nervously.
Jaken shook so much; he almost made the ground around him shake.
Then, it started to rain.
"...Of course, it rains," Riku muttered. "Why am I not surprised?"
Suddenly, they heard someone yelling loudly.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome exclaimed.
The half-demon was charging down a hill toward the army of zombies and Heartless. The zombies through dozens of spears at him, but surprisingly, he avoided all of them. He jumped down, drew Tessaiga and started cutting up zombies and Heartless.
"I see him!" Sora called as he watched from the distant. "HEY, INUYASHA! OVER HERE!"
But Inuyasha didn't hear him. He just kept cutting down enemies.
"He might need some help," said Kagome. "Inuyasha can't take that many on his own!"
Almost everyone leapt into action, heading over to aid their half-demon friend. On the other side of the battlefield, Sesshomaru launched an attack from his Tokijin, blowing away a lot of enemies!
"Whoa!" Axel exclaimed. "Did you see that?!"
"Hahahaha!" Jaken laughed. "I'd expect nothing less from Lord Sesshomaru!"
Axel smacked him upside the head,
"Quit boasting about him!"
Kagome fired an arrow, which wiped out a long line of enemies!
Kairi swung her Keyblade, taking out six Shadow Heartless at once. One was about to lunge at her from behind, but she managed to turn around and hit that one with a Thunder spell. Goofy let out a battle cry as he charged, ramming his shield through several Heartless at once. Donald, Aqua and Axel were the main sources of fire magic, incinerating every zombie in their path.
"Hiraikotsu!" Sango exclaimed as she threw her giant boomerang.
"Sacred Sutras!" Miroku threw some sealing charms.
"Foxfire!" Shippo yelled as he shot some foxfire at one of the zombies, but the others soon ganged up on him, causing him to scream as he ran away, but then Kirara charged right through them, roaring angrily.
Inuyasha and Sesshomaru easily tore through zombie after zombie and Heartless after Heartless.
~~~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~~~
Inside the castle, Takemaru waited patiently,
"Even a demon's strength will eventually start to weaken. And when it does, victory will be mine."
That's when he noticed Sora and the others.
"What's this?" he asked. "Some more fools who dare stand against me?"
Sesshomaru used his Dragon Strike to destroy more zombies and Heartless.
Takemaru sensed it,
"Sesshomaru…"
"Takemaru, destroy the Tenseiga," So'unga instructed.
"Understood," Takemaru smiled. "Shattering the Tenseiga should be easy enough."
~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~
One zombie snuck up on Sesshomaru and took Tenseiga from his sash and held it close, as it also held a bomb. It exploded, sending the sword flying away. But Sesshomaru paid it little mind as he continued fighting. Luckily, the Tenseiga had landed near Rin and Jaken, so she retrieved it.
"Lord Sesshomaru's sword!" Rin exclaimed.
A zombie stood over her, but Kagome shot an arrow at it, destroying it. She ran over to Rin, then the mutated Heartless appeared and grabbed the two girls in it's massive hands.
"AAH! Let us go!" Kagome screamed.
"Oh, no!" Kairi cried. "Guys! Kagome and Rin are being kidnapped!"
"What?!" Sora asked as he looked back and saw the Mutant Heartless stumbling away.
"Ugh! What is that thing?!" Riku questioned.
"Kagome, hang on!" Kairi called as she chased after the Mutant Heartless.
"Kairi! Wait!" Mickey shouted. "We don't know what kind of Heartless that is!"
"That Heartless has a demonic aura," Miroku said. "I think So'unga mutated the Heartless it killed!"
"Kagome!" Inuyasha saw her get taken away and chased after her.
"Lord Sesshomaru, help me!" Rin screamed for help.
"Hm?" Sesshomaru looked worried for a brief moment, then ran in the direction of Rin's voice.
Kairi happened to notice that and gasped silently.
'So he does care about her!'
She and Sora chased after Inuyasha.

The Mutant Heartless brought Kagome and Rin to Takemaru's room.
Takemaru sat there, glaring at the two girls with a look of bitterness...no...more like viciousness. A vicious, venomous glare that was barely human.
Soon, the Mutant Heartless walked out, leaving Kagome and Rin, as well as Saya, sitting in front of Takemaru.
"W...who is that?" asked Kagome.
"Takemaru of Setsuna!" Saya exclaimed. "He fought with Master Toga, two hundred years ago."
