-flamonator04- thanks and yeah I got tired of stories where Subaru is always powerless and it's kinda why I began to lose interest in a lot of stories that start with Subaru being extremely strong and he ends ups for some reason being powerless like in hollowsong16's king of pride. don't get me wrong it's a good story but the whole premise he sets up, in the beginning, is Subaru is smarter and has an ability that makes him stronger only for him to not use them and is forced to flee the country. like not something I was expecting from reading arcs 1 and 2. anyway sorry I was going on a rant but thanks your words give me the drive I need to feel like people are actually enjoying my story. and don't worry the deal with the witch will be important later.

Beatrice could only stare at the broken window in shock. Had Subaru really just tackled the man out of a window. she blinked a couple more times before movement caught her attention. It seemed Felix had gotten past his shock, and began making his way toward the conference room. She decided to follow him.

"Crusch-sama! Subaru-Kun has lost it!"

BOOM!

Felix's panicked shout mixed with the massive explosion they all heard seemed to drive the point across. Both Crusch and Anastasia began to run toward the colosseum.

"Felix, what happened?"

A now crying Felix began to explain what happened.

"I don't know Crusch-sama. everything was normal Subaru was antagonizing Julius. Then Julis brought her up and he just went ballistic. He charged and slammed both himself and Julius through the window."

Running down 2 flights of stairs they managed to come across the viewing area to the colosseum. They were stopped when a strong gust of wind pushed them back. The wind came from Subaru as he seemed to teleport around the colosseum. Julius seam to barely parry Subarus attacks as they came faster than the eye could see. Subaru managed to get behind Julius faster than he could react. They watched in slow-motion as Subaru swung his blade toward Julius' side.

FWOOSHHHHH.

SZZZZ.

BOOOOOOOM!

Before the blade could make contact a ball of fire struck the blade near the hilt knocking it off course and causing Subaru to lose balance. Julius took the opportunity it gave him to press the attack. Now, the roles were reversed with Julius showing his incredible speed as he continued to swing at Subaru. After dodging he tried to block but when the blades connected his sword snapped with the force.

only Crusch and Felix could see the smile on Julius' face when Subaru's blade snapped.

"Damn they're both going for the kill."

Felix cursed and Beatrice could only watch as she felt a sinking feeling in her stomach increase with each dodge. The feeling only increased further when Julius began to bring his other elemental spirits out. she was forced to watch as every time Subarus would try to counter a spirit would force him to dodge or block. then while back peddling Subaru tripped.

She and Crusch's eyes widened when Julius' blade came down on his head. Everyone held their breath as the blade inched closer and closer to his face.

"UL DUMO!'

Suddenly massive ice spikes erupted from Subaru's body until he was encased in a sphere of ice with spikes jutting out.

Julius looked on in mild surprise not expecting Subaru to use that kind of magic. Julius' eyes widened as the ice ball explodes sending sharp spikes everywhere. From the center, Subaru rushed out. He and Julius clashed blades. all around the arena, the two moved and to the onlookers, it was just a blur of motion as Subaru and Julius were on equal footing.

Then Julius pushed back Subaru before his blade began to glow.

"Clarista."

Julius slashed at Subaru and he was engulfed in a massive explosion. Everyone stared at the massive cloud of dust that was kicked up. Some hoped Subaru would get up, others waited to see if that would be the end."

"Out of the millions of loops I've made, not a single one of them was ended by you."

"BANG!"

Julius fell to his knees. Subaru had shot him in the left thigh. Forceing Julius to kneel.

"And I don't ever plan on having to change that!"

From the cloud, Subaru dashed forward. Having sacrificed the rest of his blade to parry the strongest attack Julius could muster, Subaru instead used the blade on his forearm to slash at Julius' neck.

"CLINK!"

There Rinehart stood dragon blade drawn in defense of Julius. he stared down at Subaru in disappointment and worry.

"That's enough Subaru!"

Subarus's eyes widened. pulling back his arm blade he inspected it before it crumbled to pieces. he sighed, he knew that it would be a pain to get his coat to be re-fitted with the blade. shaking his head he past Reinhart. and as Reinhart stared at Subarus back the crowd began to murmur.

"oh my god, what just happened."

"I thought for sure one was gonna die."

"wait so who won."

"you idiot Subaru was gonna win."

"Hay, did you see that the legends say that the dragon blade could only be drawn on a worthy opponent."

