Carousella pulled a bag of vegetables she'd brought back from Equinaro to the kitchen so it could be made into soup.
"What kind of soup is this anyway?" Boba asked.
"It's a special veggie soup recipe Queen Reigna shared with my mom." Carousella explained. "She makes it whenever Fantasia or her sisters get sick, and my mom later used to do it for me and Crescent."
"Queen Reigna likes to use veggies from her garden." Remix said, gathering the ingredients and washing them. "And this soup has definitely helped a lot of folks with sicknesses from the common cold to sparkle pox."
"What's sparkle pox?" Boba asked.
"It's like chicken pox, but more sparkly. And very messy too." Carousella said.
"Okay, we've washed these things, so now what do we do?"
"Well, we're not allowed to use the stove or knives. So, we gotta find a grownup who can help us here."
"You're a royal guard. Aren't you trained to handle dangerous things?"
"Yes, but I'm still a kid like you. Being a royal guard doesn't necessarily exempt you from certain restrictions. Plus, I don't even know how to use a stove."
Just then, Master Secura was walking into the kitchen.
"Hey, Master Secura." Remix said. "You got a minute?"
"Hello, Remix. Boba." said the Twilek. "What are you up to?"
"We wanna make soup to help Gabby feel better." Boba explained. "The only problem is we're not allowed to use the proper tools without a grownup. So, do you think you could help us? Please?"
"Of course. Just show me your recipe and I'll do my best."
Carousella got out the recipe and guided Aayla through the step of how much of each ingredient they needed chopped and the temperature of the stove they needed.
The soup started to smell pretty good.
"It's great even when you aren't sick." Carousella said, stirring the soup. "This'll have Gabby feeling better in no time."
However, there was suddenly a commotion coming from the hall!
Aayla told the kids to stay in the kitchen while she checked out what was happening.
And out in the hall, things were really crazy.
The hallway was filling with slippery bubbles, and clouds filled the ceilings, dropping bunches of flowers that exploded into plethoras of petals all over the place.
Boba looked into the hall and quickly saw this mess.
"Uh oh." Boba got worried. "We gotta get this soup to Gabby fast."
Carousella managed to get a bowl of soup into a small container and told Boba to get on her back. And using her horseshoes, they got to Gabby's room without a hitch.
But, when they got there, it was anything but a hitch.
Gabby was sneezing like crazy, and everything in the room was floating! Carousella even started floating upside down. She could barely even control herself when she flapped her wings.
"Whoa!" Carousella exclaimed. "Her sneezes are getting worse!"
"I can see that!" Boba said.
Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!
Gabby sneezed and sneezed, and fluffy clouds and fog started to appear.
"Hey! I can't see!" Boba said. "Gabby! Where are you?"
"I'm over here!" Gabby called, sounding raspy as she started coughing again.
"What do we do now?" Carousella asked.
"You have magic. Can't you do anything?"
"I've never dealt with unstable magic like this before." Carousella said. "But I can try... Ugh! If I can just get myself still!"
Carousella lit up her horn as brightly as she could, and managed to capture everything in the room in magical bubbles. Then, as carefully as she could, she set everything down.
Boba grabbed his sister and carried her as he was set down.
"Gabby's okay." Boba sighed with relief before placing her back into bed. Only this time, he sat her up with a pillow propping her up. "Okay, Sweetums. Got some yum-yum for you. But watch out. It's hot."
Carousella got the soup out, and Boba started to feed some to Gabby. He gently blew on the spoon to cool it down and fed his sister some warm soup.
Gabby seemed pretty satisfied as she had some of the warm vegetable soup.
"So, why isn't Gabby recovering in the healer's wing?" Carousella asked.
"Dad said the last time Gabby was sick and they put her there, the healer's wing got flooded," said Boba. "and it took an entire week to mop up all the water and fix the damage. So, they thought it best she recovers in her own bed like most people when they're sick."
Gabby started wheezing again, and Carousella quickly got Gabby a tissue, but not quickly enough for Gabby not to sneeze and create a strong wind that flung the soup onto Boba's shirt and pants.
"AHH! Hot!" Boba exclaimed.
"I'm so sorry, Boba!" Gabby said before sneezing again, and then a bunch of butterflies appeared in the room.
"It's okay, Gabby." Boba sighed once he recovered from the seething pain of the scalding hot soup. "Ugh! This is the third time I've had to change clothes today. Carousella-?"
"I'll look after her. You get changed." Carousella said.
Boba soon returned a few minutes later, but the room was all windy again, and Carousella's horn was covered in pink sparkles.
"Um... Boba? I think Gabby sneezed on my horn." Carousella panicked.
"Okay! We gotta move Gabby again." Boba said, pushing himself through the strong wind, and grabbing his sister once again and carried her out of the room to get here somewhere safe and comfortable, but everywhere he looked, something crazy was happening.
