An actual chapter? Pretty crazy right? I've been busy mostly and I won't bore anyone with details. I've also looked further into scaling for dragon ball and found some neat stuff regarding how strength can resist a lot of stuff in the series, whether I have to tweak some stuff about Tensura remains to be seen. Recently saw some stuff for light novel Rimuru and stuff goes real crazy so hopefully I can balance stuff out if I ever get there.

The next week flew by in a flash for Axel. He spent the week helping out with the road building and training with his new staff. He had a few training sessions with Hakurou as well. Within the week, the sheath for his staff was made and lined with some of the extra ore to keep it sturdy. It was a simple leather sheath/strap and lined with the silver ischrós ore. Probably the weirdest thing to happen within the week was his tail growing back! Truth be told, Axel didn't even notice the tail grow back until Kaijin pointed it out while they were working on the roads.

But this gave the saiyan an idea when he got home that night 'Maybe I should try and control the ape form? I have no clue how to make an artificial moon, but at least I'll be able to not go wild and attack my friends. Hell. Maybe I can even harness it in my base form?' But that would take time in order to truly master.

So what was our resident saiyan doing at the moment? He was sitting cross legged on a bench staring very heavily at a mug of water.

"I don't think the waters gonna kill you" Kaijin's voice snapped Axel out of a supposed trance.

Kaijin then sat across from Axel on the bench. They were currently resting off to the side of their current construction site with a few of the Orcs who were also resting and having their lunch break. Kaijin was wearing a short sleeve white shirt that had patches of dirt on it, black work pants and brown shoes. Axel wore a similar outfit, only his shirt was a white tank top.

"I'm actually training"

"Training by staring at a mug of water?" The dwarf raised a brow.

"Yuuup" Axel popped the p while staring at the mug again.

"Just what are ye trying to-" Kaijin was cut short as a vein appeared on Axel's temple. The mug on the table started to wobble as a droplet of water rose from the mug for a brief moment. The droplet barely managed to stay in the air for a second before it plopped back into the mug.

Axel huffed before wiping a bead of sweat off his forehead "Almost had it!" He snapped his finger.

"Since when could you do that?" Kaijin was surprised and curious.

"I guess I could always do it" Axel shrugged "just a matter of learning and practicing it".

"I thought you told me before that you don't use magic?"

"I don't" the saiyan confirmed "I'm trying to… force my energy on to the water? It's a little hard to explain but I can basically replicate telekinesis. I could learn telepathy and mind reading but that's wayyyyyy beyond me right now".

"Huh… can you do anything else?"

"Umm" Axel hummed in thought for a moment "I guess I can kind of use paralysis by forcing my energy to hold someone down or generate a sort of lightning that can stun people. Then again, I've only heard of a guy who's over a hundred years old learn this stuff".

"You learn something new every day I guess" Kaijin took a swig from his mug. The two were taken out of their conversation by someone approaching.

"Excuse me Axel?" Axel turned to see Haruna approaching "your outfits are ready".

"Really? Awesome!" Axel jumped up "I'll go wash up and head over to the shop!"

"I'll see you there" Haruna bowed her head before walking away.

Axel then downed the rest of his water before giving a two finger salute to Kaijin while slowly ascending into the air "Catch you later Kaijin!" The dwarf waved as the saiyan left.

After being bathed and putting on a set of clothes that didn't reek of sweat, Axel made his way over to Shuna's shop. A large grin adorned his face upon entering.

"Helloooo ladies!" He greeted with a smile.

"Hello to you too" Shuna greeted with a kind smile.

"I hear all my clothes are done?"

"You heard right" Shuna nodded before grabbing a large box from the floor and placing it on a table. "It's all in this box" she gestured to said box "did you want to try them on here?"

"Nah. I think I'll go try em on at home. Don't want to bother you two" he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small sac of coins and handing them to Shuna. "I know it ain't too much. But I got some money from the roads and that's what I had left for trading in some monster parts a while back".

"Any amount for right now is fine" Haruna said "you've been helping a lot around the area and have done a lot for us".

"I ain't gonna argue with you there" Axel picked up the box before walking to the exit. "I'll probably stick around for another day or two, if anything happens to the clothes, I'll make sure to bring em here".

Both girls waved goodbye at Axel before he flew at a decently fast pace towards his home. The place itself looked like a classic log cabin. It wasn't a massive home or anything but it had a front and back door. He landed by a small set of steps that lead onto the small front balcony and opened the door. The house was open concept with a small living room to the left of the entrance that had a couch, a few chairs and a table. A few steps away from the living room was the kitchen and on the right side of the room were two doors. One leading to his bedroom and the other to the bathroom. There were no spare rooms since he lived by himself after all.

