"Come on, kids. We gotta get going." Anakin called from downstairs.

Gabby was working on her letter to Santa. Now that she was old enough to remember the stories and could write, she was excited to send her very first letter to Santa with her wish. At first, before she had a brother, she was so nervous and unsure how she would decide what she wanted. But, with the situation at hand, she knew exactly what to write.

She wrote:

Dear Santa,

My name is Gabriella Skywalker, and this is my very first letter I'm writing to you.

Earlier this year, my parents adopted a boy named Boba Fett and he's my big brother now.

I know you know who's been good or bad, and Boba did make some mistakes before, but he's

been really good since he first came home. He's been an amazing big brother, and a great friend,

and deserves to have a great first Life Day with us. I don't know what he really wants for Life Day,

and sure, I could be asking for a bunch of toys and stuff like other kids,

but what I want more than anything in the entire galaxy is for my big brother Boba to have the best gift ever.

The gift that will make his first Life Day one he'll never forget, that when we look back on it together, we smile and grow

closer.

Love, Gabby Skywalker

"Coming, Daddy." Gabby called, putting her letter in her backpack and heading downstairs.

Boba, on the other hand, had written plenty of letters before, but he never really got the gifts he always wanted that he asked for every year until a few months ago. He'd gotten a mom and a little sister.

Now that he finally had a mom and younger sibling to celebrate Life Day with... he wasn't sure what to ask for. But, he decided to write a letter anyway.

Dear Santa,

My name is Boba Skywalker, though you probably still have me written as Boba Fett. I know earlier this year, I did some

pretty bad stuff. Trying to get revenge, almost getting people killed, and not realizing the error of my ways at first. But I

regret all that big time, and I've done my best to be very good this year, especially since I got a new family. I listen to my

parents, I take care of my sister, and I try to clean my room as much as possible. It's my

first without my birth father, so it's kind of hard for me, but I'm still going to have a great holiday with the family I have

now. I don't really know what I want for Life Day this year, but my little sister Gabby really deserves a great gift.

She's the whole reason I was able to become a better person, and I love her so much for it. She makes everyone

around her so happy, and she believed in me when no one else would. So, if you can give her an amazing gift that makes

her happy this year, it would really make my Life Day.

Sincerely, Boba Fett-Skywalker

Boba put his letter into his bag and headed downstairs to meet the rest of the family so they could catch their ride to Naboo.

The Skywalker kids were so excited when they arrived at their grandparents' home.

"Mom. Dad. Happy Life Day." Padme smiled, hugging her parents.

"Happy Life Day, Beautiful." Ruwee said.

"Where are our angels?" Jobal said.

"Here, Grandma!" Gabby exclaimed.

Gabby ran right into her grandmother's arms and received lots of kisses.

"I'm here too." Boba said, amid that he was also smothered with kisses.

"It's been too long, children." said Jobal. "Come on inside, all of you."

Carousella and Remix were brought to the backyard so they could run and stretch their legs while the kids were shown to their rooms.

Inside the house, Anakin saw a decoration sitting on one of the tables, and decided to get himself a little Life Day treat from his wife.

"Oh, Padme." Anakin sang, holding up a stick.

Padme turned around to see Anakin holding a stick with mistletoe hanging from it.

"Ani, do we have to do this every second of the day?" Padme shook her head.

"You know the rules. Gotta kiss me." Anakin teased, waiting for his wife to kiss him.

Padme rolled her eyes and just kissed him. When it came to mistletoe and just kisses in general, especially now that their marriage was publicly known, there was no swaying Anakin.

The Naberrie home was decorated so beautifully too. There were green garlands, red ribbons, and beautiful red flowers all around, and a tree with lights and colorful balls on it. The only thing it was missing was a star on top.

"How have the children been?" Ruwee asked Anakin.

"They've been pretty great." Anakin said. "The kids have bonded very nicely at home. Gabby has someone to play with when Padme and I are busy, Boba's settled in well, and he's already made some friends."

But, Ruwee had one concern.