"Now, this is an interesting surprise," So'unga said.
"So'unga has possessed Takemaru, most unpleasant," Saya muttered.
"Takemaru, these girls are no different from Izayoi," So'unga said.
"...Izayoi?" Takemaru repeated.
"Izayoi...isn't that the name of Inuyasha's mother?" Kagome asked.
"Yes," Saya replied. "Takemaru once held affections for Lady Izayoi...but in a jealous rage, he killed her on the night Inuyasha was born. Lord Toga brought her back to life, however, and then fought Takemaru to the death to ensure that Lady Izayoi and Inuyasha survived."
"Imagine how Inuyasha would react if you killed that girl," So'unga laughed.
Takemaru stood up and approached the two girls.
"Stay back," Kagome warned as she and Rin backed away. "Get away from us!"
Takemaru then pointed So'unga at Kagome's neck, causing her to freeze while Rin cowered behind her.
"You are both Izayoi to me," said Takemaru, his voice steadily rising. "Human women who have an affinity for demons...ARE ALL IZAYOI IN MY EYES!"
'This guy's nuts,' thought Kagome. 'He's totally insane!'

Inuyasha used a Wind Scar to blast some zombies away, then saw Sesshomaru cutting down some more up the stairs.
"Sesshomaru!"
"I'm surprised to see you here," The older demon replied. "You're lucky to be alive."
"Shut up!" Inuyasha shot back as he cut down another zombie.
"Would you two give it a rest for once?!" Kairi exclaimed, incinerating some zombies and Heartless with her Keyblade, which was imbued with fire.
"Seriously, you're like children!" Sora added, cutting down an Armored Knight and Neoshadow.
"And people say that Sora and I used to fight a lot!" Riku shouted as he cut down another Armored Knight.
"Look out! Over there!" Kairi shouted as she pointed to several Heartless that had long claws and horns on their heads. They were even wearing kimonos that were tattered and had the Heartless Emblem on the front.
(A/N: Those Heartless are called Shadow Yokai.)
Inuyasha ran up to his brother, and they stood back-to-back,
"When this is over, we settle things between us for good."
"Assuming you survive that is," Sesshomaru replied.
"Just don't go letting yourself get killed by anyone else," Inuyasha shot back.
"...Is that their way of showing they care?" Sora asked.
"I guess so," Goofy answered.
Inuyasha used the Wind Scar to blow away the zombies that blocked the way to the tower, then Sesshomaru ran past them before they got back up.
"Hey!" Donald exclaimed.
"Why that cheating, gaping asshole!" Axel cursed.
Sora and Kairi jumped across the walls and went after him.

Kagome dodged a swing from Takemaru.
Rin whimpered as she and Kagome ran across the room, trying to stay away from the madman.
"Okay, come and get me!" shouted Kagome as she held up So'unga's sheath.
"What are you gonna do with that?!" asked Saya.
"It can put up a barrier, right?!" asked Kagome.
Takemaru scoffed in mockery, "A rusty old sheath is no help to you."
He swung So'unga at her, but the sheath actually did protect her. The blow did knock her against the wall, though.
Rin stood protectively in front of her,
"How dare you, a real man would never hit a girl like that!"
"Rin...get away...!" Kagome said. "Save yourself!"
"Don't worry," said Rin. "Lord Sesshomaru will come for us! I know he will!"
That's when Takemaru approached the two, holding So'unga over his head, preparing to swing.
"Resign yourselves to death and enter the Netherworld!" he said.
"No, Rin!" Kagome cried.
"DIE!" Takemaru brought down So'unga on them, but it was intercepted!
The Kingdom Key, Destiny's Embrace and Tokijin held back the demonic blade, thanks to Sora, Kairi and Sesshomaru.
"Lord Sesshomaru, Kairi, Sora!" Rin exclaimed happily.
Sesshomaru grunted as he pushed Takemaru back, then stood between him and Kagome and Rin.
"Begone," he said. "Hurry. You'll only be in my way here."
'I guess that's his way of saying "Get to safety quick"!' Kairi thought before she turned to Kagome and Rin. "Come on, you two! Let's get outta here!"
"Lord Sesshomaru, your sword," Rin laid Tenseiga on the floor. And unless Sora, Kairi and Kagome were seeing things; there was a tiny smile on Sesshomaru's face.