After walking into his room, he placed the box on his double sized bed before opening the box. His room wasn't really decorated and only had his bed, a small desk, closet and a dresser. A window was on the left side of the room letting a fair amount of light into the room.

The first thing within the box he pulled out was a long dark brown duster coat. He tried the coat on to see if it fit and it did. He smiled to himself while looking in a mirror he had in the room.

"This'll be nice for cold and windy days" Axel said to himself while taking it off and placing it on the bed.

The next set of items were a few pairs of form fitting black shirts and loose black pants that were a part of his soon to be travelling outfit. He placed a set of them on before pulling out the black kung fu shoes with blue bandage like things around his shins that went along with the outfit. Along with a flowing red vest, blue belt and blue arm bands. After placing everything on, Axel looked into the mirror and started to look at himself from a few angles.

"Nice and form fitting. Got a lot of motion in my shoulders and legs which is nice. And looking stylish" he grinned at the end.

Axel stripped himself of the outfit before pulling out his training/day to day outfit. First up was the blue gi shirt that fit fairly loose around him which showed off his arms and part of his chest since there was no undershirt. While he didn't necessarily need a belt, it came with a white cloth belt to hold up the yellow pants. The last part was a few pairs of shoes similar to his other outfit, only the bandages/cloth on them was white. A few punches and kicks were thrown in the air to test out how this outfit felt.

"Man. Those two really outdid themselves with these!" Axel was brought out of his musings by a knock on his door. "Who is it!?" He called out from his bedroom.

"It's me!" The high pitched voice of Rimuru was heard from the front door.

"Come on in! It's open!" Axel called out quickly folding up his clothes.

The front door opened "pardon the intrusion" Rimuru muttered out of habit before walking in to the living room, in his human form with a blue shirt and white pants, just as Axel left his room. "That the stuff Shuna was working on for you?"

"Yea. It's pretty nice huh?" Axel pulled at the shirt a few times. "Did you uh… want something to drink?"

"If you don't mind. A tea would be nice"

"Cool I think I got some. Just have a seat on the couch" Axel then walked off towards the kitchen.

The air was a little awkward while Axel prepared some tea. He hadn't really talked to Rimuru since he asked him to take credit for the Orc Disaster. They exchanged a few words over the past few days but nothing substantial. And it wasn't until Axel put some tea in front of them, did their conversations start.

"So…" Rimuru took a sip "you're going to be heading out again soon right?"

"Yea" Axel sighed leaning into the couch "I was thinking of heading to the place where Kaval and his team was from. Blumund I believe? Seemed like a good place to start that would definitely have a place I can register as a bounty hunter".

"That's not a bad idea. Could always do mercenary work too if there's no bounty's or something".

"Probably be better to make a name for myself first I guess"

"Speaking of that" Rimuru took a more serious tone "have you thought about what I asked?"

"A decent bit yeah…" a sigh escaped his lips "It feels weird to take the credit for something I didn't do. I know now that I could probably fight and beat Geld at my current power so I'd be good on that front… Are you sure there isn't anyone else?"

"Considering everyone else in this village is classified as a 'monster' then there isn't anyone. While you're technically not human. You're more human than most, at least appearance wise".

"I guess so" the room was quiet for a moment. 'Should I really take the credit? I understand that having a 'monster' be the one to beat the Orc Disaster would cause problems for Rimuru now that he's an ambassador of the forest and is legitimately starting his own city. But I didn't actually accomplish it myself… I really do owe him a lot though…'

Axel continued to think hard with his eyes closed for a few minutes. Eventually he looked Rimuru in the eyes and nodded "Alright. I'll do it".

"And you're sure?" Rimuru asked again.

"As sure as I can be right now"

Rimuru let out a sigh of relief as an invisible weight was lifted off his shoulders. "It means a lot. Thank you".

"Let's just say it makes us even" Axel smiled a bit offering his hand "as long as I got a place to call home and a trusted friend to watch my back".

"Guess I can say the same to you" he shook the offered hand.

"There is one thing I wanted to ask you" Axel said after breaking the handshake.

"What is it?"

"It's been awhile since the last full moon right?"

"Been almost a month yeah. Next full moon should be tonight I think. Why do you ask?"

Axel unfurled his tail and waved it around "My tail grew back a few days ago".

Rimuru widened his eyes momentarily "Took a while".