"Isn't this year Boba's first Life Day without his biological father?" He asked.

Anakin looked down and said, "Yes. Padme and I fully expected this might be hard for him. So, we've been doing the best we can to make it still a Happy Life Day. It's what his father would've wanted. It's what we want for him."

Gabby couldn't believe the Life Day sweater her grandparents left on her bed. It wasn't ugly at all to her. it was green with two reindeer on it surrounded by little snowflakes, and it was so soft too. But, the sweater wasn't her main concern right now.

She had to find the perfect gift for her brother. Luckily, with all her experience helping pick up clothes and with clothing shopping, Gabby knew all the right sizes for clothes and shoes. She also knew his favorite treat was cinnamon buns, he liked cats, he collected toy and model starships, and he was now a Count Crescendo fan.

Gabby looked into her credit pouch. She had what must have been at least a hundred credits in there. And yes, most would find it shocking that a three-year-old would have that much, even if she is a princess. She was determined to use it for something extra special for her big brother.

Boba, on the other hand, was still completely unsure what he could get his sister.

He only had forty-two credits of allowance money saved up from the last few months, having used a lot of his allowance trying to win a prize at a carnival game earlier that year. He wasn't sure it would be enough to get his sister the kind of gift he thought she deserved.

Boba thought and thought. He knew Gabby's clothing and shoe sizes, that she loved horses, colorful things, books, and music. But, she had so much of everything. What could he give her that she didn't already have? What was the one thing he could give her that no one else could?

But, Boba's train of thought was interrupted when Padme called him and Gabby to the den.

Gabby was happy to see her grandfather brought out the silver star they put on top of the tree. Boba, on the other hand, was curious.

"Boba, we don't know if you had any holiday traditions, but this family has always had a special tradition of letting the youngest member of the family place the star on top of the tree." Padme said.

"I put it on last year." Gabby said.

"That's right." Anakin said. "But, since this is your first Life Day with us, we thought it would be extra special to let you put the star on top this year."

Boba couldn't believe it. Back on Kamino, he and Jango never had a tree on Life Day. Not a real one, anyway. They had a miniature tree with tiny little decorations on it they brought out every year. And Boba usually drew a card for his father to say Happy Life Day, and they'd read Boba's favorite story A Life Day Carol.

Carousella and Remix couldn't believe it when Boba told them he'd never even sung Life Day carols when he lived on Kamino. Not much holiday spirit existed on Kamino, apparently.

But here, his new family wanted to share their traditions with him, and he couldn't help feeling so honored.

Anakin gave Boba a lift as he stood on Remix's back, and Boba carefully placed the beautiful star on top of the beautifully decorated tree, which underneath would soon be beautifully wrapped gifts tied with perfect bows, one of which Boba and Gabby would be from each of them to the other.

The very next day, four days until Life Day, Anakin, Padme, and the rest of the Naberrie family took their kids to a local shopping mall to do some last-minute Life Day shopping, and take the kids to see Santa too.

Gabby and Boba hoped they could find the perfect gifts for each other.

The kids looked at the store. It was jam-packed with people and kids doing their own shopping.

"Look at this place!" said Ryoo.

"There must be like a million presents in this one place." Boba said.

"I wonder how many elves Santa has working on all the gifts he delivers." Gabby said.

"Probably as many elves as there are clones." Boba shrugged.

The kids were excited.

"Time to get some shopping done." Sola said. "You sure you and Dad can handle taking the kids to see Santa, Anakin?"

"Of course, Sola. Your girls will be perfectly fine." Anakin said.

"Alright, children." said Ruwee. "Ready to go see Santa and make your Life Day wishes?"

"Yes!" The kids said.

So, while the women went across the store, looking for their last-minute things, the men and horses took the children to go see Santa. There were a lot of kids eager to ask Santa for what they wanted most for Life Day, and the kids each got a little toy reindeer after they made their wishes.

It took a while, but finally it was the Naberrie and Skywalker kids' turn.

"Who's next?" said the elf assisting. "Four kids, one family."

