(AN Sorry about not writing this for over a year I just had a lot of trouble rewitting the episode segments of the story had a serious case of writters block. This has not been beta read)

Being a kid again sucked as far as Shinichi was concerned, He's not allowed to be by himself anymore, people don't take him as seriously, he has to pretend to be less intelligent than he is, & worst of all no ones willing to give him any Coffee!

Ever since a few months ago when he was poisoned by those men in black & reduced to the size of a six year old I've had to go back to elementary school, Move in with my crush & her father, & always look over my shoulder looking for those men in black.

Luckily with Professor Agasa's help I've been able to continue my detective work with some tools he's invented for me. I can solve murders from Mouri's shadows, & hopefuly find some clues about the men in black who did this to me. But after a couple of months of nothing things have gotten a bit stale.

Then one day some thief sent an advanced Notice to Sonoko's house announcing their crime ahead of time in code. Normally I wouldn't pay attention to some petty thief but the temptation of solving a code was too great for me to resist.

Which is why I'm now atop this hotel at night waiting for this Kaitou 1412, no Kaitou KID as Agasa tells me over the phone. After the name of the thief rings through my ears over the phone I suddenly feel a presence behind me. I turn around to find a man descending from the sky like a phantom, wearing a pure white suit, silken tophat, cape & a monocle of all things. Frankly it's an outfit no one has a right to try & pull off in this day & age. As the thief- no KID approaches I try to get a feel for this guy's age & there's no way he's in his middle ages like you would think based on what the professor just told me about would imply. He seems to be in his early 20's at the latest & closer to my actual age in general implying he was born after Kaitou KID first debuted 18 years ago.

Soon KID gets close to me & it feels like time stands still & there's something magnetic in the air, until soon there's only about 2 feet from us apart & I snap out of whatever trans I was in to remember what I came here for.

"Kid, what are you doing here?" KID asks in a smooth voice as I light the firework I brought with me letting the cops know where we are.

"Fireworks" I say as I ready my tranquilizer dart watch behind my back, how disappointing I figured this Thief would be more of a challenge. I notice KID doesn't seem too worried as he reaches inside his suit & pulls out a police Radio shocking me with what he does next. Flawlessly impersonating a few cops to get all the police resources to turn their attention to the roof we're on, WITHOUT using any special tools like my Bowtie.

Everything next happens in a flash one Moment the police are swarming the rooftop, the next KID drops a flashbomb & calls detectives ( ME ) a critic, then nothing. Where did KID go? I think looking around I can still feel his presence on the rooftop but I can't see him. Which no one else seems to notice. While we couldn't find the thief, he did leave behind a note.

Well if that's the case then, I'll accept your challenge for a rematch KID. I think as I read the Advance notice, After all not many people are able to pull a Fast one on me like that. But next time I'll win & put that thief behind bars.

~~~Time skip to the night of the Heist~~~

As the Queen Elizabeth set sails I looked around to see if I could spot where the thief could potentially hide during tonight, or could use it as an escape route. Agase said KID was a Master or a disguise so there's no telling who he could be disguised as right now. Who knows maybe he's here as himself tonight but that would be too risky for an alibi so that most likely isn't the case.

Soon I discovered that KID originally snuck on board disguised as Sonoko's father, which he has abandoned now, so who knows who he could become next. Someone I know, a member of the Cops, the staff?

To find out Sonoko's Mom actually hired a magician to pretend to be KID rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Perhaps it has something to do with how relaxed the Suzuki's are taking this situation? Though the decoy pearl plan is smart if we were dealing with an amature theif & not one who most likely knows how to tell real & fake apart at a single glance.

"When I say Holmes" I whisper to Ran, coming up with our code words just in case KID impersonates one of us(Well Ran I doubt he could become a child)

"I'll say Lupin" She whispers back as we continue on with the party… Wait Lupin?

Soon the thief makes their move by having the fake pearls act as Smoke bombs & create a heavy fog in the room allowing the real Black Star to be stolen. Knowing who the real KID is though, I grab Ran's(KID's) hand to make our way to the bowls of the ship to confront the thief in private. Though the moment our skin touched I felt sparks fly throughout my whole body for some reason.

(AN I'M JUST GOING TO SKIP THE TALK IN THE SHIP CAUSE IT GOES THE SAME AS CANON)

After KID returned the pearl & pulled that fake out with disrobing Ran to escape. Seriously, what self proclaimed gentleman thief pretends to disrobe a lady just to play a joke on who they perceive as a child? Oh well, after getting the credit for once since becoming conan for my detective work, we make our way back to the detective agency after the cruise.

I guess I was more exhausted than I expected from tonight cause I fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow.

Shinichi finds himself standing in a living room he's never seen before, back to his original age for some reason. The Room seems to be decorated for a child's 4th birthday party based on the decorations. In the kitchen there's a woman cooking with short Maroon hair & blue eyes, & the man putting up the decorations is Kuroba Toichi? But that doesn't make sense. Shinichi remembers hearing about his death years ago.

"What's going on". Shinichi Shouts but no one seems to hear him. He goes to grab Toichi's arm but his hand phases through it, like a ghost. This doesn't make sense, it's almost like he's viewing a memory or something. But who's he never met his Mom's teacher in person before, & that still wouldn't explain why this is happening now? As he's trying to deduct his way through this, the people in the dream(?) start to talk.

"Toichi shouldn't the birthday boy be up already"? The woman asks her husband? Was Kuroba Toichi ever married? He doesn't remember hearing anything about that before.

The famous magician chuckles before answering. "Oh don't worry about it he'll be down in 3". He holds up 3 fingers then changes it to 2, then 1, & when the last finger drops a voice calls down from upstairs.

"Good morning Tou-San, Kaa-San". A young child's voice echoes through the house, as the Mom looks at Toichi with a pout

"I still don't know how you do that".

"Magic". Toichi says with a wink & I scoff magic outside soulmate magic isn't real it's just a trick. Soon a small child enters the room & much to my surprise this could have been me at 4 years old only with Messier hair & indigo eyes.

"Happy Birthday Kaito"! The parents say together as the boys-Kaito- face lights up into a bright smile.

"Thank you". He says as sits at the table & the family enjoys their meal once it's over Kaito starts opening presents, over all it's a very chummy family birthday party.

Then Toichi coughs, & starts to speak. "Now Kaito I know you've been wanting to start studying magic under me for a while now, considering I've seen you practicing my tricks & begging me for months to teach you so I've got you a very special present to celebrate being allowed to study under me". At those words the young son's face lights up.

"Really I get to study magic under you Pops? YATTA!" Kaito cheers as his father holds a hand in front of his son & with a subtle gesture a Dove pops from his hand.

"Kaito this is Marguerite, she's a retired dove of mine & starting today she's going to be your first dove to practice magic with. Now you will be expected to learn to take care of & feed her yourself, after all if you want to be a magician then you have to know it's not all just fun & games there are responsibilities you must be aware of like taking care of doves for example". He lectures beforehand the dove to his son. But before Kaito can touch it the dove flies into the boy's bird's nest of hair & sits in it.

Instead of being annoyed with the bird Kaito just reaches up & gently pets the bird with a gentle smile. "Thanks Dad I love Marguerite. I promise I'll take great care of her. I also promise to make you proud & become an amazing magician just like you Tou-Chan".

Hearing this the mother & father smile to each other knowingly. "I'm positive you'll be an amazing Magician one day Kaito ''.

Conan jolts up from his sleep as the dream ends, breathing heavily to himself. "What just happened"?