"Guess it's gonna be inconsistent. Hopefully I don't have to cut it off again soon. Never know when it'll stop growing back".

"Was there something you wanted to do about it?"

Axel nodded "I want to learn to control it" he said firmly.

"You know that's probably gonna be pretty tough though right?"

"Yea I get that. But I want to gain at least a modicum of control so I don't go literal ape shit if I transform".

"And how are you gonna test that?" The slime tilted his head.

"I was thinking of a way recently" he started "I should familiarize myself with what transforming feels like. That way I can meditate on my own time to try and tap into that power. If I can do that…"

"Then you could get a large power boost in your base form while giving you a better idea on how it feels to let your instincts take over without losing yourself" Rimuru finished.

"A little too many words but yeah" Axel nodded "I could lose control if I try to harness the power in my base. But I can use it as a last resort if I'm in big trouble".

"So you just want to stare at the moon until you get an idea on how it feels?"

"Basically yeah. If you're with me, then you can knock me out if I lose control when trying to resist the transformation".

"That's gonna be pretty dangerous"

"I know it's going to be dangerous. But you're strong enough to knock me out or put me to sleep with magic or something. As long as I don't actively try to resist".

"Well I guess that's what we'll have to do" Rimuru sighed then stood up "I gotta get back to work. Head over to my office just before sundown and we'll go into the forest".

"Sounds good to me" Axel stood as well and walked with Rimuru to the door "I'll just get some training done in the meantime. Trying to work on my Ki control".

"See you in a few hours" Rimuru waved bye.

.

.

Sundown came within the next few hours. After meeting Rimuru at his office when everyone was going home for the night, the two left towards the forest after dinner. Axel did change into a random white shirt and black pants so he didn't ruin his new clothes. The moon wasn't fully in the sky yet so they mostly just talked about how Axel was training his Ki to be used for more things like telekinesis. But once the moon did start to rise into the night sky, Axel kept his back turned to discuss the plan.

"I'm already starting to feel funny so I'll make this quick" Axel took a breath before looking at Rimuru who was now wearing a blue coat. "I'm going to look directly at the moon. I'll try my hardest to resist the transformation so I know what it feels like. If I at any point attack you or stop responding, put me to sleep or knock me out. Got it?"

"You can count on me" Rimuru nodded with seriousness "Can't have you blowing up the whole Forrest".

"Alright let's do this" Axel took a few deep breaths before turning around to look right at the moon. A haze of clouds was around the moon but slowly dissipated as he looked to it.

Almost immediately he felt his breath catch in his throat. A bubbling feeling started to rise within his gut as his heart rate started to rise. He was doing his best to try and control the feeling. But doing so took almost every ounce of concentration he had. His senses seemed to dull yet enhance at the same time. He could feel and hear the sound of his heart trying to leap out from his chest with every passing second. His heartbeat was even audible to Rimuru who watched with trepidation. Sweat started to roll down Axel's face as he started to pant. Almost as if he ran a marathon.

"You still with me?" Rimuru quietly asked. It took Axel a good few seconds before a pained grunt escaped that somewhat sounded like a yes.

Rimuru nodded from behind and continued to observe as Axel started to hunch over. His eyes were flashing between pink and gold separately. The sound of stretching fabric was heard as he started to grow. A primal growl escaped his lips as his eyes slowly started to go white and his canines became more pronounced. His shirt and pants started to rip and hair started to grow all over his body.

Rimuru moved to beside Axel but remained a few steps away "You still in there?" This time no intelligent response was given. By now Axel was starting to completely tear his clothes apart and wasn't giving any form of intelligent response. But he wasn't attacking Rimuru so he didn't really know if he should end this.

"Well he said if he couldn't respond…" Rimuru muttered before extending his hand and sending out a cloud of magical dust at Axel.

His nose twitched a few times before his snarls slowly started to subside and his teeth became more normal. Good thing his clothes weren't completely destroyed and he mostly looked as if he got mauled by a bear. After his hair and such receded, he swayed on his feet before falling face first into the ground.

"Hopefully that was enough…"

Axel awoke the next morning in his bed just as the sun started to rise. His head felt foggy and he couldn't really comprehend what was going on.

"Ugh… feels like a hangover" he groaned while sitting up. After observing his surrounding he could see that he was in his bed. He looked down at himself to see the tatters he was left in. "Guess Rimuru had to stop it pretty quick. I think I remember the start…" Axel mumbled before lightly shaking his head "won't know until I take the time to meditate".