With that, the three girls left, but Sora stayed,
"Well I'm staying, whether you like it or not."
"Hmph," Was Sesshomaru's response.
"Very well, boy," Takemaru said. "I'll slice you both in two."
"Bring it on!" Sora shouted.
With that, Takemaru swung So'unga at Sora, who quickly parried the blow before he jumped up and kicked Takemaru in the jaw, causing him to stumble back.
Sesshomaru took that opportunity to charge at him, but Takemaru regained his balance and blocked his attack.
Sesshomaru then realized, "That left arm..."
"Oh, that's right," Takemaru taunted. "It used to be yours, did it not? You want it back?"
"No thanks," Sesshomaru replied, pushing him back, then Sora hit him with his Keyblade.

Inuyasha fell to his knee, panting, "Dammit..."
No matter how many zombies and Heartless he defeated, more kept coming. What's worse, he got hurt by one of them, so he couldn't hold the Tessaiga properly. It looked like he was about to be surrounded.
"HIRAIKOTSU!"
Suddenly, Sango's Hiraikotsu came flying through the air and mowed down the zombies and Heartless in front of Inuyasha, who gaped in shock upon seeing it, and then, a giant shuriken came flying by, destroying the zombies and Heartless behind him!
Miroku, Sango and Shippo flew over, riding on Kirara. The off-worlders weren't far behind them. Miroku threw some sutras at some of the zombies, turning them to ashes.
Axel launched a huge blast of fire, and Riku launched a stream of Dawn fire from his left hand, both flames incinerating zombies and Heartless.
"What are you guys doing here?!" Inuyasha questioned.
"We couldn't wait any longer!" Miroku answered. "So here we are!"
"I didn't ask for any help!" Inuyasha shouted as he cut down more Heartless.
"Come on, don't be so proud!" Shippo yelled as he hit some more zombies with his Foxfire while standing on Kirara's head.
"Stay out of this!" Inuyasha cut some more zombies. "This is none of your business!"
"You're wrong, we're making this our business!" Yuffie argued, throwing kunai and shuriken at some Heartless.
"Besides, friends stick together," Sango told him.
Inuyasha gasped at that, but acted dismissive, "Fine, it's your life."
"Remind me to kick his ass, later," Aqua said.
"Right behind you, "Terra replied.
"Get in line," Axel added.
"That starts behind me," Riku told them.

Sora and Sesshomaru held back Takemaru with their weapons, which was proving to be difficult.
"How does it feel to be killed by your own arm?" Takemaru asked.
"Takemaru, you disappoint me," Sesshomaru said.
"What?" Takemaru questioned.
"You're nothing but So'unga's puppet," Sora continued. "This power isn't your own."
"How dare you," Takemaru hissed, angrily as he kept trying to push Sesshomaru and Sora back.
'...Who is this boy?' thought Sesshomaru as he momentarily glanced at Sora.
Takemaru yelled and knocked their weapons out of their grasps, then swung to take off their heads.
Both of them rolled to the side to avoid it. Instead of going for Tokijin, Sesshomaru grabbed Tenseiga, returned it to his sash, and drew it.
"You should be grateful," he said. "You will be destroyed by my father's fang."
"You're not alone," Sora said, calling his dropped Keyblade back to his hands.
"What?!" Takemaru questioned.

Meanwhile, Kagome, Rin, and Kairi were heading down the stairs.
"Come on, this way!" Kairi called.
"We're coming!" Rin answered.
Kagome headed down a flight of stairs...but then screamed as she ran right back up, and the Mutant Heartless appeared behind her!
Kairi cut its stomach open, but it healed itself.
"What the hell?!"
Outside, Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kirara were becoming fatigued from all the fighting, but the off-worlders were still going strong.
"You guys rest!" Riku called. "We'll handle them!"
"Trust us!" Yuffie added. "We've faced a lot more enemies than this!"
"Inuyasha, go to Kagome!" Aqua told him.
"Hurry!" Terra shouted. "We'll hold things off over here!"
Inuyasha nodded before he ran off.
"Everyone stand back," Miroku said, pulling the beads off his right wrist. "We have a secret weapon!"
"Like what, a black hole in your right hand?" Axel joked.
"Basically, yes," Miroku answered.
"...Wait, really?"
"Miroku, no!" Sango cried as she ran to his side. "You can't!"
"I must, besides, what's the point of having this cursed hand if I can't use it to protect the woman I love?" Miroku said.
