Chapter 8: Bridge
"...like…?" Yue asked, holding his dessert spoon which was slightly on top of his dessert.
Sakura smiled sheepishly, blushing slightly as she lightly nodded her head, while preparing her spoon to get a taste from his treat. Her eyes suddenly became a bit rounder and surprised, as Yue scooped an small amount from his dessert and turned the spoon towards her mouth. Shocked with his action, she carefully opened her mouth and took a bite from what he was offering.
"Good?" Yue looked at her intently while smiling. She nodded in an instant but honestly, she wasn't able to taste it–embarrassed and shocked with what had just happened. Having a hard time swallowing the small amount of dessert she took, she hastily grabbed a glass of water. And as soon as she swallowed it, she took the time to compose herself again. She placed the glass down and quickly turned towards his side, "Why do you always do this to me when we are together?!" She spat exasperatedly.
She can see it. He was trying his best but he was failing; him holding his laugh. She squinted her eyes, her eyebrows meeting. He then turned to her, his eyes glistening with tears. But when he saw her eyes and eyebrows in such a way, he coughed a bit to stop himself from giggling. "You know I like you seeing so worked up." he tenderly held her hand. He could see that her cheeks were puffed, her eyes still squinted. But he really can't stand it when she looks that way. He easily curbs when she goes in that mode. "I just missed you."
"I know. And I…" but she stopped midway. Her eyes turned a bit glassy.
He knew what she was about to say and he just held her hand. "Do you still think of him?" He couldn't help but ask her. It has been years already. He couldn't help but feel frustrated with him.
She then looked at him intently and smiled warmly at him. And from that look, Yue knew.
"You know I'm still pissed at him, for making you feel this way babe."
Sakura shifted her gaze to their fellow doctors having the time of their lives–dancing the night away. They all looked so lively and having the time of their lives. And then there was her just slowly passing her time. She then noticed a couple enjoying their moment with each other's arms, swaying their bodies slowly even though the music doesn't match their wonderful movement. She wanted that. She wished for that before. Her smile slowly fading.
Yue followed her gaze and understood why she looked so far away. "Don't be mad at him." her voice was soft and he could see she was trying to compose herself.
Their background music was slowly fading and changing to another tune. "How's your boyfriend by the way?" And he understood her question and her silent demand: don't ask any more.
And he knew that she had not yet fully crossed that bridge. He was badly hoping that she had already, given that years had passed already. But he couldn't hide the fact that he is pissed. The desire to punch him grew stronger. 'Stupid brother!'
To be continued…
hi,I think it's been 2 years since I last updated this story. Honestly, a lot has happened. I don't know if anyone is still interested to read this story, but if anyone out there is still following my story, I just want to say thank you for taking your time. If you'll leave a review, thank you also in advance.
I wanted to know where this story will go. I had so many ideas way before this story started. But I think after sometime, I wanted to just focus with my two main characters. I want to see their lives unfold. I don't know what chapter I will end their stories but I know that I'd still go for short chapters.