With a huff of effort, he sat up and removed his blanket before getting off the bed. He felt sticky as he got up 'must've been sweating pretty bad last night'. After taking a quick bath, Axel got dressed in his new travelling black, red and blue outfit. After strapping his staff sheath to his body, as well as sheathing his staff. He prepared a backpack with a few things he was going to need. A set of his new casual clothes, his coat and some camping supplies.

After having a nice and hearty breakfast, he left his house and flew over to where he sensed Rimuru at the moment. By now the sun was high in the sky and people were walking the streets. He waved at a few people as he flew over the streets but didn't stop anywhere. Once the saiyan landed at the main hall, he went in and over to Rimuru's office. Within no time at all he was in the office with Rimuru himself who was sitting on his desk in slime form with Shion at his side.

"So you're heading out now huh?" The slime asked.

"Yup. Thought I'd say bye before I left. I'll be back within at least a month for some more training with my transformation" Axel's tail unfurled and wiggled before wrapping back around his waist and under his belt.

"I wish you luck then. I'll slowly start spreading the word about what we agreed on".

"You do what you gotta do" Axel shrugged in response before glancing at Shion. "I still gotta have that fight with you when I get back. So be prepared for that" he grinned at the end.

"I'll be sure to be prepared. Just don't slack off" Shion shot back with a grin of her own.

"Gettin feisty now are we" the saiyan chuckled before turning around. "If something real bad happens, send me a letter or something. I'm sure Souei could find me".

After saying goodbye, he left the building and took off in the direction of Blumund. It was actually fairly close to the Jura Forest. Axel looked at a map when flying to see that it was to the west and bordered on the Farmas Kingdom, the various western states and the Jura Forest itself. It only took a few hours to fly to Blumund so it wasn't even too far into the afternoon when he arrived to the capital city gates. Upon landing a fair bit away from the capital, a line of people could be seen trying to enter the walls. There were people in carts, travelling civilians and even adventurers who were waiting to gain entry. At least from what he could tell. Axel didn't want to cause a scene by flying right up to the line or flying straight into the city. So he took his time in walking up to the line from a good distance away. No one seemed to notice him flying earlier and no one really said anything when he stood in line. It took almost half an hour for him to finally get to the front of the line.

"Alright move along" a guard waved the person in front of him then looked at Axel. "Papers or identification?" the guard asked.

Axel scratched his chin "don't actually have any papers… I was looking to register as a bounty hunter?"

"Another person looking to seek their riches eh?"

"Mostly just for something to do"

"Hunting people and things is 'just something to do'?"

"Well when you put it like that it sounds bad"

The guard sighed "You'll have to register at the local law office near the centre of the city. And to get a background check done on you to prove you're not a criminal".

"Sounds simple enough"

"We'll be keeping a close eye on you until then so don't try anything funny alright?"

"You got it" Axel gave a thumb up and smile. With that, he was allowed entry into the city.

While Rimuru's place wasn't exactly a dump, especially now, this place seemed to be thriving. All of the people had smiles on their faces without a care in the world, the streets were paved with stone and the buildings were also made of stone and wood. Overall it was a very nice site to see in the sense that it was a fully built place. He did see a few people with animal traits like cat ears but there were very few from what he could see. Along the way to get registered he passed by a large five story building the got his attention. It simply had a sign that said 'Blumund Free Guild'. The building itself looked semi modern in a way with its design and the amount windows on it.

'Thought these things were usually just called 'adventurers guild' or something' Axel thought while looking at it.

"Well would you look who it is!" a familiar voice caused Axel to turn his head to see three people approaching. The voice belonging to a guy with dirty blond hair and blue armour. "It's been a few months hasn't it?"

"Kaval" Axel nodded with a smile and offering a hand to shake.

"Don't forget about us!" Eren pouted jokingly.

"Don't worry I haven't" Axel chuckled before nodding to the two others "Eren, Gido".

"How's everything going back with Rimuru?" Eren asked.

"Pretty darn good actually. We got a work force made up of a bunch of Orcs, shops and even roads are being built".

"Whoa really?" Gido was surprised "I knew things were going fast with him but not that fast".

"Those are some fancy threads you're wearing" Kaval looked at Axel's outfit.

"Heck yeah it is. Girl named Shuna runs a shop with one of the goblins and they make a lot of clothes".

"Well it's good to know everything's alright over there" Kaval said with a smile "we were planning on visiting soon to see Shizu's grave again"

"I can promise you that Rimuru has been making sure it is taken care of"

"That's good to hear" Eren smiled.

"What even brings you all the way out here?" Kaval asked.