Sango got misty eyed, then ran behind him.
Miroku removed the beads and raised his right hand, "WIND TUNNEL!"
Soon, the zombies and Heartless were being sucked up into Miroku's hand.
"Whoa!" Riku exclaimed as he and the others stood behind him. "He's like a human vacuum!"
"But it looks like it hurts him," Goofy added with worry.
"The Wind Tunnel is a curse that Naraku put on Miroku's right hand!" Sango answered. "Eventually, it'll grow bigger and bigger until it swallows him up!"
Miroku grimaced as his hand began to turn pinkish-red.
"Miroku, stop!" Yuffie cried. "Your arm!"
"Rrrgh...!" Miroku growled as he held his arm up, not stopping until every last enemy had disappeared into his hand.
Then, he stopped, and collapsed. Sango ran over and caught him.
Mickey looked at the monk's right hand, it was raw-red. The mouse king cringed at the sight, then pulled out a Hi-Potion,
"This should help with his recovery."
"Oh, Miroku," Sango said, worriedly.
"...Let's hope the others are all right," Riku said as he looked to the castle.

Sora and Sesshomaru both traded blows with Takemaru, their blades constantly clashing.
"What good is a sword that cannot kill?" Takemaru mocked.
"It can't kill humans, but it can kill the living dead," Sesshomaru argued, slicing Takemaru in half.
Takemaru gasped as he collapsed on the floor.
"You got him!" Sora exclaimed...only for So'unga to glow, and then, Takemaru stood back up, his wound disappearing! "...Or not."
"Hmm-hmm..." Takemaru chuckled. "What's the matter? Can't you even kill a corpse?"
'...Where's Inuyasha when you need him?' thought Sora.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kairi was having trouble with the Mutant Heartless; every time she sliced it to pieces, it regenerated.
It punched her back into Kagome, who managed to catch her!
"Kairi, are you okay?!" she asked.
"I think so," Kairi coughed, struggling to stand and clutching her midsection. "Dammit, I think my ribs are busted."
Kagome placed her hand over her Keyblade, making it glow. Kairi then had an idea.
She pointed her weapon at the Mutant Heartless, Kagome still holding it with her. A beam of light shot out from the tip of the blade, straight through the Heartless's chest, making it disintegrate!
"We did it!" Kagome exclaimed.
"Phew..." Kairi sighed in relief. "Finally."
"Kagome!"
Kagome gasped upon hearing Inuyasha's voice.
"You made it!" she exclaimed. "Where are the others?"
"Outside, dealing with the Heartless and zombies," Inuyasha replied. "Where's Sora?"
"He's fighting that guy with Lord Sesshomaru," Rin told him.
"Wait, they're working together?!" Inuyasha questioned in disbelief.
"Yeah, and you have to do the same," Kairi replied. "Only the Tessaiga and Tenseiga working together can destroy So'unga. And Sora's Keyblade can help too; it's a weapon like no other."
"Keh!" Inuyasha scoffed. "As if I'd ever do something like that!"
"Oh, for the love of..." Kagome muttered. "Inuyasha, for god's sake, can't you put your grudge against Sesshomaru aside for just one day?!"
"Look, even if I did, Sesshomaru would never cooperate with me," Inuyasha said.
"Then just try!" Kagome said. "Your brothers, for crying out loud!"
Inuyasha was silent for a minute, "You make it all sound so easy."
Then he ran up the stairs.

Sora rolled to the side and tried to cut Takemaru's back, but he blocked it.
"You surprise me, boy!" He said. "To think that a human would possess such strength."
"I'm a Keyblade Wielder!" Sora shouted. "I'm not like most people!"
"Interesting weapon," Takemaru said. "Unlike your father's fang, Sesshomaru. You disappoint it."
Sesshomaru glared, then jumped away as Inuyasha's Wind Scar blasted Takemaru back!
"About time you got here!" Sora told the half-demon.
"Ah, shaddup," Inuyasha countered. His way of saying "Sorry I'm late".
"Two brothers working together alongside a friend to avenge the death of their father?" Takemaru said. "I guess even demons have feelings."
Inuyasha charged at him, "You're one to talk!"
Their swords clashed and struggled against each other.
"You remind me of Izayoi," Takemaru taunted.
Inuyasha's eyes widened at the mention of his mother's name.
"My Mother...?" he whispered.