"Little ladies first." Anakin declared. So, Gabby went first.

"Hello, little one." said Santa. "What is your name?"

"Gabriella Amidala-Skywalker."

"Have you been a good little girl?"

"Mommy and Daddy say I have."

"And what would you like for Life Day?"

Gabby thought, and she quietly told him, "This Life Day is my big brother's first since he got adopted. So, all I really want is for him to have the best one ever. I want him to have the greatest gift. The only problem is, I have no idea what it is."

"That is a very special wish, little one. Perhaps that wish will come true."

Gabby got her picture and reindeer. But, she still wasn't sure what to get Boba, and there wasn't much time left.

"Carousella? Can you come with me to help find a present for Boba?" Gabby asked.

"Okay." Carousella said.

Gabby looked at her reindeer and said, "Let's find a perfect present, Tinsel."

While her cousins got their turns with Santa, she looked around for something, anything that would be the perfect gift for her brother.

Soon, it was Boba's turn to tell Santa his wish.

"I've honestly made a lot of mistakes. But, I've done my best to be good." said Boba. "All I really want is to give my little sister Gabby a great gift. But, what do you give the girl who has everything?"

"Hmm. You might find that someone else feels just as lost as you, young man."

Soon, Boba was the one searching the store with his reindeer named Buddy.

"I'm lost alright. Lost in how I'm supposed to choose."

Gabby and Boba both looked in different parts of the store. But neither of them could find a gift that was just right.

Gabby couldn't find any good clothes in Boba's size, and everything Boba looked at was either a dress Gabby already had, the wrong color, or the wrong size.

None of the toys looked like they'd work either. Gabby couldn't find a starship toy Boba didn't already have, and she was pretty sure he wouldn't want a pink unicorn princess plushie. She liked it though.

What was the perfect gift for Boba's first Life Day with his new family?

But, Gabby didn't get a chance to find it before it was time to head back home.

While the grownups were getting dinner ready, the kids got to make little gingerbread houses, one of the tastiest Christmas traditions.

"Boba, you're supposed to build the house before eating it!" Gabby giggled.

Boba froze as he was about to help himself to a gingerbread wall. He loved cinnamon and sugar, and gingerbread cookies had plenty of those things.

Sola took lots of pictures of the kids as they were having fun putting together their gingerbread houses. But, the kids kept eating the candies and licking the icing.

"Hey look. I'm a reindeer." Boba joked, holding two candy canes on his head, making the others laugh.

"You're the sweetest reindeer I've ever seen, Big Brother." Gabby said.

Two days later, Gabby felt worried because she hadn't been able to get Boba anything. Nothing in the store was good enough, and by now, the stores were getting ready to stop selling anything good.

But then, she remembered she'd made cards for everyone and thought... maybe she could make something for Boba. But what?

Boba, on the other hand, felt slightly relieved because he was able to use his allowance to get something nice for Gabby. He only hoped it would be special enough, and not something she already had. But, what if wasn't the perfect gift?

How could he have bought something, and still not known what the greatest gift was?

Gabby decided that she would take out Boba's Life Day card and see if she could get any ideas inspired by that, except, when she checked her bag... she realized she hadn't sent in her letter for Santa!

It was Life Day Eve, meaning last-minute letters were probably already going out.

So, Gabby rushed out of the house as fast as she could without anyone noticing... except Boba.

Boba got his sweater on and rushed after his sister as quickly as he could, desperately trying to catch up with her and not freeze in the cold. And he followed her all the way to the nearest post office. But, the place was closed... except for in the back where there were many mail freighters taking in letters to Santa.

Gabby climbed up onto a stool to place her letter into a sack. Except, she leaned to far and fell in!

Unfortunately, the mail droid didn't notice her fall in, and put her in the freighter!

"Gabby!" Boba exclaimed.

Inconveniently, that freighter was fully loaded, and took off before Boba could stop them. Boba had to do something! But there wasn't enough time for him to run back home and get his parents. So, he did the only thing he could do.

Put himself into an empty package and mail himself to find his sister.
