Jade smiles as she sits in her seat, watching Peter lift her bag into the overhead carrier before sitting down next to her. His hand hesitantly slips into hers, their fingers entwining with one another as Ned and Anna pass by to sit in the seats behind them.

"Ned, you owe me 10 bucks," Anna said, holding her hand out to him as she noticed her friend.

"What?" Jade asks, glancing at Peter before looking to her friend.

"We had a bet on when you'd get together. I had hope and bet before the vacation ended. Ned wasn't so confident," Anna explained, and they looked at Ned who avoided their gaze.

"But very happy it happened," he told the two, smiling awkwardly before hurrying Anna to their seats. Jade glanced at Peter who shrugged his shoulders, smiling as Jade leant her head against his shoulder and he rests his own atop hers.

"You fancy watching a film?" Peter asks, and he feels Jade shake her head slightly.

"I just want to sit like this with you," she told him, and Peter grins, especially as Brad looks over in their direction and pouts.

"About Brad-"

"Just because he's now five years older, doesn't mean I don't still see him as that annoying kid who cried all the time," Jade cuts him off, smiling as Peter laughs.

"That's the right answer," he says.

"But we do need to talk about how you nearly killed him," she adds, and Peter groans, before telling her why it nearly happened, until the two fell asleep.

They arrive at New Jersey airport several hours later, the two hiding their grins as Peter laced his hand through hers.

"Are you sure no one else has figured it out? I wasn't exactly discreet as I wanted to be," Peter asks, and Jade shakes her head, glancing at him.

"Yeah, it's not like anybody really pays attention to you," Jade answers.

"Ouch," Peter says, and Jade smiles.

"Except for me," Jade points out, and Peter squeezes her hand.

"Aww. Thanks," Peter says.

"You guys are so cute," Anna calls, her and Ned walking over to them.

"Thanks," Jade said, smiling as she glanced at Peter.

"I was thinking we should all go on a double date or something," Peter suggested, and Ned nodded.

"Yeah, that would be amazing," Ned says, and Anna nods in agreement.

"Come on babe, your mum is waiting," Anna said, the two saying their goodbyes before meeting Ned's mum at the exit.

"Did you see those two coming?" Peter asks, as they walk slowly to the exit.

"Anna has been into Ned since the first time we sat with you in the cafeteria," Jade tells him, laughing when she sees how surprised Peter is with that information.

"When did you like me?" he asks after a moment, the two stepping outside.

"Hmm. Probably when Anna pretended to have seen Spiderman save a squirrel in the park, and you spoke to me rather than asking her questions about it. Obviously I know why now, but I thought it was the sweetest thing. No one except mum and Anna had ever cared about me like that," Jade told him, and he blushed as she smiled.

"May!" Peter shouts, the two seeing May talking to a security guy.

"Don't give me a ticket!" she asks the person, hurrying to the two teenagers before hugging Peter tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay," she says, moving back from Peter before hugging Jade tightly.

"No, for real, I'm good. I'm actually really fine," Peter said, and May grinned excitedly as Peter's hand found Jade's.

"Happy owes me money," May said, laughing as Jade blushed while Peter gave his aunt a look. "Let's go. Where are your bags Peter? Oh, right. They got blown up," May said, the three walking to the car.

"Yeah," Peter laughs.

"I got you hot buttered bagels," May told him, handing him a bag.

"Thank you so much," Peter says.

"I know my boy. And his girlfriend," May says, Jade blushing as Peter squeezes her hand, the two climbing into the back seat as May drives the two home. They walk up to their apartments, May giving walking ahead upstairs to her and Peter's apartment, the two teens stood near the stairs.

"So tomorrow at 1?" Jade asks.

"Yeah," Peter says.

"Don't be late," she teases, smiling as Peter leans forward to kiss her, watching as she enters her apartment before going into his.

Sally smiled as she stood behind her daughter, curling her hair as she sat doing her make-up. "I'm so happy for you, sweetheart. Peter is such a lovely boy," she said, and Jade blushed.

"Thanks, mum. You won't wait up and interrogate me on how it went, will you?" Jade asked, glancing as Mark leant against the doorframe.