There was a rainbow-colored tornado in one of the classrooms, geysers spurting sticky nectar in one of the hallways, the meditation hall was turned into an ice rink filled with green roses, it was raining in the Council Chamber, and flaming flowers started to grow in the kitchen, which someone had to quickly put out.
Boba kept trying to find some place he could bring Gabby, but there was no place left for him to look, and with all the magic going crazy, and Carousella and Remix's horns out of whack... they needed help.
"We need reinforcements!" Boba said.
"I'll contact Fantasia!" Carousella said, looking for a phone.
Gabby continued coughing and sneezing. Boba had to jump and duck to avoid getting hit by her powers, and occasionally stopped to rescue whoever he could. But it wasn't easy with Gabby's sneezes and coughs adding to the craziness.
Boba eventually bumped into Obi-Wan as he arrived back from a mission.
Except, Obi-Wan had pink flakes in his hair, and his robes looked rainbow splattered.
"Boba? What's going on?" Obi-Wan asked. "I had to dig through pink snow and battle a rainbow to get out of the hangar!" He froze for a moment. "I can't believe that came out of my mouth either."
"Crazier stuff has been happening." Boba said, just barely managing to get a tissue to Gabby on time as she nearly unleashed another sneeze. He was exhausted! "Gabby's been coughing and sneezing all day, I've had to change my clothes four times, I've gotten soaked, had hot soup spilled on me, and nearly drowned in sticky nectar today. And now I can't even find a safe place for Gabby to rest because her powers are out of control!"
"Then it's a good thing someone contacted reinforcements." said a voice.
And that was when Boba and Obi-Wan saw Colden with his mother Queen Eleanore. And she wasn't alone. She'd come along with Queen Sophia, Queen Reigna, and some of the unicorn guards from Equinaro.
"We heard of a magical mishap here." Eleanore said. "We'll take care of the magic, you take care of getting Gabby some place you can treat her."
"And how exactly are we supposed to keep further damage from happening?" Boba asked, motioning to his sister, quickly pinching her nose before she could wheeze again.
"Give her some medicine and it should help slow down the effects."
"That may be difficult." Obi-Wan said. He knew from experience.
While the Enchanteds got to work fixing the magical mishaps, Obi-Wan got the kids to the one place that Gabby hadn't affected. The Masters' quarters. Most of it, anyway. They got Gabby to Obi-Wan's room, and he tried to get Gabby to take her medicine, but she covered her mouth with her hands and refused each time.
"Gabby, stop being so stubborn!" Obi-Wan said, trying again to get Gabby to take it.
"Gabby, come on!" Boba said. "You need this to get better!"
Still, Gabby refused to take her medicine.
"Try a spoonful of sugar." Carousella said. "That helps the medicine go down."
"Isn't that from a storybook about a magic nanny?" Boba asked.
"Yes, and it actually works." Carousella got a spoonful of sugar. "Come on, Gabby. Just take the medicine, and you have some sugar too."
Boba got Gabby up and got her hands off her mouth so Obi-Wan could get the medicine in, and Carousella got the sugar in. Gabby still gagged a bit, but it wasn't quite as bad with the added spoonful of sugar.
Obi-Wan tucked Gabby into his bed and made sure she was warm enough. But, Gabby couldn't sleep.
Just then, Master Windu came in and told Obi-Wan they needed help with something down below.
"Boba, stay here and watch your sister." Obi-Wan said. "I'll be right back."
So, Boba stayed behind with his little sister.
Boba sighed. "Babysitting really isn't an easy job, is it?"
Gabby said nothing and just looked at her brother tiredly.
Boba could see Gabby was tired, but was having trouble sleeping. He wondered what Anakin or Padme would do. So he thought, and he knew just what she needed.
Boba carefully took Gabby into his arms and hugged her gently swaying her back and forth as he sang her Padme's lullaby to soothe her to sleep.
It's magic when you are here beside me
Close your eyes and let me hold you tight
Everything that I could ever need is
Right here in my arms
Tonight
And like magic, Gabby was sound asleep in her big brother's arms.
Miraculously, the Enchanteds finally took care of all the magical craziness that occurred.
But before they left, Queen Sophia showed Remix and Carousella an emergency spell to use if Gabby's or any other Enchanted in the Temple's magic went out of whack again.
"Remember this spell, and it'll help you prevent future disasters." Sophia told them.
"We will, Your Majesty." Remix said with a bow. "Thank you."
Now, all that was left to do was make sure Gabby got better.
For the rest of the day, Boba looked after his sister with help from Carousella and Remix. And late that night, Anakin finally returned home and found Boba fast asleep in a chair, Gabby asleep in her bed, and the horses laying on the floor.
Anakin chuckled.
"He actually handled it better than I expected." Anakin said quietly.
Anakin then carefully picked his son up and carried him to his own bed to rest. He gently kissed his son goodnight.
"You did a great job, Boba." Anakin said. "Gabby is very lucky to have you as her big brother."