"Oh, right..." Sora said. "Myoga said that Toga protected you and Izayoi from Takemaru on the night you were born."
"She abandoned me and fell in love with that despicable creature, and worst of all, she gave birth to you!" Takemaru barked.
Sesshomaru grabbed Tokijin and threw it at Takemaru's head, who ducked to avoid it, then pushed Inuyasha back. Sesshomaru and Sora jumped in and exchanged more blows with So'unga before Inuyasha jumped in, and tried to slice Takemaru in half, but he dodged it.
"Stay out of my way," Sesshomaru growled at his brother.
"No chance!" Inuyasha shot back. "You're not stealing my victory this time!"
A pink barrier suddenly appeared, blocking off Takemaru from Sora, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru.
"Cowering away, huh?!" Inuyasha mocked.
"This isn't my doing!" Takemaru argued.
Then all of a sudden, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru found themselves being pulled back by their ears; left ear for Inuyasha and right ear for Sesshomaru!
"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" Inuyasha cried.
"Rrgh!" Sesshomaru grunted.
"Uh-oh..." Sora muttered as he shrunk back, knowing exactly what was about to happen.
Then they were hit in the head by what felt like two big rocks!
"OW! Dammit, what just hit me?!" He turned around sharply to yell at who or what ever hit him, but backed down when he saw Kairi.
She had a deep, dark scowl on her pretty face; Inuyasha even thought she looked scarier than Kagome!
"WOULD YOU TWO QUIT ACTING LIKE STUBBORN CHILDREN?!" she yelled.
"How dare you address me in such a-" Sesshomaru started.
"Hush up and listen!" yelled Kairi, causing Sesshomaru to shut up. "Now look! You two are brothers, and whether you like it or not, you need to work together, got it?! SO START DOING THAT! I'm not asking you two like each other, cause I know that'll never happen; just put aside your differences for a few minutes and work together! You're already doing it with Sora!"
"Look, So'unga can only be destroyed if the Tessaiga and Tenseiga combined their powers," Sora told them. "So yeah, like it or not, it has to be done. But I'll still be here to back you up."
"So, work together just this once with Sora, then you can go back to hating each other, okay?" Kairi told them.
*sigh* "Fine..." Inuyasha reluctantly conceded.
"...Just this once," Sesshomaru muttered.
"Good," Kairi said, then she let down the barrier.
"Finally," Takemaru said, preparing to launch the Dragon Twister.
"No you don't!" Inuyasha charged at him, along with Sora.
"You don't know when to quit!" Takemaru remarked as the Kingdom Key and Tessaiga locked with So'unga.
"No, I just don't like giving up!" Inuyasha shouted. "There's a difference!"
He and Sora pushed Takemaru back.
"How can they have so much power?!" So'unga wondered in disbelief.
"Because we have people we have to protect!" Sora shouted.
"And when a human has someone they have to protect, their power increases!" Inuyasha added. "I have what it takes thanks to my mother!"
Takemaru gasped, "Izayoi…"
"Let's finish this now, Inuyasha!" Sora shouted.
"Right!" Inuyasha yelled before he and Sora both raised their arms. "WIND SCAR!"
The blasting attack blew Takemaru through the wall, where he hit a demon-tree branch and collapsed.
"Lady Izayoi…" Takemaru lamented, remembering the last thing she said to him.
"Gather all the men and leave the castle at once..."
"Why?"
"For your own safety."
"Takemaru?" asked So'unga. "What's wrong, Takemaru?!"
"...Lady Izayoi..." Takemaru whispered. "She only wanted to protect me...I...I never hated her...I always loved her..."
With that, he disintegrated into dust, leaving only his skeleton.
"It's over," Inuyasha stated.
"I'm not so sure," Sora disagreed.
"You have good instincts," Sesshomaru complimented the key-bearer, as he raised Tenseiga and sliced the little demons away from Takemaru's skeleton.
Suddenly, the whole place began to shake!
"I knew it!" Sora exclaimed.
The pearl in So'unga glowed, then it floated into the air.
"Persistent bastard," Inuyasha muttered.
So'unga flew off as the ceiling began to fall apart!
"Now would be a good time to leave!" Sora ran for the exit, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru not far behind him.
Outside, everyone saw the castle beginning to collapse.
"What's happening?!" asked Yuffie.
"I don't know!" answered Riku.
