Vampire Dream

A/N Yes, I was actually planning on finishing this, apologies all those who are waiting.

Los Angeles, the world without shrimp 2005

The blood! The boiling liquid frothing inside his mouth was telling a story - that of the woman lifeless in his arms as he cradled her broken body. She was delicate enough as it is, the red stain on her neck was punctured in two places where he'd plunged his fangs into her, his teeth instantly finding her pulse-point and a feeling of almost-orgasmic pleasure riding over him. Angel felt himself gasp, his eyes rolling to the back of his head and the woman in his arms giving a little nudge, sometimes the muscles did that after death, wriggled, still enough life left inside them for their reflexes to be set off. He enjoyed that, he enjoyed the feeling of her dying in his clutches. He had achieved his aim if that happened, he would have tortured her to death and watched the light in her eyes fade as her mind finally drifted out of insanity and into the slow agony of death.

Angel's body rattled and shook as he tried to rub the memory from his mind, that was years ago, centuries. He remembered Darla being there, her ever-presence in his past was almost damning. She was an overwhelming shadow in his mind, other than for Connor's sake he tried not to think of her at all, but in his dreams she found a way to creep in. She always had. He awoke with his head a rather heavy reminder of the hangover he was now nursing. Spike had taken him out drinking, and boy could a vampire drink you under the table, he forgot his human constitution wouldn't exactly allow to indulge himself quite so much.

He rolled over and groaned, his legs clattering together as he looked over at the clock on the side table: 12:00. Midday! How could he have let himself sleep in so late, Cordy wouldn't forgive him. Where was Cordelia? She wasn't in bed with him as he'd expected to see when he rolled over, then he heard it, with the noises seemingly deafening. A small giggle, a chuckle really, but very distinctly that of his girlfriend. "Cordelia?" He tried to say but the words got lodged in his throat, a stuck mess of syllables that couldn't be deciphered. He missed his vampire physiology sometimes, enhanced hearing would've helped at this moment, because he couldn't exactly here what she was saying.

"No Fred, I'm telling you, he was shouting, crying almost. It's a good job he didn't wake the baby, but then again, she sleeps through everything. I think he's having nightmares again." Cordelia said, switching her phone over to the other hand and walking to through the door to the bedroom. She watched as Angel stirred and gently lifted his head up to look at her, an awful look in his eyes like he hadn't the will to get up and face the day. "Alright talk later yeah?" She said finally and put the phone down on the hook. Her robe was undone and showed off a set of pyjamas too inappropriate to be seen with in public, it was black and lacy, really it was lingerie. Not something she'd slept in but rather something she'd just slipped into of a morning. She had pantyhose that came up the sides of her legs but had decided to furnish them with garters that showed off the work she'd been putting into her calves. Lately she'd been anxious that her 'pregnancy glow' was wearing off and he saw her as nothing more than a slab of meat - although that was far less likely a possibility now that he was human.

"Uh wha- what's going on-n?" Angel managed to get out of his mouth as Cordy stood in the doorway looking at him like he was a museum attraction. She walked towards him in a sultry fashion and then sat on the edge of the bed, Her fingers resting underneath his chin and bringing his lips in towards hers. Which she immediately regretted due to the extreme taste of liquor on his lips, she recoiled, and pulled herself away from him.

"Spike brought you in last night, it wasn't pretty, hangover. I would be mad at you but I know Spike and I doubt this was your fault. Now get up." She said, she knew she'd talk to him about this later, but for the sake of his headache it could wait, half the day was gone. Angel shook his head and pulled himself out of the covers, his head was thumping loudly and after staggering about a bit, he managed to find the bathroom.