"Does that mean he is worthy?"

Subaru got up and rushed past Reinhart and out of the palace. Beatrice quickly ran after him while Crusch had to stay as the meeting was still ongoing.

As Subaru walked throughout the street he felt exhausted. Turning into an alleyway Subaru slid down the wall.

"Just need a little rest."

"That's an understatement, I suppose."

Looking up Subaru Saw Beatrice. she was frowning.

"Oh hey... just give me a sec."

Huffing Beatrice sat down next to him. As they sat down in silence Beatrice could only stare as she felt his emotions. And while anger constantly stirred in him Beatrice usually felt it like embers from a fire. Every once and a while there would be a spark and a small flame but only today had she felt the full force of the inferno that lay within him.

"Who Was She?"

"Who?"

"Your wife, I suppose."

Subaru stayed quiet and Beatrice felt as if she might have been too insensitive.

"She was the nicest person you could ever meet."

Subaru rummaged through his pocket and pulled out a locket. Opening the locket Subaru showed her a picture of himself in the arms of his wife, Subaru seemed to be carrying her on his back. They looked happy in the picture Subaru wore an all-black shirt with black dress pants. his wife was wearing an orange shirt with a black skirt. she was smiling as Subaru was making goofy faces.

"A kind soul. She was a teacher and a good one too. The kids love her and she, in turn, loved them."

He chuckled.

"She was the adventures type too. Could never stay still for long."

She wanted to as what happened but before she could they were interrupted.

"Well looky here boys we got a dead one."

At the other side of the alleyway, three men stood, one was tall another was short and the last one was big and fat.

Beatrice made to get up but was stopped as Subaru held her down. He pulled out that strange tube-shaped metia. Pointing it right at the fat one Subaru pushed something on top and a clicking sound was heard.

"Hey, fatso you willing to risk that arm."

They sat in silence then the tall one began to laugh. Soon he was joined by the other two friends.

"HA HA HA OH OD that was the laugh I ne-"

BOOM

Beatrice jumped at the loud noise everybody stared at Subaru who currently held the smoking gun. Then they looked at the fat one and saw his arm. He had a hole in his arm. He began to scream in pain while clutching his arm. The other two looked back at Subaru in fear while he began to get up.

"You see fellas I'm usually a very patient guy but right now I'm pissed, and unless you feel like losing more limbs. I suggest you three Stooges run because I'm about this close to shoving your spine up your ass if you don't get out of my face!"

They quickly ran while assuring the fat one they would fix his arms. Huffing Subaru began to walk forward. Before the could go too far into the alleyway he was stopped by a tug on his coat. Turning back he saw Beatrice looking concerned.

"What's the matter?"

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm ok."

"You are not. I suppose."

Subaru shook his head.

"Come on let's go to a place I know is perfect for relaxing."

Beatrice followed Subaru as he took her deep into the slums. Along the way, Beatrice saw a fountain, however, she felt large amounts of mana concentrate there. When she asked Subaru he told her he would show her later. Then they arrived at some old shack. He walked up the stairs and knocked on the door roughly.

"Oi! Old man opens up I'm here for a drink."

Stepping back Subaru and Beatrice waited in silence for a few minutes then when nothing happened Subaru walked up to the door and kicked it in.

"Oi! Old man I'm here."

Beatrice barely saw the ball of energy that slammed into Subaru.

"Hey, big bro how've things been?"

Beatrice watched as Subaru set down the girl.

"Don't big bro me, why didn't you open the door."

Felt looked confused.

"You were knocking couldn't tell. You must be getting weak in your old age."

"Hey, I'm not even in my thirties yet. What gives?"

"Your age is what's given."

Subaru shook his head then before he could respond they heard a knock.

"Excuse me sir rom is lady left here."

It was Reinhart. Looking at felt he saw her shake her head. Sending her to the back Subaru told her to stay hidden.

"Say I'm heading back to the manor already Subaru."

Nodding Beatrice watched as Subaru opened the door.

"Hey buddy, how've things been."

"All good however I'm currently looking for felt, have you seen her."

"Yeah, she told me she was heading back to the manor."

Reinhart stopped before staring at Subaru. Beatrice could feel the tension rising. Did he know Subaru was lying? Looking at the confused glint in his eye he couldn't be sure.

"Hey buddy, something the matter?"

"No um so yeah bye I'll be going now."