"LET'S SCEDADDLE!" Goofy yelled.
Everyone began to run down the mountain as the castle collapsed around them!
On top of the castle, So'unga made itself a body...
It looked like a walking, headless suit of armor covered in spikes and it had a giant jewel in the front, like an eyeball. This transformation emerged from blood, and it raised its blade arm into the sky,
"I SHALL OPEN A GATE TO THE NETHER0WORLD!"
Not long after, dark clouds swirled around in the sky. The mountain broke apart and some kind of twisted looking dark tower rose out of the ground!
"Oh no, So'unga's opened the gates to hell!" Saya exclaimed.
"What happens when they're open?" Sango asked.
"The boundary between the living and the dead disappear," Saya answered. "We'll all die!"
"What?!" Shippo questioned. "But I don't wanna die!"
"Hey, there's Kairi!" Donald pointed, as Angel Kairi flew over to them.
"There's a massive army below the tower!" she told them. "What are they?!"
"The dead of the nether-world," Totosai answered.
"They're calling out to the souls of the living," Saya said. "We must get away, or your human souls will be devoured in no time!"
"What about Inuyasha, Sora and Sesshomaru?!" Kagome asked.
"They're still fighting So'unga," Kairi answered.
"Wait, is Lord Sesshomaru actually fighting alongside them?" Rin asked in disbelief.
"Yes, he is," Kairi said proudly. "He had no problem with Sora, but I had to personally knock some sense into him and Inuyasha to get THEM to work together."
"...He's actually fighting with Sesshomaru," Kagome muttered in surprise. "I didn't think I'd live to see the day! What did you even do?!"
"Showed him I meant business," Kairi said.
A powerful wind swirled around the tower, trying to pull everyone towards it!
Shippo and Jaken were almost sucked in, but Terra grabbed them!
"Gotcha!" he shouted.
"Holy hell, look down!" Riku yelled. "What the hell is that?!"
As the group looked down...they could see what looked thousands of unearthly beings down in the gorge that had formed!
"I take it those are the dead of the netherworld?" Mickey asked.
Donald and Goofy shivered in fright.
Sango began to walk toward the edge of the cliff, but Miroku grabbed her wrist,
"Sango, be strong or your soul will be devoured."
"...Thank you, Miroku," she whispered.
'...What happened to her that was so bad that she'd wanna walk right over the edge?!' thought Yuffie as she looked at Sango, worriedly.
"Everyone, gather around me," Saya said.
Kagome placed his sheath in the ground, and he created a dome shaped barrier. Soon, everyone was breathing a little bit easier.
"Man...it felt like something heavy was on my chest!" Axel said, panting heavily.
"Look!" Aqua pointed.
At the top of the tower, Inuyasha, Sora and Sesshomaru were fighting So'unga, but despite the fact that they were fighting together, they were at a huge disadvantage.
"Sora!" Donald and Goofy cried.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome called out. "What do we do?!"
"I don't know!" Riku answered. "If we leave this barrier, we'll only be more susceptible to the pull of the netherworld!"
"That includes me too!" Terra said.
Sesshomaru's Tokijin was damaged, then So'unga unleashed a Dragon Twister that blew him, Sora and Inuyasha away!
"That attack seemed weaker," Totosai noticed.
"That's because Tessaiga and Tenseiga are so close," Saya said.
So'unga laughed as the trio panted, "I'm impressed you've lasted this long, boy. Especially with the netherworld pulling at your soul, but it's over! You and your friends will be sent to the netherworld."
"I'll never give up!" Sora shouted back.
"What he said!" Inuyasha added. "We have someone to protect, that's we'll never give up!"
Sesshomaru looked at them both, 'Someone...to protect?'
The last thing his father had asked him, "Have you someone to protect?"
Sesshomaru thought of Rin and Jaken. He'd never admit it out loud, but in some way, he did protect them. Was that what his father meant?
So'unga unleashed a more powerful Dragon Twister at the trio, intent on finishing them!
"No you don't!" Inuyasha raised Tessaiga and swung downward, unleashing a twister like attack. "BACKLASH WAVE!"
Sora created an orange orb of energy at the tip of his Keyblade, then fired it, causing it to disperse into dozens of smaller balls of energy! "IMPACT!"
Sesshomaru drew Tenseiga, which glowed blue, and swung it, unleashing a surge of blue lightning, "DRAGON STRIKE!"
