Dora Claire Current
I was covered in a sheen of sweat. I was in the sweltering depths of damnation. I murdered a person. I was wicked. But I couldn't be, because I had been following the rules. He was wicked for losing. I must punish the sinners. Wait, no. That wasn't right either. What was my purpose here?
The blazing heat scorched my skin but I knew I would be fine. In the back of my mind, I knew I was fine. I didn't burn. It was because… because… my dad. He didn't burn, and I got his skin tone. During the summers, he and I would run around with water balloons, while… my other parents… especially my mom Switch, hid inside. She burned so easily. But we didn't. Wait. Why wasn't dad here? He was always outside with me when it was hot. He must be somewhere else. I was really craving an iced coffee. I couldn't remember how to get to Firefox though. I'd figure it out later. Suddenly, I remembered. I had to turn left at the library. Left. What was left of me in this hollow husk of a girl, wandering the land, trying to fill the gaps? I was a killer. But I had to. It was one of the rules. Of what? I remembered in a flash. The Hunger Games.
Maeve Calau
A cannon fired as I closed my eyes to sleep. When I woke up, Perfecta was gone. I knew it would happen. A second cannon went off during the day. That night, I was absolutely astonished when she was in the sky.
As I lay there trying to avoid rubbing my sunburns, I realized I was now the undisputed top dog. I could beat Aggra. Archimedes would collapse if I sneezed on him. I could easily take Mara, Delvin, and Dora.
That morning, I went out to try and kill someone. I was so close. I just had to ignore the pain. My skin was bright red and felt like someone coated sandpaper in acid and scraped it all over me. I had a pounding headache, and my mouth was cottony. I needed water. Between the others leaving, and the progression of time, I didn't have much left. My leg was also cramping up. But I was in luck. I saw a scrawny figure dash behind a hot dog cart. I unsheathed my dagger and slinked along, keeping to the shadows for stealth and to cool down. I paused. Archimedes was skinny. It could be him. Delvin was thin also, but he was too tall. Dora was too curvy for that to be her, and Aggra was too bulky. It could also be Mara, who posed no threat. My head was spinning. I couldn't think. But I could kill. I crept closer and saw a little stash of supplies. But where was the tribute? I should take the stuff. They could ambush me but I'd just kill them.
I was soaked in sweat, and I would kill for a glass of ice water. Or just because it was my mission. But water would be nice.
I scanned the area, searching for the tribute, and I saw her. I pulled my arm back to stab her, but my dagger slipped right through my sweaty fingers and clattered on the ground behind me. She spun and screamed, but I lunged at her. Before I got her though, she raised her arm and something smashed into my face. Sharp bits of something dug into my skin and I heard footsteps pounding the ground as I tried to collect myself. By the time I got up, she was gone.
Broken shards of a crystal ball covered the ground around me. I felt like my face was coated in clay. I felt at it, but immediately hissed at the pain in my nose. I found a shard of crystal, and it was reflective enough to see that my nose was crooked, and my face was caked in dried blood. Seeing as I was already dehydrated, it seemed logical that losing blood would make that worse. I wouldn't know, though. I did know that I would find that girl and smash her face in.
OOOOOH DORA'S LESS CRAZY! And, yeah I know it's not realistic for her to just be uncrazy and conveniently piece things together but this is a parody of a fictional YA novel so… too bad. On another note, Mara has finally let go of her magic eight ball, the one she was sponsored.
In case of confusion:
Maeve and Archimedes are pale and stuff so the heat and sunlight will affect them most. Archimedes is staying in shade, but Maeve is hunting.
Delvin is also pale but happens to be a bit more UV-resistant and also isn't venturing out much.
Dora Claire and Mara have dark complexions and are pretty resistant to the sun cuz melanin stuff.
Aggra isn't super bronze, just tan, but also is like sunproof from years of surfing and outdoor time.
Who will die next? I still haven't picked a winner lol. I have a few ideas…
PS Sponsors are still pretty much free as long as u have some restraint so if u wanna, go for it.
Who do you think should win? Who do you think will win? Why?