"I'll make sure she doesn't, Jade, don't worry," Mark said, and Jade smiled gratefully. Jade sighed, breathing out as she finished her make-up as her mum finished her hair.

"Can you fasten this for me?" Jade asked, holding the necklace up. Her mum glanced at it, smiling softly just as the door sounded.

"I'll get it," Mark said, noticing the glance Sally sent him and shutting the door so they had privacy. Jade turned around, moving her curled hair to the side as her mum fastened the necklace, straightening it when Jade faced her.

"Do you miss him?" Jade asked quietly, seeing how her mum's fingers hesitated over the flower.

"Everyday," Sally whispered, smiling as she looked at her daughter. "You're so like him, Jade," she tells her, and Jade smiles. "Do you think he would be mad at me?" she asks after a moment. They look at the door, hearing Mark and Peter chatting in the living room.

"Dad would want you to be happy, mum. If you had to choose anyone, he would be glad it was Mark," Jade assured her mum, pulling her in for a hug. Sally smiled, holding her for a moment before stepping back, wiping her eyes.

"Come on, Peter is waiting," Sally said, laughing as Jade blushed before the two left her room. Jade looked up to see Peter and Mark stood talking, the two looking over as she and her mum approached them.

"Jade, you look beautiful," Peter said, Jade smiling as he blushed. "Not that you don't always look-I mean-"

"Thanks, Peter. I know what you meant," Jade said, smiling as she slipped her hand into his, squeezing it reassuringly.

"Be home before 10," Sally told them, and Peter nodded as the two left. They paused as the door shut, the two glancing at one another.

"So, where are we going?" Jade asked, and Peter grinned.

"Well, I wanted to do something a little special," he told her. "Close your eyes," he instructed. She looked at him in confusion, but closed them anyway. Peter picks her up, laughing as she squeals.

"Don't you dare drop me," Jade says, burying her head close to his chest as Peter begins walking.

"I promised you, I'd never let you fall," he reminded, smiling as her hands tighten around his neck at the comment. He continues walking, kicking a door open and putting her back on her feet. "Ok, just a few more-okay. Open your eyes," he tells her, smiling as they widen when they see what's in front of them.

"Oh, Peter," she whispers, glancing at him and leaning up to kiss him. Peter smiles when they break apart, their faces still close together before they walked over to the little table Peter had placed on the roof, equipped with candles and food, along with some cushions and throw on the floor beside it.

"May helped me get the stuff, but I knew how I wanted it to look. If it's too plain, we can go out somewhere-"

"This is perfect," she told him, smiling as he blushed, pulling her chair out for her as she sat before taking his own seat next to hers.

They ate in-between talking, until they moved to the cushions spread out on the floor, snuggling beneath the throw. The two faced one another, Peter's arm draped over her waist as Jade played with his hair.

"You're wearing the necklace," Peter says, smiling as he notices it.

"Of course. How on earth did you afford it?" she asks.

"I kind of sold my Star Wars figures to make the money," he told her, and she felt her heart beat a little quicker.

"You did that for me?" she asks quietly, and he nods. She moves closer, his hand on her waist tightening as she lifts her head, their lips meeting in a gentle and sweet kiss. "Thank you," she whispers, resting her head on his chest as he wraps his other arm around her shoulder.

"Does it feel weird? Being like this?" he asks after a moment.

"It's something different, for sure, being like this. But it feels so right, that I'm only annoyed we didn't do this ages ago," she answers, and smiles as Peter kisses the top of the head.

"Me too," he whispers. Jade pauses before she speaks again.

"Is it really like that all the time? When you fight the bad guy? Is it always that…life-threatening?" Peter's arm tightened around her.

"You were scared," he says, and Jade nods her head.

"I mean, I knew you were fighting to protect us, but we nearly died," she says, looking up as he moves them so they're facing one another again, their noses brushing each other's.

"I won't let anything happen to you. Ever," he promised, and she smiles, caressing his cheek.

"I know. I worry that there isn't anyone to look after you out there," she says, and he smirks.

"You offering to help me fight crime?" he teases, and she smiles.

"It isn't a bad idea," she answers, laughing before he kisses her.