"I was looking to register as a bounty hunter when I decided to look at the guild here"

"Really? A bounty hunter?" Gido asked confused.

"Why is that bad?" Axel tilted his head.

"I mean it's not bad…" Gido trailed off.

"It's kind of a dying profession nowadays" Kaval finished.

"Really?" this surprised Axel.

"I wouldn't say it's 'dying' per say" Gido continued "But becoming a member of the Free Guild, you basically get easier access to cities".

"What do you mean easier?" Axel questioned.

Eren answered "Mostly because you can move countries easier and get through borders faster especially if there's a guild set up there".

"Other than having to pay taxes and stuff. There's a lot more money to be made normally since people are eager to hire us to kill demons and stuff. Mostly since bounty hunters and mercenaries can be offered less" Kaval said.

"Isn't there strict rules?"

"Not really" Kaval shook his head "I guess the only thing better about being a mercenary/bounty hunter is that you're not really loyal to anything, plus you wouldn't be drafted or something like that. And maybe taking on more difficult jobs without having to raise your rank higher".

"I definitely like the sound of that" Axel liked the benefits.

"If you're not in it for money and are just looking for thrills then that's fine I guess" Kaval shrugged.

"How about this" Eren approached Axel "You join us on a quest or two to get some money and then you can get yourself a licence".

"You do realize I'm the leader and should be making offers right?" Kaval sweat dropped a bit.

"What are you against it?" Eren put her hands on her hips.

"No no no I'm fine with it" Kaval waved his hands "just joking around".

"What do you say then?" Eren looked back.

"Hmm…" Axel hummed with a hand on his chin "Does it cost a lot of money to register as a bounty hunter?"

"Since you're getting a licence for life somewhat. With a guild you can always 'retire' if you want" Gido responded.

"Well there's no harm in joining you guys for a bit" Axel shrugged "You got yourselves a temporary party member".

"Alright!" Eren fist pumped the air "Let's pick out a quest and you can just follow us! We'll split the reward so you can buy a licence" she marched over towards the guild with the boys following behind.

"You know…" Axel whispered to Kaval and Gido "This kind of makes me think that she's the party leader" he grinned while Gido just laughed and Kaval pouted.

The quartet all entered the guild together and immediately made their way towards a quest board. There were three counters all separate from each other within the guild. One had a plate that read 'Sales Counter', which had two separate small counters for the general populace and one for adventurers, all with bags and items to sell. There was an 'adventurer's counter' and a 'general counter' which the party was heading for the quest board a little ways off from said counters.

"So what kind of quests do you guys typically do?" Axel asked with crossed arms while observing the board.

"We mostly just take on scouting mission" Kaval shrugged "I'd like to say we got some of the best teamwork around, so it's a massive help"

"No monster slaying?"

"You remember how everything went with those giant bugs when we first met?" Gido sweat dropped a bit.

"Haha, I do" Axel chuckled.

"That just means with you coming along, you can smack things like that up for us" Eren joked.

"Well how about this one?" Axel grabbed a request "Some lady here is looking for a company of adventurers to find and explore some weird sounding ancient ruin".

"Let me take a look" Kaval grabbed the sheet while the other two looked over his shoulder. "It's a few days walk from here and it's just to scout it out…"

"It does fit our usual type of quest style" Gido rubbed his chin.

"Says payment to be discussed upon arrival but, but there is a minimum payment of one hundred bronze coins and fifty silver ones".

"That's kinda low for a minimum though isn't it?" Kaval questioned "Must not be too dangerous"

"Is that really not a lot?" Axel tilted his head.

Gido scratched his head "Usually high value potions cost about thirty silver and the average wage for people is maybe seven silver, just to give you an idea. But for fifty as a bare minimum with a hundred bronze split between four of us…"

"I see what you're saying" Axel nodded.

"But it says right here" Eren pointed to a spot "that the payment will be discussed upon arrival. So do you guys think it's the usual 'you find something you get more money' kind of thing? Or that the harder it becomes, the more reward we get?"

"Guess there'd only be one way to find out" Kaval hummed "what do you all say?"

"I say we should do it" Gido shrugged "Only a few days away so it shouldn't tax our supplies too heavily. Plus there's always the chance of some rare artefact we can get a lot of money for"

"I second that" Eren agreed.

"I guess we all agree" Axel smirked "Now let's go explore some ruins!"

Sorry for the short chapter but I've been hella busy recently with not much motivation to write. The next chapter will probably take a while, especially if I decide to update my other stories.