The two attacks combined with the Backlash Wave, and overpowered the Dragon Twister!
"WHAT?!" So'unga questioned as the two combined attacks when straight for it!
"GOOOOOOOOOOO!" Sora yelled...and soon, So'unga was completely obliterated into nothing!
"We did it!" Inuyasha exclaimed.
The triple combination attack went into the sky and began suck up all the dark clouds.
Sora, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru jumped away from the tower and headed back to the others.
"Sora!" Kairi exclaimed as she ran up and hugged him, relieved that he was all right.
"You did it!" Shippo exclaimed.
"Of course we did!" Inuyasha barked.
The twister sucked up all the demons from the netherworld and took them back underground. The sky was now back to normal, and the tower began to collapse.
"...It's over..." Riku said before sighing relief. "Thank God..."
"Look!" Mickey pointed at a falling light.
It was So'unga, back in its regular sword form, along with Sesshomaru's left arm. As it fell to the smoke, it released a blinding light. At first, everyone shielded their eyes...but as Sesshomaru turned around, he gasped in shock as he recognized the figure standing in the light.
"...Father...?!"
That's right: it was the Great Dog General, Toga. He looked like a regular man, only he had pointy ears and dark skin. His silvery hair was tied up in a ponytail and he had on spiky samurai armor.
"The Master!" Myoga, Saya, and Totosai exclaimed as they stood at attention.
"They said 'Master'," said Inuyasha, "So...that means...!"
Everyone else gasped in astonishment.
"Sesshomaru, Inuyasha," Toga's spirit said. "You have finally found the answer. You have ensured that So'unga will be sealed forever in the netherworld. I have nothing more to teach you."
"Father!" Inuyasha called. "Wait!"
Toga stopped in his tracks before he turned to his younger son.
"...I always wanted to know," Inuyasha began, "did you...did you really love me?"
A pause...but then Toga smiled as he put his hand on Inuyasha's shoulder.
"Of course," he said. "I loved you and your Mother more than life itself. I was worried for a while, Inuyasha...but now, seeing how much you've grown...I'm so proud of you...and your Mother would be, too."
Inuyasha didn't say anything...even though he wanted to.
"...Take care of your friends...and the girl you love," Toga said...before he vanished.
Inuyasha tried very hard to hold back his tears, Kagome placed her hand on his shoulder.
"The master believed in his sons, and knew they would find a solution," Myoga said.
"It was said that So'unga would open the gates to hell," said Totosai. "But thanks to the combined attacks of Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga, the gate to hell had been closed."
"Keh," Inuyasha scoffed. "Talk about nerve."
"Ridiculous," Sesshomaru dismissed, then turned to leave.
"Hey Sesshomaru?" Sora stopped him. "Thanks for the help."
Sesshomaru turned and nodded to him, then walked away, Rin and Jaken running after him.
"Did he just acknowledge you?" Shippo questioned in disbelief.
"I...guess so," said Sora.
"...Hey...what's up there in the sky?" asked Sango as she pointed up at the sky to something sparkling, and as everyone got a closer look, they saw that it was a Keyhole!
"That's peculiar," said Miroku.
Mickey pointed his Keyblade at it, then a beam of light shot out from the tip to the Keyhole. There was the sound of something locking and a bright flash of light before it disappeared.
"Another Keyhole locked," he said.
"I guess this means it's time go," Sora said.
"What?!" Kagome asked. "You're leaving?!"
"Yeah, we gotta go," Kairi answered, "But we'll be back, one day to visit!"
"Thanks for your help!" Shippo exclaimed. "You're all awesome!"
"Good luck out there," Miroku said.
"Safe travels," Sango added.
"Yeah...thanks for everything," Inuyasha managed to say.
That's when Sora noticed something: Inuyasha was wearing the beads again.
"Hey...you've got your necklace back on," he mentioned. "I thought you didn't need it anymore."
"...I just feel better with it on, that's all," Inuyasha replied as he looked to Kagome, who smiled at him, causing him to smile back.
Kairi giggled a little at them.
"You two try to get along, okay?" she asked, causing them both to blush.
The extra bit of Toga speaking to Inuyasha was Fang's idea, but I liked it.
Also, I changed that Sesshomaru flat out denied that he had no one to protect, especially when he knew that wasn't true. So, I changed that! He doesn't admit it out loud, but he admits it to himself.