Reinhart closed the door and everybody waited in silence. Then felt just burst out of the back.

"Whoa, big bro how did you do that."

Beatrice was so confused about what was the big deal.

"Well, it's really easy to fool someone who doesn't expect wordplay or deception."

"What do you mean I suppose."

"Reinhart had the divine protection of wind reading."

Beatrice's eyes widened. Subaru lied strate to his face and he couldn't tell. now with both of them staring at Subaru, he pulled out a black box.

"With this dampener, his diving protection of seeking shouldn't be able to find her. he's gonna have trouble finding Felt. Meaning as long as felt doesn't leave my field Reinhart not gonna be able to find her."

"Wait what do you mean by dampener. I suppose."

"Well by using a clever mixture of yin spells divine protections become weaker near me."

"Why would you need something like that!"

"Well in the event of a witch cultist attacking I have a way for me to even the playing field."

Subaru shrugged like it was pretty obvious.

"Well, I'll make it up to Reinhart by escorting you home later."

Felt pouted as Subaru motioned for them to leave the loot house. They walked towards the fountain near a bridge that was by rom's place. Walking up to the fountain Beatrice could see a small crater that looked too smooth to be natural.

Placing a brownish-yellow crystal in the crater Beatrice watched in amazement as the fountain opened up revealing some type of series of gears. It had three prongs holding up a red crystal the size of a man's head in it. Beatrice saw strange glowing patterns running throughout the metia's arms and down into the ground. The symbols were glowing dimly until Subaru pulled a lever which released the massive crystal and stopped the symbols from glowing.

Subaru gave Felt the big fire crystal and Beatrice realized this was the fountain she sensed large amounts of mana coming from.

"That's been the cause of the large amount of mana in this area. I suppose."

Subaru smirked then after he inserted an equally large fire crystal into the metia he turned to the two.

"Well yeah, you need a large amount of mana to start up the fireworks."

"But how. I wonder. Most naturally formed crystals are only about the size of a fist."

"Well as I've said before I've made them myself."

Felt and Beatrice's eyes widened in shock.

"Yeah using my knowledge of how crystals are formed. I was able to create a way to form magic crystals artificially."

Then he twisted a nozzle and the crystal began to glow brighter than before. Standing back everyone watched as the geares under the three prongs holding up the crystal began to move. They would rotate clockwise before they came to a stop with a metallic bang. Then rotated counterclockwise and repeated the same process over and over again all while spreading up.

The crystal continued to grow in luminosity and temperature. Then with a swirling noise, it shot a beam into the sky. When the beam ended a massive explosion appeared in the sky, however, what amazed Beatrice and felt was how the explosion was a brilliant mixture of green, blue, and even purple.

The smaller but equally as beautiful explosions that came after the big one helped enhance the beauty of the night sky. Subaru as he looked at the wonder in Beatrice's eyes couldn't help but feel his heart pick up in speed. Clutching his chest wondered if he was having a heart attack. Shaking his head Subaru just checked it up to his body acting out. looking at the girl's happiness he wondered what she would have thought about his firework maker.

Once the last explosion faded away Subaru lead felt back to the Astrea estate. While walking home Beatrice broke the silence.

"Why did you make that metia. was that part of a weapon. I suppose."

"Ha no not really, I was asked if I could set these up after a noble saw me testing them out. There are about fifty in the capital alone and another 50 that surround the capital in a ring-like fashion."

"Did the noble like them after you set them up."

"No um... he passed away after they were built and he couldn't see the metia in action."

With the mood soured again they continued in silence.

Upon arriving Subaru handed felt to Reinhard and went back to the Crusch's manner. It was well late into the night when they arrived. subaru slept on the couch while Beatrice got the bed. They slept unaware of just how fast things would begin to move.

well, this is all folks um yeah not much to write besides how long it took. um didn't expect it to take three weeks to write this chapter but it did. and yeah please tell me what you think and imma go ahead and work on the blood-borne chapter and then work on a project that is going to be released pretty soon prob gonna take a month or less but pretty soon I'm gonna release a new story that I'm hoping yall will enjoy.

1. I was planning on pushing Subaru and Beatrice's bonding moments back to the next arc however I decided otherwise in favor for give their relationship more depth

2. I originally planned on doing that whole looping rbd deal but decided against it as I feel like so many fanfictions already do enough of that. and I wanted to focus on pushing the story forward instead of spending 20 chapters just on loops alone.
