Sorry it has Been a while, I wrote this chapter and forgot to upload it and now I'm busy but I'll try and keep writing- and remembering to upload the chapters. Anyway hope you enjoy.

Erin felt utterly ridiculous. A white shirt then a kind of tartan pinafore dress. With shorts underneath as per Trudy's idea. She still didn't feel completely comfortable but it had lessened her anxiety to a point where she could function. She'd been to the school the previous day to talk to the teachers and take a test to see where she was at. But she hadn't worn the ridiculous uniform until today. Yesterday Erin and Camille were told, 'we think placing you with your peers as a freshman would be best, Erin, if you're willing to work hard to catch up." Erin was happy they weren't keeping her back even though she had missed a whole bunch of middle school.

She'd met her homeroom teacher Miss Alverton the previous day and had liked her. She was young and seemed pretty down to earth. "Okay class, I home you all had a great Christmas, Hanukkah or just enjoyed your time off. This is Erin and she's new to the school." The teacher said introducing Erin to the class. "Erin, why don't you go and take the seat next to Stephanie." The teacher indicated a girl with long blonde hair. "I'm sure she can help you find your way around and get settled in." The teacher smiled and Erin thanked her and went to sit with Stephanie. She was tall with perfectly straight hughlighted hair. She looked like she'd come straight from the salon. Her nails had a French manicure that looked professional, against Erin's that she's picked down to the quick, a habit she had whenever she was anxious. Stephanie was wearing expensive fashionable jewellery, while Erin had a hair tie around her wrist. Erin looked around the room. All the girls looked sophisticated while she just looked like a normal 14 year old (or someone even younger considering she was so short.) "How was your winter break?" Stephanie asked Erin. "Nice, relaxing, stayed home a lot. Saw friends and family. You know, normal stuff." Erin said. Not that she knew what a normal winter break was but assumed it was somthing like what had happened with the Voighs "You?"

"Oh we went to Courchevel. I'm a bit mad at daddy because I prefer Alpe D'huez." Stephanie started. "Courch..what?" Erin asked.

"Courchevel...you know...the French alps?"

"You went to France?" Erin asked. "Yes. we always go skiing for winter break. I mean Lake Tahoe and Aspen are nice, but nothing beats the true French alps, don't you think?"

"I don't ski actually. I've never been." Erin admitted. "Oh you must go. It's so fun and exhilarating. Like I said, the resorts in this country are all well and good, but the European alps are miles better." Stephanie smiled. "I mean I love Europe in general. London..Rome..Barcelona...Brussels. A lot of people like Paris but I think it's a little overrated. Yes, Notre Dame and of course the Eiffel Tower are nice but Brussels is far nicer in my opinion. I mean beach wise I prefer the Caribbean of course. But for City vacays, Europe is the place." Stephanie continued. Erin was glad when it was time to go to the next class, she was worried Stephanie would start asking her where she'd been on vacation, when she'd never left the city, let alone been to Europe.

The rest of the girls she met on her first day were similar spoiled brats. "Daddy took us to the Bahamas for some winter sun but I missed my pony so much."

"We went to stay with my grandma, it was awful, I had to share a bathroom with my sister."

"My Christmas was okay...I mean I got the purse and designer clothes I wanted but my brother ruined it mom and dad got him a Ford since he totalled his Porche last month but he got super mad because he wanted another Porche."

"Mom only got me the diamond necklace, I asked for the earrings too"

She decided the girls at St Ignatius weren't exactly friend material so decided to just focus on her classes. Most teachers spoke to her about what they had done so far and what she'd need to do to catch up. Erin's intelligent, just missed a lot of school. She had full faith in her own ability to catch up.

One thing she was proud of though, was with the lack of boys (there were a couple male teachers but that was all) she had felt okay in her dress. It had only been one day, and she was wearing shorts underneath but anxiety wise she was coping. That was a win for sure.

"How was your first day? Did you make any friends?" Camille asked as Erin climbed into the car. Camille had agreed to pick up Erin from school since it was her first week. "Every single girl in that school is a spoiled airhead." Erin complained. "I heard one girl complaining because her parents refused to let her and her boyfriend fly first class to their family condo in Hawaii. And another one talking about how much she hated staying on the yacht for Christmas because there wasn't much room for presents. I mean seriously Camille, I've never even left Illinois!"

"You've probably just not found the right people yet. St Ignatius gives out a lot of scholarships for academics, music, sport even drama I think. I'm sure you'll find some friends who's parents don't own an island, but if not befriend those kids and get some free vacations." Camille smiled cheekily. "And maybe we can take you someplace on spring break since you've never left Illinois. It won't be a yacht or Hawaii but maybe somewhere on the east coast? That might be fun."

"Hmmm." Erin mused "a vacation would be fun but I've got to spend months in this millionaire bubble first."

"Honey, it's only been one day. You'll find your people. Give it a chance okay."

"Okay."
